Kagome washed her body as Sesshomaru and Inu Yasha guarded the area. Her wounds healed almost to perfection, but her miko was not very strong. Kanaye’s body healed only to leave small scars on his back from the lashes of the whip. No matter how many times she tried to heal them, those wounds would never fade. Her pup splashed about with Shippo not that shy any more. Rin was also in the bath but busy trying to wash her hair. Kagome tried to instruct her without the use of her voice, but never worked all that well. The many times she would try, her cords were ache. Sesshomaru Always ordered her to drink her tea and eat the medicines given to her, and she did when forced. Naraku has not visited her once and she never heard from Kouga. They left Totosai’s two days ago, and now stayed in an abandoned hut. Kanaye yipped at her happily clinging to her side.
“Mama d’you watches Shippo and me? We are having so much fun! Mama when I talk to Rin, why doesn’t she listen?” Kagome patted his head smiling slightly. Sesshomaru answered for her.
“Rin unlike your mother does not know the Youkai language. Therefore, she only hears growls. You also scare her when you do so.” Kanaye looked up at his mother and then at Rin. Sesshomaru watched as the pup slowly made his way toward Rin and hugged her. The girl jumped form fright, but turned and laughed. Sesshomaru felt his brother jumped to sit behind him.
“Yeah about that, since when does Kagome understand our language, it’s like it comes to her so naturally.”
“Perhaps she knows it by being around you,”
“Feh, I never taught her, I never even spoke it until you came along,” Inu Yasha eyed his half brother. “Do you know something about Kagome that I don’t?”
“Perhaps,” He answered again. Inu Yasha growled.
“Do you or don’t you? It isn’t that hard of an answer.”
“Let’s put it this way little brother, I’m not the one constantly chasing a dead woman. I pay attention to those who are here now.” Inu Yasha scoffed looking into the water.
“You don’t know a damn thing about me our Kikyo so back off.” Kagome looked at them. Sesshomaru stood with a slight smirk.
“Of course Little brother, I wouldn’t want to make you suffer.” Inu Yasha snarled and heard someone splash about in the water. Kagome got out and was now walking deeper into the woods.
“Hey Kagome,”
“Leave her be little brother, she wants to be alone.”
“Yeah sure after what the wolf did to her!” Inu Yasha stood and Sesshomaru grabbed him.
“Yes, and she’ll want to see you too after her dreams.”

‘Why, why, why, they always fight and I’m so tried of it, even with out swords.’ Kagome sighed. ’It’s about me too,’ a warm hand on her shoulder made her pause. ’oh, no,’
“Why so tense little miko,” Kagome turned to see Naraku, smiling evilly.
‘Oh, no, no, no, no-’
“Kagome, how have you been?”
“F-F, fine’ She coughed holding her throat.
“You have lost your voice, hm? You no longer smell of me either.” He looked her up and down brushing her hair out of her face. “The wolf’s mark is also on you” Kagome opened her mouth, but he spoke. “I know what happened miko, no need to explain and cause you more pain. His claws did a number on you,” Kagome looked away seeing Kanaye jump out. Naraku smiled as the pup stared fearfully at him. “So this is where you went. To your beautiful mother,”
“Stay away from my momma!”
“Kanaye that is no way to treat your father now is it?”
“You are not my papa! Papa is stronger than you’ll ever be!” Kanaye snarled. Kagome held him close watching Naraku’s gaze. The dark hanyou sighed and looked over Kagome. In her hip, the tainted shards glistened.
“I see so you still have my half, Kikyo has yet to find out yes?” Kagome nodded slowly as he drew nearer. Kanaye stepped back watching him sink to his knees. He kissed her hip the rested his ear against it. Kagome felt his breath on her lower abdomen and pulled back. “Easy miko, I am just smelling your scent. Even through the wolf’s I can smell my own along with another,” Kagome tensed again and whispered.
“I haven’t done anything for anyone else I swear, please don’t-”
“It’s not another male little miko, you can be sure of that.” He smelt confusion and sighed. “A pup my miko, a pup,’
‘What-WHAT, This cannot happen!’ Kagome knelt down to look into Naraku’s eyes. He smiled at her and pressed her belly with his hand.
