ADDITIONAL AN- Okay- this chap has kinda added a whole big exchange, so you may want to re-read it if you already have. You’ll kinda be lost later if you don’t! Sorry, and thanks much! Now I'm off to finish the next chap if it kills me! XD
AN: Alrighty folks, this one’s a doosey. There’s a lemon in this chapter. You know what that means: SEXUAL ORIENTED MATERIAL. I will let you readers who want to skip over it know with a *, and let you know it’s over w/ a *. Although, I think the lemons are crucial to my story, and I don’t like to use them randomly, I understand that some don’t wish to read them, and I respect that. I hope you respect that I enjoy them. XD hehe. Here goes.

..::So Much Can Happen in the Bedroom::..
Kagome absently fingered her birthmark as she lay on her back staring up at the roof of Inu Yasha's canopy. It was the second night she'd been staying in his room, and this night Inu Yasha had merely replied her goodnight, although somewhat gruffly, and ignored any comments or questions she had as if he were in deep thought. Her thoughts found themselves on a topic thathad been plaguing her lately: that of The Mother.
It had to be a coincidence that she had a sunburst shaped birthmark on her side, that she had one in the spot Inu Yasha had told her was that of the reincarnations’ after the jewel's wish. It had to be coincidence that when he first mentioned the jewel she felt a slight tugging on her side. It had to be.
She turned to her side and let out an exasperated breath. She wondered herself why she felt so at ease here when Inu Yasha had informed her that nearly all persons in residence at the mansion were indeed some type of 'vampire', including Sango and Miroku. She hadn't seen them long enough to ask about it, although she planned to soon.
"Oi, wench. Can't you quit squirming and get to sleep already?" She jumped at his voice.
"I thought you were asleep." She said meekly.
"How could I sleep with you fidgeting like that?" he said in an annoyed tone.
"Sorry, I have a lot on my mind, that's all." She said with bemusement, focusing on the darkness.
"Well get it the hell off your mind and get to sleep!" he barked. His irritated growl was made less intimidating by a stifled yawn. Sighing, Kagome did as he said and finally gave herself tosleep shortly after.
Kagome felt different. As soon as she relaxed in the large bed, it felt asthough a large gust of wind carried her away, dropping her in complete darkness. When she opened her eyes she found she was feeding pigs on her farm.
Since when did she have a farm? She shrugged it off and continued to feed the pigs, calling to them affectionately and giggling when they snuggled her hand. She stopped momentarily to watch the sun disappear completely beyond the hills, surrendering to night and to the soft glowing of the moon.
She smiled and wiped perspiration of a hard day's work from her face with her forearm. She furrowed her brow as a tingling began in her side and she quickly rubbed it, hoping not to be noticed by her mother. She turned quickly to get to her house, gathering her long skirts to prepare to run; something felt odd tonight.
She began running hurriedly before she smashed into something solid, knocking her boisterously on her rear. She took in a sharp breath as she slowly brought her eyes up to its face. It was twistedin a concerned expression. He looked deadly and gentle, all at once. It was the type of face you could take comfort in, that begged you to take comfort in.
"Why are you in such a hurry?" He asked casually, making his apparent concern more convincing. Sighing, the girl smiled meekly and accepted an offered hand, taking note of its comforting calluses. "I'm afraid I was a bit silly. Childish, really." She laughed to herself, "I suppose the stories the children were telling are beginning to get to me."
Kagome wrinkled her forehead at her voice. It was so different; she also took notice that while her forehead was wrinkled, the brow of the girl who was she did not. Besides that, what she was saying she wasn't really saying. It was as if she was stuck in somebody else's body and watching as they did everything- a movie in her perspective.
"Children have such animated imaginations." The man said gently, offering his arm. The girl took it, blushing, and nodded, "I suppose they do." She sighed, "I thank you for walking me home, sir." She looked up at him, watching in confusion as his gentle features changed suddenly to feral and wild. He looked at her, his bloodlust shining in his eyes, and smiled as she gasped. "Who said I was walking you home?" He nearly growled at her, his face becoming a feral mask that was not human. His forehead sloped back more, with demonic looking bumps along his brow, and his nose became a flat snout. His jaw grew wider and his teeth grew to sharp points, with his canines sticking out longer and sharper than the rest. She screamed and tried to push him off of her, her fingertips glowing with some pink magic that seemed to burn him.
