Betrayal
Chapter Four:

Kagome snuggled deep into the soft hairs. A soft breeze blew and she yawned. When she opened her eyes, she noticed Sango and Kikyo riding Kilala while Miroku rode her bike with Shippo. Turning to her other side, she saw Sesshomaru running with a dragon following behind carrying a girl and toad. She felt hands under her knees and her nose caught the scent of Inu Yasha. Her heart skipped a beat when she heard his voice. “Hey sleep well?”
“Inu Yasha, where are we? What time is it?”
“We’re heading up to see Totosai, Tetsusaiga’s been a little dull so I’m going to see if he can repair it before we continue looking for Naraku. Your clock or whatever says its one fifteen.”
“I’m sorry, for sleeping so late.”
“Feh, don’t worry about it, you did stay up late last night, because of that damn night scare. Just promise me you’ll let me accompany you on your little walks for now on?”
“Okay, I promise.” She nodded. Inu Yasha heard a small yawn come from her and smiled.
“Why don’t you go back to sleep okay, you sound like you need it.”
“But the shards,”
“I think we can take care of it,” Inu Yasha felt her nod and rest against his back. He was worried for her; the scent he picked up this morning was not good. Her heat cycle had begun and after what he had heard from Sesshomaru. It made things worse. He wanted to bring her back to her time, but that would mean explaining things to her mother. If that happened he was sure, Kagome would never be with him again. He wanted to talk to Kagome about it, but Sesshomaru told him that morning that Kagome did not want him to know. That ticked the hanyou off, but if he had to keep his mouth shut for Kagome then he would do just that. A scent in the air caught his attention and Inu Yasha cursed. “Damn it all to hell, Sesshomaru take Kagome will you?”
“Would it be simpler if I destroyed the pest for you?”
“No, Right now feels like a good time to get rid of some pent up frustration.” The hanyou passed Kagome to Sesshomaru careful of her wounds and walked a few feet ahead of his pack. A shadow slithered toward the hanyou.
“The jewel, give it to me, Give me the fragments of the Shikon.”
“Feh haven’t you learned any manners? Your supposed to say please first!”
“Filthy little hanyou, don’t treat me so irrespectively, I might just have to give you a lesson.” The shadowy creature formed up into and female body. Its skin was pure white and her hair blonde. Her ruby colored eyes flashed and long white fangs glistened form her lips. Inu Yasha looked her up and down and scoffed.
“You are going to teach me a lesson?”
“Listen cutie” She hissed. “Looks can be deceiving. Now hand over the jewel shards,”
“Feh, I don’t think so.” he saw her pout and sigh.
“Ohm, I didn’t want to dirty my claws today, but you leave me no choice.” She ran at him claws flexed. Inu Yasha did the same and caught her wrists. She whined and kicked at his chest lifting into the air. She lashed out with dark purple beams similar to the hanyou’s blades of blood but they doubled in size. Inu Yasha cut through it and watch how it splashed onto him and his clothing. He tried to move and found himself in capable to do so. The shadow Youkai giggled at his fight. “Silly puppy you can’t escape my claws of paralysis. No one can.”
“Damn you,”
“Oh hush,” She jumped in the air calling for her attack again. This stopped everyone from moving. Jaken squawked at his lord.
“S-Sire I can’t move,”
“Lord Sesshomaru!”
“Get this off me,” Miroku shouted trying to move his arms. The woman laughed and walked over to the great dog Lord. She looked down at Kagome and smiled.
“So pretty maybe I should take this one with me,”
“Don’t touch her!
“Oh hush Hanyou, I only want to play.” The Youkai purred licking at Kagome’s neck. With a sad little moan, she shook her head. “Oh dear, it smell like she’s already has friends to play with, but no matter. It will only be more exciting.” She ran her finger down to Kagome’s tummy and nuzzled it with her nose. “Yes, the scents are so very strong. This one is in heat too… AH, what’s this?” She sniffed at Kagome’s tummy and giggled. “Oh, I see,” Inu Yasha tried his best to twist is head about to see what she was doing. Sesshomaru growled at the Youkai his arms shaking slightly.
