Back Together

The next day, Inuyasha stopped by at Miroku's house with Shippo to see if Kagome had come by. "Inuyasha, come in." Miroku let him in.

"Have you seen Kagome?" Inuyasha asked.

"No, why?" Miroku asked.

"We had a fight last night, and she left. I would've chased after her but Shippo was sleeping in his room." Inuyasha explained.

"What happened?"

"She met with Kouga and didn't say anything about it. She just left without explaining anything, and then wouldn't tell me when she got home." Inuyasha said. "She said I wasn't trusting."

"Well, you aren't. You're very jealous." Miroku said.

"I can't help it. I don't want to lose her. She's the only one for me. I know she deserves better, but I just can't let her go." Inuyasha said.

"You're really attached to her, aren't you?" Miroku asked.

"Yeah. I never expected to fall so hard for someone. I can't lose her, not when I love her so much." Inuyasha confessed. It was the first time he'd ever told anyone, let alone say it out loud.

"Maybe you should try telling her." Miroku said. He couldn't believe those words came out of his mouth.

"I have to find her first. Will you let me know if you see her around?" Inuyasha asked. "I have to stop by Sesshomaru's to see if she went to see Rin."

"I'll be sure to let you know." Miroku said. He shut the door when he left. "Did you hear that, Kagome?"

Kagome stepped out from the hallway. She didn't think Inuyasha felt that way about her. Sure she loved him too, but never really thought to act on it. "Hai, I heard it." She said.

"At least you know he's sorry." Miroku said. "I feel kind of bad for lying to him though. What are you going to do?"

"I...I don't know." Kagome said.

"Think about it. I'm going to get some lunch. Want anything?" Miroku asked.

"No, I'm fine." She said and walked back to the room.

"He really loves her." Sango said in disbelief.

"I thought you were taking a shower." Miroku asked.

"I was going to, but I heard the doorbell and went to answer it. I had to hear what Inuyasha had to say." Sango admitted. "I'll be in the shower now."

"Mind if I join you?" Miroku asked.

"Don't even think about it." Sango rolled her eyes.

Inuyasha stopped by Sesshomaru's house and got the same answer as he did from Miroku. Where could Kagome have gone? He couldn't think of anywhere she would go. `Damn it, I really screwed up this time.' He thought.

Not knowing where else to check he headed home. He could always call her mother to see if she went there. Then it would seem like he wasn't being good to her. What to do? He was still surprised that he'd told Miroku that he loved her. If he found her he'd tell her. Maybe then she'd understand.

Inuyasha unlocked the door and stepped inside. He took off his jacket and headed for his room. That's when he noticed Kagome was sleeping on the couch. He walked over to her and gently shook her. "Kagome." He said.

She mumbled and opened her eyes. "Inuyasha." She said and sat up rubbing her eyes.

"Where have you been?" Inuyasha hugged her.

"Out." She hugged him back. "I'm sorry I overreacted yesterday."

"It was my fault. I should've trusted you." Inuyasha leaned back to look at her. "I was just afraid of losing you."

"I keep telling you. You're not going to lose me. How many times do I have to tell you?" Kagome said.

"I know, but I still worry. You're too good for me, but I won't let you go." Inuyasha said. "I love you."

"I love you too." Kagome jumped in his arms and knocked him to the ground. He was shocked to hear her reply. She giggled at the look on his face. "I heard you talking to Miroku."

"That bastard lied to me!" Inuyasha yelled.

"I asked him too. I knew you were going to come looking for me." Kagome smiled.

"You still owe me a favor." Inuyasha smirked.

"Hentai." Kagome mumbled. "Where's Shippo?"

"Daycare. I told him you left early to see Sango and Rin." Inuyasha said. "Now, about my favor."

"You don't think about anything else, do you?" Kagome asked.

"Sure I do. Just not now." Inuyasha smirked and licked her neck.

"I'm not doing this in the living room." Kagome said.

