Inuyasha stood up and started on his way back to Kaede's hut. He didn't know what to do. He liked Kagome- a lot- but he also like Kikyo. Kikyo had died for him, so he can't just leave her. Except- the Kikyo that roams the earth now isn't the same one he fell in love with. And that one kiss he had with Kagome, even though he acted like it never happened, had been much better then any kisses from Kikyo. Now when Kikyo kissed him, it wasn't full of energy. Her lips were cold and hard, but Kagome's were soft, warm, and full of life. His heart was telling him that Kagome was the one for him, but his mind was saying Kikyo, after all, she died for him.

 

Soon Kaede's hut was seen. Inuyasha sped up until he got to the door. He saw Kikyo working on something besides the door. He took a deep breath, and started talking.

 

“Kikyo, I know that I asked you to join us, but I'm not sure anymore. Kagome seems really upset, and I know that I asked you, but could you steer clear of Kagome?” Inuyasha asked.

 

“Why do you want me to not talk to my reincarnation, we are the only ones who can sense the jewel shards. Even though I do not want to, I have to talk to her. Besides, why do you care about her? Didn't you choose me?” Kikyo said keeping her expression serious and emotionless.

 

“Well… I don't think she deserves that much pain yet. She was really depressed when I told her you ere traveling with us. Sango and Miroku don't seem really happy about it either, I know I chose you, but I can still be friends with Kagome.”

 

“No Inuyasha, that's it. You can't be with her. If you want to be with me, you will have to give her up. Either send her back to where she came from, or ignore her. You can't have us both. How do I know you want deceive me and come on her? I know that you still feel for her, but you can only have one of us. I'll give you another chance. Choose. Now.” Kikyo said, still without any emotion.

 

`Kagome wouldn't make me ignore Kikyo, wait, why am I thinking about her? I only like her as a friend, right? Anyway, Kikyo gave up her life for me, I should repay her. We would have had a life together, and now we have the chance again, Kikyo's the one for me, right?' Inuyasha thought

 

“Well, I guess I'll just ignore her then. I won't send her back, because Sango, Miroku, and Shippo would hate me forever.” Inuyasha said. And me. I don't want her to go.'

 

“Good.” Kikyo said with the slightest smile. “You should tell the others about it. Then they can tell my reincarnation.”
