More Fighting

Shippo ran inside the living room and jumped over the couch. "Oi runt, don't jump on the furniture." Inuyasha scolded.

He just stuck his tongue out at him and ran into his room.

"Shall we finish what we started?" Inuyasha whispered in Kagome's ear.

"Oh the paperwork! Good idea. We should turn it in now." Kagome said. She knew what he was talking about, but she wasn't going to make it easy for him.

"You know what I was talking about." Inuyasha said angrily.

"I know, the paperwork. I'll go mail it right now." Kagome said. She quickly grabbed the envelope and ran to the door.

Inuyasha sighed. She was teasing him and he didn't like it. She ignored him long enough. His thoughts were interrupted when Kagome walked inside. "Inuyasha can you do me a favor?" She asked.

"What?" Inuyasha asked a little skeptical.

"Can you take it down to the office? They're still open." Kagome said. "Please?"

"Why should I? You've been ignoring me for a while, so why should I do you any favors?" Inuyasha crossed his arms waiting for his answer.

"Please?" Kagome pouted, hoping that he would do it. "I'll do something nice for you later."

"Promise?" Inuyasha asked.

"I promise." Kagome said.

"How long is the office open for?" Inuyasha asked.

"Until eight." Kagome said.

"That's all the way across town."

"So?"

"So it will take a while."

"So?"

Inuyasha sighed and grabbed his jacket. "I'll see you in a while." He said.

Kagome ran up and kissed his cheek before he left. "Arigato." Kagome said.

"I do all that, and all I get is a kiss on the cheek." Inuyasha mumbled as he left.

While Inuyasha was gone, Kagome spent some time with Shippo. They watched a movie and played a couple of games. She stood up when the phone rang. "Hello?" She answered.

"Kagome?"

"Hai, who's this?" She asked not recognizing the voice.

"It's Kouga."

"What are you calling about?" Kagome asked.

"I just want to apologize. I didn't mean to hurt you like I did. I thought about what you said, and I at least want us to be friends." Kouga said.

"How did you get my number?"

"Eri gave it to me. Could you meet me for dinner?"

"I don't know. Inuyasha will be angry."

"Please, I want to make it up to you." Kouga pleaded.

"I can't tonight, I have Shippo with me."

"Can't you leave him with someone?" Kouga asked. "I won't be in town for long."

"I can't do that to Shippo." Kagome said. She heard the door open and saw Inuyasha walk in.

"Please I want to clear things up between us."

"Maybe I can meet you tonight."

"I'm at Kalen's right now."

"I'll be there as soon as I can." Kagome hung up the phone and grabbed her coat. "I'm going out for a little bit. It's an emergency."

Kagome kissed Inuyasha on the cheek and left before he could argue. Shippo ran out of the room into the living room. "Where were you?" He asked.

"None of your business. Kagome left. Do you know where she went?" Inuyasha asked.

"Nope, someone called and that's all I know. I didn't even know she left until now." Shippo said. "Want to watch a movie?"

Inuyasha thought about her weird behavior. "Whatever." He mumbled and sat down on the couch.

Kagome looked around at the restaurant and noticed Kouga waving her over to his table. "Do you want anything?" He asked.

"No, I just ate." Kagome said.

"Thanks for meeting me."

"I had to run out on Inuyasha."

"Why?"

"Otherwise he wouldn't have let me come. He's still pissed off at you for what you've done." Kagome said.

"I can't blame him. I'm moving to Shinjuku soon. I wanted to apologize and at least still keep in touch. Still be friends."

"I guess." Kagome said.

A couple hours later Kagome walked into her room. Inuyasha was already in bed and she assumed he was asleep since he hadn't acknowledged her at all. After changing into her nightgown, she climbed into the bed next to Inuyasha.

"Where have you been?"

Kagome gasped in shock not thinking he was awake. "I was out."

"That's obvious. Be a little more specific." Inuyasha said.

