Bullet to the Hear Ch. 4
The next couple of days the drill was stepped up to fit the tasks ahead. Everyday, from sunup to sundown the unit was training and preparing. Inuyasha and Sango were training with the troops as well. Inuyasha wanted to get Sango used to acting with his team. She was getting to know everyone better. But this would be her first op with the team and he wanted it to go smoothly.
One early afternoon, the Colonel called off training for the rest of the day. A thunderstorm was approaching and it looked to be extremely electrical. Everyone seemed to enjoy the time off, even though they were restricted to the base. Most went to the lounge and got a game of cards going while others just went to sleep whereever a spot was open.
Inuyasha retreated to his favorite place on the roof. He was lying down, stretched out, enjoying the different scents of the air. He loved it when thunderstorms came through. The rain and wind, its scent was so calming even more than Sango's lavender and mint. Inuyasha propped him self up on his arms and watched the clouds roll in. Soon he was lost in thought and didn't notice the Major come up behind him.
The Colonel was jerked out of his thoughts when Sango started to rub his ears again. Gently massaging them with her soft fingers. He again started the low growl from his chest, showing how much he enjoyed having his ears rubbed. Soon, Inuyasha was enjoying the droplets of rain that had started to fall. He stopped Sango from her ear rubbing and stood up. She was beginning to get soaked by the rain and Inuyasha realized his hair was becoming damp. He looked over her as her clothing started to stick to her body, showing off her feminine curves.
It happened right there in the rain on top of the stair housing. Inuyasha pulled Sango close to him and pressed his lips against hers. She offered no resistance as he guided his tongue over her bottom lip and into her mouth. He began to explore her wet cavern with his tongue. First feeling the soft flesh of her tongue then moving to the dull teeth. He let no part escape his inspection. Gods, he loved her taste, a spicy yet sweet flavor that eluded his mind to identify - it was pure Sango to him.
As he finished his invasion of her mouth Sango's female dominance started to return after her initial submission. Her soft muscle pushed back the Colonel's tongue and she started her own exploration. Sango went straight for the fangs, rubbing her tongue all over each one of them as if trying to commit them to memory. She didn't know why she was so attracted to his demonic attributes, but they were a turn on for her. She ended the kiss, much to Inuyasha's dislike she noticed. But, the rain had started to really fall and both of them were soaked.
The two made their way down to their quarters unnoticed by anyone. They dried and dressed into fresh clothes. Both were quiet during this process until the Major broke the silence.
"Inuyasha, I..." Sango stopped as Inuyasha put a finger to her mouth.
"What happened, has happened, Bitch. We cannot change that. I am not sorry for what occurred." Inuyasha flashed here a fanged smile as he gazed at her with his golden eyes.
"I am not sorry either, Inuyasha. But what of the military's regulations against fraternization between officers?" Sango gave him a worried look.
"Keh, those don't apply to units like us. The Commanding Officer and ExO in most demon units are mates." Inuyasha stated matter of factly. "Anyway, we will not discuss this openly in front of the team, alright?" Inuyasha said. He knew that his scent was on her and that most of the team would pick up on it. Hopefully, the rest of the males would not give him a hard time about taking so long to start courting a possible mate.

Once the storm ended, the unit was piled into a troop transport and was soon off to a nearby air force base. When they arrived the Colonel told them their gear was in the hanger and to put it on. Soon, everyone was strapped up and ready to go.
Sango briefed them on the training they were about to receive. She told them that their code name was team Epsilon. They were going to board a C-130 and fly over a landing target. Each would bail out the back with the parachute they had been given. Upon landing they would discard their chutes and start marking their way to a location marked on the map they would find in their pockets. The mission was to secure the blue flag before the enemy, a pre-positioned team code named team Delta, wiped out team Epsilon using laser simulated weaponry. The purpose of the training was to use stealth like approach to reach a target and overtake forces that have a superior number.
With that she dismissed them to go load up into the C-130. The Major went over to Inuyasha and both started dressing in the red jumpsuits they would be wearing as supervisors of the training exercise. They walked next to each other to board the C-130. As they were walking in she noticed many of the male demons avoiding her and a space was quickly cleared for her and Inuyasha to sit. She sat next to him without a word as the plane began its take off.
When the pilot gave the green light, Sango jumped first to supervise the landing and Inuyasha would jump last. The whole thing went as planned until the second to last person. It was a half tiger demon named Tailik. He had fur all over him in the tiger stripe pattern and from what the women had told him a dead sexy tail. The Cpt. also had tiger ears on top of his head.
"Colonel, I...I can't make the jump. I hate falling, sir." Tailik was visibly shaking all over.
"Captain, I have been nice to you even though you remind me of a cat. But you are a tiger you will land on your feet, I promise." Inuyasha nearly doubled over laughing, but saw he wasn't getting anywhere with Tailik.
"Look, Tailik. You better jump out or I swear to god I am gonna rip off that tail of yours and beat you senseless with it until you get the hell outta this plane. Is that understood?" Inuyasha yelled.
"Yes, sir." Tailik nearly had tears in his eyes as he bailed out of the plane, holding his tail to keep it safe from the Colonel.
Inuyasha waited for the Captain to fall a little and get some distance between them before he also bailed out of the plane. When he popped his chute he decided to angle to the middle of what would be the "battle field" and landed.

