Chapter 13

Surprise

After thinking about it Kagome realized that she recognized that voice. "Shippo?" She said.

"Kagome?" Shippo said getting up.

"Hai." Kagome said.

"What are you doing here?" He asked as he hugged her.

Kagome didn't really know how to answer that. "She's here for a sleep over." Inuyasha said coming from his room.

"Gomen Inuyasha I didn't mean to wake you up." Kagome said.

"It's not your fault. The runt had the TV on loud enough to wake up the whole neighborhood." Inuyasha said.

"Is she really here for a sleep over?" Shippo asked. Everyone made their way to the couch to sit down.

"I was being sarcastic. Something happened and she couldn't go home." Inuyasha said. Shippo didn't need to know what happened.

"Oh. Do you want to watch TV with me?" Shippo asked Kagome.

"Oi, runt what the hell are you doing up this late at night?" Inuyasha asked.

Shippo moved behind Kagome and laughed nervously. "I had a bad dream and couldn't sleep."

"I'll let you stay up just this once." Inuyasha said. He knew about Shippo's bad dreams. He just didn't know how to comfort him. He wasn't used to those kinds of things.

"Arigato." Shippo said. He flipped through channels to find something to watch.

After a couple of hours of watching TV, Shippo and Kagome fell asleep. Inuyasha picked Shippo up and carried him to his room. Then he picked Kagome up and took her to the room she was sleeping in.

He laid her down on the bed and pulled the blanket up around her. He brushed some hair out of her face with his hand and went back to his room. He barely even knew the girl but he couldn't help liking her...a lot.

Kagome woke up to the sound of the TV again. She yawned and got up. Walking out of her room she almost tripped. "Oh gomen Shippo." Kagome said.

"It's ok." Shippo said rubbing his head. He went to wake her up for breakfast. He didn't expect her to come out of the room when he was about to knock. "Breakfast is ready."

"Breakfast?" Kagome said. She helped Shippo up and they went into the kitchen. "So what are we eating?"

"Ramen." Inuyasha said.

"Is that all you ever eat?" Kagome asked. They had it last time she was here.

"What does it matter? Its' good." Inuyasha said.

"I didn't say it wasn't good." Kagome said.

"Get used to it. That's all he ever makes." Shippo said.

"You can't be serious." Kagome asked.

"I like it so I eat it." Inuyasha said. "If you want something else then go ahead and make it."

"Fine I will." Kagome said. She got up and started looking for things.

When Kagome was done cooking she had pancakes, eggs, toast, and orange juice on the counter. "Shippo do you want some?" She asked.

"Hai." Shippo said. He jumped up and grabbed a plate.

"Inuyasha you can have some too. I made enough for all of us." Kagome said.

"Keh." Inuyasha said. He got up and helped himself. "I'm only eating this because I'm still hungry."

"Sure." Kagome said. They all sat down and ate.

"This is good Kagome." Shippo said while shoving more food into his mouth.

"Oi don't talk with your mouth full." Inuyasha said. He also shoved more food into his mouth.

"Way to set a good example." Kagome muttered.

"What was that?" Inuyasha said.

"Oh nothing." Kagome said. Inuyasha glared at her before finishing his food. After they were all done Kagome started doing the dishes.

"You don't have to do that." Inuyasha said.

"I made the food and you let me stay here again. It's the least I can do." Kagome said.

"Fine but don't go saying later that I made you do it." Inuyasha said.

"I won't." Kagome was trying to think of what to wear on her way home. All she had was the bunny outfit. She did not want to wear that outside. She didn't even want to wear it at work.

"When should I take you home?" Inuyasha asked.

"I can walk." Kagome said. "I just need to figure out something to wear."

"Why? I think that bunny outfit looks great on you." Inuyasha said.

"I'm not wearing that thing out in the day time." Kagome said glaring at him.

"Just wear the clothes you have on now and I'll drive you." Inuyasha said.

"But you've already done so much." Kagome said.

"What's your point? I'm not nice very often so you might want to take advantage of my offer."

"Fine." Kagome said. "I'm ready whenever you are."

"Let's go then." Inuyasha said. "Shippo come on we're going to drop Kagome off."

"Does she have to go?" Shippo asked.

"She has to go home sometime." Inuyasha said. Although he wished she didn't.

"Are you going to come over again sometime?" Shippo asked. They all walked out to the car.

"I don't know you'd have to see if Inuyasha wants me back over." Kagome said. They all got into the car.

"Can she come over Inuyasha?" Shippo pleaded. He tried putting on his cutest face.