“It is not the wolf’s, but mine. My child,” He chuckled at her fear. “No need to worry yourself, I will take great care of you,” He sat up and reached for her hand. “Come we will go to my castle,”
“Don’t you touch my momma!” Kanaye lashed out. Naraku looked at his hand with the large gash and growled.
“You dare to strike me child?”
“Don’t touch my Momma!” Kagome held him closer yipping at him to stay quiet. Naraku chuckled and reached for Kagome again.
“Shall we go little Miko?” Kagome looked at the hand and bit her lip; Kanaye yipped and whined at her.
“Mama, don’t he’ll hurt you again, please mama let’s stay with Sesshomaru! Sesshomaru is nice he takes care of us!” Naraku stared at them both. Finally a smirk appeared.
“Little miko you do know that once the hanyou smells our joined scents, he’ll get furious and ask questions. The taijiya and monk will not be satisfied either with your news. Then again, the hanyou and Tai Youkai already know.” The miko stared up at him in awe and worry.
‘So were they just hiding it from me? How long have they known,’ Kagome stood with Kanaye at her side. ‘I have no choice; I’ll have to go, if Inu Yasha notices and screams about it then all the others will know too. My distending tummy will make them wonder too. If I go, then they just might end up chasing after Naraku, thinking he kidnapped me. I can always go home to mom, but she’ll get so mad.’ Kagome nodded and turned to Kanaye smiling weakly. He blinked at her.
“Mama will we be staying with Sesshomaru?”
“N-no,”
“But why, He’ll hurt us again! He’ll lock us in a tiny room again!”
“No, he won’t just trust me,”
“Mama pleases!”
“Would you rather stay with Inu Yasha?”
“That mean, old hanyou? No, but-”
“Then we have to go, its better this way.” Kagome reached to grab Naraku’s hand, but a cold voice called out.
“You aren’t thinking clearly miko Kagome; you are staying here under This Sesshomaru’s protection.”
“Well, if it isn’t the troublesome Tai Youkai,” Naraku growled. Kagome backed away watching as the silver haired man came into the group. “Why are you here Sesshomaru?”
“This Sesshomaru has come to take back the miko; we have to discuss certain matters.”
“My miko does not have time to speak with you; she is coming with me back to the castle. We have matters of our own to take care of,” He placed his hand on Kanaye’s head feeling the pup shrink back. Kagome looked at the two and noticed Sesshomaru’s eyes even though they were cold and emotionless, noticed a small spark.
“Think again Naraku,” Sesshomaru stated. “When the miko is in trouble I am the one that will watch her, my brother failed to do so, but This Sesshomaru will not,”
“You sound like you care for her, is that true? Do you want her as your mate Sesshomaru? Have you become soft?”
“This Sesshomaru is none of your concern Naraku; I suggest you leave before I kill you.”
“Threatening me tai Youkai? Shall I test my power on you then?”
“Naraku- Don’t fight,” Kagome rasped. “I’ll stay with Sesshomaru for awhile longer, that way I can think this through some more ‘kay?” Naraku’s gaze darkened.
“It would be best if you came with me now little Miko,”
“It would, but I want to spend a little more time with my friends and maybe go back home. That way I can prepare for this.” She mumbled.
“Very well then miko, I will give you time, but when I return you are coming with me is that clear?”
“Yes,” Kanaye looked up at Naraku.
“You’ll be coming with us as well.” Kanaye growled, but Kagome held him close. Naraku laughed and turned away disappearing into the fog. Sesshomaru looked at Kagome.
“We should return to the campsite miko.” The two did not acknowledge him and Kanaye sniffed at his mama’s belly.
“What was he saying? Mama, Am I going to have a baby brother soon? How come I can’t smell him?”
“Because you are too young to notice,” The Tai Youkai sat next to him. Kagome fought back her growl as he knelt to sniff at her. Kanaye watched as unshed tears blurred her eyes. Sesshomaru’s eyes opened wide and his sniffed again.
“The bastard was right, miko, you are-” Kagome slapped him.
“Why didn’t you tell me if you knew?”
“Miko, please,”
“How much does Inu Yasha know? Did you tell him everything? Does he know I’m Naraku’s-” Kagome coughed holding her throat. She glared at the Tai Youkai.