“Let go of her demon or I will kill you nice and slowly,”
“What are you going to do about it, you can hardly move.” She giggled. Kagome whimpered and the demon cooed to her. “Hush little momma, I’m not going to hurt you.” Kagome eyes widened as the demon lifted her up.
“Let go of me,”
“No, you have something I need I promise won’t hurt you.” Kagome’s eyes darkened.
“You should let go of me,”
“Why should I do that?”
“Because I don’t want to hurt you, but if you don’t listen, you will die.” Kagome warned. The demon shook her head.
“NO, I want the Shikon and you have it, besides you’re energy levels are too low. You’ll kill yourself with how much strength you use.” Kagome sighed and muttered.
“Fine, don’t say I didn’t warn you.” The demon looked at the girl and felt her body burning in pain. Kagome was let down and she watched the Youkai scratch at her body.
“What did you do to me?”
“I’m purifying you. Can you not feel my powers cleaning your tainted blood?” Kagome’s eyes flashed red as she stood. Her claws appeared at the ends of her fingers and the shadow looked up at her. “So very tainted, so dark,”
“Stop it! I swear I’ll kill you if you don’t stop!”
“I warned you, a head of time and now this is your punishment for harming my friends.” Kagome stopped in front of the shadows quivering body and lifted her hand. “And now, I’ll end your life.”
As she severed the demon’s head, the group stared at her. Shippo shut his eyes, as did Rin. The body turned to dust and they were free to move. Kagome’s body became limp and she passed out.
“Kagome,” The group cried out. Sesshomaru and Inu Yasha jumped to her aid.
“Wench come on get up,” Inu Yasha shook her gently. “Kagome get up right now!”
“Miko Kagome opens your eyes now,” Sesshomaru growled. Kagome whimpered snuggling deep into the Tai youkai’s chest. Kikyo stood over them.
“She will be fine, too much of her miko was used which caused her to collapse, Bed rest is what she needs.”
“Are you positive onna?”
“My reincarnate will be fine, in a few days she will wake up a great deal better.”
Sesshomaru was going to comment on her rudeness, but noticed whom she grabbed onto Inu Yasha. “We should continue our Journey Inu Yasha; it will begin to rain soon.”
“Right, Sesshomaru, let’s go.”
“Inu Yasha what of the demon,” Miroku interrupted.
“What of her, Kagome killed the wench.”
“No, what she said, what did she mean by ‘Little Momma’?” The hanyou Paused for a minute before answering.
“How am I supposed to know, the wench was out of her head.” Sesshomaru lifted Kagome and Inu Yasha walked away. “You take her for Now Sesshomaru, if she came with me she’ll just wake up again.” Kikyo climbed onto Kilala and Miroku took his place on Kagome’s bike. Sesshomaru looked at Kagome’s face finding her sleeping contently and sniffed at her neck. Kouga’s scent was still on her, but he could not detect any sign of pregnancy. Rin called out to him.
“Will Kagome be okay lord Sesshomaru?”
“She will be fine Rin; all she’ll need is plenty of rest.” Sango called to Miroku as the demons started.
“Do you think what Inu Yasha said is true about that demon, was she just playing tricks?”
“The only way to find out Sango is if we see anything. If not then Inu Yasha’s right and the shadow Youkai was lying.”
“Why would she lie about something like that?”
“Maybe to get and advantage, to try and make us give our shards up so easily.”
“What if she is true in what she says?”
Then we will ask Kagome,” Miroku stated simply. Sango frowned at him. Kikyo smirked.
‘Silly little humans they care so much for Kagome, and yet Kagome betrayed them all. What will happen when the biggest secret my reincarnate hides is finally out in the open? Her friends will be so heart broken when they find she slept with Naraku.’

“Naraku, Kikyo is getting a head of herself. Shouldn’t you stop her?”
“Kagura, Kagura, Kagura,” The dark hanyou mused. “You also forgot that I too made a little deal with Kikyo. She will not reveal anything about the small miko and me. If she does then she will lose as well.”