She again gathered her skirts and began to run wildly, tears of fear visible at the corners of her eyes. She gasped as the man stood before her once again, a feral grin playing on his newly transformed features, twisting them into a more menacing sight.
"Now, now. I won't hurt you. It'll be quick and painless. If you're lucky." His grin broadened at her fearful expression. Quickly he was at her neck, ripping into it with his sharp incisors and sucking greedily at her blood, marveling in the purity of it.
Kagome watched from above now, seeing the girl's features twisted in fear, blood smeared at her jaw and shoulder, the animal ripping into her already dead body. She watched in her own fear as the man wrenched into her side, pulling out a marble-sized pink stone. The stone was glowing and seemed to be pulsating in sync with what would have been the girl's heartbeat, still quick from her fear. Kagome watched in horror as the scene changed, and an appalling man sat with the stone between his thumb and forefinger. He was grinning in a manner that could only be described as evil, and he laughed as he flicked his delicate wrist and watched as the man who had killed the girl died from decapitation.
Kagome felt ill and nearly retched where she stood from the all too real stench of blood and death that surrounded the wild man. She was forced to watch as he made his wish and the jewel glowed brilliantly before darkening to a sinister black and shimmering out of existence. She watched again as the scene changed, and the same man was now drinking greedily from a nearly dead man who was struggling to keep his lungs and heart working.
The wild man pulled away from the man in his mouth, grinning untamedly as he slit his wrist and forced the man to drink from it. Kagome cried out from the pain she felt emitting from him, although it went unheard by the men. She continued to watch as the man who was trying desperately not to swallow the other man's blood wrench with pain and, finally, lay still.
The man still upright stood patiently, looking quite victorious. He stood that way for a while, watching expectantly. When nothing happened, save for the final beat of the man's heart, he growled in rage and frustration, going on a wild rampage, killing anything that moved in his way.
Kagome felt all the pain, physical and emotional, caused by this man andbegan to scream out and cry, trying to ward it off. Breathing becamedifficult and she willed herself to wake up. When nothing happened, shesobbed uncontrollably as the suffering became unbearable.
“Wench! Wake up! Kagome? Kagome, come on. It's a nightmare, wake up." He was pleading with her.
The sobs and screams that were coming from Kagome had roused Inu Yasha. "No, no. Too much pain; make it stop." Kagome whimpered through her tears. "Kagome, come on. It's okay, it's just a dream." Inu Yasha shook her lightly, jumping back as she sat up with extreme speed and let loose a blood-curdling scream.
He had to flatten his ears to his head to, in his opinion, avoid going deaf. "No!" She gasped, panting heavily as she looked around with wide eyes. When she saw Inu Yasha she let out a breath of relief and again began crying, leaning against his chest. Inu Yasha awkwardly patted her back, trying to calm her down. He remembered, suddenly, a way his father had once calmed him, when he was a child, from horrible nightmares.
Kagome relaxed against him, resigning to slight sniffles and silent tears. After a few minutes of purring and absently stroking her back, he whispered assurances to her. "It's alright, it's only a dream, Kagome." He said more firmly this time, pulling her away from him by her shoulders.
Kagome's eyes widened and looked at him in confusion, "What?" he asked. "You, you called," sniff, "you called me Kagome. By my name." She whispered. 'Oi, is that all?' he questioned himself as he sat crossed legged in front of her.
"What was the dream about?" he asked her, not commenting on her realization. He stiffened in a moment of confusion when she began to pull her shirt up, stopping just below her chest.
"This." She whispered as she lightly traced her birthmark. Inu Yasha's jaw dropped; she was... was, "Kagome? Are you saying" he trailed off at her silent nod.
"I dreamt about that jewel. All the pain that man caused. I lived the girl's attack. It... hurt so much." She sobbed again, more silent tears falling faster than before. "He killed all those people." Kagome dropped her shirt to skim along her shorts and slowly laid down on the bed, curling herself up and holding a pillow for comfort. "It was so... real."
Inu Yasha sat dumbfounded. “Don’t be mad at me, Inu Yasha, please. I don’t think I could handle it if you were upset with me” she sniffled out. Kagome began heaving from lack of breath. Inu Yasha blinked a few times before realizing what Kagome had said; “How could I be mad at you, Kagome?” This caused her to sob more.
