Chapter 4: The Things We Do For Love
As Kikyou sat there in the tree and watched the wolf demon leave, she had a plan to get everything back, Inuyasha, her life, maybe even her soul… for kagome did posses her soul, “If kagome was dead then I could get my soul back.” Kikyou said to herself. She smiled at the thought and let one of her soul-catchers do the job. “Now, for Inuyasha…” she said out loud knowing no one was around to hear… but alas, someone was watching, and very close… a woman appeared from behind the brush she was hiding to introduce herself. She had flaming red eyes, wore her hair in a high bun type style and was dressed in about three layers of clothing. She also carried a suspicious looking fan in her right hand.
“Why, hello, Kikyou.” The woman purred
“Kagura? What do you want?” Kikyou demanded
“I have a proposition for you….”
“And what would that be?”
“I can help you everything back, of course, I'm going to need something in return.”
“How dare you come to me and suspect that I would need your help!”
“Oh believe me you will and getting you soul back isn't going to be easy…”
“And why is that?”
“Because Inuyasha is reviving Kagome as we speak”

“Like I said, what are you doing here in my home!!!” Sesshomaru growled
“Look, I don't have time to pick a fight with you right now, I ….I need your help…” Inuyasha huffed
“And what is it that you need my help with exactly?”
Inuyasha just looked down at the bundle in his arms. Sesshomaru soon followed and saw that Kagome was in his arms with no sense of life in her at all. He soon realized what Inuyasha wanted him to do. This thought made him laugh, for he thought that he would be the last person that Inuyasha would come to help, but here he was right in front of him.
“I see…you want me to use Tensegia to bring her back to life, don't you?”
“Well… yeah, would you?”
“That woman has made you soft Inuyasha. Why do you care so much for her well-being? Tell me the truth and maybe I'll consider reviving her.”
Inuyasha just stared at him in disbelief. Was he really going to do a good deed? Inuyasha quickly came over his shock, and began to reluctantly tell him the whole story. Starting when he followed Kikyou in to the forest that night to when he couldn't get to the other side all the way to when Kikyou stabbed Kagome and she told him that she loved him and died. Sesshomaru strangely felt himself feel grief for a short period during his brothers story, but caught himself and thought about whether or not he was going to help his heartbroken little brother.
“So…”
“So what?”
“ARE YOU GONNA HELP ME!!”
“WATCH YOU'RE TONE HALF-BREED!”
“Look, I didn't come here to get insulted, are you gonna help me or not?”
“If I do will you stay out of my way?”
“Yeah, yeah sure whatever just fix her!”
Sesshomaru flashed Inuyasha a look cold enough to stop time before he proceeded to remove Tensegia from its stealth, motion to Inuyasha to lay Kagome down and swipe away the messengers from the underworld. There was a great pink flash, and a gentle gust of wind before Kagome's chest began to heave up and down again.
“There, now leave!” Sesshomaru roared
Inuyasha scooped up the sleeping Kagome and blazed out of the castle.

“Sango, Miroku? Where are ye going?” Kaede questioned
“We are going to go find Inuyasha, he might do something drastic…” Miroku answered
“Yeah, and we don't want him to hurt himself anymore than he already is.” Sango informed
With that said Sango called to Kiara and they headed out on their quest. Not to long after they were gone, there was a strong gust of wind and a man yelling for Inuyasha to come out and stop being a coward. Shippo exited the hut to find Kouga standing out side the entrance to hut screaming his lungs out.
“Kouga?” shippo asked with curiosity
“Hey… Your that little runt that's always following Kagome around huh?” Kouga asked
“Uhh… yea…. Uh what are you doing here?”
“I'm looking for dog-shit seen him around?”
“Ewww!! Why would you be looking for that!!?”
“Not literally you idiot!! I'm talking about Inuyasha!!”
“Ohhhhhh, well why didn't you say so!! He left with Kagome a while ago, he ran into th… Kouga, Kouga!! Hmm where did he go?”
Kouga ran off into the forest following Inuyasha's scent. It seemed to be moving toward him along with Kagome's scent…

“So what is it that you plan to do about my `problem'?” Kikyou asked
“I can either kill the girl or send her to her own time and destroy the well… its up to you.” Kagura noted
“What about Inuyasha?”
“Well if you'd like, I can kill him for you? It would be easy, his heart has been stolen by that girl and he'd do anything to protect her… if you get what I'm sayin…”
“I get what your sayin but…”
“But what?”
“Why do you wish to help me, it can't be because you have a big heart.”

“Because that priestess is an annoyance and we've, as in Naraku, Kanna, and I have been trying to get rid of them for the longest of time, but if we can get someone on the inside, like you, then wed be able to complete our goal and collect the rest of the jewel shards.”
“I see, I shall think about it I will give you an answer tomorrow at this same time.”
“Alright, well don't keep Naraku waiting too long…”
With that said and done Kagura flew away on one of her feathers and glided off into the distant night.
`Who does she think she is…I'll let Naraku collect the shards and then I shall destroy him!' Kikyou thought.

