Of death my come

Chapter 4: Take me into magic of the moment on a glory night.

Tetsudai let his lime green eyes linger over the pictures on the wall. It were homely normal pictures. He especially took his time taking in the most resent picture of a set of twin girls by the name Higurashi Kagome and Higurashi Kikyo.

Unusually there was a faint smile playing over his lips while he looked at the girls, well young woman really. But there girlyness was still evident in this picture it was dated almost one year back. His meeting with the older of the twins told him that what was captured in this photo was now gone forever, at least for Higurashi Kikyo.

With one slender long fingered hand he brushed back his bangs, even though he was in his late twenties Tetsudai kept his long hairstyle. Black hair momentarily stuck in the right place before falling back. Tetsudai ignored it en walked back to the kitchen.

His partner Samategeru, just Geru for his friends was now talking with Higurashi Kikyo and he seemed to be making as much progress as Tetsudai had the day earlier, to be short. None at all. That brought an almost smile to Tetsudai's lips.

Geru watched him from the corner of his eye (he had lost his right eye in a fight years back) and curled his lips, but returned his attention to Kikyo almost immediately. No they were definitely not the best of friends but for some reason when working together they were unbeatable, so Tetsudai and Samategeru had a silent agreement to be at there best when at work. Which was of course no reason for them not to challenge each other outside work.

"Tell me again miss Higurashi, I need you to tell me that night you and your sister walked home detailed. I need to know ever little thing." Geru said with a harsh voice while he tried to catch the grey eyes but Kikyo kept looking away from him.

So far she only told that her sister had been attacked when she had crossed the road to talk to some guy, which she had trouble describing. Something Geru found very hard to believe and then there where the little snags in her story that didn't quite fit.

All in all he knew just like Dai that she was withholding information from them, however sincere her angst and fear over her sisters disappearance seemed to be.

"I told you everything I know, I just… its all just so blurry and I can't… I can't… remember- the sentence was closed of with sobbing and hurried footsteps from a over protective mother.

"Really must you keep asking her the same questions. She had told you everything she knows. What more can she do." Mrs. Higurashi said while pulling her daughter in a comforting embrace.

Brown eyes flamed with suppressed emotions and anger, huge smoldering anger. Geru swallowed and looked away from the mother. Who cooed at her daughter guided her from the chair and disappeared up the stairs to the second floor.

Tetsudai rolled his eyes. "You baka, when are you going to learn to keep that temper of yours in check. You know she isn't telling everything, I know she isn't telling everything but this is not the way to get the truth."

Tetsudai jerked at the flaps of his cashmere jacked pulling the collar up. His lime green eyes held a thread in them in them and Geru backed down but his violet eye sparked and promised an I'll-get back-at-you-later.

Tetsudai ignored it and left the shrine. The flaps of his jacked flew wildly around his lower legs but he ignored that to. His instincts told him that he might find some information if he retraced the girls steps of that faithful night. And maybe, just maybe he would find out what that sister was hiding.

[s][w][i][t][c][h] Kikyo watched the black haired man walk down the ancient steps. He somehow reminded her of some one but she couldn't put her finger on it, maybe he was an older brother of one of the students in her class.

Then tears just started to spill down her cheeks, it had become a normal occurrence since the disappearance of Kagome. Feeling weak and drained Kikyo let her self fall on the floor with a thump.

And she began crying in earnest no sound came from her however. The pain was just to deep, it hurted to much and silent tears kept falling drenching her sweater. From far away she heard the door open and close again, which told her that the orange haired cop had left as well.

Soon after that she heard her mothers steps come up the stairs and stop before her door, but this time the older woman didn't come in. she must have figured that Kikyo wanted to be left alone right now. Kikyo was grateful when her mother walked on to her own bedroom.

Hours passed by and Kikyo dry her cheeks and stumbled into the bathroom. Pulling her cloths of in a shaky sluggish way. Then she proceeded into the shower and turned to knobs until they were in the satisfied way.

Warm water quickly drenched her hair and skin. With an sad smile she picked the lavender shampoo from a small iron shelve. It was Kagome favorite brand smell, while Kikyo preferred Vanilla. But right now this made her feel better, like she was carrying a piece of Kagome close.

Giving her scalp a thorough massage and rinsing her hair with a quick smooth movement Kikyo almost flew against the wall when she heard a loud thump in the bedroom. Hart racing and nerves screaming Kikyo was scared at first but then her mind told her it might be Kagome coming back.

Without hesitation Kikyo left the shower and running wet and naked into the room, to her sister. A cold breeze was the first thing that welcomed her but Kikyo being excited as she was didn't feel a thing, she did however see that it was not Kagome who sat on the bed looking like he owed the world.

