Chapter 15

She turned around and plastered on a fake and weak smile. "Oh, h-hi Hojo-kun."

At hearing the human boy's name, Inuyasha immediately wrapped his arm protectively around Kagome's waist and glowered down at the kid. Kagome tried really hard not to yell at her hanyous antics, he is an Inu after all.

Hojo looked between Kagome and this strange man with her questioningly. "Uh... Wh-Who is your friend?"

Inuyasha's hold on her tightened and before she could respond, he beat her to it. "Fiancé." Inuyasha bit back a growl when he saw the shocked expression on the kids face before he looked down at Kagome's hand and back up at her face. His ears flattened underneath the cap when he realized Souta was right. 'Keh. Soon she'll have a ring and every puny human will know, she. is. mine.'

"Uhm... you're getting married?" At Kagome's tentative nod, he looked at the strange man and then back at Kagome. "H-How old is he?"

Kagome looked up at Inuyasha and gave him a look that said all there was needed to be said. Don't answer that question. She looked back at Hojo and smiled.

"He is um, seventeen. My mom gave us permission to marry when I turn sixteen and he'll be eighteen. Th-The legal ages for both males and females to get married here..." She chuckled nervously.

Hojo nodded slowly as he eyed the man in front of him. "C-Can I speak to you alone, Higurashi?"

Kagome felt Inuyasha's hold on her tighten so she shook her head before replying. "I uh, don't think that's such a good idea Hojo-kun."

Hojo sighed, looking like a beaten puppy in that moment. "P-Please? Only for a moment."

Kagome pulled Inuyasha's arm from around her carefully and looked up into his scowling face. "I'll be right where you can see me, okay?"

Inuyasha growled lightly before pulling her lips to his. He plagued her mouth with his tongue, possessively marking her as his in front of the other male. Kagome was too shocked to do anything. Inuyasha rarely shows too much PDA, and when he does, it is never to this extent. But his lips and tongue always make her weak, so soon she was holding onto the front of his shirt and reciprocating fully.

After a moment, Inuyasha pulled back and smirked down at the girl with the half lidded gaze. He turned to the stunned and blushing Hojo and cocked an eyebrow at him.

"Be quick with your little talk."

Kagome shook her head from her momentary daze and glared up at her mate. She huffed before grabbing Hojo's arm, ignoring Inuyasha's growl, and dragging the boy a good distance away. Still within eyesight of her overprotective and jealous mate.

She turned and looked at Hojo nervously. "H-Hojo-kun..."

Hojo looked down at his feet, rocking back and forth on his heels. "H-How long have you been with... him?"

Kagome sighed. "I met him on my fifteenth birthday... I fell in love with him shortly after. I'm sorry Hojo-kun, I tried to tell you..."

Hojo looked back up at her with watery eyes and a fake smile. "That's okay, K-Kagome. I understand and I just want you to be happy. D-Does... Does he treat you right?"

Kagome's fake smile became genuine as she nodded. "Hai. He can be a little overprotective and jealous sometimes, but that's just who he is and I love him, just as he loves me."

Hojo nodded his head as he looked away. "I uh... I better go." He looked back at Kagome and smiled once again. "See ya around, Higurashi."

Kagome nodded as she began to walk towards the scowling hanyou. "Bye, Hojo." She gave his arm a light squeeze as she passed him and walked back to Inuyasha.

Inuyasha growled lightly as Kagome was back in front of him. "He ain't gonna ask ya on any more dates now, right?"

Kagome giggled lightly as she shook her head in exasperation. "No, baka. I think that little stunt you pulled by kissing me, definitely let him know I'm not available."

Inuyasha nodded once and smirked at her triumphantly. "Keh. He better not forget it neither."

Kagome grabbed his hand to continue their walk towards the concession stand. "You dogs just have to mark your territory."

Inuyasha growled as he leaned down and whispered into her ear. "You're mine, Kagome."

Kagome's shiver had nothing to do with the cold. She turned and gave him a heated look. "And I'd have it no other way, dog boy."

Inuyasha smirked as they made it to the concession stand and looked at everything they had.

Inuyasha leaned in and asked quietly, "what's that?"

Kagome chuckled as she looked at him. "That's a hotdog."

The look on Inuyasha's face was absolutely priceless. He looked back between Kagome and the offending hotdog in complete horror. She had the thought that if he had his Tetsusaiga with him, he'd want to destroy the damn food counter.