“Miko, we didn’t want to say anything because of your friends. We also weren’t all that positive, but now-” He sighed. “Inu Yasha does not know of you and Naraku just of Kouga. He’ll believe that the pup is his.” Kagome sobbed even harder. “Miko,”
“What did you do to Kagome?” Inu Yasha growled appearing from the trees. Sesshomaru sighed and looked at her.
“Do you want me to tell him?” Kagome glared at him and growled.
“You said he already knew!”
“I knew what-whoa hold on!” Inu Yasha sat next to Kagome and stared at her. “Since when can you speak Demon?”
“Since -” Kagome bit her lip. Kanaye looked in between the two and blinked.
“You’re still speaking in Youkai; I thought you lost your voice?”
“She has little brother, but it has been getting better, unfortunately she’s been using it when she should not.”
“Why the hells your face bruised?”
“That is not important right now, Kagome’s pup is,”
“What’s wrong with Kanaye?”
“Not that pup, the one that will be here in six months time.”
“What, Kagome-” The hanyou looked at Kagome. “You’re but-” The hanyou sniffed at her neck eyes widening. “You are!” Kagome nodded tearfully and Kanaye hugged her arm.
“Mama’s going to have my baby brother, but how come she’s upset? I do not like seeing mama cry. It reminds me of when papa died. She cried a lot then.”

Kanaye screamed loudly as Naraku threw his father across the room. His mother was holding him tightly from the sidelines screaming out for her mate. The Inu Youkai howled in anger tearing out Naraku’s arm. The area around them fogged with Miasma. Naraku laughed as his arm grew back.
“You aren’t strong enough to take me down you filth. Come at me again with all your strength.”
“I will don’t worry Naraku,” The dog snarled. He charged straight for Naraku’s throat. Kanaye smiled as he saw his father’s fangs embed themselves into the skin. His mother held his shoulder tightly. A low chuckling echoed through the clearing as the miasma cleared. The large silver dog was on his side not breathing or moving. Naraku stepped up to them, both bloodied and injured. The female ran to the still form screaming and crying out for it to stir and wake.
“Mama-”
“You have to wake up, wake up for me! For our son, please wake up! Do not let this monster win! You cannot die!” She buried her face into the blood-matted fur and sobbed. “Wake up my mate! Wake up, wake up so that we can raise our son together,”
“That’s enough woman come with me!” Naraku barked griping Kanaye’s neck.
“Let Go of my Son Now! Keep your filthy hands away from him!”
“You will come with me now onna, or I will cut his head away from his shoulders,”
“Mama,”
“Don’t move Kanaye! You would not want to see your mother mourn for another now would you? It’d be best if she came with me,”
“Naraku, “She snarled. “You will keep your hands off my son. You wanted me, and nothing more.”
“Perfect choice onna and now if you’ll follow me…”

Inu Yasha held Kagome to him as she sobbed. “Calm down Kagome, it’s all right, we’ll take are of this. I promise.” He kissed her hair and Sesshomaru watched for any sign from the miko. Her cries just grew, and grew. “I’ll get that wolf for you, and I’ll make him pay for what he did to you, I know you don’t want us to fight, but he took something from you that he shouldn’t have.” Sesshomaru smelt the scent of Kikyo coming closer and cleared his throat.
“We should go now Inu Yasha. Continue our travel,”
“In a minute,” Inu Yasha sighed. Kagome held tightly onto him, her sobs becoming quiet. He rubbed her back purring trying to calm her even further. Kanaye held onto Sesshomaru as The Tai Youkai stood. Kikyo appeared next to him.
“Inu Yasha what are you doing with my reincarnate?”
“Kikyo,” He breathed. “We’ll talk after Right now Kagome is the one I need to take care of.”
“What, but Inu Yasha-”
“Kikyo please, just let me stay with Kagome for a while. I tell you why after.” Kikyo’s aura rose, but fell.
“Of course, Inu Yasha, Shall I tell the others you will be back soon?”
“No, I don’t think you have to do that just make sure the camp and everything is packed.” Kikyo nodded and turned back toward the camp. She screamed in her mind.
