Chapter 7

Lots of Thinking

Kagome stood there. Had she heard him right? "Nani?" She whispered.

"I love you." He said again. It had taken all his courage to tell her that. He'd wanted to tell her for a while but never had the guts to tell her. He was afraid she would get scared and run away or something.

Kagome stood there doing nothing. Did she love him? She'd never thought about it before. What was she supposed to say? How could she answer him?

Inuyasha sensed her struggling to answer him. "It's ok Kagome. You don't have to say anything. I'll let you think about. Come on I'll take you home." He wrapped his arms around her waist and they walked to the car.

Inuyasha started the car and drove to her house. The car ride was silent. Kagome looked out the window. She was going to have to think long and hard about it. Sure she liked him a lot but she never thought about love.

Inuyasha stopped in front of her house. He walked her to her door. "Good night Kagome. I'll pick you up tomorrow morning for school." Inuyasha said. He was about to leave but Kagome grabbed his arm. "Nani?" He said.

Kagome pulled him close to her and kissed him. Inuyasha was a little shocked she made the first move but responded after it wore off. He soon took over and explored her mouth when she opened up.

Kagome pulled back. They were both panting. "Arigato for tonight." Kagome said and walked into the house.

Inuyasha stood there for a couple of minutes staring at her door. He shook his head and left. `If I knew I was going to get a kiss like that I'd do this more often.' He thought. He walked to his car.

Kagome walked into her room and changed for bed. She got into bed. She couldn't get the words out of her head. Over and over again she heard them. `I'll think about it tomorrow.' She thought and went to sleep.

Kagome woke up the next morning. She got dressed and went downstairs to eat breakfast. Her mom handed her, her keys. "Sango came by last night and told me to give these to you." She said.

"Thanks mom." Kagome said. She grabbed her bag and waited on the shrine stairs for Inuyasha. About five minutes later he drove in front of the house. She ran to his car and got in.

"Hey Kagome." Inuyasha said.

"Hey Inuyasha." Kagome said. He leaned over and kissed her. Then he drove to school. He parked his car and they both went to find Sango and Miroku.

They found the couple at one of their lockers. "I have to go to the bathroom." Kagome said and looked at Sango.

"I have to go to." Sango said and left with Kagome.

"Women and their bathroom trips." Miroku said. "So did you tell her?"

"Hai." Inuyasha said.

"You don't seem to excited about it. What did she say?" Miroku asked.

"She didn't say anything. I told her that it was all right and that she could think about it." Inuyasha told him.

"Don't worry I'm sure she loves you too." Miroku said.

"Feh." Inuyasha said.

In the bathroom Sango waited for Kagome to say something. Seeing as how she wasn't going to say anything Sango asked, "Why did you want to come here?"

"Well last night." Kagome said. "Last night Inuyasha told me he loved me."

"That's great." Sango said. Kagome had a sad look on her face. "It's not great? What did you say?"

"I didn't say anything. He told me to think about it."

"That's good it means he's not going to pressure you or anything. Have you thought about it?"

"Well I have but I never thought about it before so I don't know."

"I think you already know." Sango said. "You're probably just confused or something. You should just clear your mind." She walked out of the bathroom.

"Clear my mind." Kagome said. `I already knew that.' She thought.

She walked out of the bathroom to go find her friends. She bumped into someone. "Oh gomen." She said.

"It's all right Kagome." Naraku said.

`I don't need this right now.' Kagome thought. She started walking away.

"I heard you got in a fight with Inuyasha." He said.

"How does this stuff get around so fast?" Kagome whispered. "I was but we're ok now."

"That's too bad. I still think I'd be better than him." He said. "From now on it's war between us guys. I know Kouga is after you too."

"Does nobody listen anymore?" Kagome yelled. "I choose Inuyasha."

"Doesn't mean anything. I'm the kind of guy who gets what he wants." Naraku said. "If anyone stands in the way I get rid of them. Be sure to tell Inuyasha." He walked away.

Kagome sighed. No one knows when to give up. `Where in the hell did all these egotistical, arrogant bakas come from.' She wondered. She found Inuyasha, Sango, and Miroku.

"What's wrong?" Inuyasha asked. He could see the frustration in her eyes. He hoped he wasn't the cause of it.

"I just saw Naraku in the hallway. He said something about going to war over me." Kagome said.

"Nani?" Inuyasha yelled. "What war? You're already mine."

"Who cares just ignore him." Kagome said. The bell rang for class. "Come on we better get to class. Onegai don't make a scene in class. Just let it go."

"Feh, I'm not promising anything." He said as they walked to their class.

School was finally out. Inuyasha spent the whole day glaring daggers at Naraku and Kouga. Miroku was staring at Sango while she was trying to get him to stop.

Kagome spent the whole day thinking about Inuyasha. She knew she should've been studying or doing work for class but she couldn't get it out of her head. Sango told her she probably already did. Then why was she questioning herself?

She finally asked herself if she could see her life without him. She couldn't. Then she asked herself if she saw a future with him. She thought about it and she did. Then she realized that she watched way too much TV.

She finally had her answer. She loved him. Now she all she had to do was tell him. She was scared to tell him. She didn't know why. He'd already said it so why should she be afraid to tell him? She decided it was just one of those girl things where they got too emotional about it.

She met Inuyasha in the hallway and walked to his car. They both got in and Inuyasha drove to her house. No one had planned to do anything after school. So they all decided to go home.

Inuyasha stopped in front of her house. He walked her to her door. "I'll call you later." He said.

"Hai." Kagome said. She blushed.

"What's wrong?" Inuyasha asked.

"Nothing it's just that I wanted to tell you I love you." She whispered. Just because she had been with him for a long time didn't mean she didn't get embarrassed.

"I love you too." He leaned down and kissed her. He'd never been so happy in his life. He had to admit that he was worried for a while. She looked bothered by it in class.

"Eww I hope your not going to be doing that while we're at the carnival." Souta said.

"Souta." Kagome said angrily.

"What day should we go?" He asked.

"How about never." Kagome said.

"I'll just tell mom that…"

"Ok. We'll still take you." Kagome said.

"How about Saturday?" Inuyasha asked. "I'm not doing anything then."

"Fine we'll go Saturday." Kagome sighed. How did she get herself into situations like these?

"Ok. No kissing." Souta yelled and ran into the house.

"Well that just ruined a very good moment." Inuyasha said.

"At least it happened." Kagome said. "Saturday at ten?"

"Hai. I'll be here to pick you up at ten." Inuyasha said. "I still don't see why I have to go." He mumbled.

"You were the one that got us into trouble." Kagome said.

"Feh." Inuyasha smirked.

"I'm going inside before that head of yours gets to big." Kagome gave him a peck on the lips and walked inside.

"You tell a girl you love her and all you get is a quick kiss." Inuyasha mumbled while walking to his car. He was still happy.