‘Fuck.’ Inu Yasha thought dumbly. ‘How am I supposed to comfort her? I don’t know anything about this shit.’ Then, Inu Yasha did something that surprised himself. He leaned down and captured Kagome’s lips with his own.
Her eyes grew to the size of dinner plates, and all she saw was Inu Yasha’s closed eyes and his draping silver hair. She gasped for breath, for hers had been so irregular before, and Inu Yasha deepened the kiss, slipping his warm tongue into her mouth. Giving in, Kagome relaxed and dropped the pillow, snaking her arms around his neck, pulling him closer to her.
‘Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit” repeated in his head like a mantra. After she had opened her mouth, he had reacted on instinct. Now he couldn’t stop himself, partly from the embarrassment he didn’t want to feel when he had to look at her again, and partly from the want and the need to go on. He wanted to be with her; she had a way of making his skin heat up, of making him heat up. He held himself up slightly, not putting his full weight on her.
*** (Uh, that means lemon XD) ***
Noises became muffled and far away; all he focused on was her. Her breathing, her heartbeat, her sighs and moans were all acutely picked up by his sensitive ears. His lips moved away from hers, nipping and licking down her neck. With a light growl, Inu Yasha ripped Kagome’s T-shirt open, revealing her bronzed breasts to him. He lovingly lavished each breast with equal amounts of care. Hearing her moans and sighs, he smiled around her nipple. This was about her. She needed this more than he did.
No, that was a lie. He’d needed her since he’d inhaled her intoxicating scent of dread. She’d had him hooked with her sensual body. Inu Yasha wanted to show her. He wanted to show her how she made him feel, how he wanted her to feel in return.
Kagome’s fingers entwined in Inu Yasha’s hair as she pushed her chest up to him with desire. Damn Houjo. If he really loved her then he would have found her by now. She didn’t love him. She never had; she knew that now. It was a match of reason. She had always been close to her brother, and he had always been close to her. She had dated a friend of his before, just because they were there. They were somebody who cared for her, not the other way around.
But this time was different. She felt for Inu Yasha, deeply, and that scared the hell out of her. Inu Yasha’s urgent nips and licks brought her mind back to the present as she bucked her hips in lust. A deep knot was forming in her abdomen, and she wanted release.
She let out a deep moan as she felt Inu Yasha move away from her perked breasts and move down her belly. He paused a moment to relish in her bellybutton before pulling her shorts down and away from her moistness. She moaned and writhed as he enjoyed himself in her depths. He let loose growls of satisfaction as he tasted her, causing Kagome’s arousal to multiply.
“Please, Inu Yasha. I need you,” Kagome whimpered. The need in her voice made him groan. “Gods, what are you doing to me Kagome?” He murmured against her as he made his way up her body and back to her lips. Helping him free himself from his pants, Kagome gripped his hips, raking her fingernails along his side.
Inu Yasha and Kagome moaned simultaneously. They both loved the way they fit together. So warm and so perfect. Kagome bit at her lip to stifle the screams of pleasure that wanted to come out. Her small hands gripped at his strong rear, trying to pull him deeper.
Inu Yasha groaned in delight. The feel of her was breathtaking. With each thrust he felt himself growing closer, and he was in conflict with himself. He didn’t want to slow down, he couldn’t, but if this feeling never ended it would be far too soon. Each push grew more reckless as his instincts began to take over.
‘Fuck.’ Inu Yasha grit his teeth, trying to stay in control. He felt his bloodlust coming in waves over him. As he neared his peak he bit his lip in attempt to keep it cool in front of Kagome. He couldn’t bite her, couldn’t do that to her. He refused to hurt her.
Kagome writhed under him, biting her finger to keeps her screams subdued. She didn’t notice her lover’s plight above her, as she was relishing in her own pleasure. Body shaking, Kagome screamed his name loudly, unable to keep it in any longer.
Hearing his name on his Kagome’s lips, Inu Yasha could hold back no more. He tasted his own blood in his mouth as his jaw tightened with his release. Swallowing, he looked down at his lover and saw her lazy contented smile.
*** (Yup, it’s over. ;.;) ***
“I could get used to that,” she winked at him, grinning lethargically. Inu Yasha smiled a closed-mouth smile at her, swallowing the blood that had flooded his mouth. Kagome’s stomach dropped in lust at his sexiness. He stretched himself and laid next to her, wrapping his arms around her snugly, and tucked her head under his chin. ‘Fuck.’ he said in his mind again, half from the sting in his bottom lip, and half from the wonder of what had just happened.