"I don't know." Inuyasha said. "She'll have to wear her own clothes next time."

"I kind of figured that. My clothes are still at the club. I didn't think of grabbing them when we left. I was kind of preoccupied." Kagome huffed.

"Yeah whatever." Inuyasha said. "I was only joking."

"You're not very good at telling jokes." Kagome said. They stopped in front of her house. "Bye Shippo. Bye Inuyasha thanks."

"Bye Kagome." Shippo said. Then he hopped in the front seat. Inuyasha waited until Kagome went inside the building before he started he drove off.

Kagome walked inside her house and checked her messages. "Message One: Kagome what the hell happened yesterday? Call me as soon as can. End Message."

`Sango worries too much about me.' Kagome thought. She deleted the message and went into her room to change. Then she went out into the living room to call Sango. "Hello?" Sango answered.

"Hey Sango." Kagome said.

"Kagome where were you last night? What happened? Are you ok?"

"Calm down. I'm fine. I'll tell you about it later tonight. I don't want to talk about it right now. I just wanted to call you and let you know I was all right."

"Is she ok? What happened?" Kagome could hear Rin in the background.

"She's fine. She'll tell us about it later tonight." Sango said. "Well I have to go. I just remembered that I have to meet Miroku."

"Ok. Ja ne."

"Ja ne." Sango said. Kagome hung up the phone and watched some TV.

Kagome had just gotten out of the hospital and was now heading home. She had almost forgot she had an appointment. The doctors said she was much better. They just told her to come back if she wasn't feeling good.

She was walking home when she decided to get something to eat. She walked into a restaurant and ordered food to go. When she got home she set it on the counter and took her jacket off.

After she ate she took a shower. She only had an hour before she had to be at the club. `I wonder what outfit Miroku will have us wear this time.' Kagome thought. She couldn't help that she thought the outfits were cute. She just didn't want to wear them. They showed too much skin.

It was six thirty so she started to head for the club. She remembered to bring extra clothes to change in after work. She didn't want to be stuck wearing an outfit picked by Miroku outside of the club.

"Kagome." Sango yelled once she saw her.

Kagome waved and sped up. "Hey Sango, Rin. Where's Miroku?" Kagome asked.

"He's talking with Sesshomaru and Inuyasha." Rin said.

"Don't those guys have anything better to do than hang out at the club all night?" Kagome asked.

"Guess not." Sango said. "So what happened last night?"

They all walked into the club to get things ready. "Well you remember I told you Kouga wanted to talk to me right?" Sango nodded. "We went into the VIP room because he said it was important."

"I remember that." Sango said.

"When we got in there he backed me up against the wall and told me he liked me and started kissing me." Kagome said.

"Are you ok now?" Rin asked.

Kagome nodded. "Then Inuyasha came in and grabbed me and hit him and then Miroku came in and told Kouga to leave. But before Kouga left he said he'd make me his."

"Good thing Inuyasha came by." Sango said.

"Yeah I know." Rin said. "Kouga used to be so nice to."

"That's what I always thought. I don't know what happened to him." Kagome said in a low voice.

Everyone was quiet for a moment. "Here are your uniform girls." Miroku said popping up in front of everyone.

"Don't do that." Sango said as she held a hand up to her chest. "You're going to give me a heart attack."

"Gomen." Miroku said. He handed the girls their uniforms and shoved them into the back room.

"You like to surprise them don't you?" Inuyasha asked.

"Well I didn't want them to know we were listening to their conversation." Miroku said.

"We weren't listening. We were passing by and accidentally heard some things." Inuyasha said.

"You were listening." Sesshomaru said. "So I hear you take a great liking to Kagome."

"Keh." Inuyasha said. "What about you and the happy girl?"

"Her name is Rin." Sesshomaru said.

"Whatever." Inuyasha said.

"If you're here where is Shippo?" Sesshomaru asked.

"I got him a babysitter." Inuyasha said.

"Don't tell me you talked the old man into watching Shippo." Miroku said.

"Fine I won't tell you." Inuyasha said.

"I thought he said he wasn't doing you anymore favors." Miroku said.

"Myoga's a pushover." Inuyasha said.

The girls came out of the back room. They came out with French maid outfits on. "Do you have some kind of thing with skimpy outfits?" Sango asked.

"One of the regulars at the club suggested it." Miroku said.

"Oh are you taking requests now?" Inuyasha asked.

"I might. Have any ideas?" Miroku smiled.

"Let's go in the back and talk." Inuyasha smirked.

"Go ahead and kill him if you want." Sesshomaru said.
