Unsettling Information

 

“Oh come on!” Kagome shouted. “It's been three days! I'm fine. You could at least let me walk around for a little bit! I'll go insane if I have to keep sitting here. It's already been four days since the doctor said I could get up!”

 

“Until he comes here to check on you, you're not getting up at all!” Inuyasha shouted back.

 

“It's not my fault that the doctor decided to go on vacation! At least take me to the hospital to get me checked out then!”

 

“After what happened the last time we were there? They're lucky I don't sue their asses for what happened!” Inuyasha growled.

 

Kagome sighed. They have had this same fight every day since she first got home. The first couple of day she could understand he wouldn't let her get up but after the third day was when she became very annoyed. The doctor had said she could get up in about three days but Inuyasha refused to let her go anywhere. She couldn't even walk to the bathroom!

 

One night she had tried to get up to go outside. She'd hurt her side one night when she sat up suddenly from the reoccurring dream she'd been having. Luckily Inuyasha hadn't woken up but he did later when she tried to sneak out. She made it to the door before falling down with the throbbing pain in her side. Inuyasha heard the thunk and was at her side before she even noticed he got up.

 

“I just want to go outside. I'm sick of sitting here doing nothing. I'm going to waste away if I sit here any longer.” Kagome said softly. “It's the same with you. When you're injured you don't like sitting in one place.”

 

“I'll take you outside on one condition. You let me know when you want to come back inside. Don't be stupid and do it yourself.” Inuyasha sat on the edge of the bed.

 

Kagome sighed. This was about all she was going to get for a while. “Fine, I promise.” She finally agreed.

 

“Shippo will go out with you.” Inuyasha said as he gently picked her up.

 

“Now I have a babysitter?” She said sarcastically.

 

“No, I'm taking Inuko in for his check up. You know how Shippo hates hospitals.” Inuyasha said. He turned his head hearing Inuko crying.

 

“Oh that's right. His check up is in an hour isn't it?” Kagome asked.

 

“Yeah, Inuko's crying. I'll bring you in before I leave. Call me if you want to leave before that.” Inuyasha said seriously.

 

“Hai.” Kagome smiled weakly. Oh how she hated being in this situation. Before she could go cursing her husband for being overprotective Shippo walked outside and sat down on the chair next to her.

 

“Okaa-san are you ok? Do you need anything?” He asked with concern.

 

“Did Inuyasha put you up to this?” Kagome asked.

 

“No, he just told me to make sure you don't get up.” Shippo smiled. “I brought you a blanket!”

 

“Thanks Shippo.” Kagome took it and laid it across her lap. It was a little chilly outside. “So I take it Sango is coming over?”

 

“Hai! Otou-san had me go over there to ask her!” Shippo said excitedly. “She's getting dressed and then she's going to come over.”

 

“Maybe she'll let me get up and walk around for a bit.” Kagome murmured. “I'm sure you won't.”

 

“Nope!” Shippo crossed his arms.

 

“Your becoming more like Inuyasha every day.” Kagome giggled. “What do you want to do while Inuyasha and Inuko are out?”

 

“Hmm we could go inside and watch a movie!” Shippo stood up. “Otou-san bought some new ones. He said it was because you might get bored and a movie would stop you from getting up.”

 

“He would say that.” Kagome narrowed her eyes at the door.

 

Inuyasha walked outside with them. He had Inuko in his arms. “We're leaving sooner than we're supposed to. The doctor got a cancellation so he can see Inuko now. Sango's already here.” He could hear the door opening.

 

“Hi Kagome. How are you feeling?” She asked.

 

“Fine, I'd be better but Inuyasha won't let me walk around.” Kagome gently hit him.

 

“We've had that argument far too many times already. I have to get going.” Inuyasha said. “Can you hold Inuko while I carry Kagome back to the room?”

 

“Sure.” Sango said and took Inuko into her arms. “His outfit is so cute.”

 

Inuko was wearing a little red hakama and baggy pants. “Since Inuyasha won't let me up I've been spending all of his money.” Kagome grabbed his ear.

 

“My ears are sensitive!” Inuyasha growled lightly after putting her onto the bed.

 

“I'm aware of that.” Kagome crossed her arms. Once again she was stuck in her bed. Sango handed Inuko to Kagome so she could say goodbye. She kissed him on the forehead and made sure his outfit was aligned right. Inuyasha bent down to kiss her and then took Inuko into his arms.

 

“We'll be back later.” Inuyasha waved.

 

“I take it he's driving you crazy?” Sango asked.

 

“What else does he do?” Kagome asked. “The doctor is on vacation so he can't give me a check up and say I can get up yet. Inuyasha refuses to let me go to the hospital for a check up because of what happened. So I'm stuck in bed. Unless you want to let me walk around.”

 

“I would but then Inuyasha's wrath is much scarier.” Sango smiled. “Sorry.”

 

“It's ok. I wouldn't want him to try and kill you when it was me who persuaded you to do it.” Kagome rolled her eyes. “I'm going to die in this bed.”

 

“You'll be fine. Do you need anything?” Sango asked.

 

“I'm fine. Shippo and I were going to watch a movie.” Kagome said.

 

“I'll go get the movie!” Shippo ran out of the room.

 

“I'll go make some popcorn and get some drinks.” Sango said.

A half an hour after the movie was finished Inuyasha returned home with Inuko. Sango said goodbye to everyone and left to go back to her house.

 

“So how was his checkup?” Kagome asked as she changed his diaper from the bed.

 

“He's fine. Perfectly healthy.” Inuyasha picked up a sleeping Shippo. “I'm going to put him in his room.”