"I was out with a friend."

Inuyasha sighed and rolled over on top of her. "Where? You owed me, and then you go and leave. You didn't even say where you were going or how long you were going to be gone." He said.

"I was in a hurry. They're moving and I won't be able to see them again." Kagome sighed.

"It was a guy."

"How did you know that? Were you following me?" Kagome asked angrily.

"I can smell the cologne, baka." Inuyasha said. "Who was it? It had better not have been that Holo guy."

"It wasn't." Kagome said. She pushed Inuyasha off of her and got up. She headed for the kitchen as he got up to follow her.

"Then who was it?"

"What's it matter?" Kagome asked.

"Because you're being defensive about it!" Inuyasha yelled. "Was it Kouga?"

"And if it was?"

"You saw that asshole after all that shit he put you through?" Inuyasha shouted.

"He wanted to apologize. He's moving and wanted to be on friendly terms before he left." Kagome explained.

"That doesn't mean you should go see him! What if he was lying and wanted to do something else?"

"Can't you just trust my judgment?"

"Not if you're going to trust perverts like him! Do you even remember what he did to you?" Inuyasha yelled.

"I trust him because he was my friend. He was just jealous that I was with you before he could do anything. He knew I didn't want him and it made him angry."

"He could just be making stuff up so you would trust him again!"

"He's not like that!" Kagome defended. "Why can't you just trust me on that?"

"I can't trust you if you're going to be like this!"

Kagome went quiet and bent her head. "You can't even trust me a little on this." She whispered. She raised her voice to yell at him. "Fine, then I don't need to be with someone that can't trust me or my judgment!"

"Kago-" Inuyasha was interrupted when Kagome grabbed her coat, walked out, and slammed the door shut.

He ran to the door to stop her but she had already turned down the corner. He couldn't leave since Shippo was sleeping. "Fuck!" Inuyasha shouted as he walked back into the house. He'd have to call Miroku and Sesshomaru so they could watch out for her. More than likely she'd go to one of their houses to talk to either Sango or Rin. They were not going to appreciate being woken up so late at night.

Kagome walked for a while to Sango's house. She tried to keep her tears in. Why couldn't he just trust her? Kouga would never do anything serious to harm her, especially after their talk in the elevator. She saw the sorrow in his eyes as the elevator door closed.

She waited for someone to answer the door after she rang the doorbell. "Kagome? What are you doing here so late?" Sango asked and moved out of the way so Kagome could walk in. "Where's Inuyasha?"

Kagome broke down and told Sango what had happened. Miroku walked in eventually to find out why Sango hadn't come to bed. He told her that Inuyasha had called to let him know that Kagome had left and to call him if he heard from her.

"Don't tell Inuyasha Kagome's here. Give her some time alone." Sango told Miroku.

"I wasn't going to say anything anyway. I'll talk to him tomorrow." Miroku said.

"You can sleep in Rin's old room." Sango offered.

"Arigato Sango. Sorry for bothering you." Kagome sniffled.

"Don't worry about it. You should get some sleep." Sango said.

Kagome nodded and walked down the hall to Rin's old room. She hung her coat on the hook on the back of the door and laid down in bed. As soon as she closed her eyes she fell asleep.

miroku's wife_sango- Yes, Sango and Miroku live together.

a mommy()- Inuyasha will be more responsible with Shippo soon. Right now he's a little irresponsible when it comes to taking care of Shippo. Since Kagome has come into his life he realizes how important taking care of Shippo is. It'll change soon enough. I didn't mean to make him seem so irresponsible. It just kind of happened.

heavens_angel()- I don't know when this fic will end. I'm going to try to focus a little more on Miroku, Sango, Sesshomaru, and Rin soon. I've been neglecting them. And yes, I do like Pocky. I love it!

Aura-serenity4- Kohaku lives with Sango's parents. Shippo is going to be adopted. Rin and Sesshomaru are living together.
