Finding Information

 

The next morning Inuyasha woke his family up. “We need to go to the office. I'll call someone to fix it when we get there and I'll call Miroku and Sango to see if they can baby-sit.” Inuyasha said and walked out of the room.

 

“I'll go get dressed!” Shippo said and jumped out of bed.

 

Kagome stretched before standing up to change Inuko's diaper. She then went to the closet to get something to wear. She chose a light yellow sundress. “Why are we leaving them with Miroku and Sango?” Kagome asked.

 

“As much as I'd hate to leave them, you have a doctor's appointment. A hospital is no place for them. Besides I trust Miroku and Sango with them.” Inuyasha said. “They know how to take care of themselves, especially Sango. She did put Miroku in line.”

 

Kagome giggled. “That's true.”

 

Shippo ran into the room and waited for everyone to be ready. “Let's go.” Inuyasha said.

 

“Wait, aren't you going to call them first?” Kagome asked.

 

“No, they usually aren't busy.” Inuyasha grabbed Inuko's diaper bag and headed next door. He knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer.

 

“Ah Inuyasha, come in.” Miroku opened the door more and stepped to the side.

 

“I don't have time. Can you watch the kids. We had some trouble last night and we need to go to the hospital.” Inuyasha said.

 

“Kagome finally beat you good?” Miroku laughed.

 

“That's not what I meant lecher. Some youkai broke into our house and tried to attack the kids. Kagome has a check up at the hospital and I need to get someone to fix the broken window.” Inuyasha explained.

 

“Oh I see.” Miroku said more seriously. “Well I'm sure Sango and my fighting skills are rusty but we should be able to protect the kids should something happen.”

 

“That really eases my nerves.” Inuyasha rolled his eyes.

 

“Thanks Miroku. Tell Sango I said hi.” Kagome kissed Inuko on the forehead and handed him to Miroku. “Be good Shippo.”

 

“I will!” Shippo said and waved goodbye.

 

Inuyasha grabbed Kagome's hand and lead her to the car.

Once they were at the hospital, the nurse checked them in and gave them a room to wait in for the doctor. About ten minutes of waiting the doctor finally came in. “Hello Kagome how have you been?” The doctor asked.

 

“I'm fine.” Kagome said.

 

“Okay, I'm just going to do a regular check up. Any more pains, or anything unusual happen?” The doctor asked and proceeded to check her heartbeat. He noticed Inuyasha growling as he opened her shirt a little. “Would you like to step outside? I know how youkai get.”

 

“No, just hurry up and watch your hands.” Inuyasha growled lightly.

 

Kagome giggled and covered her mouth when he glared at her. The doctor continued his check up with an amused look on his face. “I think that's it.” The doctor said. “You seem fine, if the pain comes again then just come back.”

 

“That's it?” Kagome asked.

 

“Hai.” The doctor said.

 

“Thanks a lot!” Kagome said. She grabbed Inuyasha's hand and lead him out of the building. “Your jealousy will never end will it?”

 

“Fuck no!” Inuyasha snapped.

 

“He's a doctor.” Kagome said.

 

“I don't care! He was getting too close!” Inuyasha yelled.

 

Kagome sighed and shook her head. “He's a doctor. There are things he needs to do. It's your fault anyway. I didn't need a checkup but since you insisted... So where to now?”

 

“The office. Sesshomaru has some connections with people in high places. I thought maybe he could get someone to find out what the hell is going on.” Inuyasha said.

 

“I'm impressed. Your actually going to do this the smart way and not just go in fighting?” Kagome teased. “Your starting to act more like an adult.”

 

“I don't know anything about the guy who stormed in last night except the fact that he was trying to avenge his brother that you killed.” Inuyasha said. “I don't really have much to go on for the fighting approach. Besides I want you and the kids to be fine.”

 

“I'm sure we'll be fine. The kids are safe and I'm with you. Nothing could go wrong.” Kagome said reassuringly even if she didn't believe it herself.

 

“Just get in the car.” Inuyasha glared at her for the being mature comment.

“So what is it you need?” Sesshomaru asked. Inuyasha had just explained what happened after calling someone to fix his house. He had Kagome wait outside of the office while he talked with his half brother.

 

“With your connections I thought maybe you'd be able to do something about it. Have someone get some information.” Inuyasha said.

 

“I see.” Sesshomaru put the papers in his hands on his desk. “I'll see what I can do but there's not guarantee that I'll be able to get any information. Whoever is attacking Kagome is being very careful. I'll need to have a word with your mate then. I need as much information as possible.”

