Naraku was gone. The ordeal was finally over, yet to Kagome it still felt incomplete. She was the only one not seeking vengeance against Naraku. Yes, he had tried to kill her numerous times, but he had never killed anyone she had cared for. The Shikon jewel was complete and had been banished from this Earth.

All of Naraku's minions had vanished at the end of the battle. Except for one, who was technically not a minion at all, just a miko seeking revenge.

They were camping outside for the last time. In the morning they would return to Kaede's village where the entire ordeal had began. They could settle down and lead normal lives once again. For some reason, this did not sound as pleasing as it once had. Soon all had fell into a comfortable sleep, all except Inu Yasha.

In a tree branch, he caught a familiar scent, that none other than Kikyo. Checking that they were all asleep he followed her scent deep into the forest.