“Just what is it Kikyo wants?”
“She wants the hanyou all to herself. She wants Kagome to be miserable and the only way to do that is destroy any hope of Inu Yasha getting close to her reincarnate. The hanyou still has strong feelings for her and Kikyo will do anything to get Kagome out of the way.”
“Is that why you told Kagome that Kikyo was Inu Yasha intended? So that Kagome would stop fighting for the Hanyou?”
“You’re not as stupid as I thought Kagura.” Naraku chuckled. Kagura snapped her fan shut at his remark. “Kikyo is panicking over the situation between him and Kagome. After the miko heals, all his attention will return to the undead woman. Once Kagome recovered fully, I will then be able have my way yet again with her. That is if I can sneak around Sesshomaru’s senses.”
“You were not expecting him to join his brother?”
“No, but I was expecting the wolf, you see the Tai Youkai is boring to watch. All he does is wandering about, but the wolf. His anger built up over the past few weeks. I was expecting him to take his anger out on someone,”
“You were expecting him to rape a poor defenseless girl! That’s low Naraku,”
“I was expecting the wolf to go after me and get killed in the process, not to go and rape my soon to be mate.”
“You ‘soon to be’,”
“Yes, after the wolf took his rage out on Kagome last night he removed the mark I already placed on her. I will have to do it again.”
“When is this happening may I ask?”
“Now, now, Kagura, that’s not of your concern. What you need to worry about is trailing the wolf and getting his shards for me.”
“Yes, Naraku,” She sighed tiredly. Naraku turned back to his mirror and watched the group travels up a mountainside in the cold harsh rain.
‘What will you do now?’

“Feh, shut up will you, we’re almost there.” The hanyou watched as a burst of flames came toward him.
“Demons get off my property! Leave this place or I’ll use your bones for my weapons!” Inu Yasha thumped the old man.
“Totosai should have known you’d pull something this stupid.”
“Oh If it isn’t the pain in the- oh I mean Inu Yasha! What brings you to my home?”
“Tetsusaiga needs some repairs, Think you can handle it?”
“Of course I can, I created this sword and I can- Ack Sesshomaru what’s he doing here!”
“Old man, I am traveling with Inu Yasha,”
“You’re traveling with Inu Yasha? That’s interesting-” The old man hid behind Inu Yasha’s back.
“I would appreciate it if you allowed us inside your supposed home,” Sesshomaru said in a threatening tone. Totosai jumped.
“Yes, yes please come inside, come inside!” The old man led them into his house of old bones and Sesshomaru stood holding Kagome. The group looked about at the dust-filled house. “Sorry if it’s a bit untidy I never have guests.”
“You call this a bit untidy? Old man, it was spotless when I cleaned it!” Inu Yasha shouted. “You lazy old goat,” Totosai ducked form the hanyou.
“Well you hear that? Sounds like teas done!” Sango looked around.
“I don’t hear anything,”
“It’s Totosai’s way of escaping-” Miroku whispered. Kikyo pulled one of the rags of the table and started swiping down a spot to sit in. Inu Yasha just took a large broom and dusted down the walls and floor. Rin sneezed and Jaken squawked.
“Ack, you disgust me! Cover your mouth!”
“Jaken you will not speak to Rin In anyway or form.”
“I’m Sorry lord Sesshomaru it’s just do dusty here.”
“Don’t worry about it Rin, just cover your mouth next time you feel like sneezing.”
“Yes!” Sango and Miroku blinked at the lord and blinked at each other. All they could say in their minds was. ‘Whoa,’
“Damn that old fool how can he stand this crap! I swear I’m gonna kill him,” A whimper made him turn his head. Sesshomaru held onto Kagome as she tried turning in his arms. “Just what are you doing to her?”
“This Sesshomaru is doing nothing; the miko is trying to get comfortable.” The hanyou swept a large spot on the floor and set her bag down.
“Let her sleep there. Her blankets and whatever are in her pack,”
“I am aware of that Little brother,” Sesshomaru moved to set Kagome down, but she clung to his chest. “Miko let go,”
“No… stay… no…” She yawned. Sesshomaru tried to free himself from her grasp and could not. Kagome whimpered some more tightening her hold on him.