Kagome laughed and shook her head. "It's not made of actual dog, Inuyasha. That's just what they call it."

Inuyasha's horror stricken face calmed just slightly. "Why the fuck would they call it that!?"

Kagome shrugged her shoulders. "I think it's because they first resembled a wiener dog." He looked confused so she just sighed. "It doesn't matter. Do you want to try it? I promise it's not made with dog."

After a moment of hesitation, he finally relented and said he would try her weird future food. So, they ordered a large buttery popcorn, three hotdogs, (two for Inuyasha and one for her), two flavors of Pocky (one strawberry and one chocolate), and a large drink for each of them.

Inuyasha carried all of the food and Kagome took the drinks while she led him to the correct theater. When they made it into the room with the large screen, Kagome saw the look of wonder on Inuyasha's face.

"That's like the box in your house."

Kagome giggled as she led him towards the center row of the theater and they sat down. She was glad that there are only a few other couples in the room, she never likes when it is super crowded and she knows he doesn't like crowds too much either.

"Mhm... That's where we will see the movie. I do wanna warn you though, it can be pretty loud."

Inuyasha looked down at her to his left and nodded as he pointed to the cap on his head. "This thing kinda makes it harder to hear anyway."

As the ads and commercials started, Inuyasha jumped in his seat and stared wide eyed at the large flat screen.

Kagome laughed as she took and ate a handful of popcorn. She took a drink of her soda before speaking. "Those are just previews before the actual movie starts."

He turned back to her and she couldn't help but melt a little bit more at the look of absolute innocence in his eyes.

"How do they do that?"

Kagome smiled. "You remember the pictures that we took that one time?" He nodded his head slowly. "It's kind of like that, but moving pictures. They have people pretend to do some stuff for the camera and then they put it on the screen for everyone to see. It's all pretend, none of it really happened." She shrugged her shoulders. "It's for entertainment, for fun."

Inuyasha nodded as he looked between her and the previews on the large TV. "As smelly and loud as your world is... some things are pretty damn cool, Kagome."

Kagome blushed but smiled wider. She reached passed the popcorn and laced her fingers with his. She rested her head on his shoulder and sighed.

'I'm actually on a real date... with Inuyasha...'

When the movie started, Kagome was having just as much fun, if not more, watching all of the facial expressions and reactions on her hanyous face, than she was watching the actual movie.

It was an average action movie. Guns, violence, explosions, death, destruction, protagonists, antagonists, and a slight romantic addition to pull at the viewers heartstrings.

By the time the movie was over, their food and drinks were gone and Inuyasha's excited puppy dog eyes were staring at her widely. She just knew that his ears were sticking straight up and twitching under the red baseball cap. She giggled at the thought that if he had a tail, it would be wagging like crazy to prove his excitement even further.

"How'd they do all that!? It was fuckin' awesome!"

Kagome laughed as she pulled him down for a kiss. When she pulled away, they were both smiling widely.

"You're speaking a lot like my little brother, plus the swear words." She chuckled again.

Inuyasha shrugged his shoulders as he stood and helped her up out of the theater seat. They threw away their trash and then left the building. Kagome held onto his hand as they were walking down the sidewalk and she noticed the sun was already dipping, but it wasn't quite dark yet.

"I know we had a few snacks, but do you want to get something to eat?"

Inuyasha's ears perked up under his cap as he looked down at her. "More of those wiener things?"

Kagome laughed. "How about a hamburger? We could go to Wacdnald's. That's where my friends and I always go to eat together."

"Did ya ever go with that Hobo kid?"

Kagome shook her head and chuckled. "No, Inuyasha. Come on, you'll really like it."

"Keh. Alright."

When they made it to the fast food restaurant, Kagome ordered for them since Inuyasha has no idea what anything is. Knowing her mate can eat just about anything, she ordered him three cheeseburgers, two large fries and a large soda. She ordered herself one cheeseburger, a large fry and a large soda.

They sat down at a booth across from each other, and she wanted to laugh at the look on his face once again. His eyes were sparkling and his nose was twitching at a million miles a minute. He was practically drooling at the smell of the food in front of him.

She encouraged him to try it and he immediately devoured one of the cheeseburgers. Kagome laughed at his eagerness, glad that he seems to enjoy it and she began to eat hers too.