“That Hanyou, he was supposed to take Kagome away from Inu Yasha and the others today. Why was he able to do so? Did that demon Sesshomaru fight him off?” Shippo hopped across her line of sight. “Fox what is your hurry?”
“Inu Yasha called me asking for Kagome’s pack.”
“I see, well don’t let me keep you from helping my reincarnate,” Shippo just nodded and ran toward the camp.

Kagome dried her eyes the best she could while holding onto Kanaye. Inu Yasha rummaged her pack for clothes while Sesshomaru growled at him for making such a mess. Kagome watched her son rub her belly. “Mama, is it a boy or a girl?”
“I don’t know yet, Kanaye, not for awhile.”
“Will it like me?”
“Of course, it will it will love all of us,” She answered softly. Kanaye rested his head on his mother flat stomach eyes growing heavy. Kagome Yawned feeling someone move to sit next to her. She looked up and saw Sesshomaru removing his mokomoko-sama wrapping it around her shoulders. Her eyes focused on his bruise. Touching it, lightly she pouted. “I’m sorry for marring your skin, your pretty skin,” She said drowsily. “Forgive me?”
“You’re forgiven miko,” He smiled brushing her bangs from her eyes. She yawned and mumbled.
“Thank you, Sesshomaru, you should smile more. It’s nice,” He chuckled at her babble and nodded.
“As long as you regain your strength and Voice, I will do so.” Kagome rested her head against his shoulder and fell asleep. Inu Yasha turned with her clothes in hand.
“We need to dress Kagome, so we can leave.”
“Where is it we are going?”
“To a nearby village, I know there’s one by the beach just ahead.”
“How do you know this?”
“We’ve been up this way before, just trust me all right?”
Sesshomaru nodded and carried Kagome for the rest of the journey.

Naraku opened the doors to his room and sat by the small white child. She did not move as he growled.
“Show me my miko and where they are headed.”
“Yes, Naraku-sama,” Kanna whispered. Naraku’s eyes glued to the small mirror, as Kagome was fast asleep against the Tai Youkai. Kanaye was in her lap, both covered by his moko-moko-sama. Kanaye was half-asleep staring into the fire that burned. Inu Yasha sat in the tree above and Kikyo across from the tree. The monk and taijiya were sleeping next on the other side of the fire. His eyes rested on Sango.
“I believe it is time to return you to your sister Kohaku, I after all made a deal with the little miko.” He snapped his fingers and the boy came out form the shadows.
“You called for me Naraku,”
“Yes, as of now I will no longer hold you as my servant, you will return to your sister.”
“My…. Sister…”
“Yes, but before you return I might as well give back your memories,” Naraku walked closer to the boy and rested his hand on the boy’s forehead covering his eyes. Kohaku’s head began to hurt and he whimpered. “Easy Kohaku I don’t want to cause you anymore pain just be quiet and take it, you’re a demon hunter after all.” Behind the boy’s eyes, Kohaku saw images of his child hood, his first practice match, and his first lessons as a taijiya, he even remembered-
“S….Sango-” He gasped. Naraku listened to the boys ramblings and continued. Finally coming up into his mind’s visions was the battle he and his tribe had against Naraku, his death. Naraku let go watching the boy fall to his knees. In Naraku’s hand was the contaminated shard. Kohaku blinked and looked up at Naraku. “You, you, YOU KILLED MY FATHER!” the boy grabbed his weapon ready to cut off Naraku’s head. The dark hanyou however was able to dodge and grab Kohaku by his neck.
“How dare you attack me, after returning you to the living world and then releasing you from my spells? I should just keep you as my pet.” Kohaku choked as he fell. “Now I suggest you go find Kagura and have her take you to the village your sister is in. Move now or I will forget all about letting you go.” The boy got up and jaunted to where he knew Kagura spent her time. Naraku on the other hand moved back to the mirror. Kagome was alone this time once again at some sort of beach. She sat in the sand as the water came up to wash over her bare feet. Her hands rested against her stomach. “Well my dear what are you thinking now? Have you made up your mind, will you stay with the hurtful hanyou or will you join me?” He sat and watched her. She rubbed her belly constantly taking long deep breaths. He felt comforted by her, and then unexpectedly, tears and sobs broke through the tranquil face. Naraku moved to his knees curious why she was crying. His heart called to sooth and calms her. She sobbed digging her claws into the sands. His hair blew around her, small shivers from the chilling air moving through her form. Suddenly Naraku got up. “Kanna watch out for you sister, make sure she returns to her chamber.”
