Chapter 6

Sango had tears streaming down her face. Miroku wouldn't even answer her calls, so she was thinking the worse. After she had called Kagome nearly half an hour ago she had called Miroku again only to get nothing again. When she finally heard Sesshoumaru's car pull up she ran to the door and out into the driveway. Once Kagome was out of the car Sango threw her arms around her.

Sesshoumaru watched Sango cry on Kagome's shoulder. There was something he found disturbing about Sango crying, she was so strong all the time. On the way over he had called Miroku and also got nothing, he didn't answer the phone. That meant there was something wrong, more than just what happened the previous night. "Sango."

She looked over Kagome's shoulder at Sesshoumaru, "Yeah?"

"Do you want me to leave?"

Sango shook her head, "No, I need you here in case Kagome wants to kill Miroku after I tell her what happened."

He nodded and followed the girls into Sango's house. Kohaku was at Kagome's for the weekend so Sango was all alone. The house was a large one compared to most houses in the area. Not far from Kagome’s house, but nearly an hour drive from his place; if you drove the speed limit that is.

They sat down in the living room and Sango started to tell them what happened at the party. She and Miroku had gone up into one of the rooms up stairs and had sex, both of them were drunk. Miroku drove her home and put her to bed, then left. She was asleep by this time, and then tried to call him that morning after she woke up and got nothing. Also trying his cell got her nowhere.

Kagome was sitting next to Sango holding her sobbing friend; she was looking at Sesshoumaru though. That party changed a lot, and not just for them it seemed either. "Sango, Sesshoumaru tried to call him too and he didn't answer for him either. Maybe there is more behind this than we think."

"Maybe..."

"Do you really think he would do such a thing to you? You are everything to him Sango." Sesshoumaru was serious; being around Miroku was a headache. All he ever talked about was Sango. "I highly doubt this has anything to do with you." His phone rang; though he could have sworn he put it on vibrate. "Hello?"

The look on Sesshoumaru's face made Kagome freeze. "What is it?"

"Why are you there? I thought you and your new whore were going to her house." He growled, "You told her mother what? Why did you do that Inuyasha?"

Next to Kagome Sango's eyes went wide and she said, "Whore?"

His eyes were cold, "You figured she knew? Do you have any idea what you just did? I-Do not interrupt me Inuyasha!" He hung up on his brother and blocked out Inuyasha's number.

"What happened Sesshoumaru?"

"Inuyasha went to your house to introduce Kikyo to you and was amazed to find that you weren't there. He then told her that you weren't at our house after Sango said you were." He closed his eyes, "Then he asked your mother what she thought about the dice."

"What?!"

"Yes, and then told her that I had them for the time being."

"He is so dead." She hit her hand in emphasis and was about to go into more detail about his death when Sesshoumaru's phone vibrated. "Are you gonna get that?"

He picked it up fully expecting Inuyasha again, but was completely surprised to hear another voice. "Yeah, I left a message. Where have you been?"

On the other end Miroku said, "I turned the ringer down on the phone and unplugged the answering machine. I have one hell of a hang over. My head is pounding."

Sesshoumaru waved his hand at Kagome when she asked who it was. He left the living room wanting privacy to ask Miroku about what happened. When he was far enough away from the girls and actually out of the house he said, "You shouldn't have drank so much, you know that."

"I know, but it was a party and the weekend too. I couldn't help it."

"Do you remember anything that happened last night?"

Very slowly Miroku said, "Yeah...why?"

"Does a certain action with Sango come to mind?"

"Wha-how do you know about that?"

"I'm at Sango's house with Kagome right now. She's crying because she thinks you regret last night or that you were just using her." he had to pull the phone away from his ear because of Miroku's reaction.

"WHAT?! SHE THINKS THAT?! WHY!?"

"Because she has called you repeatedly this morning and you haven't answered once."

"I just got up." He grumbled something under his breath and then said, "I have to go Fluffy-kins. Talk to you later." Then he hung up before Sesshoumaru could yell at him for the name calling.

He walked back into the house planning Miroku's death. When he entered the living room Kagome and Sango looked up at him. He shook his head, not really wanting to talk about the soon-to-be dead teen. As soon as Sango's phone rang Sesshoumaru knew why Miroku had to go.

Sango picked it up, "Hello?" When her eyes widened Sesshoumaru chuckled.

"That was Miroku that called me. He unplugged his answering machine and turned down the ring on his phone all the way. He didn't even know Sango had called him. She never left a message on his cell phone." Sesshoumaru held his hand out to Kagome, "We should go; you need to talk with your mom."

Kagome nodded and looked over at Sango, "Do you want us to hang around for a little while?"

She shook her head, "No that's all right, but I'll give you a call later about things."

She instantly understood, Sango wanted to know what happened to cause her to be at Sesshoumaru's house last night without Inuyasha. "Alright, talk to you later." Kagome and Sesshoumaru left Sango in her living room to deal with Miroku and left.

As they walked down the driveway Sesshoumaru gave Kagome a sideways glance, she seemed like she wanted to say something. "Kagome?"

Kagome jumped, "What? Oh, sorry I was just thinking." She looked down and bit her lip, "Would it be alright for me to tell Sango about us?" A blush stained her cheeks, "Not our sex life, but that we're dating." She had hurried past the last part as if she was afraid to say it.

Sesshoumaru stopped her, "Only if you want to tell her, I do not care as long as you want her to know. And we are dating Kagome."

"I know, but after all these years it's a little hard to believe that you're mine." She blushed darker, "I mean-"

His lips cut off her attempt to backtrack. When he pulled away he smiled at her, "I am yours and you are mine."

Her smile widened, "I love you Sesshoumaru."

"I love you too Kagome. Now come on, we have to repair the damage Inuyasha did."

They walked to his car hand in hand.

Kagome winced at her mother's shouting. Since she had walked in the door her mother had been yelling at her for not being with Inuyasha and for not calling to tell her where she was. "Mom! Wait-"

"No young lady. You were to stay with Inuyasha at this party you went to. You weren't at Inuyasha's, you weren't at Sango's, and you weren't at Miroku's. Where were you?!"

"I was at Inuyasha's house."

Her mother's eyebrows rose, "Is that so? Then why did he say you weren't there?"

"He didn't know I was there. I didn't want to be at the party anymore so I left. I-"

"How did you get to Inuyasha's?"

Sesshoumaru interrupted Kagome's answer, "I took her. She caught me before I left and I took her to our house."

Kagome's mother looked surprised, "You did? Then why didn't Inuyasha know you were there?"

"I-I didn't want to see him, so I stayed in Sesshoumaru's room on the floor." Tears stung the backs of her eyes, "He brought his new girlfriend over, and then left before I got up."

Seeing what the problem was right away her mother relaxed, "Oh honey." She wrapped her arms around her daughter.

Kagome started to cry again. She looked over her mother's shoulder at Sesshoumaru; he looked like he wanted to get a hug too. An involuntary laugh escaped Kagome at that thought. Her eyes met his and she looked at him appreciatively, "Thank you."

"Oh Kagome I am your mother, I'm here whenever you need me."

Not wanted to stay around any longer in fear of saying or doing something, Sesshoumaru cleared his throat, "I will be leaving."

Kagome's mom turned to Sesshoumaru, "Thank you so much for being there for Kagome when she needed someone."

He nodded and with a longing look, left.
