Chapter 10

Ayumi

Name: Hikari, Ayumi (Not an important character but I'm giving you her stats anyway.)

Age: 20

Job: Daycare Center

Personality: Nice, honest, friendly.

Looks: Short brown hair to shoulders. Short and skinny.

"I'm sorry but I'm not really looking for a relationship right now." Kagome said. She got up and headed for the door. Even though she knew she wasn't supposed to leave the room.

Inuyasha got up and grabbed her arm gently and spun her around so she was facing him. "Remember you owe me. Consider this as my favor." Inuyasha said. "Pick you up Friday at seven?"

Kagome wanted to say no but she did owe him. "Don't be late." She said. When Inuyasha released her arm she walked out of the room. How did she get herself into these things?

She walked out of the room and noticed the club was half empty. She spotted Miroku by the bar and walked up to him. "What's going on?" Kagome asked.

"Well after the guy woke up he said something about a mysterious employee hitting him and he hit whoever was next to him. A fight broke out after that and I had to kick half the people out. Most of them were drunk." Miroku said.

"Gomen." Kagome said.

"It's ok." Miroku said. He grinned. "Thanks to you girls and these outfits I made three times more than usual. I can close early tonight."

"I knew there was a reason you weren't mad." Kagome said. "How come you left me in the room then?"

"Gomen I was distracted." He said looking at Sango with a glazed look in his eyes.

Sango glared at him. "In other words he groped me and I knocked him out."

"Ah but it was worth it." Miroku smiled.

"Well at least we get to leave early tonight." Kagome said. "Where's Rin?"

"She left with Sesshomaru a couple of minutes ago. He asked her out and the hentai over there let her leave." Sango said.

"Oh. Well I hope she has fun." Kagome said. "But her and Sesshomaru I would never have guessed."

"I know they are opposites of each other." Sango said.

"They say opposites attract." Kagome said.

"Who says that?" Inuyasha asked. He walked up behind everyone.

"No one knows. They were just talking about how Sesshomaru and Rin are together." Miroku said.

Inuyasha blinked. "Are you serious? Sesshomaru and Rin. You've got to be kidding me. Sesshomaru is unemotional and Rin is...Rin."

"We're aware of who they are and what they're like Inuyasha." Kagome said. "Who cares as long as they like each other?"

"Let's get this stuff put away so we can go." Sango said. "At the rate we're going we'll be here until the time we usually leave."

"That's not true. Usually we leave at three it's only twelve." Miroku said.

"I was being sarcastic Miroku." Sango said.

"Oh." Miroku said.

Everything was put away and everyone was ready to leave. "Kagome do you want a ride?" Sango asked. She was about to leave with Miroku.

"No I'm fine. It's a nice night out." Kagome said. "Besides I don't trust Miroku's driving."

"I drive perfectly fine Kagome." Miroku said.

"No you don't. Last time you tried to touch me and you almost crashed." Sango said.

"Bye you guys. See you later." Kagome said and headed out of the club.

Inuyasha chased after her before she got too far. "I could give you a ride if your afraid of the lecher's driving." Inuyasha said.

"No thanks. I haven't walked home for a while and I kind of miss it. I like walking when there's a full moon." She looked up at the sky. The moon was bright and the sky was clear giving it a picture perfect look.

"I'll walk with you then." Inuyasha said.

"What about your car? You're just going to leave it there?"

"I'll come back for it." Inuyasha said. He just wanted to spend more time with her. They walked in silence for a while.

"Why do you want to go out with me?" Kagome whispered. "I'm just out of high school. I'm sure there are plenty of older women that are more attractive and interesting than me."

"You'd be surprised." Inuyasha said. "I've never really been interested in anyone until I met you. I like how you don't take shit from anyone. I can't really explain why."

"Oh." Kagome said. She didn't understand why Inuyasha liked her.

They walked the rest of the way in a comfortable silence. They would have Friday to talk more and get to know each other. Kagome stopped in front of her door when they got to her apartment. "Thank you for walking me." She said.

