Chapter 19

Surprise Breakfast

Rin woke up early the next morning. She was in a good mood and decided to make breakfast. After she cooked she went to Sango's room to wake her up. "Sango, I made breakfast..." Rin said before she quickly shut the door.

Sango and Miroku were sleeping in the bed. She didn't think Miroku had spent the night. She just shook her head and went into the kitchen. She made some more food. Miroku would probably be hungry when he woke up.

Miroku woke up hearing the door slam. He was lying on his back. He looked to his side. Sango was leaning her head on his chest and her arm was flung over his waist. He nudged her awake. "Sango wake up." Miroku whispered.

Sango opened her eyes and blushed. She sat up and covered herself with the blanket. "Morning." She said.

"Morning." Miroku said. He leaned over and kissed her.

"We should get changed and eat before we go." Sango said.

"Go where?" Miroku asked.

"Shopping." Sango smiled.

"I can't believe your remembered that." Miroku said. "Can't we stay here and do stuff?"

"Nope." Sango said. "You told me you'd take me so we're going."

"Fine." Miroku said.

"I'm going to take a shower. You wait here and no you can't join me." Sango said seeing the look in his eye. His face fell and Sango laughed. She kissed him on the cheek and went into the bathroom.

Sango had finished with her shower and waited for Miroku to get done. When he got out he changed back into his other clothes. Sango was wearing blue jeans and a black shirt. They walked out of the room and into the kitchen.

"Hey Sango, Miroku." Rin smiled. "How'd last night go?"

"Rin!" Sango yelled.

"Just teasing." Rin said.

"Well I had fun." Miroku smiled.

"Miroku!" Sango yelled.

"Well, I made breakfast for you guys." Rin said.

"Really? I guess you had a great night." Sango said.

"Yep." Rin said. They all sat down and ate breakfast.

Kagome was eating breakfast with Inuyasha and Shippo. They surprised her early in the morning and they went out to eat. Inuyasha had told him it was Shippo's idea. He'd woken Inuyasha up early and suggested the idea of breakfast to him.

"I drew another picture at daycare." Shippo said.

"Did you?" Kagome asked.

"Hai, I draw while the other kids play." Shippo said.

"Don't you play with the other kids?" Kagome asked.

"No." Shippo said.

"Is there a reason?"

"No, I'd just rather be by myself." Shippo said.

Kagome understood. Shippo was more mature than the kids his age. The kids he would get along wouldn't talk to him because he was younger. She just wished there was something she could do.

Inuyasha sat quietly eating. He was observing Kagome and how she got along so well with Shippo. He'd never taken to someone so quickly. Although Kagome seemed like the type of person you could get along with.

Inuyasha hadn't given her that chance. He'd ignored her right away because he wasn't interested in talking to women. He thought love was a bunch of crap. Here he was falling in love with the girl he'd argued with.

"So Shippo do you like drawing?" Kagome asked.

"Hai." Shippo said.

"Do you have any art supplies at home?"

"Not really." Shippo said. "I have some crayons."

"How about after we're done eating we go to an art store?" Kagome asked. "If Inuyasha doesn't mind."

"Really?" Shippo said. He turned to Inuyasha. "Can we go?"

"Yeah, yeah whatever." Inuyasha said.

"Arigato." Shippo said.

They all finished their meal and walked to the art store. It wasn't too far away from the restaurant. They walked in the store and Shippo took one look at the store and started running around in it. "I want this and this and..." He said.

"He's going to make such a mess." Inuyasha said. He saw Shippo head towards the paints.

"I'm sure he won't." Kagome laughed. "If he does, I want to say good luck in advance."

"Keh." Inuyasha said. "Like how you had to clean up the paints that one time?"

"I didn't think they'd make that much of a mess." Kagome said. "One of the older kids who was supposed to be watching a movie started throwing it around and the other kids started to do it to."

