Chapter 14

Public Groping

Kagome woke up the next morning. She realized she'd woken up later than she expected. She ran around her room to get ready. She had gone to sleep early so she could wake up in time to get ready.

She hadn't done anything after she called Inuyasha. When he answered the phone he sounded out of breath. When she asked him what was wrong he said he'd gotten in a fight with Sesshomaru about his car. From what Inuyasha said Sesshomaru saw an imaginary scratch on his car.

Kagome had just gotten out of the shower when she heard the doorbell ring. "I'll get it." Souta shouted from downstairs. She ran to her room and looked for something to wear.

"She's in her room. I think she's changing." Souta said.

"Arigato." Inuyasha said. He smirked and walked upstairs. He walked into the room. At that moment Kagome was putting her shirt on. It was the last thing she needed to be fully clothed.

Inuyasha smiled and stepped behind her. Kagome stopped trying to put her shirt on. She thought she heard something. No one was in front of her though. She felt someone's breath on her neck.

She was about to scream and hit whoever was behind her but the person grabbed her arm and spun her around. His lips caught whatever noise she was going to make. He pulled back and was rewarded with a surprised look on her face.

"Inuyasha!" She shouted. Then she realized he wasn't looking at her face. Then she realized she didn't have a shirt on. She blushed and threw it over her head and pulled it down.

The happiness on Inuyasha's face died when she had the shirt on. She hit him. "Oi, I didn't do anything." He said.

"You came in here without knocking, scared me half to death, and stared at my chest and you say you didn't do anything." Kagome said. "I didn't even have a shirt on."

"What's your point?" He said.

"You're such a hentai." Kagome said. She gasped as Inuyasha kissed her. He always, always caught her off guard.

"Don't get me confused with Miroku." Inuyasha said.

"Confuse you? You're almost exactly like him." Kagome said.

"If that's what you think of me then fine." Inuyasha said.

"We're going to be late." Kagome panicked. She ran out of her room. When she noticed Inuyasha wasn't following she walked back in and grabbed him by the ear and dragged him downstairs.

"Oi, bitch that hurts." Inuyasha yelled.

"Good." Kagome said after she let go she flicked his ear. "Don't call me that."

They both walked to his car. Well Sesshomaru's car and got in. They were silent until they got to the theatre. Sango and Miroku were already waiting for them. "What took you so long?" Sango asked.

"Someone was being a baka." Kagome said.

"Ok well lets go. I already got the tickets." Sango said.

"What movie are we watching?" Inuyasha asked.

"You'll find out when we get in there." Kagome said. They all walked into the theatre and sat down in the back.

"I can't believe we had to watch that boring movie." Inuyasha said.

"I know and it was so long too." Miroku said.

"Oh come on it was only an hour and a half long." Sango said.

"An hour and a half too long if you ask me." Inuyasha said.

"I loved that movie." Kagome said. Sango agreed.

"You're girls, of course you're going to like that mushy stuff." Miroku said and Inuyasha agreed.

"Well I guess we'll Sango and I will eat alone." Kagome said. They both walked towards a restaurant.

"You had to say that didn't you?" Inuyasha said. He followed the girls.

"It's true though." Miroku said.

"Don't let them hear that or they'll get mad." Inuyasha said.

When they got to the restaurant they sat down and ordered their food. While they were waiting Inuyasha and Miroku copped a feel. "Inuyasha/ Miroku!" The girls yelled.

"What?" Inuyasha asked.

"That was something I expected from Miroku but not you." Kagome said. He usually didn't grope her in public.

"Well from what you said I act just like him." Inuyasha said. He smirked. "I can't help if my hand wanders." He said in an imitation of Miroku.

"Good job Inuyasha." Miroku said.

"Don't encourage him." Kagome shouted. She was about to say something to Inuyasha but the food interrupted her comment.

They all ate in silence. When the bill was paid they walked out of the restaurant. "Well I'm going to go now." Sango said. "See you later Kagome. Come on hentai." She said to Miroku. He obediently followed her.

"We should go to." Kagome said. After a while of silence of driving in the car Kagome decided to speak. "I didn't mean you act exactly like Miroku. I meant you think alike."

