Good guess Spikecicle, but not quite. The decision to get rid of her from the school is because of what some people might say about her using powers there. Even if she did save the other students some would be concerned that she might as easily use them on them instead.

Suddenly Kagome let out a startled squeak and Inuyasha's head snaped up.

 

The man crawling through the window had a camera in his hands and was suddenly confronted by an angry Inuyasha. There must be many perils in being a reporter, like being punched out the window you were trying to sneak in.(AN: I don't really have anything against reporters in real life but the sterotype I don't like.) Kagome looked out the window, saw the many people in her yard and quickly shut the curtains to block their view.

 

After this is done Homo, I mean Hojo is heard from outside calling to Kagome.

 

”Come out and talk please Kagome. I brought you something.” Inuyasha, all sides, was fuming.

 

'How dare this puny boy show his face around here after what he did.'

 

*We should deal with this without our mate around.* InuDemon growled.

 

'Not mate.'

 

*Must we have this conversation every time? For now lets concentrate on the more pressing matter of Homo out there.*

 

'Agreed.'

 

“Everyone stay inside.” Inuyasha told the Higurashis in a serious voice and then he stalked outside.

 

As he opened the front door numerous camera flashes go off and many voices start talking all at once. Inuyasha ignores them all, he focused on a rather dull looking teenage boy just standing there with a smug look on his face.

 

*Lets wipe that look off his face. He needs to be taught a lesson. He needs to learn not to mess with the son of Inu No Taisho.*

 

'Yeah. But lets humiliate him.' Inuyasha suggests.

 

*Why not pound him?* Asked an eager inner demon.

 

'Because then Kagome can't get mad at us for hurting him and it'll teach him his lesson. As a bonus it's harder to heal dignity and pride than it is to heal wounds.'

 

InuDemon rumbled his approval. Upon reaching Hojo he grabbed his collar and lifted him up so that his toes were just touching the ground.

 

“Why are you doing this you fucking bastard? What did she do to you? And why in the hell did you keep trying to force her to go out with you? Can't take a hint?” Inuyasha's eyes were full of loathing which sharply contrasted with a voice so emotionless it would have made his brother proud. Hojo couldn't seem to comprehend the danger he was in. He responded in a biting tone,

 

“She made me look like a fool time and again, always standing me up. Why keep trying? After a while it became a matter of pride to try and get her. At first though it was to be a notch in my belt, so to speak. Imagine, to be the first guy in school to get Higurashi? #smirk# ”This is my way to get revenge!”

 

Poor Hojo didn't notice that Inuyasha's eyes started to flash red during his rant when he spoke of getting Kagome. Eyes somewhere between gold and red Inuyasha said with a snarl,

 

”You are so lucky that Kagome would be upset if I killed someone, otherwise you would be dead!” This diatribe was punctuated by Inuyasha's tightening grip on Hojo, proving just how strong he was.

 

“How dare you upset her. And trying to go out with her because of that!? You are pathetic and don't deserve her.” He tossed him a little ways away. “You and the others should get lost before I get really angry.” He cracked his knuckles as he finished. Hojo stood up and scowled at Inuyasha.

 

“Come on. Where is she? Just a few pictures won't hurt will they?” Was the mocking reply.

 

Mama and Kagome had ignored Inuyasha's order, of course, and watched the scene in disbelief. Hojo had been so nice. Kagome could see that Inuyasha's demon was close to the surface, though she was not sure why.

 

“Mama you have to send those people away now.” Kagome told her mother urgently. She then ran to Inuyasha. Mama ordered the spectators to,

 

“Leave us alone and stop harassing my daughter.” They reluctantly left with much grumbling, its just started to get good.

 

Inuyasha was so extremely close to loosing it and thrashing Hojo that his eyes were almost completely red and his markings were beginning to show. Hojo who, surprisingly, had some sense of self preservation kept very still.

 

*Why is everyone out to get our mate?!*

 

'Because she is special. We can't kill him, She would not want it.'

 

*We must! He hurt Her.* InuDemon purred the last word as he got a whiff of Kagome's sent. Kagome stands between the two males and walks towards Inuyasha, who's demon side is slightly mollified.

 

*She turned her back on him.* InuDemon rumbled in satisfaction *She rejects him.*

Seeing her walk away from him, Hojo stands up and moves to grab her. Only to be stopped by a feral snarl from Inuyasha that made even Mrs H's blood run cold, and it wasn't even directed at her. Still not facing him Kagome tells Hojo,

 

”Go away. I heard everything and I think you should leave.” Her voice was soft so she didn't rile Inuyasha any more, but it still adequately conveyed her anger. Then she slowly walked to Inuyasha and without any sudden movements, raised her hands to touch his marks. As she did this she gently called out,

 

“Inuyasha. Inuyasha.”

 

*Mate accepts us?* Both sides were shocked that she would come this close to him in this state after he had hurt her in Kaguya's castle. *The dead wench never accepted me, or you, only him.* InuDemon's disgust was clear *Mate isn't afraid of me.* Inuyasha, still mostly demonic, growls contentedly. In a deep voice he asks,

 

“Are you all right?” When she nods he drags her closer to him and buries his nose in her hair proclaiming, “Mine.”

 

Kagome freezes wondering if she heard him right. Feeling her tense up Inuyasha starts to pull away, until she wraps her arms around his neck.

 

 

The OOCness is a way I thought to explain why Hojo keeps going after Kagome when she is obviously not interested.
