Inuyasha looked stupefied as he watched Hitomi pull his beloveds' heart from the cavity in her chest, than to take a bite and watch it turn to dust. He felt his brother nudge him and give him one of those don't lose it now you stupid pitiful excuse for a demon, get up and fight looks. Soon a blinding pink light filtered the air and he felt Kagome's energy surround them, he felt her anguished grief and this saddened him, he saw Miroku tear his robes and fall to the ground looking up at the sky.

Yes, he heard everything that was being said because he used this time to free himself. With one last tug using some of his energy he was able to melt the binding away.

“You'll pay for what you did Hitomi.”

Hitomi whirled around to see the inu youkai brothers coming at her in a full attack. Inuyasha's sword turned to the hard adamant and he swung it sending flying shards in her direction piercing her body as they flew by. Sesshomaru than took his and with a fluid movement a blue dragon came forth encircling her and squeezing her. Hitomi gritted her teeth in pain. The brothers danced around her taking shots trying to weaken her powers.

Hitomi broke the binding dragon and started to gather the energy within her. Soon dark purple electricity was bouncing off of her in waves and hit them when ever they got in to close trying to get in a good direct hit.

“Fools, absolute idiots…You obviously don't know who the fuck I am! I am not a youkai nor am I a human I a freakin goddess! You hold no power over me!”

“Inuyasha.” Sesshomaru yelled out, “let me handle this.”

“No, you're not going to have this hanging over my damn head, she was my mate so this is my job, I'll finish this.”

Inuyasha snarled out. Going into a crouching position and bringing his blade to the rear of him where it appeared as if the tip of his blade sat behind him, he swung the weapon and a torrential rainfall of shards flew and as they were flying he called out his next attack using the back lash wave, when that went out he called out his third, Wind scar. All three hurled at the young woman and hit her hard. She shimmered and fell to the ground. Her eyes were void and the three men left were encircling her.

“Is…is she dead?” Inuyasha asked.

“No…her aura is badly hurt, but, she is pulling herself together rather quickly. It seems that no matter what attacks you throw at her she needs someone very powerful to purify her.”

Miroku stated. Pulling into his pant pocket he pulled out some more sutras. He threw them in her direction and she hissed. A circle was formed around her body and Miroku shoved his Shokanju into the ground.

“What is it that you plan to do monk?” Sesshomaru asked curiously, for in essence this was the monks' daughter.

Miroku began to chant as tears were streaking his beautifully masculine features. Memories of his daughter running through the grass, pointing at the animals in the park all flashed in his head. The memory of his daughter crying as he watched on a video her rape that day in the courtroom. The look she gave him when she caught him with that hooker and broke her heart.

“I'm…going to kill her Sesshomaru. Both you and Inuyasha please be ready to strike for she is going to be pissed as hell if I don't succeed. I don't know if I'm…strong enough to end her, but, I can slow her down for you to…to…dispose of her.”

The two brothers sat crouched waiting for her. They heard her gasping in pain.
Her skin was turning a purplish hue and her eyes becoming black as she struggled with the spiritual energy of Miroku's.

“Daddy…why? Why are you hurting me?” She cried out in manipulative weak voice a voice so much like his sweet Hotaru. Her face contorting in pain and suffering and…remorse albeit falsified. Miroku shut his eyes in pain, knowing that he had to destroy her; this was not his daughter, his daughter perished. He had to hold out a little longer, just a little. If he knew his Kagome…this fight wasn't over.

“Daddy…please…I promise…ow…ow…daddy it burns….please I promise…I'll be a good girl….ow daddy!!!” She wailed.

Miroku bit his tongue and tasted the copper of his blood. Hearing her cries was hurting his soul. He began to waver.

“Don't listen to her monk; she is not your daughter.” Sesshomaru screamed as he saw her energy magnifying in the circle she was in. It was like a bubble growing and growing. Inuyasha was having a hard time as well listening to her pleads, but his brother was right.

“Hang in there Miroku, don't let her win.”

Hitomi stood up slowly within her sphere and smiled wickedly her eyes dry with no remorse or repenting.

“Oh well, it was worth a shot?” She said as blood trickled from her mouth. Miroku began to perspire as he continued to chant. His body began to form a glow around it.

“What the hell is going on?” Inuyasha shouted.

“It appears the monk is using his spiritual energy to…” Sesshomaru was cut off as purple rays of electricity hit the ground at them all, yet the only one not affected was Miroku who enclosed himself in a spiritual barrier.

Miroku was using all his power trying to make the bubble smaller, but Hitomi was putting up a fight. Using her dark lightning she kept striking the ground around her trying to break him. Miroku loosing his powers bent down on one knee continued his chant sweat dripping off him.

