Nisayuri waited. She was looking for the sign that Kikyou's control potion was weakened so that her control over the slayer could be broken. She saw Sango was fighting.
Inside Sango, her pain and anger was fighting one another. She knew Kagome. She trusted Kagome. This made it hard for her to understand what she had seen.
Mother Higurashi watched silently.
Kagura gripped her fan. She was having much trouble here. Before, the choice was not hers to make. Now she felt fully impatient with the slayer. It was then she felt a hand on her shoulder. Looking back behind her, she saw a woman dressed in waters.
Water said, "Watch, Kagura. Just watch." Then the woman vanished.
Nisayuri just watched Sango.
Sango then began to cry. Her words were clearly heard despite the sobs mixed with them. "It makes no sense. Kagome would never kill anyone. Her heart is too kind. And yet . .it was her I saw."
Nisayuri smiled. This is what she'd been waiting for. This was the sign she wanted. She knelt before the slayer and she gently said, "Recall Naraku's method with Inuyasha and Kikyou. Let that help you through this. Now you too must sleep."
Sango nodded and went to sleep.
Soon all in the house slumbered.

The next day Sayuri woke at her normal time and going down to the kitchen, found Mother Higurashi feeding Nisayuri and Souta.
Nisayuri looked up first and greeted Sayuri. "Souta and I will pass the word."
Sayuri nodded. "Guid. Tell them class will be tomorrow." She looked up at her adopted mother and smiled. "Thank you," she said. Then picking up the cup of tea before her, she drank it.
The next one to enter was Sango who to everyone's surprise was carrying Kanna. She nodded to each one and then gave the babe to Sayuri after she set the empty cup then. She sat beside her lady and asked, "What do we do today?"
"You and I will acquaint ourselves with the streets," said Sayuri. "Kagura may want to go with us, but then she may not."
"Why is that?"
"Morning, Kagura. It is because as a demon your senses are sharper than a normal human's. I have trouble because of that effect on Kyuubi. Nisayuri is used to it and so that helps me some. Do you wish to join us?"
"Hai."
Sayuri nodded. Looking at Mother Higurashi, she queried, "Have you a stroller?"
"Stroller, bottle and diapers. The money you left is in my room. It is quite a bit."

Two hours later, Sayuri left the shrine accompanied by Sango and Kagura. She pushed Kanna who sat in a stroller. They first looked at that a baby would need. They then bought several yards of different cloth for Sayuri to make Kanna's clothing. Sayuri took note of several dresses that she thought to put together. She also planned to make Kagura several special kimonos.

Back at the shrine, Mother Higurashi prepared to get what Kagome had asked for. She as just so glad to hear her daughter was well. She prayed that both girls would be mightily blessed. She bought and packed what Kagome wanted. Some of the items surprised her though. These were things like thread, buttons, clasps and embroidery tools. Boxes of tea, Ramen cups, a book of recipes.

Again Sayuri retired after supper. This time it was in preparation for the next day. She slept well. Rising, she dressed in the handmade Tae Kwon do outfit she had. As a saseong, hers alone had the black belt with a raised black stripe. She took the hair closest to her nape and skillfully braided it into a laurel leaf crown. The rest hung loose as it was far too thick and long for her to put it all on her head. She went down to the gym which they borrowed for classes. She had left early enough that when 4:00 came followed by her students, she was warmed up herself. She had a gallon of iced gatorade that would keep until time for the first break.
"Teacher, Teacher," came the voices of the children. They swarmed around the sensei they had not seen for so long.
Sayuri smiled and returned the greetings. Then she said, "Before the lesson, I want to see what all you know. Everybody, line up."
Instantly the thirty children lined up. Not all of them were in the correct classes, but Sayuri would correct that. She had made her classes' belts. She watched them and after all thirty had shown their skills, passed out the new belts.

Outside the gym, Kagura was being led by Souta along with a group of eight men who had taught the thirty in her absense. The wind witch was very aware of the glances from the men. Her fingers gripped her fan. She was just itching to hit them over the head. However, her companion took hold of her hand. She looked down at the little boy. She was surprised but then a smile covered her face.
Sayuri glanced up when the door opened. She told the class to go get some gatorade. Then she met her guests. Her sister and adopted nephew felt the warmth. The strangers were met with a genuine welcome that had a cautiousness embroidered into it.
The eight men were masters of various low ranks. The one thing they had in common was that they judged this female as out of place.
Sayuri knew this instantly but chose to ignore it. She asked, "To what do I owe this visit?"
"We have taught your students during your absense. During that time, we heard much of this great teacher who lived far away. We came to meet such a sensei."
Sayuri nodded and then point-blank queried, "Are you disappointed?"
"We are. Females do not belong in this type of environment," answered the spokeman. He cast his gaze about the gym and frowned at the sight of several girls there. He spoke to the boys and lectured them gender appropriate activities.
Sayuri closed her eyes and schooled her features. Inside the confines of her spirit, a battle was occurring. Her eyes snapped open when the men tried to chase the girls away. She blocked the door herself. "These are my students. Sirs, you have no right to dictate who is and who isn't allowed in this sport. What would you say to a girl who has no one that will protect her? This girl was four years old and on her own. Living in her home village where she was not only an outcast but had to live with daily attacks on her life from the very grownups that were normally expected to care for her. So much pain. There was so much pain. Being doused in oil and set on fire. Arms and legs broken." The sorrow heard in Sayuri's words was palpable to all her listeners. However, the reactions were very different. The teachers looked apathetic. Her older students looked angry, first at the ones that did this and then at the teachers that had taught them. They walkhed to comfort their master. "Tell us, saseong, who was she? Why is her story so touching for you?"
"The memories never grow easier for me. Knowing why they did this, knowing that even as an innocent, I suffered for another's decision."
"You, Sensei? You were that girl?"
"Impossible. No one as strong as you claim to be could ever be that weak," scoffed one of the eight.
Sayuri's eyes shot to the men before her. An icy calmness surrounded her. "I see you require a lesson. Very well. Students, formal line up."