Stopping dead in her tracks Kikyo looked at the well build man sitting on Kagome's bed. Stunned into do nothing more than stare Kikyo watched as the black clad men turned his head and bright red eyes bored into her own grey ones.

"Want to go find your sister?" he asked. His voice velvet black suited his outfit marvelous.

:::::::: very slowly Kagome came to her senses, one by one her senses woke and Kagome felt more alive than ever before in her live. Then the irony hit her, she had to die to really start her live and feel like living.

A soft smile turned up the corners from her mouth and then it hit her, even in the mess she was in now she could still feel pleasure, still be happy and then bitterness crept in side her heart taking away the small true smile.

How could she be having fun when her family was probably feeling sick with worry, how could she enjoy this half live, this cursed death. A piercing pain in her chest and sadness swept over her and Kagome curled her self in a tiny ball. Just like yesterday tears wouldn't come even if she felt she was crying her eyes out.

Then when darkness beyond what she ever thought could sweep her from her feet she felt an arm wrap around her middle and drag her against a warm chest. Shocked out of her downward spiral Kagome goes into the rather hard effort of untwining her self and turning over to see who was holding her without waking that person.

In the back of her head a small voice is whispering that it is Sesshoumaru, she is in his bed after all. But other senses are telling her to check before jumping to conclusions. She is having trouble imagining the ice prince snuggling up to her or any other person.

With some slow twisting Kagome finds her self released from the quite firm grip the arm had on her. Then after scooting over she was finally able to see her bedmate and her instincts had been dead on, lying there was definitely not Sesshoumaru but Miroku.

Before Kagome could get let this piece of information sink in Sango stormed in. "you Baka!" Miroku woke up with a start that made him leap into the air several meters. Behind her Kagome heard curtains rush open to show a cloudless night with a full moon and mysterious bright twinkling stars.

Miroku landed with catlike grace next to the bed and Kagome finally had the sense to pull up the blankets to cover her chest. She kept her mouth shut however and watched Sango walking over to the startled Miroku with firm quick steps that closed the distance in no time at all.

"You… You…" apparently words seemed to fail Sango and Kagome assumed this was just a good enough time to get out of bed and into the bathroom to get dressed. While Kagome went over to the bathroom a white sheet wrapped around her self she heard Sango getting her stamina back.

Wincing slightly Kagome closed the door behind her and was surprised to see fresh cloths laid out for her. Dropping the sheet Kagome went into the shower, her first shower out of the house. The thought saddened her and this time tiny tears slid down her cheeks together with the hot water.

Some thirty minutes later a freshly washed Kagome resided from the bathroom to see that only Sango was left in Sesshoumaru's bedroom taking up one of the snuggly looking chairs. Something she really wouldn't have suspected from Sesshoumaru, but then they could just be here for decoration for they fitted in very well.

"Well you look even better today." Sango said while gazing at a pink mobile phone. Suddenly she raised her head and looked into Kagome's silver eyes not letting her turn away from her penetrating stare. "Be careful around Sesshoumaru he is not all he shows."

Then for just a blink Sango looked away and back at Kagome again, this time she looked her old self. "Since you had a good feeding last night today you'll be spending with Miroku and Inu yasha in the library, they'll teach you about our history, later Sesshoumaru will come to collect you to practice some more on your fighting."

As soon as Kagome nodded that she had understood Sango rose from her seat and walked to the nearest window opened it with feline grace she hopped on to the sil and jumped out into the night shocking Kagome.

Running over to the open window where curtains were now slowly twirling. Reaching the window Kagome found her self looking at Sango who seemed to have landed on the ground from a three story high without a scratch.

The this time clad in maroon vampires seemed to sense Kagome at the window and looked up, seeing the shocked expression on the girl face she smiled showing her fangs which gleamed icy white in the moonlight. Then she turned around and next moment seemed to disappear into nothing although Kagome had the feeling she could see a vague maroon blur headed into the forest. Clearly vampires could take suite a punch and run at lightning speed. Her mood sunk again.

Leaving the window Kagome went to the door where she looked to both sides of a very deserted hallway and absolutely no idea where the library was, this was going to be hard. Walking into the hallway slowly Kagome hesitated trying to remember the way she had come by early in the morning, she couldn't remember.

Taking a few steps to the left then changing her mind she went right, walking the length until she reached a dead end. This was going to be a looooong night, she could practically feel it. Sighing Kagome turned back and walked back to left until she found a staircase going down.