 

“Yeah I'll get her.” Inuyasha walked to the door and called Kagome to go in. She quickly stood from her seat and walked into the office.

 

“Is there anyone who might be a threat to you? Or anyone you'd think might want to hurt you or your family?” Sesshomaru asked.

 

“No, and I have no clue as to who it might be either.” Kagome bent her head. “I'm sorry I can't be of much help.”

 

“It's not your fault. I'll do as much as I can to help.” Sesshomaru said.

 

“Thank you so much! Oh and please be careful. Whoever's doing this is going after people close to me. I don't want anything to happen to you or Rin.” Kagome said.

 

“I assure you Rin and I will be fine.” Sesshomaru said with a little smile. “Thanks for your concern. I'll call you if I find any information.”

 

“Bye Sesshomaru. Tell Rin I said hi!” Kagome waved and stepped out of the office with Inuyasha right behind her.

 

“Sesshomaru can take care of himself.” Inuyasha assured Kagome. “Rin will be fine too.”

 

“I know I just want them to be careful.” Kagome sighed.

 

“Sesshomaru's not a weakling like the other youkai.” Inuyasha said. “He's pretty powerful.”

 

“I know. You are too.” Kagome stood on her tiptoes to kiss him on the cheek. “You be careful too.”

 

“Of course I will. I can't screw up and let something happen to you or the kids.” Inuyasha said.

 

“Well Shippo has proved that he can take care of himself.” Kagome smiled.

 

“Yeah the little runt can do something.” Inuyasha smiled. He was proud of his son. “We should do something for him.”

 

“I was just about to say that.” Kagome said. “What should we do?”

 

“Let's just ask him.” Inuyasha said. “It will probably be something annoying.”

 

“You'll enjoy it.” Kagome giggled. “What do we do now?”

 

Inuyasha and Kagome stepped into the elevator. “Kagome-sama?”

 

Kagome turned around in the elevator. The back corner of the elevator was where the voice came from. “Nami?” Kagome recognized her immediately. “What are you doing here?”

 

“My father works here. I was visiting him for lunch.” Nami smiled.

 

“Oh.” Kagome said. “Oh this is Inuyasha. Inuyasha this is Nami, the young miko I trained that one afternoon.”

 

“Nice to meet you Inuyasha-sama.” Nami said. “Are you a friend?”

 

“I'm her husband and mate.” Inuyasha said gruffly.

 

“I see.” Nami took a step back. “What brings you here?”

 

“Inuyasha works here. We had an accident at home.” Kagome explained.

 

“More like assault.” Inuyasha growled lightly.

 

Kagome slapped a hand over his mouth and smiled at Nami. “Well this is our floor. I'll see you some other time Nami!” Kagome dragged Inuyasha out of the elevator by his ear.

 

“That really hurts you know! My ears are sensitive!” Inuyasha snapped.

 

“I'm aware of that. Baka, Nami isn't comfortable around youkai and you didn't help muchc.” Kagome scolded.

 

“Like I care. She needs to get used to it. There are youkai everywhere.” Inuyasha said. “This isn't our floor. This is the fifth floor.”

 

“I know. We'll wait for the next elevator.” Kagome crossed her arms.

 

“I don't think so.” Inuyasha picked Kagome up and knocked on one of the office doors.

 

“Can I help you Inuyasha-sama?” The person inside asked.

 

“No, just passing through Yukito.” Inuyasha walked over to the window and opened it. “Sorry for bothering you. We're just taking a short cut.”

 

Inuyasha gracefully landed on the ground. His ears hurt from Kagome's scream but he tried to bear with it. He set Kagome down on the ground. Everyone in the area gasped as they heard the scream. They all stared now whispering to each other. Inuyasha chuckled at they way Kagome looked and the way everyone stared.

 

“Don't do that!” Kagome shouted. Then she realized that everyone was looking at them. She smiled nervously and grabbed his hand, running off to the car.

 

“You're the one who got off the elevator early.” Inuyasha smirked. They both got in the car. “What do you want to eat for lunch?”

 

“How about we call Sango and Miroku. Have them come meet us somewhere with Shippo and Inuko. Treat them to lunch as thanks for babysitting.” Kagome said.

 

“Fine.” Inuyasha sighed. He did want to spend time with her alone but with what happened he didn't want to be separated from his kids for too long.

Sorry the chapter is short. I wanted to get this chapter out because I'm leaving on vacation soon for two weeks. In that time, unfortunately I won't be able to write. Not that I know of anyway. It's a family vacation and I'm forced to spend it with them this time instead of going off alone like I usually do. I hope you like this chapter! Let me know what you think!