“Yes, my lord-”

‘You were trying to protect your friends by directing Naraku’s attention only on you. You never expected this pup did you/”
‘No, now when I go home what is momma going to think? I come through the door with a big belly and then they will kick me out. Then Inu Yasha won’t allow me to come back.’
‘What do you plan to do abort it we cannot do that!’
‘I know, I know, but Kouga can’t take the blame for something that was already there.’
“What seems to be troubling you my little mate?”
‘Naraku-’ she whirled around falling back. Naraku steadied her to sit in his lap. He held her tight and she blinked in confusion. Naraku’s breath heated her skin as he spoke.
“What is it my mate, does this pup bother you so? Has the hanyou harmed you in anyway?”
‘Why, why is he asking these things? Is it that he, he cares for me? That cannot be right this is Naraku. Naraku- have his way with you and leave- Naraku. This doesn’t feel right…my heart its, its pounding, and I feel… comfort!?’ Kagome gasped and looked up at him. His eyes stared directly at her.
“Miko, what is ailing you? Show me… can you do that?” Kagome calmed and shook her head touching her throat. Naraku frightened Kagome as he kissed the area. “Your voice should return shortly. By that time I want to have you at my side.” He lifted her chin. “Is that enough time?” Kagome nodded dumbly, biting her lip. She turned away and sobbed some more. Naraku’s face fell, he comforted her and yet, she still cries. What more could he do? “Little miko, are suffering that much that you want to kill this pup?” Kagome shook her head and grabbed onto him. Naraku laughed, “I see miko, do not get so angry at me. Do you remember what will happen when you do?” She glared even harder. “You’ll be punished and your friends executed by my hands. Now calm yourself or you’ll hurt my pup.” He set his hands along her sides and then her lower stomach. What he didn’t know was the third aura that had just appeared in the area. Kagome looked into the trees and blinked as the aura grew angry. Naraku looked up and turned. “I believe our time alone is up, I will return to take you shortly. Remember that.” he kissed her quickly slowly standing. Kagome stood as well. The person in the bushes came out glaring at the dark lord. “I will warn you, if I find my mate in any danger before she is at my side. I will make your death far more painful then you’ve ever dreamed.”
“Such harsh words coming from a hanyou that hides away- making others do his dirty deeds, Why not prove it yourself, show me this awe-inspiring power.”
“Another time old friend, another time,” Naraku chuckled darkly. “Oh and Sesshomaru, that mark you had placed on Kagome, will not work , for you see, the mark I had given her is the closest and strongest thing next to the bonds of Blood and aura. It will be easily broken once my mate is under me again.”
“Naraku, don’t be so sure, I intend to keep the miko at my side at all costs. The bond is only a small step toward my plans. You’ll see,” Naraku just grinned maliciously and disappeared into the night. Kagome now stood by the growling demon dog, his eyes slightly pink. He felt her touch his cheek and looked down. She moved her lips, but nothing, no sounds ever came out. She brushed his bangs and touched his marks delicately, soothingly. For some reason his demon half was relaxed and backing down. He weakened his hold only to find that the demon within him completely quieted, as if, lulled into a deep slumber. He looked down at her and she smiled brightly. “This Sesshomaru thanks you for your help, however I did not need it miko. Come let us go back to the campsite, my brother is waiting.” Kagome frowned, he used that excuse once before when things seems to get romantic or friendly. She grumbled low at him and stomped away. Sesshomaru stared at her back, he smelled her anger and snapped. “What, is it your wish to live with him, if so I’ll call him back and let him have you.” She turned around and growled stomping up o his face. She stabbed at his chest grumbling in Youkai.
“Don’t even you JACKASS, how dare you growl at me for trying to be friendly just now. Just because you’re the great lord of some lands doesn’t mean you can treat me like dirt.”
