That morning Sango awoke to the wonderful aroma of fresh coffee brewing. She opened her eyes and quickly noticed that Inuyasha was not beside her. Slayer sat up and rubbed the sleep out of her eyes and scanned the room for her clothes. She found her pants and pulled them on, since Inuyasha had cut her thong to pieces, and soon had her bra and shirt on. As she made her way down the stairs she heard Inuyasha moving about the kitchen. 'What the hell is he doing?' Sango wondered.
Inuyasha caught the sweet scent of his Bitch and began putting her breakfast on a plate. He set it on the table next to the kitchen and poured a cup of coffee for her as well as another for himself. He could tell she hadn't expected any of this and was pleased that it made her happy.
"Good morning, Sango." Inuyasha shot at her with one of his wonderful smiles.
"What time is it?" Sango said wondering if they were going to be late getting back to the base.
"Not even a good morning back. Just straight to business" Inuyasha laughed. "It's around ten o'clock. A Sgt. will be here with a car at eleven."
Sango nodded and sat down to her breakfast as Inuyasha made him a plate and sat down as well. Both ate in silence until they caught each other staring at themselves and burst into laughter.
"Sango, I need to talk to you about something." Inuyasha said with a serious tone. "How much do you know about demon mating?"
Sango nearly choked on her coffee. She knew Inuyasha liked her but wasn't sure if he liked her that much. 'Of course he likes you, why the hell would he do the things that he did last night if he didn't like you' a voice rang inside her head. Sango told Inuyasha that she had studied demons in a Military class before she was allowed to transfer to a demon unit. Yes, she knew about the mating bite mark. That was the one thing that the Instructor had focused on especially for the women.
Inuyasha listened and was pleased to know she didn't know anything of the courting process or the scent marks. Typical humans - trying to figure demons out and know only about the bite mark Inuyasha silently laughed to himself. All these years and the military still knew almost nothing about demons. Inuyasha decided not to explain anything else to Sango about the mating process.
"Would you like some more coffee, Bitch?" Inuyasha asked changing the subject.

They both piled into the back of the car that had arrived and soon they were back to base. Inuyasha could see the looks of every single male staring at him. They could all smell Inuyasha's scent on Sango now and no doubt her scent on him. Inuyasha just gave them a look that would befit the Alpha male of a pack.
Sango watched as Inuyasha walked away to his office as she was making her way to the lounge. Flower came up to Sango and sat down beside her and took a long sniff. It bothered Sango slightly and she was about to ask what she did it for when Lt. Katari spoke up.
"Major, I'm sorry to ask. But, do you know what you're doing" Katari politely asked.
"I...What am I doing Lt.? I don't understand." Sango said blatantly.
"You do know you carry Inuyasha's scent mark." Katari said blushing,
"Every demon here can tell you bear Inuyasha's scent mark. We have noticed it for a while, but today it has intensified. Do you intend to become Inuyasha's mate?" Flower said, her mouth widening into a huge grin.
"I am carrying Inuyasha's WHAT!!!?" Sango yelled aloud. She didn't know what the hell a scent mark was, but she did know of one mark.
"I..I am sorry Major. I thought he would have told you." Katari was visibly frightened of her ExO.
"Flower, come into my quarters. We need to talk" Sango rose to her feet as she mumbled.

Once they were in Sango's quarters with the door locked Sango told Flower to spill everything. Flower explained the whole mating procedure in its entirety. She also explained that the unit saw her as the Alpha female and she had a scent claim on her by the Alpha male. Sango decided to reveal everything that had happened the night before with her friend swearing her to secrecy.
"That's so wonderful Sango. When are you and Inuyasha going to mate? You should do it as soon as possible, before the op. It will help you both, strengthening your bond to each other." Flower said, nearly bouncing with joy.
"I don't know. I want to but everyone around here would notice if me and Inuyasha...mated" Sango said the last word quietly, not familiar with the term yet.
Flower stood there mystified. She had never thought about who would notice anything. That was a problem that she couldn't help Sango with. It raised even more questions for her. Flower knew that Magic was thinking of courting her. She decided not to tell the Major this.
"Well, Major. I can't help you there." Lt. Katari said in a defeated manor. "But, if anyone can fix that it would be the Colonel."