Inu Yasha woke an hour before the sun went down completely and silently checked on Kagome. He quickly grabbed his clothes and pulled them onto his naked form. When he finished he once again checked on Kagome and made his way to Miroku's room.
"Yeah, coming." Came a groggy voice behind the door Inu Yasha had just finished banging on. "Inu Yasha! Wha-"
"Oi, this is no time for pleasantries, monk." Miroku smiled at the title- what he was before he became a Childe. "Well, then. Come in, let's talk."
Inu Yasha sat at the chair next to Miroku's desk and accepted a drink from the good friend. "Now, Yash, what's bugging you?" Miroku asked, sitting on his bed and stifling a yawn. "The Mother." Inu Yasha said simply, staring at his hands clutched around the glass.
"From that legend you told me?" Miroku asked, taking a drink of his own drink.
"It's not a legend, Miroku." Inu Yasha said gravely, slowly bringing his eyes to meet the monk's, "Wha-"
"It's her." He interrupted. Miroku looked confusedly at his glass. Realization hit him, nearly as hard as Sango would, and he looked up startled,
"Kagome.?" His eyes grew wide again as Inu Yasha nodded, taking another drink. "I think Sango should be here." Miroku said, downing the rest of his drink and making his way to his own intercom. "Sango." He said simply, clearing his throat.
Sango entered the room and cocked her head to the side at Miroku's grave expression. "Miroku? What is..." she trailed off when she saw Inu Yasha sitting with a similar expression. "What's going on, guys?" She asked nervously.
"The Mother." Inu Yasha simply repeated, staring down into his glass of liquor.
"What about her?" Sango asked, her voice cracking slightly. When it came to The Mother it couldn't be good.
"She's here." Inu Yasha slowly raised his eyes up to Sango's.
"H-how. I mean. How can you be sure?" She finally managed to get out, practically falling to the floor to sit Indian-style between the bed and chair.
"It's Kagome." Inu Yasha sighed, setting his drink on the dresser, and rubbing his temples from frustration.
Sango's eyes went wide. "What are you going to do?"
Inu Yasha's face looked grim. He wanted that jewel. But he didn't know how to get it from her without killing her. He definitely didn't want her dead. He sighed again. "I... I don't know."
Sango looked at the carpet, fidgeting with her hands, "Does she know?" she let out a breath when he nodded. She didn't know if it was good or bad, but she somehow felt it made things a little less complicated. "So. I suppose we wait?"
Sango sunk back against the bedpost.
'Should I have told him?' Kagome inquired to herself. 'What if... Dammit, I don'tknow!' She hadn’t regretted the night they spent together, even after she awoke to find him gone. Somehow she knew that it was for a good reason. Kagome’s ribs shot a sharp stab of pain through her after making a wrong move, causing her to curse out loud. She couldn’t help but smile from the memory of last nights events.
She sighed, shifting slightly when she thought she heard something tap the door. Upon straining her ears she found she had, in fact, heard a tapping. "Hello?" She asked quietly, slowly inching the door open.
"Breakfast?" She looked down at the small voice to see a boy with flaming hair. "Sure." She said as jovially as possible in her state of mind. The little boy smiled up at her brightly and bound into the room when she opened it fully. "Hi! I'm Shippo!" He said excitedly, looking around for somewhere to set the tray. "Let me get that." Kagome smiled, taking said tray to place it on the desk. "It's nice to meet you, Shippo. I'm Kagome." She smiled warmly. "Kagome? That's a pretty name!" She laughed at his apparent energy. "I like Shippo, too," she said more lightheartedly.
"Do you want to visit for a while?" She was hopeful for someone to talk to, even if it was only a small child. "Yeah!" He said excitedly. "But," his face fell, "I have to help Sango with the laundry today." He frowned and looked up at her sadly.
"Well, that's fine then." Kagome said after a few minutes, "What if I helped? And then afterwards you could come over. Maybe we could get Inu Yasha to find some crayons and coloring books?" She smiled when Shippo's face brightened and he nodded vigorously. "Okay then. I'll have to talk to Inu Yasha, then." She said determinedly. "Is he in his room?" Shippo thought, "Nuh-uh. He went to see Miroku a little while ago."
