Sayuri looked at Kohaku and asked, "Will you go and bring water for Ah-Un?"
"Yes."
Sayuri nodded and then turned to look back at the Wind Sorceress's form. She had taken earth from one of Naraku's deserted
palaces and some purified miasma. Mixing this with clay, she had fashioned an exact copy of Kagura by memory. Now she took
a breath and prepared to raise her to life. Drawing on her power, she began to call out the spell that had to be used to
mold the body with the wind and her spirit. Her power surrounded the one-room house.

Outside Zephimaru stood beside Ah-Un as he watched the lad bring a bucket of water for the two-headed dragon. He, the boy
and the youkai looked up when Sayuri's barrier suddenly surrounded the building.
Inside, the body was encased by a cocoon of light that held the scent of an ocean breeze and sparkled with the light of a
pure soul. Then the cocoon vanished as did the barrier.
Zephimaru looked at the boy who looked back at him and then they both entered the house. They found Sayuri down on one
knee and another young woman sitting up on a narrow futon.

Sayuri looked at Kagura and Kagura at Sayuri. The wind witch found her voice first. She asked, "Why did you save me?"
Sayuri answered, "I could not let you know only what it felt to be hurt. I wanted you to know how it felt to love, to be
loved and to have the choice to live as you did not the last time. Kagura of the wind, will you allow me to show you what
a life lived well can be?"
Kagura nodded.

Zephimaru walked to Sayuri's side and helped her over to the only empty bed. There he laid her down and told the boy to
watch her. He went to go find food.

Kohaku and Kagura avoided looking at each other at first. Then they slowly let their glances meet. Both were aware that
Sayuri had every right to wish them dead. They both knew of Kagome's pure heart and then they realized something. "Her
soul is just like Kagome's," said Kagura. She looked over at Kanna then. She saw the one who was her little sister lay
as though she were sleeping still. They did not understand why this one would save them.

Zephimaru chased a young buck for a time before bringing it down. On his way back, he also caught several fish. As he
walked, he thought of what he had seen. He had many questions he would ask this young woman. For now, he knew he needed
to see to her. Arriving back at the place, he gutted the fish and started cooking them. The buck he cut into chunks of
raw meat for himself and the dragon. Though they did not eat it all right then.

Sayuri woke as the scent of cooked meat permeated the building. She saw it was evening and knew she had enough time to eat
and drink before it would be time to concentrate on bringing Kanna to life. She ate and drank her fill. Then she set out
the things that she needed.
Kohaku and Kagura watched her set out seven items. They were: a pearl lit like the stars, a portion of her spirit held in
the stone cup of Buddha, the jeweled sprig, a song of love, tears of joy, a strand of lifaea and a wish for life. They were
confused as to what each of the purpose of each item. They knew this young woman was not the type to do something without
a reason. It was Kagura that asked, "What will you do with those things?"
Sayuri did not answer. She stepped back to look at the items. She moved back to get another drink of water. Then she
picked up the strand of lifea. Then she twined with it the song of love. The golden thread was lovely next to the ivory
one. This was dipped in the tears of joy. Next, she added a wish for life and it was spun together.
Kohaku and Kagura was amazed at the beauty of the emerged thread. It sparkled and shone. Diamond white and crystal clear,
it had a special feel to it. The wind witch could not help it. She reached out to touch it and felt a ripple in her soul.
She thought of Kanna. Moving to kneel at her side, the wind witch took up the hand of her sister in hers.
Sayuri smiled at her. "Kagura, keep holding her hand. Kohaku, stand by her. I must go into the void. Her soul resides
there. I will return and her life shall be lived as it was meant to be."
Kagura nodded.
Sayuri took hold of the free hand. Closing her eyes, she focused her powers. Then before the bed, an abyss was opened.
She shed her cloak of skin and descended within.

Zephimaru caught the suddenly skin-and-bone form of his new sister's soul twin. He sat near the bed and placed her head
in his lap.
