Chapter 8~Revenge?

~~~When Kagome had gotten to Kaede's hut along with Sango, she had fallen to her knees and cried as she held a lifeless Shippo to her chest. He wasnt dead, but he might as well have been for all the live that was in him. He stared unblinking, didnt move or utter a sound except for small shallow breaths that told them he was alive. Yet that fire and spark of playfullness was gone. She tried everything she could to bring him out of his state, but nothing she did was helping any. She soothed him, hugged him, stroked his tail, sang to him, called out to him and told him how much she loved him. She even tried to bribe him with chocolate. Yet nothing changed. Although Kaede and Sango were both happy to see Kagome back they were saddened by her own state. She was thin, pale and her hair seemed lifeless and stringy, her eyes also seemed to have lost the spark of fire and life in them. She no longer had that loving caring innocense about her. She looked tired and exhausted physically and mentally. All this had taken a toll on her as it had Inuyasha and poor little Shippo, as well as Miroku and Sango.

~~~That night Kagome cried long into the darkness as she held Shippo to her, praying and wishing and whispering pleas for him to come back to her. Shippo never moved, never flinched or acknowledged that she was there. This only broke her heart more. By noon the next day when Miroku arrived with Kirara, Kagome was a shell of her former self. She said hello to Miroku and gave him a wane smile, but there was no warmth in it, no life and this scared Miroku terribly. He had been searching for days trying to find Inuyasha, Kirara's nose sniffing out his scent, but even after they had found his scent, they had lost it by a tree with some small cubby hole in it. They hadnt been able to pick up his scent after that no matter how much they searched. But they did find someone else.

"We came across him in a village about two days from here..when he saw us he left." Miroku explained to them as he told them of his search for Inuyasha.

"Where do you think he is now?" Kagome asked somberly. Miroku didnt like this detached Kagome, this lifeless person, she reminded him alot like Kikyo now.

"No doubt trying to put as much distance between us and him as possible." Miroku replied with disgust.

"I want to go find him." stated Kagome as she stood up and grabbed her bow and arrows. Miroku and Sango looked at her with worry and concern, not to mention shock.

"But why Kagome?" Sango asked with fear.

"Yoshi and I have unfinished business." she replied calmly. This sent shivers up the others spines.

"But what about Shippo?? we cant leave him...and..and what about finding Inuyasha?" Sango quickly added, trying to disuade her friend from what ever it was she was planning. She didnt like the look in Kagome's eyes, or the determination on her face.

"I'll find Inuyasha after I take care of Yoshi....as for Shippo..." a glimmer of pain and sadness filled her lifeless eyes for an instant and they thought that their Kagome was coming back, but it quickly vanished, much to the sorrow of the group.

"Theres nothing I can do for Shippo right now...its up to him now...he has to want to come out and be with us again...its his choice...and nothing I do or did seems to help much..so I want to do this..if you dont want to go with me then that is alright..I understand..but I am going." Kagome stated in a tone that said it would not be changed and the discussion was over. Both Miroku and Sango sighed. Since Miroku had just come back they agreed that Miroku would rest and watch over Shippo while Kagome and Sango went in search of Yoshi. Sango promised the monk that she would keep a good watch over Kagome and not let her do anything she would regret.

~~~They find Yoshi alot sooner than expected, much to Sango's dismay. It had only taken half a day. When Miroku and Kirara had first found him it had been by accident, they had been searching for Inuyasha not Yoshi, but once Kirara caught the sent of Yoshi and focused on finding only him, it took no more than half the day to find him. He was in another village, he was surrounded by a group of villagers who were patting his back and congradulating him on a job well done. Then they handed him a pouch of coins for exterminating a weak bear demon who was no more than a cub. It had been hungry and lost and had started to get into the food storage aread of the village, just basicly pestering them but causing no real harm. The look and pride in Yoshi's face as he soaked up the admiration of the villagers only made Kagome and Sango that much more angry.

~~~Yoshi began to walk towards the edge of the village when Kagome notched an arrow and put it in her bow. Sango looked at her with concern. Yes Yoshi was bad and should pay for what he had done but could she allow Kagome to kill him? As Sango comtemplated this she registered that Kagome arrow had a small vile at the end by the tip. Before she could ask what it was or stop her Kagome shot the arrow. Sango gasped in horror as she watched the arrow head straight for Yoshi. Yoshi had seen them and a look of fright had come over him before he masked it and got in a battle stance. He saw the arrow coming towards him and was about to jump out of the way when he saw it veer off and up way over his head. He smirked. Stupid wentch didnt know how to shoot straight he thought, just before a rain of liquid fell onto his head and shoulders, seeping into his clothes and skin. He looked up to see the arrow embedded in a tree behind him and a broken vile tied around the staff. What ever was in the vile had shattered on impact and drenched him.