Kagome nodded. "Could you take me there?" Shippo cocked his head to the side, "I don't see why not!" He said after a while. "All right then, just let me change." Kagome went to the wardrobe, Sango had brought some clothing the previous day, and grabbed some jeans and a red spaghetti strapped sun dress. "I'll be right out!" She called over her shoulder before closing the bathroom door. She sighed and quickly slipped into the pale ripped jeans and plain cotton sun dress. She grabbed her brush and made her way out.
Kagome smiled at Shippo and ripped her brush through her hair one final time. "Let's go, then." Shippo nodded and grabbed her left hand, tugging excitedly on her arm."Shippo?" She asked suddenly, furrowing her brow, "Y-you're a Childe?" Shippo stopped and looked at her like she was crazy, "Yeah. I'm still a kid." He cocked his head to the side in confusion. "Are you okay?"
Kagome shook her head, "No, Shippo." She said firmly, "A Childe, not a kid. You're... like Inu Yasha." She stated, however it came out more of a question.
"Oh! Yeah. But Inu Yasha's Mommy was a human, and mine wasn't." He said, finally understanding her. "You were born like this, then." She said, more to herself, out of relief.
Shippo continued to look at her oddly until she shook her head cleared her throat. "Where's Inu Yasha?" She said rather quickly.
"Oh yeah!" Shippo giggled, again tugging her arm gleefully. "We're almost there!"
A few moments later they stopped in front of a fairly large door, "This is Miroku's room!" He said cheerily, banging loudly on the door. Kagome nodded and waited, tucking a piece of hair behind her ears. She wiggled her toes, suddenly wishing she had at least worn socks.
"Huh?" All of their heads snapped up at once at a rather loud and impatient sounding banging on the door. "Coming!" Miroku said after a minute, going over possibilities in his head and wondering whom it could be.
"Hell...o?" He raised an eyebrow at Shippo.
"We've come to see Inu Yasha!" Shippo chirped happily.
"We?" Miroku asked before noticing Kagome and going stiff. "Ah. Uh... Lady Kagome!" He bowed stiffly.
Inu Yasha went rigid. What was she doing there? Obviously to see him, like Shippo said. "Miroku." He heard a voice say politely. "I need to speak with Inu Yasha a moment, unless you're in the middle of something important, that is." She said uncertainly.
"Oh. uh, Yash?" He turned to the aforementioned half demon.
"What do you want?" He asked a little more gruffly than he had intended. Kagome flinched at his tone.
"Umm... Shippo said Sango and he had to do laundry today. I was... wondering." She took a deep breath.
Why was she so shaken up? She scolded herself mentally before choking out a grim "I was wondering if you would care if I were to help. And I was also hoping you could get some coloring books and crayons so Shippo could visit and have something to do." She said the last bit more firmly, although her voice was still barely above a whisper. Kagome pushed back the tears she felt beginning to sting her eyes. Had he regretted the night before? What if it had been a mistake?
Inu Yasha nearly fell from her simple requests, although he silently thanked the gods it wasn't about The Mother just yet. "Feh. Why would I care if you helped with laundry?" He said, this too sounding harsher than he had intended.
"Okay." Kagome cocked her head, "What about the crayons?"
Inu Yasha raised an eyebrow, "I don't have any!" He snorted.
"Well, that doesn't mean you can't get some!" Kagome retorted, getting angry at his attitude.
"Kagome!" Sango finally piped up.
"Oh! Hello Sango!" Kagome said excitedly, attempting to forget about her quarrel with Inu Yasha. "I didn't see you there!" She said sheepishly, laughing nervously. "You wouldn't mind if I helped with laundry would you?"
Sango looked at her as if she had grown two heads; "No... it would be nice." She finally laughed out.
"Okay." Kagome said with a laugh, relief in her tone.
"Any way, I have some crayons in my room, although no coloring books. Paper though. Maybe we could go to a 24 hour store later?" Kagome smiled, "That would be great!"
"You're not going." Inu Yasha commanded.
"And why not?" Kagome nearly shouted.
"Let Sango go. You can't leave!" He snorted.
"Arg! You're so... difficult!" Kagome all but shouted.
"And you're annoying. Sit down. And quit yelling." Kagome eyed him suspiciously.