“Miko Kagome you must let This Sesshomaru go,”
“Lord Sesshomaru, maybe Kagome’s having a bad dream like me and wants you to help her scare it away!” Rin declared. “Can I lay down with you and Miss Kagome too?” Sesshomaru was going to decline, but the hold Kagome had on his kimono and the pout Rin was giving him changed his mind. Settling himself between the wall and Kagome’s body Sesshomaru allowed Rin to lie with them. He saw the look on his brother’s face and grumbled.
“Make one remark Inu Yasha and This Sesshomaru will cut you down.”
“I wasn’t going to say a damn thing Sesshomaru, except to keep your hands where I can see them,”
“I have no intention of touching the miko.” Kagome sighed and snuggled deep into his chest now. Inu Yasha laughed loudly and that is when Totosai came in with nine cups of steaming tea.
“Here’s the tea, where’d That Sesshomaru go?”
“He’s lying beside Kagome on her bag. Rin’s there too.” Totosai looked over at him and sighed.
“At least he can’t get me- Hey!” Sesshomaru’s whip lashed the old man in the back.
“Care to try again you old fool?”
“No, I think, I’ll pass.” Totosai ran over to Miroku with the tea and gave him a glass. Every one else got theirs and Totosai vanished again. Inu Yasha examined the glass.
“Who wants to have Kagome’s tea instead? I’ll get the water and firewood for it.”
“Sango and I will get the cups and things form her pack. Shippo why don’t you go and see what our friend Totosai is doing.”
“Gotcha,” Kikyo stood there doing nothing as the group did their small tasks. She looked at her reincarnate and saw Sesshomaru glaring at her. She stared at him for a while until moving toward Kagome’s bag. She pulled out a book Kagome has let her borrow and started reading it. Kagome snuggled closer to Sesshomaru and the Tai Youkai grumbled low. Rin played with her hair.
“Lord Sesshomaru, do you think that I’ll have hair just like Kagome-sama when I grow up? Hers is so pretty.”
“It’s possible Rin,”
“Do you think that the demon was after Kagome hair? Is that why she was after Kagome-sama,”
“Feh, that demon was just out of her head. Kagome killed Yura of the hair a while back.”
“Yura of the hair,”
“Yeah, she was another weird ass wench. She controlled people with using hair and nearly killed me because she wanted mine. Kagome found the source of her power or where all the hair was coming from and killed it, killing Yura in the process.”
“Wow, is that true Sesshomaru-sama, were you there?”
“No I was not, but I will not doubt miko Kagome’s powers.” Kikyo narrowed her gaze as she continued reading. Miroku nodded.
“Kagome has gotten stronger these past few years, even though she may not fight as much as the rest of us. When we found Naraku’s palace for the first time, she nearly shot down Naraku, but he managed to escape.”
“We’ve all learned many lessons from Kagome.”
“Lord Sesshomaru do you think I could learn things from Kagome-sama too?”
“Once she is healed, I will ask her.” Rin nodded.
“Thank you Lord Sesshomaru!”
“Inu Yasha This sword is so abused! Why do you ignore me when I say you must treat it with respect?”
“It isn’t my fault I’ve been in a lot of battles! Tell Naraku to cut his crap then maybe Tetsusaiga would be in better condition.” The hanyou scoffed. Totosai cried petting the fang’s blade.
“You poor thing treated so badly by your master! Why, Why,”
“Just what are you doing to my Tetsusaiga old man?” The hanyou grabbed it and kicked the old man knocking him unconscious. Examining the blade closely he turned to the toad.
“Jaken you fix it will ya?”
“M, me,”
“You heard me, you did it before didn’t you, and at least I don’t have to worry about you going to melt it down to scraps.” Inu Yasha flung Tetsusaiga at the toad and Jaken squeaked. “Just like last time you got that?”
“But, but-”
“Jaken if you did it before do it again,” Sesshomaru ordered coolly. Jaken nodded.