Inuyasha laughed. He remembered how she was covered in paint from head to toe. Even with all that mess on her she still looked beautiful. "You don't have to worry about it anymore." Inuyasha said.

"Guess not." Kagome said.

Shippo came back with his arms full of art supplies. "This store is cool. It has everything." He said excitedly.

"Let's go to the front counter. I'll buy you the art supplies." Kagome said.

"Really?" Shippo said. He dropped the stuff and hugged Kagome. "Arigato." He looked at the stuff on the floor. "Oops."

Kagome laughed and helped him pick the supplies up. Inuyasha laughed and went with them. "You didn't have to do that you know." Inuyasha said.

"I know but I wanted to." Kagome said. "He really likes to draw."

"I just hope he doesn't make a mess with all that paint." Inuyasha said, groaning.

"I can show him a way to paint, and not make a mess." Kagome said.

"Really?" Shippo said popping up out of nowhere. Kagome screamed and put a hand to her heart. "Can you come over now and show me so I can get started?" he asked her eagerly.

"I think you scared her." Inuyasha said, looking at Kagome.

"Can she come over and show me?" Shippo asked.

"That's up to her." Inuyasha said.

"I guess I could." Kagome said, after her breathing returned to normal.

"Yay." Shippo said.

They paid for the supplies and left. They walked back to Inuyasha's car. He started the car and drove to his place. He parked outside and went inside.

"What do I need?" Shippo asked.

Kagome showed Shippo how to set up his supplies. She told him how to keep things clean and how to clean things up if it got messy. She even painted with him for a little while. She hadn't even realized how long she'd been there.

"I have to get going. I need to go home and get ready for work." Kagome said.

"Will you come over again some other time?" Shippo asked.

"Hai, just tell Inuyasha and he can call me." Kagome said.

"If you wait for Myoga to get here, I can take you. I'm going to the club again." Inuyasha said.

"You sure do go to the club a lot." Kagome said. "Any reason why?"

"Keh." Inuyasha said. He turned around and went to clean some of the brushes. When he got done the doorbell rang. He went over and answered it. "Hey, Myoga-jiji." Inuyasha said.

Kagome went over and hit him. "Don't call him that." She said.

"Why thank you Kagome." Myoga said. "Good to know that someone's keeping him in check."

"Your welcome." Kagome smiled. She went back to helping Shippo.

"You've got a good girlfriend." Myoga said.

"You're just saying that because she hit me." Inuyasha said.

"That, and because she really is a good choice." Myoga said.

"I know." Inuyasha said.

"She'd have to be if you're going out with her." Myoga said. "I remember the day you swore to never date."

"Things have changed." Inuyasha watched Kagome talk to Shippo.

"Well, I hope you two have fun." Myoga said. He walked over to Shippo. "Hey Shippo."

"Hey Myoga." Shippo said. "Do you want to see what I drew?"

"Sure." Myoga said.

Kagome grabbed her coat and purse. "Ready?" Inuyasha asked.

"Hai." Kagome said.

"Bye Shippo." Kagome waved.

"Bye Kagome." Shippo waved back.

Inuyasha and Kagome walked to the elevator. When it got down to the first floor they walked to the car and got in. Inuyasha drove to Kagome's apartment. "I just have to put my things away." Kagome said. "You can come up if you want but I'll only be a minute."

"I'll go with you." Inuyasha said. They both got out of the car and walked to the elevator then her apartment. Kagome unlocked the door and stepped in.

"You can sit on the couch while I put my things away." Kagome said.

Inuyasha sat down on the couch and watched Kagome go into her room. She had bought some art supplies too. He didn't know she painted. She walked out of the room. "I'm ready. Do you want something to eat before we go?" Kagome asked.

Inuyasha got up and pushed her against the door. He leaned down and kissed her. He put his hands on her waist and licked her bottom lip. She opened her mouth and kissed him back. He pulled back and smirked. "Mm, that tastes good." Inuyasha whispered.