"Why would I sit down?" She raised an eyebrow.
"Because I said so! Sit down. Shippo, you leave."
Shippo whimpered and snuggled closer to Kagome, "Do I have to?"
Kagome smiled and patted his head, crouching to his level, "Awe, c'mon, Shippo! We'll see each other when we do laundry and when we color, okay?"
Shippo pouted before reluctantly nodding, "Promise?" Kagome smiled brightly.
"Promise." She assured him. Shippo smiled and hopped happily out of the room as Miroku shut the door quietly behind him.
"Now what's this all about?" She asked frowning.
"Since you're here." Inu Yasha sighed and put his head in his hand. What now? Now that she was here? What was he going to do? He growled in frustration, getting an odd look from Kagome.
"Oh." She said quietly. "This is... this is about that." She sighed and took a seat on the other bedpost so they were in a circle.
"Yeah." Inu Yasha said gruffly.
"Well... what about those," she furrowed her brow, "those "Watchers"?" She looked up at him. "I mean... aren't they supposed to stop the people like," Kagome bit her lip, shivering slightly at the mere thought of him, "like Naraku?"
Inu Yasha watched her intently. "Yeah. It's just that the only Watcher I know is an old woman hardly capable of protecting anything."
Kagome looked more contemplative; "We should see her anyway. I can't bare to think of what more havoc that Naraku will bring forth if he gets the jewel." She shuddered again, this time more visibly.
"If anything, we'll destroy it." Her voice was small but she looked him in the eye, "Me too, if it's needed." She bit out after a while. Inu Yasha looked at her intensely, his surprise and... fear?... not visible on his carefully masked face, although they shone brightly in his eyes. Everyone was quiet for a while.
"Now, now, Lady Kagome." Miroku spoke up, "I'm sure there's no need for anything like that!' He said as jovially as possible. "I suggest Yash take you to this Watcher as soon as possible. We will accompany you, of course." Sango nodded her agreement to the plan.
"What about my brother?" Kagome asked frantically. "I can't do anything because Sir-oh-so-mighty over there's holding me prisoner until you get some people back! If I know my brother he'll have people roaming the streets day and night!" Kagome was having a hard time keeping from screaming now. She missed Souta dearly and needed to see him soon.
"We can't worry about that now!" Inu Yasha shouted back, "You're brother's working for Sessomaru! I've no doubt that bastard's already formed an alliance with Naraku himself! Wouldn't you rather this jewel be in safe hands before they catch word of its definite existence?" He was fuming now, towering over Kagome's small form.
"Souta wouldn't." Kagome's voice was small and she was trying to choke back the tears already forming in her eyes.
"Kagome," Inu Yasha stated more softly, although firmly, as he crouched down to be at her level. "Souta wouldn't, but Sessomaru would." He attempted to raise her gaze to his own with a soft nudge under her chin.
Reluctantly, she looked at him, "I... When do we go?" she sniffed, pulling her knees up to her chest and hugging them for comfort.
"Tomorrow." Kagome nodded and placed her forehead on her knees, sniffing back her tears and taking a few deep breaths.
“Okay, but before we go, I want answers. I’ve been led blindly, like a child, since I’ve landed here.” Frustration at being left out of the loop tore at her. Kagome wanted to rip her hair our. She snorted a small, dangerous laugh; at least then she would be in control.
Inu Yasha watched her through weary, heavy golden eyes. He hadn’t been fair to her; he knew that. He sat cross-legged on the edge of the bed. It was just so much easier this way. No real emotional attachment.
‘Shit, that sounded bad,’ he cursed himself. Kagome wasn’t just sex, or just a prisoner. She was so much more than that, and it scared him shitless.
Watching Inu Yasha’s revelation transpire on his face with silent curiosity, Kagome was confused. His eyes turned a deep amber that Kagome thought was beautiful. As the new color reached his eyes, his face seemed to turn into an expression that seemed like he understood something, then was frightened by it. Her breath hitched as his gaze suddenly turned hungry and focused on her.
Miroku and Sango exchanged knowing looks. “So, um, Kagome, what is it you need answered?” Sango asked experimentally.
Inu Yasha’s expression faltered guiltily a moment before schooling it back to normal. A heavy blush stained Kagome’s cheeks, however, and it wasn’t going anywhere.
