Ch. 1

"Inu Yasha." he heard her whisper. He rushed to her in a burst of speed. "Kikyo." "Naraku is dead, my soul will soon be appeased. Only one thing is keeping that from happening."

"What is it?"

"Kagome, she must die I need my soul to return to this body."

"What?" Inu Yasha said breathlessly, the younger miko he had come to care so much about was the only thing standing in the way of Kikyo and himself.

"You promised, You said you would protect me Inu Yasha, she is threatening to remove what remains of my soul. Will you not keep your promise?"

"Yes Kikyo, I will," as he said this he pulled her to him. Kikyo looked into his eyes flashed her a smile before leaning into his chest.

"I'm glad."

Sango who had woken up realized that she needed to bathe had set off to do so. Miroku had set off to follow her. They were both appalled at Inu Yasha's decision, choosing Kikyo over Kagome.

Kagome needed to be warned, needed to be protected, and needed to know of what had transpired.