Team Epsilon landed and Flower quickly got out her map and began orienting it to their surroundings. As soon as she got that done she began to sniff out the area for any signs of Team Delta. When Flower saw Magic land she went over to him and reported on their position and that she couldn't detect any sign of Team Delta. Magic gave her the go ahead to go and scout out a safe route to the spot on the map. It looked to be near a small outcropping of buildings not to far away. The Kitsune Cpt. ordered everyone to load up, or turn on in this instance, their laser rifles. Magic soon had the plan of battle explained to the Unit and they were on their way.
The team was split into three sections one was right flanking the buildings, another was left flanking, the last was going strait through the collection of buildings. As the units were making their way Flower came and made frequent reports as to were she believed parts of Team Delta were located.
Team Epsilon got extremely close to the blue flag they could easily see it flapping in the breeze. Suddenly, Flower and left flanking squad were out of the exercise, taken down by rooftop snipers of Team Delta. Cpt. Tailik with his squad in the middle of the buildings yelled to find cover and return fire.
Magic knew it was all up to his squad right flanking the buildings. He took his squad and made a run for the flag. Tailik and his squad soon had the snipers cleared off the building and were starting to close as well on the flag. That's when both squads met the final force of Team Delta. Most of Team Epsilon were expert marksman and quickly had the odds in their favor.
It was grassy plains so there was no cover at all. Magic quickly managed and illusionary force heading to out maneuver Team Delta which they fell for and split their forces up. Tailik made use of his tiger like speed and had all of the half of Team Delta in front taken out with his pistol before the someone got off a lucky shot at him. Soon Magic was standing with the flag pole in his hands as the rest of the surviving Delta team were picked off one by one by Team Epsilon's marksman.

The Colonel had watched the engagement with much interest. He had been extremely hopeful that his team would have been stealthy enough to get to the flag without Delta Team noticing. Inuyasha was sad that Flower and the left flanking squad were taken out so fast that no one had survived. As soon as Magic had the flag Inuyasha had issued the exercise over command into the radio he carried. He soon met back up with Sango and they walked over to where Team Epsilon was gathering.
"Alright, that was decent but Flower, you're still dead. You need to better your stealth approach at tracking." Inuyasha advised. Flower was almost a daughter to him, or at least an apprentice.
"Yes sir, Colonel. I will work on that." Flower said, embarrassed that the wind had shifted before she had been able to detect the snipers.
"All right everyone, back on the transport" Sango said as the truck pulled up beside them. They were on their way instantly back to their home base.

When they arrived Inuyasha and Sango went into the Colonel's office to begin their assessment on the day's exercise. Sango brought up what a wonderful job they had done and that Inuyasha should reward them. So, Inuyasha went to the lounge and gave everyone leave for the rest of the night until noon the next day. He walked back to the office listening to the voices shout for joy. As he entered he saw Sango just finishing all of the day's paperwork. 'How the hell does she do that so fast?' Inuyasha wondered. He could never have gotten that finished so quickly. Not that he minded her doing that - it kept him from having to do anything but sign it.
"Major, would you like to accompany me into town?" Inuyasha asked.
"As on a date, Inuyasha? I do believe we are on leave now." Sango queried.
"uhh,....so that's a, yes?" Inuyasha replied not sure what she was saying.
"Of course, that's a yes, Inuyasha." Sango couldn't believe how dense he was being.
As they were on their way to the local bar in town, Sango decided that this was the time to ask Inuyasha why everyone was treating her so differently now. She saw him turn red and then just shrug and played like he didn't know what she was talking about. Sango knew he was lying, she didn't have to have a nose to smell a lie from Inuyasha. The man just couldn't tell a lie to save his life.
The Sgt. dropped off the two officers and went back to base. Inuyasha and Sango went inside to sit down and order something to eat. As they ate their dinners they started to notice a team member here and there. The ones that were easily thought of as human were at the bar drinking as much alcohol as they possibly could. When Sango and Inuyasha had finished they went to sit at the bar as well. Inuyasha had a glass of whiskey and was shocked when Sango asked for the same.
A slow song came on and Inuyasha was summoning up enough courage to ask Sango to dance, when this man came up to Sango and asked her to dance. Inuyasha was about to kill the man, then Sango politely refused and said that she was with him as she pointed to Inuyasha.
"You're with him? I can tell he's that trashy dog demon from the base. What would a beautiful girl like you be doin' with a god forsaken mutt like this?" The man snickered as he looked toward a pair of wide golden eyes with hints of red in them.
The man never had a chance as Sango grabbed ahold of the man and tossed him over a table. He landed flat on the floor with beer dripping all over him. His buddies that were out on the dance floor showed up and were about to take hold of Sango when Inuyasha was there in an instant, still riled from the man's words. He was able to take out three of them before he was sent flying over the bar. Inuyasha's men quickly reacted to seeing their beloved Commanding Officer tossed like a play toy.
A bar brawl was in full force as the local law enforcement showed up. Luckily all were able to get away, except for Inuyasha and the Major. The guys that had started the whole mess were all making trips to the hospital before they went into the lockup. Sango and Inuyasha had their fare share of cuts and bruises themselves but nothing to serious.
Inuyasha was perfectly calm as he was cuffed and put into the car. He only raised a fit whenever the Sheriff came by and nearly removed his hat. However, the Sheriff had been briefed by certain military officials and noticed Inuyasha's need for the hat and left it on him. Sango was extremely jumpy the whole time; she had never let anything like this happen to her before.
Before long both Inuyasha and Sango were sharing a cell in the county lock up. Sango had tried cheering Inuyasha up by saying that someone would come and get them out sooner or later. It only made Inuyasha feel worse. He happened to know there was only one person that would be able to sign his release papers and get him back to the base that he loved so much. The one and only person who had complete authority over Inuyasha, the Admiral.
