‘s Note: Sorry that it took so long to get this chapter out. I’ve been busy going back and forth between doctors and the hospital. I finally have something for my horrible migraines. This chapter gets interesting. Kagome gets attacked by Kari and Youko comes to her rescue. Sesshy gets a case of the green-eyed monster called jealousy. Thanks so much for the reviews! This chapter isn’t going to be as long as the last one, it’s just to speed the story up more.

Chapter Thirteen
Answers, thoughts, getting closer, and jealousy?
Sesshomaru’s POV
Why do I want to say yes to Kagome’s question. I don’t want to see my bastard of a father but I want to see my mother. I haven’t seen her since she committed suicide because of sadness. His father had pushed the last straw of her will to will to live when she learned that Izayoi was pregnant with his pup.
‘You like her and want to show it. Plus you want to spend time with the mother that you love so much. She was ripped away from us too quickly and way too soon. I want to know why father hurt our mother like that. They were fine before he started to meet with Izayoi, then everything went wrong. Have you decided on the question yet?’ Sesshomaru sighed audibly and got up from the bed. ‘I still need to think about it. I will give her the answer later.’
He stood up and changed out of his sleeping hakamas, putting his regular red and white haori and hakamas on. Then he donned his armor and went to search out Kentaru so he could answer his questions. He seemed to have an endless supply of them.

Kentaru’s POV
“Could Kagome successfully complete Kentaru‘s plan? Sesshomaru is hard to convince when he thinks that the other way is right.” Youko sighed and resumed staring out the window. ‘I wonder If Kagome actually got Sesshomaru to agree to perform the spell. He is too stubborn for his own good.’ He saw Youko staring out the window and walked toward him. “Do You think that she did it Youko? Could she have possibly done what we couldn’t accomplish in a millennium?”
“It’s possible that she did convince him. He isn’t as cold and ruthless around her as he is around other people. We will have to wait and see.” Youko sighed as walked out of the room, leaving Kentaru to his thoughts.

Kagome’s POV
‘I hope Sesshy says yes so we can finally get our parents back. I think I will go spend time with Shippo. I haven’t really played with him that much with all of this happening. I can’t ignore him. I see him like my own son. Sometimes I wonder if I am too young to raise him but he sees me as his adopted okaasan. I wish I could go back through the well so Souta and aunt Katsuki could meet Shippo.’
Kagome walked through the halls toward the gardens when she heard giggling and shouting. “You can’t catch me Rin-chan! I ‘m too fast for you!!” she heard a low whine and she walked toward the entrance of the gardens. Rin was chasing Shippo with a pout on her face. “Slow down Shippo-kun! I need to catch up!” He laughed and jumped up into a small tree that was out of Rin’s reach. His nose twitched and then his eyes brightened. “Kaasan! Are you here to play with us?” he yelled happily and jumped from the tree.
Kagome smiled and caught him in her arms. “Hai Shipp-chan, I’m here to play with you and Rin-chan.” Rin finally came to where they were and a wide smile came across her face. “Kagome-Okaasan! You’re here to play with Rin!” she trilled happily and barreled toward her. She gripped Kagome’s legs tightly and smiled up at her mother figure. “I have an idea momma! Let’s draw, you draw really good. I can show Rin-chan all of the neat coloring sticks and paper you got me.” Kagome nodded her head and smiled.

“We’ll go inside to draw. All of the supplies are there. We can go to the library. No one should be there.” The kids nodded their heads then grabbed Kagome’s hands and led her to the library. They made it to the library and the two hyper children ushered Kagome through the doors really quickly. She found her yellow backpack sitting on tone of the tables and smiled slightly. ‘I guess Kasumi heard that Shippo and Rin wanted to draw and figured that the things were in my bag.’ She walked to the table and got out the necessary supplies. “Here you go you guys. I’m going to go over by the window and draw.” She gathered up her sketchbook and a pencil then walked toward a comfortable looking chair.
Kagome didn’t know what she was drawing, she just drew what came to her mind. When she finished she looked down at her sketchpad and gasped. She drew Sesshomaru sitting on a branch of a tree staring at the full moon. ‘I can’t believe that I drew Sesshomaru of all things! I can’t seem to get him out of my head!’ It’s like I told you before. You like him and want to be with him forever. I can tell he doesn’t hate us because he let us call him Sesshy. ‘Well, you have a point on the fact that he is acting nicer to us. Why am I getting memories of us when we were little. In them we seemed like we were really close. I haven’t said anything to anyone because I haven’t even sorted them out yet.’
‘We were close to Sesshy when we were little. We are also betrothed to him. We need him to remember that. I won’t be away from the one that I love for long.’ a soft seductive voice whispered in her mind. Kagome’s eyes widened she remembered this voice. It was the voice of her demon conscious. ‘I am betrothed to Sesshy? I guess that can’t be too bad. I still don’t like the fact that he is so cold to everyone. Kagome heard the sounds of a fight and told Shippo and Rin to stay in here. “I will come back to get you.” she said softly and ran out of the room.