“Right.” She took a deep breath and made up her mind, “Sesshomaru.” Inu Yasha raised an eyebrow but remained quiet. “Who exactly is he, and what exactly does he want? Oh, and how does he have anything to do with my being here!” It was supposed to be a question, but in her frustration she nearly yelled it. Questions were pouring through Kagome’s head and out of her mouth before she could stop them.
She knew the questions made Inu Yasha uncomfortable, but she needed answers. Just when she was about to give up, Inu Yasha spoke, staring at nothing as he did. “The bastard’s my brother. He doesn’t agree with our decision to help humans, or the fact that I’m half. Half human, half Childe, half brother. I shouldn’t even be here,” he snorted a semi-laugh. “I’m a fucking abomination- a fucking half breed!” Emotion seeped through his voice, an occurrence that he didn’t like happening often. He took a deep breath and tried to straighten his posture to regain control.
Kagome’s heart reached out to him. She wanted to let him know she cared, but she didn’t know how. Before she realised what she was doing, she moved up to the bed to sit beside him, lacing her fingers with his. The action surprised him, but he seemed to calm. “Sesshomaru fucking hates me. He’s always finding ways to torment me, including kidnaping my top assassins.”
“Hey- he’s never got us,” Sango cried indignantly.
“Well, some of them” Inu Yasha corrected, allowing a half smile to splay across his face.
“Wait,” Kagome interrupted, “Assassins?” This was all way too confusing.
“Oh, yeah, about that.” Inu Yasha ran a hand through his long, platinum hair, “I guess we are what you could call a,” he searched for the term, “faction against the not-so-nice Childes that roam the streets.” He gave a heart-melting smile before pinching his nose in confusion. This was so much information at one time; he just hoped he wasn’t confusing her.
Kagome tried to digest all of the information at once. ‘You asked for this, Kagome-girl!’ she thought, gripping Inu Yasha’s hand a bit more firmly.
“Are you alright, baby?” He whispered, low enough for only her to hear, against her cheek. The intimacy mildly surprised them both, but what surprised them more was how natural it felt. She leaned into him and shook her head.
“I’ll be fine, could I just get a drink? Preferably something with a kick.” Inu Yasha just nodded and wrapped his arms around her.
“Hey, uh, Miroku, do you mind sharing some of your good booze?” Inu Yasha asked, snuggling Kagome’s head under his chin.
“Sure thing.” Miroku cleared his throat and moved to his collection. He added a few ice cubes to a short class and poured a warm honey-colored liquid over it. It vaguely reminded Kagome of Inu Yasha’s eyes. “Here,” He handed it to Inu Yasha, who transferred it into a very tired looking Kagome’s hands.
“Thanks,” she murmured, sipping the liquor. She closed her eyes as the warm liquid slid down her throat, leaving a slightly scratchy, yet mostly tickling, sensation.
“Feel better?” Inu Yasha asked her, rubbing small circles on the small of her back with his thumb.
Kagome nodded, holding the class between both hands. “Yeah. So, you guys fight the bad guys.” Inu Yasha smiled at the simple way she put it.
“Yeah, something like that.”
Kagome nodded again, took another drink, and steeled herself, “So was I meant to be a bargaining device from the beginning? Was I supposed to bruise a few ribs?” She asked it so coldly and she went so rigid under his touch.
Inu Yasha’s ears drooped and he tried to apologize with butterfly kisses along her jaw. “Sort of, but it changed.”
Miroku and Sango sat, uncomfortably, watching the exchange. They were both more than a little confused about what had transpired between their leader and new companion.
“You weren’t actually meant to have been brought here at all,” Miroku offered, a bit unsurely. “Some rooky assassins panicked. It was meant to be an informative infiltration. We were gonna knock some heads, break a few arms and form a plan after we found out where they were holding our people. Wham-bam-thank you, ma’am.” Miroku made a crude gesture with his last remark. “A trade was one of the possibilities mentioned, but hurting you was not intended. It was a mistake, but you are surely welcome here now, Lady Kagome.” Miroku made a slight bowing motion with his head.
“It’s true, ya know?” Inu Yasha refused to look at her. The shame was too much to face her, but he tightened his grip on her hand, and kept rubbing his circles on her back.
