Author's Notes:A lot of you seem to want me to use the original Japanese attacks. The only reason I put the English ones on is because I expect a lot of fans who've only seen the dubbed to read this, so I'm keeping it simple for them. I like the names of the Japanese attacks better too, but, I'm trying to please all my fans, not just some, so, sorry, the English names are probably staying. I will still use the Japanese spellings for the characters that they changed the names of, such as Kirara, and Shippou, and the Tessaiga, but I think I should leave the English attack names. Sorry.

Chapter Seven:Showdown of the fates



Inu-Yasha leapt at Sesshoumaru, slashing the Tessaiga for his brother's right arm, that being the only one the full Youkai still had. "I will not let you take this blade from me again, Sesshoumaru!!! No matter what you won't gain this blade ever again!" Inu-Yasha shouted as he madly slashed at his brother with the blade, doing his best to try and take the full Youkai down. But, regardless... both of the brothers knew who was faster, and it wasn't Inu-Yasha.

Sesshoumaru quickly pulled the blade that was at his left side and struck the Tessaiga with it, putting his strength into it and knocking Inu-Yasha back against Kagome's house. The Hanyou found himself impacted deep into the boards of the house, nearly landing back in the living room, but didn't go fully through the house. "So, dear, little brother... will you surrender the Tessaiga to me now..?" Sesshoumaru asked with a classic smile, knowing he could easily take Inu-Yasha's life right here and now.

But, the Hanyou slowly stood up and stared at his half brother. "No...because I know you'll just kill people with this sword. And...I don't think... our Father.. would have wanted that. This sword was left to me for a reason, Sesshoumaru... don't you know that? Looks like I was the favorite.. I remember some of Dad, now. You weren't the favorite.. and because of that you hated me. You thought Dad would hate me because I was...'Hanyou scum' but he didn't. Dad loved me more... and you just want to kill me because suddenly, when I was born...Sesshoumaru was second best. But.. even if I die.. you'll never be the one Dad cared for more.." Inu-Yasha said smirking. Though he was injured, Inu-Yasha could easily pull off a nice mind game or two. "Face it.. you hate me because Dad didn't.."

"Shut up.." Sesshoumaru said calmly, though the talk had gotten to him. Inu-Yasha was smarter than he looked. He knew the truth and he knew how to mess with Sesshoumaru.

"Why, 'Dear', brother? Did I say something to pain that icy heart of your's..?" Inu-Yasha asked smirking. "Fine.. we'll play your game then..." Inu-Yasha said and leapt forward once more, pushing off his bare feet from the tile ground of the Shrine home and slashing downward at his brother with the Tessaiga, only to once more make contact with the blade Sesshoumaru was wielding, but, broke through the weak blade and slashed against Sesshoumaru's chest!

"Ugh...nice hit, little brother...but you won't win. I will take the blade from your hand, whether you're alive when I do it or not.." Sesshoumaru said and ran swiftly and silently toward Inu-Yasha, slashing at his younger brother with his claws, but, the swift Hanyou managed to get away and lift Tessaiga to block. "Ugh...die, Hanyou.."

"Not a chance..Youkai.." Inu-Yasha said smirking, then, his vision changed for a moment and Inu-Yasha caught sight of something. It was his brother's Aura clashing with his own. 'What the...is this a way to unleash Tessaiga's true power...' he wondered to himself, and could literally smell the scent of the two aura's clashing against the wind. 'Yes.. it all makes sense. If I strike at the exact right moment.. then I'll be able to reveal Tessaiga's real power!' Inu-Yasha realized. Leaping into the air, Inu-Yasha drew Tessaiga behind his back and over his head, then slashed downward toward his elder brother. "This ends here, Sesshoumaru! I won't let you win, not now, not ever!" he yelled, and the blade seemed to take over. "Kaze.. no..KIZU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Inu-Yasha screamed as he attacked. (AN:Happy gang? I used a Japanese attack name. I just can't STAND the name Wind Scar for his attack..)

At this time, Kagome had made her way downstairs, after hearing the thud against the house, and she saw Inu-Yasha fighting Sesshoumaru. "Oh no.. he followed us through.. but how..?" the fifteen year old girl questioned in shock. "Inu-Yasha... be careful.." she said softly, remembering the other battles Inu-Yasha had with Sesshoumaru. But this time it was different.

As Inu-Yasha's Tessaiga slashed down on Sesshoumaru, the look the Youkai gave off was all but priceless. Fear. True fear of his brother was in Sesshoumaru's eyes as the Kaze no Kizu connected with him, flinging him back and cracking the small bit of armor that lay across his chest. "Damn you, Hanyou.." Sesshoumaru called weakly as he looked at his chest. Blood. His blood. "No one.. has ever made me... bleed before..."

"If you don't get lost more than you bleeding will happen!" Inu-Yasha yelled, sniffing the air and smelling Kagome. 'Kagome.. please just get out of here... if he sees you you're in danger..' Inu-Yasha thought to himself.

"....you would show me pity now..?" Sesshoumaru questioned to his brother, holding his bleeding chest.