“Miroku!” Inuyasha yelled he flipped his blade and began an all out attack on the girl when he felt a heavy hand catch his shoulder.

“If you break the barrier that the monk has placed you'll kill him.”

“Yeah, but if I don't do anything she'll kill him anyway.” He shot back annoyed. He already saw Shippo, Hotaru and Kagome die, did he have to see Miroku die as well.

Flash back by the well house before Inuyasha returned to his time.

“Inuyasha, I am truly sorry. You are my best friend and I…and I took…it for granted. I never meant to hurt you. Neither did Kagome. Please if you love my daughter…please forgive me Inuyasha.”

Miroku prostrated himself humbly toward Inuyasha. Inuyasha had no earthly idea how to take it. He smelt the salt on Miroku's face and groaned. `Damn he's crying again.'

Miroku looked up, his eyes so much like Hotaru's

“Please forgive me Inuyasha.”

“I…shit…it's all in the past right, damn it stupid monk; now get the hell up.” Miroku stood up and bowed lowly toward his old friend.

“Thank you Inuyasha…thank you.”

Inuyasha flushed and turned his head to the side folding his arms in his usual stance. “On one condition.” Miroku looked up at him now confused.

“What…anything…”

“ ;Don't leave Kagome. I have a feeling she's really going to need you…and…for the most part…I think…she's learned her lesson. Tell her that I forgive her ok.”

And with that…he jumped into the well.

End flashback

There was Miroku losing his ground. His face red with sweat and pain, however, he kept chanting.

“This is all your fault daddy, aren't you going to atone for what you've done? All this is your fault for being a lush. You brought me here, you made it all possible. You didn't have to take Kagome and fuck her. I bet you did it thinking about Sango didn't you, yeah, poor Kagome lost the man she's waited for and you weren't even thinking about her, I wasn't even conceived in love, so, how was I ever expected to get it.”

Miroku's eyes widened he began to lose his concentration and with that small bit of a crack she charged a large blast of energy at him and broke through the blue spiritual sphere and Miroku went flying.

“Miroku!!!! Bastard, I'll get you for this Hitomi.”

Her dark glare steadied on him. “I thought you hated him? Didn't you want to take vengeance against him for stealing your woman? Isn't that the real reason you seduced us?”

`What is this feeling? It's so warm, so….calm.' Hotaru opened her eyes and noticed that she was surrounded by pink light. `Where am I?'

“Here in my heart Hotaru.”

`Mom?'

“Yes, Hotaru I am here sweet heart.”

`I…I don't understand…I thought I…died.'

“Your body did, but not your essence. You still have a fight to finish and I am going to give you what you need to finish that fight…Hotaru.”

`I don't understand where will you be?' Hotaru felt her chest grow hot and glow red from beneath her spiritual form. “Here in your heart and in your memory. Honey, I am so sorry I screwed up your life, I am so sorry I wasn't strong enough.” Soon the voice she heard became a shadow of pure light as she saw her mothers figure floating in front of her and felt Kagome embrace her.

“I love you sweetheart, you're my baby. I'm so sorry that I was a lousy mother.”

Hotaru had tears falling from her face. “Stop mom, you're not going anywhere, you can't!”

“I've always known that I had to do this, I've dreamt of my death now for several years and I was always so scared of it. But, now that I see the entire picture I'm not so scared anymore.”

Hotaru watched as her mother started to decline age wise back to a fifteen year old ghost of a girl, when she was her bravest. “Hotaru you need to purify the other half of who you are and I am here to help you and all those who've also been entrusted to protect you through me.”

Hotaru shook her head in the negative. “Mom I don't want you to die, please don't leave me…who…who will I have now? Please don't go.” She felt her mother kiss her on her forehead and with that kiss she saw all of Kagome's life leading up to this point including the dreams, the problems with her father and most importantly, she knew how much her mother truly loved her. She gave her one more hug and then in pink dust was gone and left Hotaru crying in the pink haze.

`Hotaru you have the power to make all of your wishes come true, your strong cheer up, you are not alone anymore…you have to fulfill your destiny and fulfill Inuyasha's true wish…make him happy sweetheart and you…be happy.'
--------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------

Pink light started to descend down upon Miroku while he was past out on the ground. `Miroku…Miroku wake up…'

“Kagome?” he mumbled as he sat up in the darkness of his mind. `Of coarse it's me. Who else would it be you shamless flirt.' Miroku opened his eyes and focused on the pink aura that was coming toward him and he couldn't believe his eyes. What he saw was a young Kagome in her school uniform surrounded by pink spiritual energy. Tears welled up in his eyes. “Kagome, I failed you…I didn't protect you as I should have…if you were with Inu…” He felt a warm finger land on his lips and happy eyes looking into his.