"You should have said that. It could have saved you from that embarrassing public grope." Inuyasha laughed.

"Ha ha Inuyasha very funny." Kagome said. She realized that they weren't on their way to her house. "Where are we going?"

"Somewhere." Inuyasha said. "It's a surprise.

"I don't like that tone of voice." Kagome said. She knew he was up to something. She probably wasn't going to like it either.

"Ugh come on just pick one." Kagome yelled. Inuyasha's surprise had been to drag her to the car dealers to get a new car. They'd been walking around for hours.

"I think I know what I want." Inuyasha said.

"What?" Kagome asked.

"You'll see." He threw his car keys at her. "Drive this to your house. And be careful it's still Sesshomaru's car. Wait for me there."

"What for?" Kagome asked.

Inuyasha grabbed her butt and held her to him. "Better go now or I'll do worse." Inuyasha smirked.

"You wouldn't." Kagome said.

He brought his other hand and grabbed her. He leaned down and nipped her neck. "Try me." He said.

Kagome jumped out of his embrace as soon as she felt teeth on her neck. She walked to his car knowing she wasn't going to get anything out of him and got in the car.

As soon as she drove away he walked into the car dealers office and asked for the papers for what he wanted. He hated this part. About an hour of waiting to see if things got through. He sat down and waited.

Kagome sat in her room and was about to start on her homework when her mom called her downstairs. "Kagome I would like to talk to you." Ms. Higurashi said.

"Hai." Kagome said. She walked downstairs. "What did you want to talk about?"

"Have a seat." Her mom said and pointed to the chair across from her. "This is going to be hard to explain so I'll start from the beginning."

"Go on." Kagome urged.

"Well at work today I found out a little boys parents were murdered. He has no other family and will end up at that horrible orphanage down town." She said.

"That's awful." Kagome said. "Is that what you wanted to tell me because it's not a very nice story.

"No that's not what I wanted to tell you." She said. "Well I'm going to adopt him."

"The little boy?" Her mother nodded. "You're going to be his foster mother?"

"Well more of a provider." Her mom said. "I just wanted to tell you."

"Hai, I think that's great mom. Let me know if I can help." Kagome said. She got up to leave.

"Well I was wondering if you could take him out tomorrow and show him around, enroll him at Souta's school, and maybe get to know him." She said. "They lived pretty far away and I told him I'd pick him up tomorrow but I have a meeting I can't get out of."

"So he knows already?" Kagome asked.

"Hai, I told him to at least come live with us for a while and he can decide whether he wants to stay or not." Ms. Higurashi said.

"Sure I can do that I guess. I hadn't really planned on it." Kagome said.

"Well I have to go back to work to finish some work before tomorrow. I'll write everything down and leave it for you before I go to work tomorrow. Don't worry about Souta tomorrow he'll be at a friend's house for the night so Shippo won't be uncomfortable. I don't think Souta's energy will be needed."

"Hai." Kagome said. She walked back upstairs. Her mom was really caring. She offered to take a boy in when she didn't know him. She just hoped him moving in was a good thing. Hopefully he wouldn't be a rotten brat like Souta.

Kagome heard honking outside her window. She walked outside and looked to see who it was. Inuyasha was at his car with some spare keys in his hand. "I have to go now and finish some last minute crap with the papers I need to sign." Inuyasha said.

"Hai." Kagome said. Inuyasha pulled her in for a kiss but she backed away. Inuyasha growled. "After all that public groping you think I'm going to kiss you? I don't think so." Kagome said.

Inuyasha grabbed her wrist swung her back into his embrace and kissed her. Kagome didn't pull away. She couldn't even if she wanted too. He pulled away leaving her dazed. "Remember we still never finished that talk. You're lucky I have paperwork to sign." He said and drove away.

Kagome thought about what he said. What talk? She didn't remember anything. Then it hit her. She ran into the house as soon as she realized she was still outside. She didn't think he remembered that.

Kagome walked to her room and sat at her desk. She decided to finish her homework since she would by busy tomorrow. She wondered what Shippo was like. She assumed that was his name. Her mom had said it earlier.