"Alright." She said as cheerfully as possible, looking up. She quickly wiped a few stray tears from her eyes and smiled brightly. "Now, about those coloring books." Kagome tried to be lighthearted; the wounded puppy look was too much for her to bare. Inu Yasha smiled slightly and nodded, slipping the drink from her hands and setting it next to his forgotten one. He then helped her to her feet, where Kagome studied Inu Yasha intensely.
"I'll send out for some while you guys are doing laundry." Inu Yasha said softly, surprising his two friends present in the room even more. They merely exchanged glances once again.
"Thank you." Kagome took a deep breath and dropped her hand to her side.
After a few moments of awkward silence, Sango spoke up, "I suppose we'll get to that laundry, then." She stood up and stretched a moment before turning to Kagome.
"Alright." She smiled easily. "Call for Shippo, Miroku. We're on our way to the laundry room. Has your clothing been taken up?" She questioned the two men. They both nodded and she grabbed Kagome's left wrist. "Alright! Girl time!" She said excitedly, giggling slightly and causing the males present to shake their heads, faint smiles touching their lips.
"Kagome!" She heard from the doorway as she was placing a load of laundry into a rather large washing machine.
"Oh, hello, Shippo!" she replied brightly, wiping her hands on each other to rid them of the powdered laundry detergent that had collected there. The little boy ran happily and latched himself around her legs, rubbing his face affectionately into her thigh.
Kagome laughed and patted his head, crouching down to his level when he loosened his grip. "Hey! It's good to see you too," she laughed, giving his arm an affectionate squeeze.
"Do I have dryer duty again?" He asked, looking from Kagome to Sango and back to Kagome.
"Sure do. All you have to do is unload the dryer, fold the clothing neatly, and put them in whoever's pile they go in." Sango spoke, pouring a load of laundry out of a hamper and into a machine.
"How can you tell who gets what?" Kagome asked, eyeing a pair of nearly identical, yet very different, socks.
"Shippo's nose is great." Sango winked at him, ruffling his hair a bit. "It's far more advanced than some of those borne to Childes, although it's no match for Yash's." Sango smiled and continued loading another washing machine.
Kagome smiled warmly as she too went back to loading laundry into a machine. Before long, she felt a soft tug on the hem of the sun dress. "Hm?"
She looked down to see Shippo, "Inu Yasha's nose isn't that great." He grumbled, half pouting.
Kagome laughed and patted him on the head, "I'm sure yours is much better." She whispered winking.
"Like hell." Kagome whipped around to see an amused Inu Yasha standing in the doorway.
"Inu Yasha!" She screamed half-heartedly, "You scared me!" Kagome's hand went instinctively to her heart as she took a few deep breaths.
"Sorry; just thought I'd tell you that your... coloring books... are here." He raised an eyebrow. "They got some crayons. Just in case." Kagome smiled and nodded her thanks. "The shrimp's coming with us. Nobody here wants to watch him." Inu Yasha said teasingly.
"I'm not that bad!" Shippo huffed. "Going where?" Kagome looked at Shippo a moment before looking at Inu Yasha.
"We're going to Kaede's. You remember her, don't you?" Shippo nodded. "Kagome needs to talk to her, so we're going tomorrow. Pack a bag when you're done here." He looked at Kagome, "You too." With that he left, leaving them to their own devices.

AN: Alrighty! I’ve got this chappy up for your hentai pleasure. Lol. I was itching to write a lemon- and guess what- it’s my first one. Ever. How’d I do? I tried to keep it from being vulger because I thought that style of 'softcore' fit it better. Helped set the mood. I’d love some criticism (constructive, please!) I’m so sorry it has taken so long, but I’ve had a huge research paper due in English, and now finals have started up. I’ve been swamped. I thank you all SO MUCH for your PATIENCE and UNDERSTANDING! Not to mention your awesome support. You all just motivate me so much, and I want you all to know that.
I jst wanted to say thank you all, even the non-reviewers lol. You guys do so much for me already, and I couldn’t be happier. I’m apologizing in advance if it takes a while for the story to get updated, but it seems that I’m booked for the next few weeks! Eek! Much love, always, XOXO.
–Added AN- Sorry about the whole scene add in! But, I really did think I needed to introduce these ideas, and it wasn’t fitting into the next chapter I was writing. It just seemed like it would go naturally there! So there you go! And I added a few minor details around in the chapter as well... The only thing that should really effect the story, however, was the big scene continuation! XOXO
