Chapter 003 - Two Of A Kind
Kagome sighed lowly as she sat on a beautiful futon, and she now wore a satin kimono covered in small sakura petals.
"I like it here, Kagome." Shippou said as he bounced up on the futon, sat down next to Kagome, and stared up at her, his green eyes filled with over flowing happiness.
"Don't you like it here?" He asked slightly confused by Kagome's sad face as he followed her gaze to the large window that lit the room.
"No, I like it here very much Shippou." She said and forced a smiled across her lips as she turned to look down at the small kit. However…I am still only a captive in this castle, just as I was in Naraku's mansion…She thought sadly and stared at the door to her new room she would most likely learn to call home.
"M'lady?" A voice asked before entering the room.
"Y-Yes?" Kagome asked a little confused by the respect the person had for her privacy.
"I am sorry to bother you but dinner is ready…" A young servant said as she glanced at Kagome and bowed respectively and then turned and walked back out of the room, shutting the door as she left.
Kagome stared at the closed door, her blue eyes now fixed on the wooden slab. "D-Did I just get an invitation?" She asked herself in a little bit of disbelief.
"It sounded like it Kagome…" Shippou said in a cheerful tone that he seemed to keep now that they were here, in the Western Land castle.
Perhaps this place will be different after all…Kagome thought as a small smile toyed with the edges of her lips.

Inuyasha roughly sat down at the table and huffed as he placed his elbows on the table and stared over at his brother who, without saying one word annoyed him. Just the look of his brother made him want to go on a rapid killing spree. "What?" He finally snapped out and slammed his hands to the table to only be scolded by his mother.
"Inuyasha do not yell at the table…And more over do not yell at your elder brother." Kirei, his mother said as she turned her soft caring eyes from Inuyasha to her mate who was still looking at their son with an annoyed face.
A door slowly opened and to Kagome's dismay three sets of amber eyes turned to look at her and it made her skin chill, until a warm, caring tone of voice spoke up.
"Hello my dear, you must be Kagome?" Kirei asked sweetly and gestured to a seat next to Inuyasha. "Come, sit…" She said kindly and smiled at her mate who only showed Kagome a kind smile that could barely be seen due to his clawed hands laced and in front of his mouth as if he had been in thought.
Kagome smiled thankfully, walked rather quickly over to the seat, sat down lightly, and then straightened her kimono out and glanced up at Inuyasha who seemed like he was staring daggers down at her. "H-Hello…" She said in a rather shaky voice and smiled shyly at him.
"Feh!" Was all the came from the mouth of the hanyou as he turned his gaze down to the table.
Kagome sighed heavy as if she had just done something wrong.
"Kagome?" Kirei asked, breaking the young girl from her thoughts as she shot her head up to look over at the middle-aged woman.
"Yes, M'lady?" Kagome asked politely. They seem nice enough, well all except for the two…Inuyasha and…Uhm…I don't know hi s name yet…She thought as her gaze drifted over to Sesshomaru who only shot her back an emotionless stare, his amber eyes soft yet cold as ice.
"Where are your parents?" She asked curiously, trying to start a conversation, which she found usually hard amongst her mate, son and stepson.
"Well," Kagome started. "My father died when I was little and my mother died about five years ago…That is when I was sent to live with Master Naraku…" She said, sighed, and fixed her gaze down at the finely painted plates on the table in front of her.
"Oh, you poor thing…" Kirei said sadly and looked over at her mate who gave her a side-glance that showed his sympathy.
Inuyasha stood without a word and shoved his chair from under him and then walked around it and slammed it back in place as he turned and stormed out of the room, and he could feel the confused and angry stares against his back as he retreated angrily.
"Inuyasha?" Kirei said slightly shocked and annoyed by her son's actions. "I am sorry Kagome, you will have to very look Inuyasha he has been through a rough ordeal lately…" She said with a weak smile and sighed looking down at her hands.
"I think it best that we go our ways for now…Since my son, Inuyasha seems to have problems I should go speak with him…" Inutaishou said and stood with a slight groan and then he stopped and leaned over to his mate's mouth and nodded after she spoke to him. "Kagome, would you mind doing us a great favor?" He asked and a small smile came to his face.

Stupid castle, stupid rules, stupid brother…Everything is stupid here! Inuyasha thought enraged just by the thought of what he was forced to put up with every day and night. "Why can't I just leave?" He snapped out as he ripped a defenseless leaf to shreds.
He sighed and then an odd but familiar scent graced his sensitive nose then he snarled at the remembrance. It was that girl, Kagome.
"Inu-Yasha?" Kagome asked lowly as she made her way out to where Inuyasha was, near a dim part of the castle gardens.
"What?" Inuyasha asked in a grumpy voice not looking over at the young human girl who had just sat down beside him.
Kagome hugged her knees close and laid her chin on her knees as she looked over at Inuyasha. He seems so frustrated…I wonder why? He has everything anyone could want. A family, a home, people who love and care for him…She thought and then she spoke. "Is something wrong?"
"Did my father ask you to come out here?" He asked, going around her question completely and she sighed a heavy sigh and looked down at her feet sadly.
"Yes…But I would have if he had not asked me too as well…" She said in a muffled tone due to her knees. "Something has to be bothering you? Do you need someone to talk too?" Kagome asked in a caring voice as she looked over at the side of his face then smiled weakly when he turned his soft amber eyes to look into her ocean blue pools.
He remained quiet and then he sighed and turned back to looking at the small waterfall that feed the garden flowers. "You do know that you were meant for my birthday present…Right?" Inuyasha asked in a stupid tone and glanced over at her out of the corner of his eye.
"No, I was merely told I would be leaving…" Kagome said and sighed then smiled. "Happy birthday then…" She said and smiled sweetly up at him almost causing a ting of redness across the hanyou's face.
He just seemed to huff off the embarrassment and turn back to watch a few butterflies swarm after the fresh blossoms of the flowers. She acts as if it was nothing for her to be given as a gift to someone…Inuyasha thought and stared at Kagome's reflection beside his in the small pond.
Kagome sighed and used her hand to brush a few strands of loose hair back behind her ear as she stared down at her feet idly "I can tell you don't want to talk so…" She said as she stood with a slight noise and then turned and smiled down at Inuyasha. "…But when ever you change your mind…I'll listen." She said her voice soft and understanding as she left the hanyou sitting slightly taken back by her tone of voice.
"You want her don't you?" A man's voice said as he stood closely behind Inuyasha. He was dressed in black and purple monk robes and he carried with him a staff. His short dark brown hair tied back in a small ponytail at the base of his neck and his blue eyes seemed to glimmer.
"You pervert…" Inuyasha said as if it was a normal comment, stood, and hit the monk across the back of the head sending him to the ground. "Why in hell would I want a human…She's worthless…" He said annoyed and stormed off toward the same way Kagome had left leaving a monk, buried face first, in the dirt of the garden.
"I was only stating the obvious my friend…" Miroku said as he lifted himself to a stand and dusted his robes off as he smirked at the retreating back of Inuyasha.

"Stupid monk…" Inuyasha cursed as he growled lowly to himself and stormed down the hallways toward his room but only to not be watching where he was going and run into a small girl who seemed to be around the age of ten or eleven.
"What's wrong?" She asked innocently and looked up at Inuyasha with her bright brown eyes and her shoulder brown hair tied back into a side ponytail, but most of her hair still lying down near her shoulders.
"Nothing, Rin…" He said and walked around the small human girl and continued on his way, without a second glance back at the girl who seemed to be a little offended by his quick leave.