“Aye Sire!” Sesshomaru watched the toad hurry off into the small room in the back. His brother sat next to Kikyo.
“Because of something the miko said to me. Do you love her?”
“Of course I fucking do you idiot! I’d kill that wolf a hundred times over!”
‘Tell me Little brother, if you love this woman then why are you sitting over there fawning over a pot of clay and bones?’
Kagome’s small sobs broke through his thoughts.
“Please don’t Kouga, I’m sorry, I’m sorry!” Her eyes shed small tears that dripped down her cheeks onto his sleeve. “Don’t- let go please, you’re hurting me,’

“You tainted wench, how could you sell yourself like that!”
“Kouga please stop, you’re hurting me!”
“Too bad,” He snarled. He tossed Kagome on the bed of furs and growled. “I want my turn you belong to me and only me!”
“KOUGA, Stop it, please,”
“Wolf let her alone!”
“Inu Yasha, you’re here,” Kagome sighed. The wolf looked at the Hanyou growling.
“Let me show her who she belongs to.” Inu Yasha jumped on her biting into her neck. She tensed under him. Kouga climbed onto the bed as well clawing her skin. “What’s the matter Kagome, I thought you wanted me?”
“Not like this-Not like This!”
“Feh you don’t get to make the decisions wench, I do.” he squeezed her breasts harshly and growled. Kagome felt Kouga rake his teeth against her thigh and sobbed quietly. She felt her skirt torn away and screamed at the unwelcome feeling of clawed hands inside her. Inu Yasha slapped her. “When will you learn Kagome? Just keep your mouth shut! Wolf, I thought I said that I’d do this!” Inu Yasha snarled and felt Kagome slide higher. “Where are you going? No one said you could leave,”
“I- I wasn’t- Ow Inu Yasha your hurting me.” Kagome cried. The said hanyou scoffed and pulled his robes off.
“Don’t whine at me Kagome, you wanted this didn’t you? You wanted me as your mate,” He spread her thighs wide and thrust himself in. Kagome bit her lip from the scream trying to rip from her throat. Inu Yasha kept grunting words at her. “This is what you wanted isn’t it, to lie beneath me and scream for me? To have me ravish you until the sun rise, to place my mark on you,” Kagome pushed at his arms and he caught them holding them above her head. “I never thought of you as the one I’d mate. So you better enjoy this while you can.” Kagome looked away staring at the wolf that gleamed at her. She shut her eyes and felt the hanyou continue to abuse her. A voice called to her,
“Miko, wake up, Miko,”
“What-”
“Miko Kagome Get Up now,”
“Who-”
“Miko Kagome-”

“Miko Kagome, wake up,”
“Nnn,” Kagome groaned and opened her eyes. Her sight was blurry for a while and she saw someone looking straight at her. Rubbing her eyes to clear them she jumped away. “Sesshomaru,”
“Shh, miko,” he whispered. “Rin is asleep by your side. Kagome sniffled and looked at the young girl before throwing herself into Sesshomaru’s chest. He stared at her and heard her crying yet again. “Miko what has happened?”
“Kou-Kouga a-again, but it wasn’t Kouga- he wa-watched.” Sesshomaru lifted the miko to her feet and took her outside. Inu Yasha watched him carefully from his spot across the room. Kagome reached into her bag puling out her coat and Sesshomaru set it over her shoulders. The two made it outside without a word. Totosai, Miroku, and Sango stared at each other.
“What just happened?”
“Beats me, since when is that cold monster, Sesshomaru caring for women and children? By now he would have killed the woman-”
“Totosai, I think it’s safe to say that maybe there’s something going on that we don’t know about.” Miroku turned to Inu Yasha noticing his unease and whispered to Sango. “Do you think she’s trying to get Inu Yasha to notice her?”
“Why would she wake up crying then? If she wanted to get back at Inu Yasha she would have gone home and dated that Hojo boy.”
“Hojo,”
“You know the one that gives Kagome all sorts of gifts and things. The one who always smiles at her,”
“Mmm, I don’t think I re-”
“The one she said wouldn’t get the clue, the one that asks her out all the time?”