Inuyasha was sitting at his desk reading the deed to the house the Admiral had gave him and he had just finished the letter he found with it. It was at this time Magic chose to come through the door. Inuyasha saw the look on the kitsune's face and saw that he needed to talk.
"What do you want Cpt.?" Inuyasha asked as he put down the paper he was holding. "Have a seat."
"Sir, respectfully, why haven't you taken the Major as your mate?" Magic asked waiting for the trashing to begin. He was shaken when none came. "Sir?"
Inuyasha sighed, he knew he was going to have to explain it to someone - might as well be a person he trusted. Inuyasha began telling Magic last night's events and even showed him the deed to the house. Magic was acting better than the Colonel had hoped.
"You fell asleep? Come on sir, I am not dumb." Magic only saw Inuyasha turn red. "Good lord, Colonel. Well are you gonna mate with her tonight?"
"No, I can't mate with her tonight" Inuyasha said gloomily.
"Why not?" Magic asked completely oblivious. He couldn't believe it; if he had gone as far with Katari as Inuyasha had Sango, he would mate with her as soon as possible.
"Magic, this stays between us. I don't want anyone knowing this. I am a half demon you know and I turn mortal one night a month. Tonight is that night. Before Sundown I will go into my quarters and stay there until morning. No one will be allowed in or out, except Sango. She will have to know about this sooner or later." Inuyasha said this feeling as if there was nothing about him private anymore.
"Very well, sir. I won't tell a soul." Magic said, he felt sorry for the Colonel.
No hanyou wanted to admit his time of weakness. That Inuyasha could do that made Magic respect him that much more. Which made the Kitsune feel like he could talk to the Colonel even more.
"Colonel, the reason I came here is...Well, I was wondering if you would give me your permission to begin courting Lt. Katari?" Magic turned completely red as he said this, as did Inuyasha.
"You don't need my permission Captain. But, you do have my best wishes. She is like a daughter to me. I appreciate you coming to me with this." Inuyasha said as he saw Magic relax.
"Magic, would you like a drink?" Inuyasha said getting into his drawer that he kept a bottle for special or extreme purposes in.
"I would sir" Magic said as he snatched the glass Inuyasha poured him and gulped it down.
The two men sat in the office for about an hour draining half the bottle and talking to each other.

Sango walked to her quarters. She was half way there when she ran into Inuyasha.
"Colonel, Why are you not running the training exercise, its almost dark?" Sango asked.
Inuyasha just took her hand and led them to their quarters. When they entered he locked the door and turned to face Sango, who was visibly confused by his actions. Inuyasha told her to relax, then he began telling her about half demons and how they turn mortal for one night a month.
"Tonight is my night Sango. This is my most guarded secret. It will happen as soon as the sun goes down, about....NOW!!" Inuyasha screamed as he began his transformation.
Sango saw his claws recede and his fangs disappear. The most noticeable difference was his long silver hair turned pitch black and how his ears dropped down and turned into human ears. When his transformation was complete she saw him open his eyes, which had turned brown.
Inuyasha opened his eyes. He felt a wave of emotions hit him as he looked at Sango. He went to sit at his desk and began doing some meaningless task on his computer. He never felt safe while he was human but he could still get stuff done.
"Magic has command of the unit tonight Major don't worry. I plan to stay here all night. You are welcome to come and go as you please but I ask you not to do it too much." Inuyasha said barely looking up.
"I don't need to go anywhere Inuyasha. I plan on staying here with you." Sango said with a lust filled voice.
"Sango I can't...." he was soon cut off as Sango went over to him and claimed his mouth.

I thought that you would find happiness in your command and was right but you never found someone to love, you never looked. I blame myself for that. Also, if I have to drag your ass out of jail, throw you into the back of a truck, and haul you home I will make you never want to step foot in a bar again. Let's just say you owe me one. With that piece of information in your mind I will end this.

Inuyasha moved to sit up and woke Sango up from one of her naps. He assured her he was fine, that it was almost morning and he would soon transform back into his half demon state.