“And just because you are a beaten miko doesn’t mean that this Sesshomaru will be ever so nice and motherly. I shall remain treating you like I do the others is that-”
“Treat me like the others- Treat me like the others? You Mr. Sesshomaru have been washing me, petting me, AND sleeping near me and -which surprises me the most- speaks to me like I’m an equal. That is definitely not treating me like the others!” Sesshomaru growled at her.
“Shut your mouth you little ningen,”
“Oh hell no Sesshomaru, the way you treat me is way different than the others.” She glared him down and for once no comeback. “No if we are finished, the next time you try and use that ridiculous excuse make sure its actually the truth.” Kagome panted. “Are we clear?”
“This Sesshomaru will not take orders from a simple-”
“ARE WE CLEAR SESSHOMARU-SAMA?” he sighed at her and proceeded.
“This Sesshomaru will agree, however-” While walking Sesshomaru didn’t notice the miko pass out right behind him. “Miko Kagome-” He turned and saw her flat on her back. He sighed and knelt beside her. “Kagome get up this is not in any way funny. Miko Kagome, wake up now, This Sesshomaru commands it.”
“Just what is this Sesshomaru commanding of MY Kagome?” Inu Yasha snarled. Sesshomaru turned toward the arrogant being.
“This Sesshomaru is simply trying to get the miko to stop playing this little game. She is in no pain and was not hurt, so therefore I see no reason why she would pass out.”
“Just what did you do to her bastard?”
“I did nothing, she started shouting at me,” Sesshomaru stated coldly. “I am beginning to grow weary of this day. You hanyou try and wake her.”
“Oi, I am not your servant or that stupid toad. Don’t dare order me around,” Inu Yasha heard Kagome whimper and jumped to her aid. “Ka-Kagome, wake up, come on you stupid girl-” tapping her cheek and pinching her nose Inu Yasha tried gaining her attention. “Oi, woman, get your ass up, we have no time for you to play dead! WE got jewel shards-”
“Sit Inu- Yasha” her voice came in a dreamy sleep. Sesshomaru watched yet again as his brother fell to the floor eating his favorite meal… dirt.” Kagome opened her eyes slightly looking at the night sky. The ground vibrating around her Sesshomaru held his laughter as his brother remained in the dirt creating a mini earthquake.
“Wha-what happened?”
“You, onna passed out, the baka here tried waking you unfortunately it was too much of a task for him.”
“You damn bastard I’ll kill you, you were the one who asked me to wake her ‘cause you couldn’t.” Kagome looked between the two Youkai and sighed. She turned away leaving them to their little banter. The next thing she saw was Kikyo. Unlike the last times she had met up with the dead woman, Kikyo was glaring at her.
“Ha, ha trying to hide a pregnancy will not be easy, especially if it’s by the tainted Naraku. Soon enough his scent will fully envelope your own marking you his own for eternity. Your precious aura the one you stole from me, it’s tainted, and being tainted even more so by the simplest words of that monster, that, that hell spawn. Your guilt is very visible, reincarnate, your hate, your sadness, your anger. I can see it all so very clearly, and soon won’t Inu Yasha and those beloved humans you call your friends. Your world is slowly crumbling, and If I were you, I’d run back to the well, back home to that Tokyo, you love so much and never return.” Kagome felt Kikyo’s hands touch her face and mouth, the shivers and nauseous-ness didn’t ease the bad feelings swarming through her. Kikyo moved closer and smiled. “When your gone, I will then have both hanyous, and the Shikon no Tama. I would regain my place in Inu Yasha’s heart and Onigumo’s Just you wait and see.” Kikyo was about to walk back when she stopped. “I nearly forgot,” In a blink of an eye, beads similar to Inu Yasha’s encircled her neck sinking into her skin. The beads were nearly clear with a dark hue. They were the size of small pebbles found in the sands. Kagome tried removing them, but found nothing on her neck. “These are to make sure you will not speak of ‘our’ little secret, when ever you mention it or even think it, the power on those beads will cause you tremendous pain and possibly send you into unconsciousness. I do hope you enjoy my beads KA-GO-ME.” The young miko gasped and tried pulling invisible beads from her neck. She panted hard and fast as she scratched against her neck finding nothing. She fell to her knees and whimpered.