"Fine then, we'll move this to the bedroom." Inuyasha picked Kagome up and walked to their room. He threw her on the bed and lifted his shirt over his head.

Kagome grabbed his hair and pulled him down for a kiss. He put his legs on both sides of her waist and moved his hands under her shirt. He lightly rubbed from side to side just under her breasts.

She shivered in anticipation while running her hands over his chest. Inuyasha moved from her mouth and slowly made his way down to her breasts. He unbuttoned her shirt and lifted her up so he could slide it all the way off. He also unhooked her bra and threw it across the room.

He pushed her back down and kissed her breast. Kagome moaned and slipped her fingers into his hair. One hand massaged her breast while the other began to pull her skirt off. Kagome started unzipping his pants and pulled them down as far as she could.

Inuyasha pulled them all the way off and kicked them off. He pulled her skirt off all the way and almost ripped her panties off. Kagome opened her mouth to yell at him but was cut off by his kiss.

He leaned back over her and laced his fingers with hers. He smiled at her before thrusting into her. They both moaned and squeezed each other's hand. Kagome wrapped her legs around his waist and met his thrusts.

Inuyasha alternately kissed her breasts. He continued to thrust into her as he set a quick pace. They both panted, covered in a layer of sweat. Their moans echoed throughout the room.

They were both coming close. Kagome could no longer keep up with Inuyasha and let him take over. Inuyasha felt her tighten around him and moved faster. He leaned down near her ear and whispered, "I love you."

Kagome heard it and with one last thrust she screamed his name in release. Inuyasha came quickly afterwards. He braced himself on his elbows so he wouldn't crush her with his weight.

After they regained their composure Inuyasha moved to her side. He lazily kissed her neck. "I have to shower." Kagome said.

"Tell me you love me." Inuyasha said.

"You are so full of yourself." Kagome rolled her eyes. She turned around to face him and kissed him. "I love you."

Kagome stood up and walked into the bathroom. Inuyasha laid back in bed and waited for her to come back. He'd have to go pick Shippo up soon, and then their privacy would be ruined. He sighed and pulled the blanket up over his head.

Kagome got out of the shower and wrapped the towel around her body. She forgot to bring clothes in with her. She walked into her room to get some clothes. She changed into a red dress and walked out in the living room, ignoring whatever Inuyasha happened to be saying.

He huffed as he changed and walked into the living room. As soon as he sat down on the couch the phone rang. He stood up to answer it. "Hello?" He said.

"Hello am I speaking to Tetsusaiga, Inuyasha?" A lady asked.

"Yeah what do you want?"

"I'm calling about the adoption of Shippo."

"Did we forget to sign something?"

"No, it's not that. If you want to legally adopt Shippo as your own child, you must be evaluated."

"Evaluated?"

"Hai, someone must come by to make sure he will be financially secure and be able to get all the things he'll need. When will be the best time to come by?"

"Whenever. Make it quick though, we have things to do."

"I have someone that's ready to go now."

"Yeah whatever, send them over."

"Alright. They should be there soon." The lady said and hung up.

"Who was it?" Kagome asked.

"Some people from the adoption agency. They need to evaluate Shippo's living conditions before they can finalize the papers. They're on their way now." Inuyasha explained.

"What? Now?" Kagome asked.

"Yeah, what's wrong with that?" Inuyasha asked.

"I would've liked a warning. You need to change." Kagome pointed at what he was wearing. He just had on a pair of boxers.

"I'll change later." Inuyasha said and sat down on the couch.

"Change now!" Kagome pointed to the room. "We're not losing this adoption because you don't want to get dressed."

"Fine." Inuyasha went into the room and changed into black pants and a red shirt. He walked out of the room and sat back down on the couch. "Happy?"

"No, you should take a shower first." Kagome said.

"What?" Inuyasha shouted. Kagome shot him a look and he got up and walked into the bathroom mumbling.