"Remember Friday at seven. Wear something nice." Inuyasha said.

"How nice?" Kagome asked.

"Formal nice. Bye." Inuyasha said and headed back for the club.

"Bye." Kagome said. She walked up to her apartment and sat on the couch. `Something formal nice' she thought. Now she'd have to figure out something to wear. Friday was in three days.

She decided to think about it later. She got up and went to take a shower. When she was done she walked into her room to go to sleep. It wasn't everyday she got to go to bed early.

Kagome woke up early in the afternoon. She got up and made some tea. She couldn't think of anything to do. The last week or so she was always moving. Now she had nothing to do.

Finally deciding to do something she got up and dressed to go to the daycare. She thought she should go see if any help was needed. She also wanted to thank Shippo for the flowers and card.

She walked to the daycare center. When she got there all the kids cheered. They had heard how she wasn't going to be there anymore and they were sad. They all hugged her and told her that they'd miss her.

"Hey Ayumi. I just came by to see if you need any help." Kagome said.

"These kids are a lot to handle. I don't know how you do it." Ayumi said.

"You'll get used to it. You did just move here and you're just now getting to know the kids." Kagome said.

"I still don't see how you do it." Ayumi said. "Excuse me for a minute I need put a movie in."

Kagome nodded. Ayumi was twenty years old. She was Kaede's granddaughter. So far she seemed like a good person the kids would like her and have fun. She just hoped she would survive. The kids seemed like a handful.

She spotted Shippo at a table drawing. She smiled and walked over to him. "Hey Shippo." Kagome said.

"Kagome!" Shippo got up and hugged her. "Are you feeling better?"

"Hai, I feel great. Thanks for the flowers and the card. I loved them." Kagome said.

"Your welcome." Shippo said. "How come you aren't coming back?"

"I have a different job." Kagome said. "I'll keep coming to help out every once in a while."

"It's not the same." Shippo said.

"Well you can come visit me at home." Kagome said.

"I don't think Inuyasha would like that." Shippo said.

"I'll talk to him then." Kagome smiled. "Come on lets got watch the movie Ayumi put in."

"Hai." Shippo said. He put his drawing things away and walked to the TV with Kagome.

The whole day had gone by pretty well. "The time I leave would be when all the chaos left." Kagome said to Ayumi. Most of the kids had gone. They were waiting for someone to pick up Shippo and another little girl.

"Did you usually have to stay late?" Ayumi asked.

"Most of the time. Oh and just a warning don't let them finger paint." Kagome said seriously. She remembered what happened last time.

"Bad experience I take it." Ayumi laughed. "I hope they get here soon. I need to finish unpacking."

"Go ahead. I can stay and lock up afterwards." Kagome said.

"Arigato. I'm almost done packing. I want to get it all finished today so I can stay here later." Ayumi said. She gathered her things and left.

The little girl was the next to leave. Soon afterwards Inuyasha showed up. "Oi, runt lets go." He shouted.

"Hai." Shippo said. He grabbed his coat.

Kagome grabbed her stuff and headed towards the door to lock up. "What are you doing here?" Inuyasha asked. "I thought you didn't work here anymore."

"I don't. I thought I'd help Ayumi out." Kagome said. "What do you care?"

"I was just making sure you don't overwork yourself like you did last time. It's a pain to take care of you." Inuyasha said.

"No one said you had to do that stuff." Kagome raised her voice.

"You get mad too easily." Inuyasha smirked.

"Well then looks like I'll be free Friday then." Kagome said. After Shippo left he jumped in Inuyasha's car. Kagome walked out after him and Inuyasha followed. She locked up and tried to leave.

"Your not free Friday. I told you that is payment as doing you a favor. You already agreed to it anyway." Inuyasha said.

"Well why would you want to go out with someone that gets mad easily?" Kagome shot at him.

"I told you why. You already agreed. I'll be at your place to pick you up at seven." Inuyasha said.

"Baka." Kagome said.

"Bitch." Inuyasha smirked. He got into his car and drove away.

"I can't believe him." Kagome mumbled as she headed home.