 

“Alright.” Kagome finished changing his diaper and leaned down to blow on his tummy causing him to giggle. She repeated the action and stopped when she felt a strange aura. Inuyasha immediately ran back into the room with Shippo. He was rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.

 

“What's goi-?” Shippo began to ask but Inuyasha put a hand over his mouth.

 

The wall of their room was busted open. Inuyasha grabbed Kagome and sat her on the ground and pulled up the mattress shielding them from the pieces of wood that were being blown at them. Once the explosion subsided, Inuyasha let the mattress fall back onto the bed. He made sure that everyone was okay before standing up.

 

“It's Nami.” He growled.

 

“Nice nose dog!” Nami narrowed her eyes at Kagome. “I see your recovering well.”

 

“Nami, you don't have to do this.” Kagome stood up with Inuko in her arms.

 

“Yes, I do. I need my revenge. You killed the man I loved!” She shouted.

 

“He was evil!” Kagome shouted back.

 

“NO! He wasn't. He was the only one that was kind to me! My own family hated me, he showed me kindness.” Tears came from Nami's eyes. Her right fist began glowing blue.

 

“How? How do you have so much power?” Kagome asked.

 

“I masked half of my power so I would seem weak. I gained some of Naraku's power.” Nami said. She lifted up her shirt and around her belly button was a spider tattoo. “It's all I have left of him. He had a mark on his back. It was a sign of his power.”

 

“You! You hurt my mate!” Inuyasha growled violently and jumped towards Nami.

 

Nami just raised her fist and shot some purifying energy at him. He fell back onto the ground once he was hit. “It doesn't matter how powerful you are. Miko powers can stop you. You are only a hanyou after all.”

 

“I won't let you hurt him.” Kagome narrowed her eyes. “Your problem is with me, not him.”

 

“It's only fair that you have something taken away from you too!” Nami screamed. She reached into her jacket pocket and pulled out the same gun she'd shot Kagome with a while ago.

 

Instead of shooting her she grabbed her head and fell on her knees. She started screaming and shaking. Finally she stopped and fell to the ground, unconscious.

 

Inuyasha stood up and walked over to her. “Is she dead?” Kagome asked.

 

“No, she's just passed out.” Inuyasha said confused about what just happened.

 

“I'm going to call the cops.” Kagome grabbed the phone.

Kagome and Inuyasha were at the police station filling out a report. Inuyasha was upset because Kagome was in one of the interrogating rooms alone giving her side of the story. They'd called Sango and Miroku to watch the kids. Inuyasha was just waiting for Kagome to be done when his cell phone rang.

 

“What?” He said angrily.

 

“Your phone greeting could be nicer.”

 

“What the hell do you want Sesshomaru? I'm not in the mood.” Inuyasha said.

 

“I thought you'd like to know about Nami.” Sesshomaru said.

 

“We know about her. She just tried to kill Kagome again. We're at the police station right now.”

 

“Really? Well I'm sure there's more to the story. Call me when you're done. I'll explain what I've found out over dinner.” Sesshomaru said and hung up.

 

“Bastard. Could've told me now.” Inuyasha muttered as he put the phone back in his pocket. The door to the room Kagome was in opened and he stood up rushing to her side. He looked at the policeman. “What's happening to the girl?”

 

“Once she wakes up we'll ask her a couple of questions. We'll call you as soon as we have an idea of what's going to happen to her. We have your home, work, and cell phone number so we should be able to reach you.” The policeman said.

 

“That bitch should be put behind bars for life.” Inuyasha narrowed his eyes. He grabbed Kagome's hand and led her outside to the car.

 

“So your letting me walk?” Kagome asked.

 

“I don't want you to but after what happened I don't want to piss you off.” Inuyasha explained. “Sesshomaru has some information on Nami. He wants to meet us for dinner to explain.”

 

“Alright.” Kagome sighed as she got in the car. She wished she could live a normal life. Or at least one with a little less chaos...

“So what did you find out about Nami?” Sesshomaru asked.

 

“She was in love with Naraku and is angry with me for taking him away.” Kagome said.

 

“You didn't take him away. He followed you around like a stalker!” Inuyasha said. “She should be mad at me. I'm the one who killed him.”

 

“Well she's not as straightforward as she seems.” Sesshomaru said.

 

“What do you mean?” Kagome asked.

 

“She is mentally unstable. For the last year or so she was in a mental institution. She was diagnosed with borderline personality. I don't know what else since all records are supposed to be confidential.” Sesshomaru explained.

 

“So she's crazy.” Inuyasha said.

 

“Inuyasha! That's rude!” Kagome hit him.

 

“She just tried to kill you! She doesn't deserve any kindness!” Inuyasha shouted back. He slammed his fist on the table. “Sorry Sesshomaru we're leaving.”

 

Sesshomaru waved him off. He kind of expected this would happen, which was why he was already having Rin join him. He was just waiting for her to arrive. “Take warning. There's still not a lot we know about her.”

 

“Thanks.” Inuyasha said gruffly. He picked Kagome up and left.

Inuyasha set Kagome on the bed and was about to leave the room. Kagome grabbed his shirt and pulled him onto the bed. She jumped over him to stop him from moving. “What's wrong?” She asked.

 

“Nothing.” Inuyasha said and gently moved Kagome off of him.

 

She grabbed onto his arm. “There's something wrong baka now tell me!” She shouted.

 

“You're being nice to someone who's trying to kill you!”

 

“That's why you're mad?” Kagome pulled him back onto the bed. “I can't help it, you know that.”

 

“I know! But you almost died! Twice!” Inuyasha embraced her. “I can't help but be worried.”

 

“I'll be fine.” She hugged him back. “I have you anyway.”

 

“Baka...” Inuyasha said softly and kissed her.