Feeling slightly relieved Kagome practically ran down the stairs only to find her self in a gloomy looking hall she was pretty sure she hadn't crossed with Sesshoumaru. Taking a few steps down the hall she looked around awkwardly. This hall made her feel sad, it had a certain air around that made you want get out of it as fast as you could or rather not get into it in the first place but since it was to late for that Kagome was just going to bit down and get it over with as fast as she could.

She was almost halfway down the hall when she heard a Celtical tune, something that reminded her of a song from her youth but not a happy song. Stopping in her tracks to listen to it better Kagome found her self strangely drawn to the music.

It was the kind that after hearing it once would play in your head for some days to come and Kagome couldn't believe that she could have ever forgotten this strange, sad but beautiful song. Forgetting about the library completely Kagome started to head in the direction the music was coming from.

Stopping in font of a black heavy looking oak door with a delicate rose carving at the edges. Hesitating for just a second before placing her hand on the panes and turning the doorknob with her other hand.

The door squealed like it hadn't been used for ages and Kagome entered a grant dusty looking room. Gasping Kagome let go of the door this was not just any room; first it was a female room, second it hadn't been in use for years and in this special case it could be decennium. And last from the way it was decorated she could tell that this woman was loved.

Kagome didn't now how she knew that exactly but for some reason every object in the room seemed to say that the owner was loved, appreciated, cared for. In fact the whole room seemed to be mourning its loss of owner and at the same time it seemed to be waiting, waiting for something to return and stranger yet it was hopeful.

Before she could get to creped out Kagome took of closing the door behind her with a bang. Later she was unable to tell how she reached the entrance hall but she managed it somehow. And there it was that she was found by Inu yasha.

As what Kagome would later find out was his usual mood Inu yasha was grumpy. "Oy bitch were have you been, made me look for you all over the place."

Any other given time Kagome would have gone all offensive but not now, not after seeing that enchanted room. So instead she merely nodded and waited quietly for Inu yasha to show the way to the library.

This readily acceptance and docile way creped Inu yasha into silence and he stopped him self from continuing what would have otherwise been a nice way to get ride of some pent up anger. But now with Kagome acting the way she was all pleasure of baiting her left him.

Grapping her wrist rather gruffly instead Inu yasha proceeded in dragging her to the library, Kagome followed willingly not protesting at his harsh grip. In front Inu yasha rolled his golden eyes, this was going to be a loooong day. Why in all the gods names had Sesshoumaru assign him to teach this girl there history together with Miroku, honestly what had he ever done. Must be some karma from a previous live, there was no other way to explain it.

[s][w][i[[t][c][h] IN t The library Kagome found herself looking at Miroku who was bend over what was without doubt the biggest oldest book Kagome had ever seen, then if that wasn't enough the book spoke.

"Pardon vampire but would you please remove those talons from my back it irritates me" the book said with what was definitely a old well taught English accent. Kagome searched out the nearest chair and settled down never taking her eyes of Miroku and the book.

"Now, now aren't we grumpy this early in the night. What's the matter moth problems again and just after I told you to cut back on the outside relationships" Miroku stated while he kept his hands where they where and his violet eyes traveled down an old yellowed parchment page.

Kagome made a soft sound that sounded like chocking and holding in laughter at the same time, her eyes traveled in Inu yasha's direction and the white haired male rolled his golden eyes at her before turning away and stalking of to the nearest bookshelves.

For a moment Inu yasha just stood there listening to Miroku and Book talking back to each other like there was nothing wrong. With a small shudder Inu yasha thought that they sounded like an old married couple.

When he felt those silver eyes on his red clad back Inu yasha stopped listening and concentrated on what he had been looking for, he located the book on the top shelve, go figure. Shaking his head he shifted some of his powers and levitated himself into the air one of the little handy tricks that came with a vampire live.

In the back of his head he was still aware of the silver eyes that lingered on him now and then but he paid no attention to it, he had always been good at ignoring something he didn't want to see or feel. Maybe if he just paid attention back then he wouldn't have become what he was now.

Then Inu yasha snapped him self out of his darker memories and back into the here and now. Hovering a bit more to the left he picked out a thick red covered book, this one was old not as old as Book but still it had seen many years and would be seeing many more to come.

Kagome after watching Inu yasha with some degree of fascination turned her full attention on Miroku. "You fool breed what you're looking for is not on that page. Here let me show you, you fool hardy creatures you think with a couple of centuries you'll gain some intelligence but you seemed to be the not one bit brighter after all your years." The book huffed some more and pages started to move at rapid pace until they suddenly stopped.