Kari’s POV
“This bitch will pay for stealing my Sesshy. If I can’t kill her yet, I’ll just injure her and that will give me enough satisfaction right now. I need her blood on my claws.” she said to herself. She came to Sesshomaru’s gardens and waited for her time to strike. ‘Good thing I have a strong masking spell on my scent so no one will pick it up.’

“What’s going on? She asked as she came to the gardens. Youko sighed and looked towards her. Sesshomaru made Inuyasha pissed off when he said he is just a stupid hanyou and they are fighting now.” Kagome sighed irritably. “You mean I left Rin and Shippo in the library to come here just to find that they are fighting each other? I thought that someone was attacking the castle.”
Kari found that this was the best time to strike. She ran behind Kagome and clawed deep in her back. ’This is perfect! Youko can take care of her. She won’t get any closer to Sesshy!‘ She ran quickly back the way she came from. Kagome gasped in pain and fell into Youko’s arms. He saw that her back was gushing out blood from a large wound on it. He sniffed the wound and snarled angrily. “Kari will pay with her life for what she’s done!” he carried Kagome to the healer’s room and laid her on the bed.
The rest of the group smelled Kagome’s blood and snarled angrily. They followed her scent and were led to Miaka’s room. Youko was sitting on the bead that Kagome was on helping Miaka stitch up her wounds. When she finally stitched up her wounds she sighed softly. Lady Kagome will need a lot of sleep to recover. Before she goes to sleep, I will give her something to ease her pain. She turned around and called for a servant to bring her some tea. She put some herbs in it and gave it to Youko so he could help her drink it. He gently put the cup to her lips and she drank the tea until it was gone.
“Arigato for helping me Youko.” she whispered softly. Youko smiled and whispered “You’re welcome. I’ll help you anytime that you need it little one.” and watched her fall asleep. He turned to Sesshomaru and saw him glaring at him. “Who did this?” he said coldly. “Kari did. I smelled miasma laced with her scent on Kagome’s wound.” everyone in the room thought one thing. ‘Kari and Naraku will die really soon. We will make sure of it.’ Youko got up and told everyone that he was going to bring Rin and Shippo to the gardens. “She left them in the library when she came to the gardens.”

When he came to the library he saw Rin and Shippo drawing happily. He saw them go to a chair next to the window and look at a paper. “Ooh look at this Shippo-chan! Kagome-okaasan drew Sesshomaru-sama! It looks just like him!” Curiosity got the better of him and he walked up to both of them to look at the picture. “Let me see it please.” his voice rang out in the room. Rin turned around and saw him standing behind her. “Here you go Youko-sama!” she said happily and gave him the drawing. He looked it over and was amazed. It did look just like Sesshomaru. He decided he would go and show him it. “Let’s go you two. We are going to go and see Sesshomaru.”
They walked to Miaka’s room and waited outside the door. Sesshomaru caught their scent and walked out of the room. “What do you want Youko?” Youko just gave him the drawing and led both children to Rin’s gardens to play. Sesshomaru looked at the drawing and was amazed at the detail and he was more amazed at the artist’s name. ‘Kagome drew this? She is pretty good.’ his conscious thought. We need to go back in there and be with her. I sense that she is awake.’
He walked into the room and saw Kagome looking around the unfamiliar room. She saw him walking toward her and smiled softly. “Hey Sesshy. What happened to me? My back is really sore.” she said softly. “Kari attacked you. We know that she is working with Naraku. We don’t know why though.” He paused for a minute when she shifted and let out a small cry of pain. She got comfortable again and he continued what he was saying. “I have decided to agree to performing the spell that will get our parents back.” Kagome’s eyes widened and she smiled happily at him. “That means so much to me Sesshy.” she whispered as she fell asleep.
He was about to leave when he heard Kagome call out to him. Don’t leave me. Please don’t leave me Sesshy.” she whimpered. He came closer to her bed and pulled a chair up. “I won’t leave you Kagome. Now get some rest.” the demon half of him purred. Kagome smiled and fell asleep .

Sesshomaru’s POV
‘Why did I feel angry when I saw Kagome in Youko’s arms? It’s not like I want her as my mate.’ You know that you want her as your mate. You got angry at Youko because you were jealous of him. Kagome was in his arms and not yours. Get some sleep. I think that you will need it. His conscious left him alone and he saw the bed behind him. ‘I won’t be leaving her if I stay in this room. This is the bed I would be in if I was too hurt to move out of here. I’ll just use it tonight.’ He thought as he settled down into the soft silk sheets.
'I'm going to have to get my answers to my questions tomorrow. I'm not going to be able to get them today.'
‘Kagome should only be touched by myself alone. I will make sure that happens soon.’ both the rational and demon side of Sesshomaru thought.

Shadow15*: Sorry if parts of it seems weird. I’m writing this chapter so I can get to the part that Sess Kag and Inu perform the spell. Man this one was easier to write now that both of them realize that they have some kind of feelings for each other. I think that I’m going to have Youko fall in love with Kagome too. That will make it more interesting.
