Chapter 43

Pregnant?

"My feet hurt." Rin complained.

"You're the one that wanted to go to the mall but you're the first to complain." Sango said.

"I didn't think we'd walk that much!" Rin defended herself.

"How about we sit down and get something to drink before we leave?" Kagome asked.

"Sounds great." Rin groaned.

The girls walked to the food court and got a couple of smoothies before sitting down and placing their bags beside them. They'd been out for a good five hours. They hadn't realized how much time they spent at the mall until they sat down to eat. Sango figured Miroku had to have noticed his car was gone by now.

"I won't have to go shopping for a long time now." Sango said looking at her many bags beside her.

"Neither will I." Kagome said. She had just as many bags as Sango and so did Rin.

"I don't think I ever want to go shopping again." Rin said.

"Sure you won't. By next week you'll be at the mall again." Sango rolled her eyes.

"Your right." Rin said.

"At least we had fun. We got away from the guys and spent time together." Kagome smiled.

"Hai, I miss having fun without the guys." Sango said. "They're such a pain."

"Sesshomaru isn't a pain." Rin said.

"He's a gentleman." Sango said. "You got the good guy out of the group. I got a hentai and Kagome got a jerk."

"I know I'm lucky aren't I?" Rin sighed.

"I don't know about you Sango but I like my jerk." Kagome giggled.

"Of course you would." Sango said sarcastically. "What woman wouldn't want to be yelled at every day?"

"He doesn't yell at me every day. He stopped being a big jerk a while ago." Kagome said. "Although he does have his moments."

"Exactly. That'll never change." Sango said. "Just like Miroku will never stop being a hentai."

"The world will end by the time he stops thinking dirty thoughts." Rin laughed. "I feel sorry for you Sango."

"I feel sorry for myself." Sango sighed.

"I'm fine with Inuyasha. He has his moments but he can be really sweet sometimes." Kagome said.

"Have you thought about whether your going to keep working at the club or not?" Sango asked.

"I don't know. I like working at the club but Inuyasha gets so jealous." Kagome said.

"He's violent when he's jealous." Sango took a sip of her smoothie.

"He can't get it through his thick head that I'm not going to leave him." Kagome told them.

"I think I'm pregnant." Rin said out of the blue.

"What?" Kagome and Sango shouted.

"I'm not sure yet. I haven't tested or anything but I might be." Rin explained.

"Have you told Sesshomaru?" Kagome asked.

"No, I just recently suspected I might be. I don't want to tell him until I'm sure." Rin said.

"Maybe you should get tested." Sango said. "Go to a doctor. Those home pregnancy tests aren't always accurate."

"I will. I have an appointment tomorrow." Rin said.

"Do you want the baby?" Kagome asked.

"If I was going to have one I'd be happy." Rin smiled. "I just don't know about Sesshomaru. I don't know how he is with kids."

"Sesshomaru with a kid." Sango said and laughed. "Gomen I just can't picture him with children."

"Sesshomaru is really sweet. Just not in front of people. He thinks public displays of affection are inappropriate." Rin explained. "He's a business man he needs to stay serious."

"Whatever you say." Sango's laughter died down a little. "So how's Shippo?"

"He's fine. I think he and Inuyasha are getting along." Kagome smiled. "They were playing video games when I left."

"Really? I never thought Inuyasha would be good with kids." Sango said.

"Especially with his temper." Rin added.

"He's good with Shippo. He just likes to tease him a lot." Kagome said.

"I think we should get going. Miroku may actually get mad since I took his car." Sango giggled.

Inuyasha walked out of Shippo's room. They'd been playing video games for the last five hours and his head was starting to hurt. All the flashing colors and the yelling was getting to him. He walked into the living room heading towards his bedroom until the phone rang. He groaned as he went to answer it. "Hello." He said.

"Hey Inuyasha."

"What do you want Miroku?"

"I was wondering if you'd seen Sango lately?"

"She went to the mall with Kagome and Rin, why?"

"My car seems to be missing."

"That's right. Kagome said Sango was stealing your car for a while. I thought she was joking. Wait...they've been gone for five hours and you just realized your car is missing?"

"Well I hadn't realized until I was going to go get something to eat." Miroku said.

"Your dense you know that?"

"I was thinking of how to make up with Sango. She's mad at me."

"What did you do?"

"I merely suggested that we go to the rooftop and have some fun." Miroku said.

"You wanted to do that on the rooftop?" Inuyasha asked.

"Hai."

"You dumb ass you don't suggest something like that, especially to a girl who's so short tempered with you."

"I realize that now. Any ideas on how to make it up to her?"

"You could take her out to dinner if she'll give you a chance."

"Even I could've thought of that."

"Why don't you do something she really likes even if you don't want to do it."

"That might work. I'll try that. Thanks." Miroku said. "Bye."

"Bye." Inuyasha said and hung up the phone. He went to his room to take a nap hoping the headache would be gone by the time he woke up.

Kagome opened the door and set her bags down. Shippo was in the living room watching TV. "Hey Shippo did you have fun at daycare?" Kagome asked.

"I didn't go." Shippo said. "Inuyasha and I spent the day playing video games."

"You did?" Kagome asked. "You need to start going. You've missed enough and you'll be starting school soon."

"I know." Shippo said sadly.

"School isn't that bad." Kagome said.

"It is." Shippo said.

"I'm sure you'll have fun this year." Kagome smiled. "I'm going to take a nap before work. Did you eat?"