“Oh, the boy she doesn’t like in ‘that way’?”
“Yes, that’s Hojo,”
“You know, Kagome never told me a lot about that character Hojo, you want to maybe tell me more?”
“Fine, but be warned If you inch any closer or if I see that hand of yours drawing near me I’ll knock you into next month!”
“Of course dear Sango,” Miroku laughed weakly.******************************************************************** ************************************************************
“Jus t what went on in your dream Miko?”
“Kouga he was in my dream, but he didn’t do anything, he- he wanted to because he tried, but Inu Yasha stopped him and I thought Inu Yasha was going to rescue me and he didn’t.” She said quick and shakily. Sesshomaru sighed.
“Miko, I need the entire description, I will not understand if you rush through it like you did just now.” Kagome nodded but still rushed through her words. Sesshomaru shook his head once again. “Miko, I need to be able to understand what you are saying. Please, try again,” He asked softly. Kagome nodded ignoring the difference in Sesshomaru’s voice.
“My dream started where Kouga took me to his den, and threw me on his bed,”
“Yes, continue,”
“He wanted to take me like he did before, but he was stopped by who I thought was my savior.”
“And that is Inu Yasha?”
“Inu Yasha came and told him to stop, but after said that he wanted to show me who I belonged to, He jumped on me and started biting me, and Kouga tried to join in on it, but Inu Yasha told him no.” She breathed. “I tried to push him away, but then he said ‘what the matter Kagome, I t-thought you wanted me’. I told him that I did not want to be with him like that, and then he noticed me trying to get away. He asked where I was going and then forced himself on me,”
“He started talking about how he never wanted me and that Kikyo was always his and, and how I should enjoy it.” Sesshomaru turned toward the hut smelling his brother’s scent close by the entrance. Sesshomaru turned back to Kagome noticing her eyes looking in the same direction.
“Was there anything else Miko?” She looked at him and lied.
“No, Kouga just took me to his den and Inu Yasha-” Sesshomaru just cut her off with a curt nod and straightened.
“I will bring you to a spring or river near by so that you can bathe. Do you want this Sesshomaru to get your Pack?” Kagome sniffled and nodded.
“I’ll need my pack, my clothes are in there.”
“Will you want me to bring your taijiya friend as well? That way she’d help you instead of This Sesshomaru?”
“No, Sango can stay with Miroku, She can’t see my injuries because then she’ll ask about how I got them and I can’t lie to Sango. Then Inu Yasha will find out, from Sango and he will go and kill Kouga. And then-” As Sesshomaru listened to her go on he noticed how her voice continued to get raspy and worse then before.
“Miko, you do not need to continue you already told me all this last night correct?”
“Yes, but then I’ll have to go home because everyone will be angry, then when I tell mom and gramps they’ll be furious and Kick me out. Then I’ll have no where to go!”
“Miko if you continue to speak you will lose your voice,” He argued. “Come with me, I will get your pack and then take you to the river.”
“Thank you again Sessho-” Kagome’s voice caught in her throat and she tried to clear it. Sesshomaru watched her with knowing eyes. She sniffled rubbing her throat. “It’s … sore…”
“Of course it is sore, miko, did I not warn you?”
“Yes, but-”
“Don’t speak,” He ordered. Kagome nodded and covered her mouth. Once she got to the entrance, she immediately hid behind Sesshomaru. “Totosai, I need to find a nearby river or spring.”
“I have a bath-”
“I didn’t ask for a bath I asked for a river, Is there one suitable enough to bathe in near here?”
“Don’t know,”
“I know where it is,” Inu Yasha answered. “I’ll take you there, but I’ll warn you it is some way-”
“We’ll go, take the miko’s pack as well,” Kagome looked around from the Tai Youkai’s arm and saw Inu Yasha picking up her pack. She clutched onto the sleeve of Sesshomaru’s shirt shivering slightly. Sesshomaru averted his eyes toward her. “Are you the only one who knows where this river is?”
“Yes, I was the only one here to clean up after the old man! He said it was my training, the idiot.”