"What the hell was that?" Yoshi asked with irritation. Kagome tilted her had and to Sango and his surprise smirked at him evily. Sango had been so certain that Kagome had meant to shoot the arrow into Yoshi and kill him or purify his smug ass, and had been surprised when it veered off and hit the tree instead. Now she knew Kagome had never meant to shoot Yoshi. But she worried about what the vile had contained.

"Dont you notice it Yoshi? Dont you recognize your SURPRISE for Inuyasha?? My GIFT for him?" Kagome asked in a cool almost amused tone.

"Whaaa..what?? No!..No you couldnt have!" Yoshi stuttered, as realization hit him. Fear clouded his face and his face paled.

"I thought you would want it back..seeing how fond of it you are..goodbye Yoshi.." Kagome said calmly as she turned to leave but turned back around.

"Ohh by the way Yoshi..go ahead and try to wash it off if you can..but I assure you that the minute it hit your skin the potion seeped into your very pores..right now its coursing threw your vains...nothing you do will ever make it go away." she stated smugly as she finally turned and walked away. She heard Sango behind her following, as they both heard Yoshi curse and franticly ripped his clothes off of him, muttering almost insanly as the potion started to take affect.

"Kagome??? was that the potion Yoshi was going to have you give Inuyasha to make him mad with rage and blood lust?" Sango asked fearfully.

"Yes." Kagome replied point blank, without emotion.

"But why??!!!...I mean Yoshi isnt up to my demon strength or skill but he is still a very powerfull exterminator..why would you unleash a potion that would make him mad and send him on a killing spree that will no doubt have him killing innocent people?" Sango asked in total shock and anger. Kagome turned and looked at her, a small smile graced her lips as she looked at Sango, which freaked the poor demon exterminator a little.

"He wont go on a killing spree Sango..you see I asked Kaede about the potion Yoshi had me make...although it sends demons into a killing rage..it has a diffrent affect on humans." Kagome began to explain. Sango looked wide eyed at her and frowned.

"What affect?" she asked with trepidation.

"When the liquid is absorbed into human skin and seeps into the blood stream it starts to slowly taint thier blood.." at Sango's gasp and surprise Kagome smiled and went on.

"Not poison Sango..not really anyway...Yoshi was not good enough to die like that..and I would not taint my own hands with his death...ooh he will die..eventually...but you see the affect of the potion doesnt kill humans..instead it makes them paranoid...makes the mind think that things in the shadows and bushes are plotting against him...and as much as he might want to fight the things his mind tells him are after him, the potion also saps his courage..basicly Yoshi will live out his life in fear and cowardice..running from the shadows, always looking over his shoulder for danger..I have no doubt he will die someday..but not by my hands....fitting dont you think Sango? He was going to trick me to hurt Inuyasha and he DID trick Inuyasha in his own way..I think its fitting that he live and die like the true coward he is. " Kagome explained as she mounted Kirara and waited for Sango to climb behind her.

~~~Sango did not say a word. What could she say? She was in a haze of wonder, shock and confussion. Part of her wanted to be inraged and angered, indignant at the thought of what Kagome had done to Yoshi, but the bigger part of her thought that the bastard deserved it. Kagome hadnt killed him but had in a way. With fear and his inablity to fight he would not be able to make a living and would no doubt meet his end someday by some demon or human. But Sango couldnt help believe that the man deserved it. But her confussion lay in the thought that she was no better than him in a way. Wanting vengence and taking delight in his punishment. Was she a terrible person for thinking this? And Kagome? What was she thinkiing? What would all this finally do to her friend. Sango had never known Kagome to want to injure anyone but Naraku, never any human and she wondered what all this would do to her mind, her soul, her spirit. Sango just knew she would never ever have HER Kagome back again. And this most of all saddened her. She wept silent tears as they headed back to the village and Kaede's.

A/N~okies heres the next chap..hope you all like...was Yoshi's punishment ok? Was it fitting you think?? I didnt want Kagome to straight out kill him, I cant picture her ever doing that..but I think she would do this as an alternitive and I think it suits Yoshi..making him the spineless cowardly bastid he is..I dont know yall tell me what ya think k? and dont fret will get to Sesshoumaru and Rin's scream next chap..promise..:-) till then you all be well safe and happy and thank you sooooooo much for the kind reviews, me loves them..and to Rekka..awwwwwww gf hope your feeling better..hope this chap helps wif your cold..(hands Rekka some chicken soup)..get better soon gf..huggles and smiles to you all...Mija..:-)
