As 17 year old Kagome Higurashi jumped down the well to return to Feudal Japan, but mostly to see Inuyasha, when she had a sickening feeling.

 

`Oh God, did something bad happen back there, I feel like some one died or something!'

 

When she returned to the village, she was met by Sango.

 

“Oh Kagome, I'm so sorry! I did everything I could, Miroku too, but he wouldn't listen!”

 

Kagome's smile disappeared almost instantly

 

“Sango, wait, what are you talking about? Tried to stop what? Who wouldn't listen? What's going on?” Kagome yelled.

 

“It's just that… well… you have to promise not to get mad at me, ok?

 

“Yea sure, just tell me, what's going on?”

 

“It's Inuyasha, he, well, he got mad about you always leaving back to your era, so he decided, well, he decided that Kikyo was going to join our group. I'm sorry Kagome, I tried to stop him!”

 

“Where is he?”

“What do you mean? Who… oh. If you mean Inuyasha, he's at Goshinboku.”

 

“Ok, thanks Sango.”

“Yea, I'm really sorry Kagome. If anything happens, let me or Miroku know, we'll be glad to kick their asses.”

“Yea, I bet you would be glad to do that,” giggled Kagome. “See you later!'

 

“Bye!”

 

 

Kagome walked up to Inuyasha. He was easy to find, since he was wearing his bright red haori. She took a deep breath, and sat down next to him.

 

“Why did you let her join Inuyasha, why?

“What do you mean why? Let who join us… oh. You mean Kikyo don't you?”

A tear slid down Kagome's cheek. Inuyasha noticed it, but didn't say anything.

 

`Gosh, Yea I did let Kikyo join us, but why would Kagome be sad enough to cry about that? And how exactly did Kagome find out? I wanted to tell her myself…'

 

“Hey Kagome, how did you find out, you know, about Kikyo?”

 

“That isn't important Inuyasha. I just want to know why. WHY Inuyasha. WHY did you have to go invite Kikyo? I just want to know WHY!”

“I don't know if I should tell you Kagome, you seem to be in a bad mood. I'll tell you later.”

 

“NO Inuyasha. I want to know NOW.”

“Well, to tell the truth, both of you can sense the jewel shards, and since you kept on leaving back to your era, I asked Kikyo to help us while you were gone. It's better for you, because now, you can stay longer in your era, and we can continue jewel hunting!”

Kagome looked down. Her bangs covering her eyes, but not the tears sliding down her cheeks.

 

“So. That's all I was to you. A shard detector. You didn't care that I had to go be with my family, and you went so low, that you asked KIKYO to join us? How could you Inuyasha? After all we've been through…” Kagome trailed off.

 

She jumped up, and started running off, in the direction of the well.

 

Inuyasha wanted to go after her, but a part of him told him not to. Leave her alone, and go talk to Kikyo.

 

So he did.