“Let’s go Inu Yasha we do not have all night.”
“Keep your shirt on. I’m coming,”

Inu Yasha was walking a few feet ahead of the Sesshomaru and Kagome as he cut branches down with his claws. His chest hurt, more specific, his heart. How could Kagome dream something like that with him being the assailant? Moreover, teaming up with Kouga to do so, He cut down another branch of the tree. Kagome watched him worriedly. She was still somewhat behind the Tai Youkai, but still watched him. He had anger in his eyes and the way he attacked the tree. Her grip on Sesshomaru’s arm got stronger and the demon shouted at his brother. “Your antics are scaring the miko, Inu Yasha,”
“Why Should I-” He paused looking back. “I’m sorry Kagome; Really, I was just thinking you know,”
“I- I’m okay really, you just scared me,” She managed. Sesshomaru grumbled.
“I thought I told you not to use your voice?”
“I’m sorry,”
“Hm,”
“Here we are finally the river. If you need anything Kagome, I’ll be watching for Miroku or any Youkai in this tree got it?” Kagome opened her mouth, but nodded and moved toward the river with Sesshomaru. Inu Yasha pulled his brother back and snarled. “Touch her in anyway, but what you’re supposed to do and I will make sure you never see the light of day again.”
“Calm down Little Brother, This Sesshomaru knows what he is doing.”
“And stop using that ‘This Sesshomaru’ garbage it’s annoying the hell out of me.”
“Good.” Sesshomaru turned and noticed that Kagome had undressed and stood in the river. Carefully he sorted through her bag pulling out the soaps Sango had told him about earlier. He also pulled out the brush and a clip for her hair. “Do you feel stronger than before?”
“My legs are shaky sort of,” she mumbled not turning toward him.
“Will you be able to wash your hair by yourself?” she mumbled something that he could not hear and sighed stepping closer. “I’ll do it for you.” Inu Yasha made a face.
“Baka brother of mine, better not try anything.” he heard Kagome moan and turned. She was leaning against him as he scrubbed through her hair.
“I apologize for my claws, this Sesshomaru will be gentle.”
“Your claws…” she whispered. “They feel… nice.” Inu Yasha turned red and growled
“Sesshomaru,”
“Inu Yasha I am not doing anything,” the demon growled in Youkai. Kagome’s ears twitched back and she shivered.
“Sesshomaru, is my hair done yet?”
“Nearly,”
“You don’t have to I can do it by-”
“I told you not to use your voice, don’t speak out unless it’s something important.” He brushed through it care fully and finally rinsed it out with water. He took the clips her got from her bag and put them in her hair. Kagome shivered slightly and shrieked.
“There’s a snake, a snake,” she stuttered. Sesshomaru looked into the water and grabbed it quickly, it was not big, just small almost the length of her arm. She watched Sesshomaru throw it into the trees and heard Inu Yasha scream.
“What are you doing you idiot?”
“Take care of that will you? Miko, it is gone and now I want to wash your body,”
“Mmm, okay,” She nodded. Sesshomaru lathered the cloth and started with her arms working his way down. Kagome kept her eyes closed as he continued, washing her neck and arms. The wounds were sore and she whimpered slightly only to hear him say sorry. When he got to her chest, she stiffened. Sesshomaru stopped and reached for her hand giving her the cloth. Kagome continued his job quickly and rinsed moving to her legs. An aura was approaching, causing Kagome to shake. Inu Yasha noticed the scent of fear and jumped down from his perch.
“Sesshomaru, What the hell are you-”
“It isn’t me, something is coming,”
“From where, I don’t-” The dog-ears on his head turned back catching a sound. Kagome stood rinsing quickly and ran to get a towel.
“It’s coming Sesshomaru, I have to go,”
“Who’s coming?” She just looked into the trees. “Miko who’s coming, I need to know.”
“Kagome, who is it tell me so I can take it down.” She shook her head and moved behind Sesshomaru. The sound grew louder and Inu Yasha pulled out Tetsusaiga. The trees fell and a large machine appeared. “What is that?”
“Inu Yasha take cover now!”