"I had a sandwich left over from this morning. I couldn't finish it so I ate it a half an hour ago." Shippo informed her.

"Do you want me to make you something?"

"No, I'm full." Shippo said. "I'm just going to watch TV."

"Okay." Kagome said. She hung up her coat and walked into the bedroom. She assumed Inuyasha was there because he wasn't in the living room or kitchen. She found him lying on the bed and set the alarm clock.

She smiled before climbing into bed with him. Inuyasha sensed the movement and woke up. "Kagome?" He mumbled.

"What?" Kagome said.

"Your back." He said and lazily threw his arm around her.

"Hai." Kagome said. "I thought I'd take a nap before work. I set the alarm."

Inuyasha mumbled something she couldn't understand before falling asleep again. Kagome giggled and snuggled into his warmth. It wasn't long until she fell asleep too.

"I can't believe you broke the alarm clock!" Kagome shouted.

"I had a headache and didn't expect to hear the damn thing go off!" Inuyasha yelled back.

"I told you when you woke up that I set the alarm clock!"

"I was half asleep. The only thing I remember is you coming into the room."

Kagome crossed her arms still mad at her lover for breaking the alarm clock. They were about an hour late. Kagome got ready as quickly as she could and then dropped off Shippo. They wouldn't have been as late if they didn't have to drop him off. "I still can't believe you broke the alarm clock." Kagome groaned.

"Will you stop thinking about it? It's too late to do anything." Inuyasha said. "I didn't mean to do it. It's not like Miroku's going to fire you for this."

They were silent until they reached the club. Kagome quickly got out of the car and pushed past people to get inside. She didn't even wait for Inuyasha. He mumbled curses under his breath knowing she'd be mad at him for a while.

"Kagome you're late." Sango said.

"I know Sango. Gomen, I went to take a nap and Inuyasha broke the alarm clock before I heard it go off." Kagome said.

"It's okay. We're not that busy tonight." She said.

"Your uniform is in the back." Rin said.

"Arigato." Kagome smiled and walked in the back.

"Where's Kagome?" Inuyasha asked.

"She's in the back." Sango said.

Inuyasha headed towards the back and ignored Sango and Rin's yelling. "Wait! She's changing!" They yelled.

He quickly opened the door and closed it so no one could see Kagome inside. "Inuyasha what are you doing here?" Kagome shouted as she covered herself.

"You're mad at me." He said.

"Of course I'm mad. You make me late for work and then you walk in on me naked!" Kagome said.

"I've seen more of you at home!"

Kagome blushed but still managed to be angry. "Can we talk about this later? I'm trying to get dressed."

"We'll talk about it now. You can get dressed while I'm in here."

Kagome sighed and knew he wasn't going to leave until he said what he needed to say. She turned around and slipped on her outfit. She had a red blouse that tied beneath her breasts and a black mini skirt. She had her hair up in a messy bun with strands hanging in front of her face. On her feet she had on stiletto heels.

Inuyasha gawked at her with his mouth slightly open completely forgetting what he was going to say and that they were arguing a few minutes earlier. Kagome turned around and rolled her eyes at him. "Can I get back to work now?" Kagome asked.

He nodded dumbly and moved out of her way so she could get past him. He quickly moved to open the door for her. Kagome smirked, liking this newfound power to control her boyfriend with a provocative outfit and went to work.

It took Inuyasha a couple of minutes to realize what had just happened and mentally slapped himself for being so stupid. `I'm a guy and beauty is our weakness.' Inuyasha sighed and went to go see Miroku and Sesshomaru if he was there.

Still mentally slapping himself he walked into the VIP room and found both Miroku and Sesshomaru sitting on the couch. "You look as if you've done something stupid." Sesshomaru said.

Inuyasha hated how Sesshomaru could read him sometimes. He just glared at him and sat down. "What did you do?" Miroku asked.

"I walked in on Kagome changing and we argued and when I saw her outfit all I could do was stare. Then she asked if she could get back to work and I moved out of the way and opened the door for her. It wasn't until after she left I realized what I'd done." Inuyasha told them.

"Ah women have their ways of hypnotizing men into doing things for them, no matter how stupid the task." Miroku said.

"Only weak men fall for that." Sesshomaru said.

"Your saying in all of the time you've seen Rin you've never done that?" Inuyasha found it hard to believe.

"Not even once." Sesshomaru said.

"Have you seen her outfit? It may be simple but it does have its effect on men." Miroku said.

"I came in right after she left to change so I have not seen her outfit." Sesshomaru said.

Kagome walked into the room. "Can I get anything for you?" She asked.

"No." Inuyasha said trying not to look at her.

"Actually could you ask Rin to come in here?" Miroku asked.

Kagome looked puzzled but nodded and left. "We'll see what effects Rin has on you." Inuyasha smirked.

"I assure you she has no effect on me whatsoever." Sesshomaru said confidently.

Rin walked into the room. "You wanted to see me?" She asked. She was wearing an outfit identical to Kagome's only her blouse was white and showed a little more cleavage.

Sesshomaru's mouth dropped open and his eyes glazed over. Inuyasha and Miroku stared in shock at the man they once knew as emotionless. "Never mind sorry to have asked for you in here." Miroku said.

Rin shrugged and walked out of the room. Inuyasha and Miroku laughed as soon as the door closed.

Sesshomaru realized what he had just done and scowled. "Shut up." He muttered.