< br> As Inuyasha raced back to Kaedes village, he began to think of how this could've happened he never should have went after Kikyou, but he did and does every time.
“Kagome, I'm so sorry, I'll never hurt you again, I have you back now, and I'm never gonna lose you again.” Inuyasha vowed
“Your not gonna lose me Inuyasha” Kagome whispered
“Huh? Y-your awake! How do you feel? Does you heart hurt? Is anything hurting?”
“Inuyasha calm down! I'm fine really, but why am I not dead, I remember dieing.”
“You did but I ha-“
Inuyasha paused on the spot, and began to sniff the air.
“Inuyasha? What's wrong?”
“I smell wolf!”
Right after he said that Kouga popped out of the trees and began to make yet another attempt to take Kagome away once he realized that she wasn't dead.
“Wha-what!! I was told you were dead!!” Kouga screamed in disbelief
“Uhhh…” Kagome answered,
“Get outta my way ya flea bitten wolf!!” Inuyasha yelled
“Shut up dog shit!! I'm here to get my woman back!!
“Your woman!! You can't clam her she not anyone's property!!”
Inuyasha had to think fast he had to get Kagome outta here and have her get some rest he'd deal with Kouga later. Just when he was about to make his move, Sango and Miroku arrived on Kiara.
“Inuyasha!!” Sango yelled
“Ka-Kagome!! Is that really you!!” Miroku asked looking as though he'd seen a ghost
“Yeah it is. Are you guys ok?” Kagome asked
“Yeah were fine! Lets get you outta here.” Sango suggested
“What about Inuyasha?
“Oh yeah! C'mon Inuyasha!! Lets go! Fight Kouga later!!”
“Inuyasha!!! C'mon!!” Kagome screamed
“Hold up would ya!!” Inuyasha hollered back
“Grrrrrr INUYASHA!!!! OSWARI!!!”
“GYYYYAAAAAHHHH!” Inuyasha screamed as he went slamming into the ground.
The gathered up the oswaried Inuyasha told Kouga to leave and took off towards the village.
“I see, I shall think about it I will give you an answer tomorrow at this same time.”
“Alright, well don't keep Naraku waiting too long…”

`Why am I still in love with him?' Kikyou pondered as she walked by a lonesome river. `I feel a strong hate for him, even though I know now that it was Naraku that pitted us against each other, but at the same time, I still feel a strong sense of calm when I am around him' Kikyou bent down to get drink of the cool crisp water, when an unexpected gust began to form. A small twister appeared and Kagura leaped off it. The wind sorceress smiled evilly at the miko as she crept her way towards the river herself.
“Kikyou, do we have a deal?” Kagura asked nonchalantly
“You said I had a whole day to decide… its only morning, I need more time, and how dare you rush me.” Replied Kikyou
“Look, Naraku is getting impatient… I need an answer NOW!”
“What's the rush, it not like you actually need me, or do you? And if so why does the `Mighty Naraku' who is supposed to be so powerful need my help to kill some humans and a half-demon? Oh yeah, that's right, he's a half demon himself right?”
“I don't have time for this, I'll be back!” Kagura fumed and flew off into the distance.

Kagome awoke that morning feeling more alive than she ever had in her life. Yet she still wondered how she was revived. The only person that she knew of with that sort of power was Sesshomaru. `Did Inuyasha go to his brother for help?' she turned and walked out side hut careful not to wake anyone else up. She had to talk to Inuyasha; she had to know why he revived her. Just then it hit her…*FB* “Inuyasha, I love you.” “I love you too kagome” *EFB* `that's why… I…he…he really loves me…' kagome thought. She walked up to the tree that Inuyasha is always sleeping in.
“Uhhh… Inuyasha?” kagome whispered
“Huh? Oh hey kagome.” Inuyasha answered half asleep
“So, how are you feeling you feeling?”
“I should be askin' you that, so how are you feeling anyways?
“Oh I'm fine um Inuyasha could I umm…”
“Yeah sure hold on.”
Inuyasha jumped down from his spot in the tree and swooped up kagome and leapt back into the tree with her in his lap.
“So kagome what do you talk about?” Inuyasha asked
“Uhh how did you know that I wanted to ask you something?” Kagome questioned
“I just know, so what do you wanna talk about?”
“Do really love me”

< br> “Kagura, why did you not get Kikyou's answer, I need it in order to continue.” Naraku demanded
“Look, you're the one who specifically told me to give her a whole day to think it over, it's not my fault she's still in love with that half demon…” Kagura hissed
“HOLD YOUR TOUNGE!! When I tell you to do something Kagura, I expect it to be done.
“So what do you want me to, threaten her or something, she's not afraid of you.
“I do not care. NOW GO! And do not return until you have completed your task!”
With that said, Kagura furiously exited the room and set out on her journey. Naraku watched her leave, and sent one of his insects to keep an eye on her.
`I need the rest of the Shikon Jewel…and Kikyou's the only one who can help me accomplish that while killing that damned kagome who has the power to see the jewel.' Naraku contemplated

Back inside the hut, Miroku was just beginning to wake up when he noticed that Kagome was missing. He woke up Sango and they were about to leave the hut when the saw Kagome and Inuyasha sitting together in a tree.
“They look so sweet!” Sango whispered
“I know, there finally admitting to each other that they're in love” Miroku replied in a hushed tone
“Miroku, maybe we shouldn't be spying on the-“
Miroku grabbed her hand and looked into her eyes yet again. `oohhhh, he's doing it again' Sango thought nervously.
“Uh..umm… Miroku i.. I gotta.. Go get some wood!” Sango babbled
“Uh, ok then…” Miroku hurtly answered
Sango got up, blushing ten shades of red and ran out of the hut.
“Why do I even bother?” Miroku huffed
“Because you love her” Kaede answered
“Ahhh!! Lady Kaede, you scared me!” Miroku screamed

Kagura began her search for Kikyou she finally caught up and with her and landed.
“Look, Kikyou, Naraku needs your answer, ok I cant leave until you give it to me!” Kagura yelled
“Fine, ill help…” Kikyou half evilly, half remorsefully answered
“Good”
Kagura took out her feather and was about to take off.
“C'mon, Naraku needs to see you too, to make the deal official…”
Kikyou shot her a killer look, and hopped on. The feather soon disappeared over the horizon.