`Don't you dare say it Miroku.' Then her eyes changed to ones filled with love and pride. `I love you Miroku, don't ever think other wise. I'm so sorry for making you think that I didn't love you as a man…as my man. I did, I just felt so guilty for taking Sango away from you. The one thing I never told you was that I had a chance to save her and I blew it because I was too weak, I lost myself in my adventure and became weak. I ask for your forgiveness for being weak.'

“Kagome, don't be…silly…there's nothing to forgive, I ask that if you would forgive me for being foolish for I love you too.” He smiled lightheartedly while the whole time his heart was breaking into pieces. Kagome cupped his face into her hands. `Maybe we'll meet again in another life, one where there is no pain and betrayal and maybe you will ask me again to bear your children and maybe then again I will smack you but give you all the children you want.' There were tears streaming down her face as she kissed his lips for the last time and with that kiss he felt and saw all her emotions pouring forth from her small body. And with that she was gone only he heard a ghost of a whisper “I love you Miroku….”

Miroku stood up tall and proud, yes; this was what his dream meant. He was going to have to leave this world too and find his Kagome in another time and place once he saves his daughter and places her in the arms of his long time friend. He picked up his spiritual staff and made a prayer as purple energy started to swirl around him stronger than it was before.

Hitomi turned around and dismissed Inuyasha as he was making his speech about how bad he was going to kick her ass. “I don't have time for you right now puppy, Daddy's back to give me a spanking.” She smiled darkly, twistedly causing her natural beauty to show its ugly side.

“I think I'm a little too old for you to discipline me daddy don't you think?”

“A child is never too old to be held in check by her parents.” Lifting the Shokanju up in the air then striking it down flat on the ground a purple light zigzagged its way and shocked the hell out of Hitomi causing her to fall to the ground with steam rising off of her body. She snarled as she was about to counter attack when a blinding light caused all of them to cease whatever it was that they were doing.

Hotaru touched down with soft lavender transparent wings and nothing else but her light purple aura mixed with pink. Her eyes were nothing but pinkish purple light as tears were streaming down her face. Once she hit the ground she collapsed onto the soft grass not far from Inuyasha.

“Hotaru!!” Both Inuyasha and Miroku screamed out. Inuyasha made a mad dash toward his woman but Hitomi who was not that far in front of him glared at him. With a wicked gleam in her eye she started to make her comment. “You know what Inuyasha you bore me; it seems that I don't need you after all, you should know this saying by heart….die Inuyasha.”

A dark wave of electricity flowed on the ground toward Inuyasha and Hotaru. Miroku who was on the opposite side of Hotaru at that time jumped in his path and threw his Shokanju toward Inuyasha and his daughter and formed a barrier around them. Inuyasha watched shocked as his old friend protected him, he watched as the lighting rod protruded his chest causing thick blood to splatter up against the barrier.

With wide eyes and touching the barrier where Miroku landed Inuyasha screamed out “Idiot! Why in the hell did you do that?!”. Miroku looking tired and sheepish just shrugged his shoulders. “Just like old times eh? Please Inuyasha protect my daughter, tell her…” Miroku smiled peacefully as he fell first on his knees and then his face hit the ground “…tell her I'm sorry I wasn't the dad I've always dreamed to be…”

`Kagome…I'm coming…wait for me...'

“Miroku!! Miroku you bastard get up!! Get up damn it!! Miroku!!!”

Purple energy swirled around Miroku and then went toward his staff. Hotaru's hand weakly reached out to grab it and she felt the power of her father pass through her. `Wake up sweetheart, daddy is here to help.'

Sesshomaru watching in awed curiosity found the weak spot and was about to strike the dark creature when she was recovering from the last attack when he heard a strong voice in his ears the sound causing his flesh to rise into little bumps.

“No.”

Was the simple request, he stopped and looked toward Inuyasha and saw his brother standing there looking at the very angelic looking woman kneeling there holding her fathers staff with other worldly elegance. Everything started to bloom as Hotaru's eyes were now nothing but pure white voids. Her hair turned pinkish white as it was flying wildly behind her.

“I'm sorry for all the trouble I've caused so, I will eradicate the problem.”

Hitomi snarling like a mad bull flared up her powers to destroy everything that Hotaru had just brought to life.

“Bitch, I'd like to see you try and this time I'm going to make sure that you stay dead.”

Hotaru smiled as she felt the spot where her heart was. “They truly did love me. I feel their love within my body, and because of their love, they willed me to live, so I will not lose to you because they loved me so that also means that they loved you too since you are a part of me.”

Hitomi foamed at the mouth as transparent purplish black wings formed behind her and so there they stood in a stand off for the final battle.
