Kagome awoke feeling extremely sore, and quite naked. She looked and saw she was indeed naked, underneath Inuyasha's haori. She looked next to her and saw what was left of her clothes.

“Kagome! You're awake!” Kagome saw Shippo run over to her.

“Shippo, where is everyone?”

“Miroku and Sango are investigating what happened to you, and Inuyasha sent Kirara to Kaede's to get some salve for your wounds.”

“Well, where's Inuyasha?”

“I'm here.” Kagome looked up to see Inuyasha walking into camp. She tried to sit up, but winced in pain.

“No Kagome. Let me help you sit up. Your wounds are really bad.” Inuyasha knelt down to help her. She grasped his haori as she sat up. A cool breeze blew against her bare back, making her sigh with relief.

“Kagome…what happened,” Inuyasha asked, concerned.

“Well, I…” a brief vision of red and silver flashed through her mind, “I don't remember. The last thing I remember was that I was looking for my Jewel shards—“

“Your Jewel shards?” Inuyasha had a confused look on his face, and Kagome realized her folly.

“W-well this morning I went to get my Jewel shards, and well…they were gone.”

“WHAT!?!” Inuyasha shot up.

“Inuyasha wait! I don't understand it. I distinctly remember putting them in my bag before I went to sleep.”

“Yeah just like you remember `distinctly' what caused all those scratches.” In the same instant, Inuyasha realized his mistake. Tears wielded up in Kagome's eyes, and her eyebrows drew together in anger.

“How dare you! You should be the one who can smell who did this to me, so don't blame this all on me!” Kagome gently laid back down, with her scratched up back faced at Inuyasha. His ears drooped.

“Kagome, I—“

“Inuyasha, if you don't want to be `S'd, then I suggest you leave me alone for now.”

“But—“

“Inuyasha, maybe you should gather some more firewood,” Shippo suggested, warning him away. Saddened, Inuyasha turned and walked away. Shippo turned back to Kagome.

“Kagome, you know Inuyasha doesn't mean any harm,” he said. Kagome sighed.

“I know, but this situation is a tad bit different that usual. I was attacked. Nothing like this has ever happened before.” Kagome cringed as a fresh pain shot through her body.

“Kagome are you ok,” Shippo asked.

“My back…it stings.” Shippo moved around to look at Kagome's back. The sight he saw was horrific. All of her scratches were red with irritation, and beginning to turn purple. They were also pulsating slightly.

“Kagome are you feeling alright,” Shippo asked.

“Well I feel a little nauseated.” At that moment, Miroku and Sango walked back into camp.

“Miroku, Sango! Kagome is poisoned,” Shippo shouted. Kagome had become concerned. How did she get poisoned?

“Shippo, what's wrong with my back,” Kagome asked.

“Your wounds are getting worse. They're turning purple.” Miroku and Sango ran over to Kagome to have a look.

“Oh my. Kagome they are really bad. Maybe you should go back to your time and get an antidote,” Sango urged.

“She won't be able to return. Her shards are gone,” Shippo said.

“No Shippo. I always keep one or two shards at home until the Jewel is complete. Just in case Inuyasha ever tries to keep me stuck there again.”

“Miroku, go with Shippo and get Inuyasha. I'll stay here and help her dress.”

“But—“

“Miroku! Now is not the time to be a hentai!”

“Alright, we'll be back. Come on Shippo.” Miroku and Shippo headed into the forest to find Inuyasha. Sango sighed and turned to Kagome.

“Always a hentai, no matter what the situation,” Sango muttered. Kagome smiled at her friend. She could see how much the two loved each other, she just didn't understand why they didn't just come out and say it. But then again, her relationship with Inuyasha was slightly the same.

“Kagome, do you remember what happened,” Sango asked.

“No actually I don't. Why, what did you find?” Sango helped Kagome stand.

“Well let's not talk about that right now. Do you have an extra set of clothing?”

“In my bag.” Sango retrieved the clothes from Kagome's bag, and helped her dress. After she was dressed, she helped Kagome sit down by the fire.

“Kagome!” She looked up to see Inuyasha burst into camp. He ran over to her and scooped her up without asking any questions.

“OW! Inuyasha! My wounds, damnit! Be careful!”

“We have to get to your time before sunset. It's the new moon tonight.” Without giving Kagome another chance to disagree with him, he turned and took off towards the well. Sango shook her head and sighed. She looked down, and saw Kagome's bag.

“Oh. WAIT! You forgot…your…” Sango lost her words as she noticed a white hair ribbon on a strap of Kagome's bag. It was made of silk, and had a long dark hair attached to it. Only priestess' wore white silk hair ribbons, to show their status as a priestess.

“Oh no…” Sango mumbled.
