Chapter 9
Everyone raced through the halls to their first class when the bell had rung, signaling that they had one minute left to get to class before they were late. It was Monday, the first day back to school since the fire. There were still some painters in the hall, finishing up a few touches. Kagome was sitting in her normal seat by the window, talking to her lab partner Brittany. They were discussing their project that was due in two weeks. " okay so how about after school today we can meet in the library, and finish putting the model together? This time I brought my part of the things" said Brittany. "um..sure, I would just have to run to the corner store during lunch and pick up the rest of my items." Kagome said.
Just then the last bell rang "BBBRRRIIIINNNNGGG". Two boys had walked in late saying that they were lucky the teacher wasn't there yet, in which case got Kagome thinking, 'I wonder where Inuyasha is, it's not like him to be late to class' she thought. As if on cue, Inuyasha came walking in with a female student behind him. She must have been new because Kagome had never seen her before. She leaned over to Brittany and asked " Hey Britt, do you know who she is?" "not a clue, she must be new" Brittany replied. "must be".
Inuyasha turned around to the girl and pointed her out to an empty lab table right next to Kagome and Brittany's. The girl replied with a wink and a soft 'thank you'. She had long, jet black hair the reached down to her lower back, and it was pulled back into a low ponytail. She had dark brown eyes and was maybe an inch taller than Kagome. The girl walked over to the desk, swaying her hips back an forth, which caught all of the guys attention. Right as she got to her desk, she 'accidently' dropped her pen on the foor. She bent over to pick it up, giving all the guys a good view of her cheeks, of course she would, her skirt was lower then the other girls skirts, and her top was way to tight, you were definetly able to tell that she wasn't wearing a bra. "what a slut" said Kagome, just barley above a whisper, but enough for Brittany to hearand nod her head in aggrement.
"okay class, sorry i'm late, I had a quick staff meeting to go to. Everyone, this is Kikyo Mousashi, she is new here. So I hope that you all show her respect and treat as you would want to be treated." Inuyasha announced. With that said, he walked up to the chalk board and started to write down the days assignment.
Meanwhile, Kagome did not take her eyes off of the new girl for a second. She noticed how the Kikyo kept looking at Inuyasha with hungry eyes ' ohhhh she better not be looking at him like that' she thought angrly to herself. The whole classtime Kagome couldn't concentrate on her work, she kept thinking about how Kikyo was looking at Inuyasha. She would eye him up and down with a smirk on her face, it looked like she was getting a little turned on just by looking at him. That made Kagome steam up with anger. Kagome was so furious that she made a sound almost close to a growl, that caught her friends attention. "hey Kags you okay?"Brittany asked with a hint of concern in her voice. Inuyasha looked up from his work, when he heard the question. "Yeah I'm fine, just...frustrated is all, ya know with everything going on and all" she lied. "oh okay, just checking" she replied back.
When class was over everyone was up and racing out the door,except for Kagome who stayed behind, Pretending to slowly put her things away. After making sure the classroom was cleared out and half way down the hall way, Inuyasha went up and closed the door behind them and walked over to Kagome, sitting on her desk. "Hey you okay?" he asked crossing his arms over his chest, giving her a concerned look. "no" she said sadly still putting her things away.
"whats wrong?"he said
"it's that new girl" she replied a little miffed
"Kikyo? what about her? do you know her from somewhere?"
"No it's just that....the way that she was looking at you, like she was enjoying the sight of you"
"Well I have been told that I was handsome"he said joking
"thats not the point, it's just that, I'm afraid that she'll try and pull something, and go a little too far" she said with con vern and worry in her voice.
"Kagome I'm telling you this once and I'm telling you now so you better listen." he said in a firm voice. That caught her attention real good. She stopped her packing and looked up into his eyes, hoping that whatever he said would ease her worry.
"nothing is going to happen between me and Kikyo, you are the only one for me, and no one is going to change that, not the Principle, the police, or even the President of the United States, you are stuck with me, no matter what, even if I have to take a giant bottle of super glue and glue us together" he said.
Kagome looked at him, a little teary eyed. Hearing this from him made her feel a whole lot better. Somehow she knew that what Inuyasha just said was true. No one was gonna pull them apart, not even that damned bitch Kikyo. Inuyasha pulled her into a tight and yet loving embrace, planting a soft kiss on her forehead.
"I care for you to much Kagome to let anyone taker you away from me, or even hurt you in any way, both emotionally and physically. You are my world." he whispered gently into her ear.Suddenly all the worry and fear she had in the world came crashing down, washing away at hearing those words. She knew she was safe with him, she knew that being right there, in his arms, was where she belonged, he was her life, her world, .....her hero, the one she knew she would spend the rest of her life with.
The couple just sat there, enjoying the love and comfort, and even warmth that the two were giving each......unaware of the eyes that were watching them from the window on the classroom door.