"There you go, the legend of the last city, now are you happy." The book said acidly. Miroku seemed to be saying something just not loud enough to be heard then looked down at the page and his violet eyes brighten. He clearly had found what he had been looking for, Kagome was just curious about what lost city they had been talking about.

Getting up from her seat Kagome walked over to Miroku and the book and tried to look at the page but then suddenly the book closed almost snapping some of Miroku's fingers in two. The low pony tailed man looked around with surprise on his face but it was changed quickly when he saw Kagome.

"Well lady Kagome how are you doing on this fine morning." He pointed at one of the long pained windows at the back of the room from where you had a splendid view of the full moon sky.

"What lost city?" Kagome couldn't help her self. As young girl she had always loved fairy tale and lost city sounded like it would have a great story behind it, she wanted to hear it. When she noticed Miroku innocent book Kagome pointed at the book.

You two were talking about a lost city, what city are you talking about. Is it the one that was supposed to made of gold?" Kagome asked eager. Her eager mood was broken when she heard a loud snort coming from the ceiling Inu yasha had previously been floating.

Looking in his direction to send him a death glare Kagome found that Inu yasha was no longer floating but was now standing upside down on the ceiling red book in his hand. And he merely raised an eyebrow at her glare.

Deciding that ignoring Inu yasha would be better Kagome turned back to Miroku this time without book. Wondering where it went Kagome looked around but she could see it anywhere. "Where did the book go?" she asked her wonder clearly showing in her voice.

Miroku waved a hand to stop her. "Don't bother lady Kagome, the book can't be seen unless it wants to been seen, well except for Inu yasha and Sesshoumaru who can see it all the time." Miroku looked Longley like he would like to be able to do that two then he went on talking.

"We where talking about the lost city of Atlantis, I was looking up some facts for… a loud hiss interrupted him and Kagome and Miroku both looked at Inu yasha this time. The grumpy white haired man was snarling at Miroku showing a healthy set of pearly white fangs.

Kagome heard Miroku swallow loudly and looked back at him only to notice that the already unnatural pale vampire had turned even paler before he seemed to get a hold on him self and turn back too the table.

Settling down he pointed at a chair opposite him for Kagome, Kagome quietly obeyed the question and seated her self down on the slightly padded richly carved wooden chair. Carves work if she wasn't fooled and probably old really old. They definitely didn't make sturdy long lasting furniture like these, now-a-days. Everything was build to last but a few years, not Kagome's idea of a great fashion.

After a few awkward silent moments Miroku was the first one to spoke again. "Well lady Kagome I was given the honor to teach you of our rich history also I have taken the liberty to go to your school and they have already started the process to gave you into my capable ends for the rest of the year, you'll have to take the exams there do but I think Sesshoumaru will be able to pull some strings so they'll be held in the evening. Do you agree with this?" Miroku asked this so softly Kagome would have had trouble hearing it had she been human.

Waves of gratitude threatened to over take Kagome but she managed to keep functioning normally. "You mean that, that's great. Thank you, thank you so much." Kagome said tears clouding her voice even if they weren't apparent in her eyes.

Sniffing a couple of times Miroku flashed her a charmy smile and he pulled a pile of books he has laid ready earlier. "Now let's start with out history, it al goes back to…

[s][w][i][t][c][h] it was well into the night when Kagome's sensitive ears picked up on steady footsteps coming there direction and when Miroku started to close the books Kagome knew Sesshoumaru had come to pick her up for fighting class.

Letting out a silent groan Kagome looked in the direction of the door which opened with a grant swoop moments later. What walked in could have been one of gods greatest angels, except that he had fangs and rather long sharp nails he did the picture justice.

White/silver hair softly moved in the created wind of his walking, richly silk robes closed his form complimentary. But it were his eyes that told Kagome this was no angel, those beautiful golden eyes of his were cold, emotionless. It was enough to send cold chills up and down Kagome's spine, not a pleasant feeling

"It is time, if you hurry you'll be able to undress in the gym alone, I have already laid out your outfit." With out any word more Kagome was dismissed and Sesshoumaru walked to the table were Inu yasha was now also seated.

For a few seconds Kagome wanted to tell Sesshoumaru that she didn't take orders but then she thought about what he had said, change alone as in if you don't hurry you'll be changing before me.

Kagome had never run as fast in her live before, she rather be put in a room with big black wriggling 8 eyed 8 legged spiders then strip in front of Sesshoumaru. A small jolt in her lower belly shocked her Kagome felt confused and run all the harder.

She didn't even want to admit the thought that, that could have been a jolt of pleasure. That simply wouldn't do.