They enjoyed the next thirty minutes just sending time together without talk of Naraku or doctors, or school. Just being themselves and living in the moment. Kagome knows this isn't some extravagant date, but it is still the best date she could have ever been on. She is with her hanyou and they are just being them, Kagome and Inuyasha. Nothing more and nothing less.

After they finished eating and left the restaurant, they were back to holding hands and walking down the sidewalk. The sun is now set with the moon shining high above them. She looked to her right and up at him and smiled. She raised her hand to his forearm and held onto his arm with both hands, resting her head against him. She sighed happily as they made their way back towards the Higurashi Shrine.

"Thank you, Inuyasha."

Inuyasha blushed but nodded his head. "Keh. It ain't nothin'. Ya wanted a date, and I want ya to be happy..."

Kagome looked up at him with shining eyes. "You really are the sweetest, you know that?"

His blush grew hot on his cheeks as she continued to praise him. "I uh... I love ya, Kagome. I... I was an idiot in the past and I wanna make it up to ya."

Kagome shook her head as she stopped walking to face him fully. "The only thing I need to be happy Inuyasha, is you. Sure, I had a good time and I love doing things that normal teenagers do but... let's face it, I am not a normal teenager. I travel back five hundred years to collect shards of the Shikon no Tama, and to spend time with friends and my hanyou mate. We go on adventures and deal with crap that no one my age would ever even dream about. But I wouldn't change any of it because than I wouldn't have met you, my sweet and insanely sexy mate. As long as I'm with you, Inuyasha... I don't need anything else."

Inuyasha lightly moved a strand of raven hair from her face to behind her ear and cupped her cheek. "Kagome... Th-Thank you... You are the reason I... I can even feel the way I feel." He shook his head and blushed. "I... I ain't good with words... I will show ya everyday of our lives how much I love you though, 'Gome."

Kagome smiled up at him happily as she reached up, held him by the nape of his neck, and pulled his face down to hers. She kissed him slowly and sensually. No trace of immediate sexual desire, just an act of true love to show him how much he means to her. She moved her lips against his in a delicate dance as he easily moved along with her.

When she pulled back from his mouth, she hugged him around the middle and sighed into his chest. "You gave me the best date ever, you know." She looked up at him, her chin still resting on his chest.

Inuyasha blushed but chuckled at the way she is leaned against him. "You're cute."

This time it was Kagome's turn to blush at the unexpected compliment. She pulled away and laced her fingers back with his, so they can continue with their walk back to the Shrine.

When they made it up the steps and walked inside, Kagome's mother was quick to greet them.

"Did you have fun on your date?"

Kagome took the cap off of Inuyasha's head, watching as his ears swiveled, and then placed it on the rack by the door. Inuyasha was quick to take the damn shoes off that he was forced to wear and Kagome slipped hers off also.

"Hai mama. We went to the movies and then had dinner at Wacdnald's."

They walked towards the living room and sat at the couch, her grandfather is lightly dozing on the comfy chair next to them.

"I'm glad you had a good time. Don't forget that even though you have a mission in the past, you are still a teenager. Whenever you are able to be here, take a few hours to have fun and relax."

Kagome nodded her head and smiled happily towards her mother. "Thanks mama."

Inuyasha pulled the wallet out of his pocket and took the change out. "H-Here."

Mrs. Higurashi shook her head and smiled warmly at him. "Keep it. You might want it for something else. You never know." She shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly.

Inuyasha hesitantly put the money back into his wallet before stuffing it into his pocket.

After another fifteen minutes or so of randome chatter, Kagome and Inuyasha headed upstairs. Kagome wanted to take a warm bath before getting dressed for bed.

They walked into her bedroom and closed the door before Kagome grabbed her light blue silky matching pajama top and bottoms. When she turned back around, Inuyasha was already undressed and pulling his normal fire rat clothes back on. She had to force herself not to jump him right then and there. She blushed when she saw his nose twitch and ears swivel in her direction, before he smirked at her.

"Damn nose..." She murmered to herself as she looked away from his irresistible golden eyes and began to walk past him.

Inuyasha caught her by the wrist, spun her around and caged her against the bedroom door. He had only put his Fundoshi and Hakama on before he smelled his mates delectable scent. His bare chest is pressed up against her, causing her scent to spike deliciously.
