Chapter 3
When she raced down the stairs everyone was already in their sleeping bags. Kagome's was rolled out and ready for her. "Sorry I took so long."

Inuyasha got up, "I'll be back, I gotta pee."

Sango grimaced, "Thank you for the info Inuyasha, I really wanted to know."

"I know, that's why I told you." He walked up the stairs and into the bathroom. After finishing his business he made his way to Kagome's room.

As soon as he saw the pile of clothes on the floor he went to it. Inuyasha picked up her jeans and dug through her pockets. In the left pocket he found the thing that Sesshoumaru gave her.

His blood boiled, 'Sesshoumaru is going to die.' In his hand held a package withtwo sex dice in it. Inuyasha stck them in his pocket and went down stairs.

Sesshoumaru parked the car in the carport and went through the gaage entrance. His step-mother was asleep on the couch again as she usually was.

He went to the closet and got a blanket, Sesshoumaru covered her up and went to his room on the second floor. Once he was in his room he shed his shirt and went to his private bathroom. Sesshoumaru needed a shower and no matter how late it was he was going to take one.

His clothes littered the floor in his bathroom. He stepped under the hot water of his shower and sighed. Being around his brother all night was too much for him. Usually they avoided each other like the plague, but Kagome's birthday was too important to miss. Even if Sesshoumaru didn't hang out with Inuyasha and his friends, Kagome turning sixteen was a one time thing and he didn't want to hurt her feelings.

It wasn't as bad as Sesshoumar would have thought. He hadn't been to one of her birthday parties in five years. Her parties had changed as much as she had. Sesshoumaru shook his head, she didn't even blush. Normally anything in the least bit sexual would send her blushing, but tonight she didn't.

Sesshoumaru had missed a lot in the past four years. Even Sango and Miroku were getting closer and becoming more than friends. After seeing them Sesshomaru had wondered if he was even wanted there with them. Kagome's words had comforted him, now he knew he would a perminent place amoung their group that he was part of so long ago.

He stood before the mirror in a towel. The mirror was covered in steam; Sesshoumaru opened his door to let the steam out.

Standing in his room Sesshoumaru mulled over the kis he shared with Kagome. It was a kiss between friends, even she knew that. In some way it was his way of apologizing for missing so many things with her. He had felt elated that she accepted his way of saying sorry and even enjoyed the kiss.

Now the almost steam free mirror was enough for Sesshoumaru to see himself. His hair was just long enough to be a pain, but he liked it short. Whereas Inuyasha liked his long, Sesshoumaru liked long hair when his father was alive. After he died Sesshoumaru got it cut.

With his hair in order Sesshoumaru dried off and slipped into a pair of silk pants. He slid into his bed and fell asleep almot instantly.

Sango and Miroku had left some time ago, so now it was only Kagome and Inuyasha. They were playing the Playstation 2; Inuyasha had hooked her on Halo 2. Now Kagome was kicking his butt as they waited for Sesshoumaru.

"Hah! Ten wins to none! In your face Inuyasha!" Kagome smiled at him when he cursed, "You got me into Halo, remember that."

A knock at the door redirected their attention. Kagome jumped up and answered it, "Hi, Sesshoumaru!"

He winced at her loud tone, "Into the chocolate early this morning I see." He walked in the door and saw Inuyasha already glaring at him, 'Odd.'

"No I just kicked Inuyasha's ass at Halo 2." She smiled at him, then she glanced down, "Wow, we're looking sharp today. What's the occasion?"

"Date."

"Really, I didn't think you made time for your stalkers to date them. Do you think the rest will catch a clue and maybe a brain?"

He sighed, "I can only hope." Sesshoumaru turned to his still glaring brother, "Come on, we need to get going. Your mother said she had something for us."

Inuyasha grabbed his bag and walked to the door, "See ya later Kagome." He stepped out the door and started walking towards the large set of stairs leading from the shrine. When he noticed his brother wasn't following him Inuyasha looked back over his shoulder.

Sesshoumaru smiled when he noticed Kagome wearing his gift, "It brings out your eyes."

Her eyes lit up with joy, "Thank you Sesshoumaru. I meant what I said last night, it means a lot to me." She unbuttoned the top button of his white shirt under his jacket. "Give them a reason to drool."

He smirked at her, "Do they need to be given a reason to? I am irresistable as I am."

Kagome laughed, "Oh, yes, I must say I am trying not to jump you right now." She pretended to fan herself, "Hurry up or I might burst a vein."

Rolling his eyes, Sesshoumaru started walking towards his brother. The look on Inuyasha's face threw him off guard for a second. He looked almost like he was ready to kill. Sesshoumaru shook his head, "Come on."

"Bye guys!" Kagome waved until they were out of sight, then went back inside.

'How odd,' Sesshoumaru mused, 'Inuyasha being completely quiet.' Next to him Inuyasha just stared out the window. "What did Kagome get from her mother and grandfather?"

"They got her a new car."

Sesshoumaru smiiled to himself. he would have to watch out for her on the road. She wasn't someone to be messed with when she was mad.

They pulled into the large driveway that led to their even larger house. Their father was rich and lived the best he could, providing everything for his children. When he died he left a huge sum of money to Inuyasha's mother, his secone wife. There was enough money for all of them to live comfortable for the rest their lives.

Once they were inside the carport Sesshoumaru cut the engine and got out of the car. On the other side Inuyasha pulled out his duffle bag and walked straight inside. Still not sure of his mood, Sesshoumaru followed him.

Inuyasha's mother waited for them in the livingroom. She smiled at the two of them. "How was the sleepover Inuyasha?"

"Pretty cool. What's up?"

"Well, I know Sesshoumaru doesn't want to drive you everywhere, so as a late birthday present I got you a car. A new mustang is sitting in the carport waiting for you."

Inuyasha dropped his bag, "Are you serious?"

"Of course."

He ran around the counter and hugged his mother, "You rock mom." Inuyasha ra back out into the carport to see his new car.

'Great now I have to watch him on the road too.' Sesshoumaru inwardly groaned, the roads wouldn't be safe again.

She turned to Sesshoumaru, "I have something fr you too."

"So it's not the luck of not having to drive him around anymore?"

"No, that's an added perk. I know you want a new cellphone and already spent you allowance."

"How do you know that?"

"You don't have a new cellphone do you?"

He smirked at her, sometimes he enjoyed their conversations. "No, I suppose I don't."

"If you don't mind me asking, what did you spend it on?"

"I bought Kagome a birthday present."

Inuyasha stood at the door listening, he was pissed at Sesshoumaru.

"I had thought so, you are really good with your money. There is a cellphone waiting for you on your dresser." She smiled at him.

Sesshoumaru nodded, "Thank you." He made his way to his room.

Inuyasha walked back into the room, Thank you mom. This is awesome." He picked up his stuff and ran to his room. He closed the door and dumped out his clothes. In his pants were still the dice.

With them in his hand he made his way out of his room and to his brother's.