"...unlike you, I have a soul. You know now I'm more powerful than you'll ever be, so just get lost.." Inu-Yasha grunted, still ready to attack again with the Tessaiga. "You need to realize... there's more than just terrorizing humans in life. Maybe you think our Father was a fool for falling in love with one of them... but they're no different than us..." Inu-Yasha said, thinking of Kagome, knowing she was listening to this. "It's just important to know.. that maybe life has a meaning, Sesshoumaru. If you realized that... you wouldn't be after this dumb sword."

"...you are as disgusting as our Father..." Sesshoumaru said simply.

"Then get out of my face..you'll never learn what's important, you bastard!" Inu-Yasha yelled, drawing his sword up again and preparing to attack if Sesshoumaru didn't leave. "Get your sorry ass back in that well, or I'm going to put you there in little pieces.."

"...would it matter anyway...? Isn't that what you want to do to me, Hanyou? Destroy me..? Kill me?" Sesshoumaru questioned. The Youkai almost felt like death now. He'd received the ultimate humiliation. A Youkai, beaten, by a Hanyou. Just like all the others Inu-Yasha had killed, but one worse, Inu-Yasha had shown him mercy. That was unforgivable. "Just kill me, as you have all the other Youkai."

"You'll never understand, you fool..." Inu-Yasha muttered and just walked forward. "Leave. Go back to your own time, and if I ever see you again.. I'll do what you asked and kill you." Inu-Yasha said simply.

"...you pity me... I hate you for that..." Sesshoumaru said, turning away from his younger brother and heading toward the well. "It isn't over, Inu-Yasha.. your speeches have not changed my heart..."

"...whatever..." Inu-Yasha said, sheathing the Tessaiga to his side. Inu-Yasha carefully watched as Sesshoumaru moved down the well, then followed to make sure the Youkai had gone down and disappeared. When Inu-Yasha peered down, the Hanyou was taken by surprise as Sesshoumaru leapt up and slashed Inu-Yasha across the cheek with his claws, knocking him down and onto the ground.

"...you think I would give up so easily..?" Sesshoumaru asked. "You are more a fool than I ever could have imagined..."

"Damn you...I should have never shown you pity!" Inu-Yasha yelled, unsheathing the Tessaiga and leaping at his brother, slashing him across his exposed, already bleeding chest once more. "Now..go..to..HELL!!!!" Inu-Yasha screamed as he drove the Tessaiga deep through the right side of Sesshoumaru's chest, then lifted him up with the blade. "I never want to see you again...never..." Inu-Yasha said, lowering the blade, then kicking Sesshoumaru back into the well.

As Sesshoumaru fell, he felt...strange. This time he really was beaten, and even still Inu-Yasha hadn't killed him. "Why would you show me mercy...?" he asked as Sesshoumaru landed onto his back on the bottom of the well, and back into the Warring States era. Climbing weakly up Sesshoumaru found Jyaken there waiting for him. "Jyaken... the quest to try and take the Tessaiga.. is over.. we will not hunt it ever again.." the full Youkai said weakly as he collapsed forward.

"M'lord?! Are ye all right, m'lord?!?!" the follower of Sesshoumaru asked frantically, as just then a small girl approached the two.

"Oh, my, are you okay mister!?" the young girl asked as she bent down to the fallen Youkai.

"Who...are you..?" Sesshoumaru asked weakly.

She smiled innocently. "I'm Rin, who're you?" (A/N:Had to add Rin to the story, even if only for one paragraph!)

"I'm...Sesshoumaru.." the youkai said as he passed out.

*Common Era, Kagome's home.*

"Inu-Yasha.. are you okay..?" Kagome asked as she moved to Inu-Yasha, inspecting his cut face.

"I'm fine, Kagome." Inu-Yasha said, smiling weakly. "I just.. wish he hadn't come. But.. then.. other Youkai will come.. as long as that jewel exists.." he said, meaning the Shikon No Tama.

"I know.. but.. we can't destroy it." Kagome stated, taking the jewel from her pajama pants pocket.

"No.. but, we could wish it away.." Inu-Yasha stated, jabbing Tessaiga into the ground as he held it in his right hand.

"..you want to be Youkai still..don't you?" she asked, placing the Shikon no Tama in Inu-Yasha's left hand.

"No. I want..to be human." He told her. "I want to be able to go out with you, in daylight, and be able to do whatever I want. I want to be a human being, for you."

Before Kagome could ever respond, the jewel began glowing slowly in the Hanyou's hand, brightening slowly and then, as if responding to Inu-Yasha's desires, the Hanyou's hair slowly become black. His golden eyes dulling, though not much, to a golden brown. His dog ears faded while human ones grew on his head. Finally, the claws which he'd always had became nothing but normal human nails. "...it worked.." he said, smiling. But, he looked to the Tessaiga. It remained a fang. "Nani..?" he questioned as he lifted it, and, in fact, it remained a fang, and was easy for him to lift! "Then.. two parts of my wish came true.. now for the third.." he said, looking at his left hand which he'd closed. Opening it slowly, the Shikon no Tama was gone.

"Inu-Yasha.. what did you wish..?" Kagome asked, looking at Inu-Yasha blinking as she noticed the scar on his face was gone.

"I wished to be human.. and for the Shikon no Tama to never exist again, and for the souls in it to be free... but I also wished to still be able to protect you. So..I can still wield Tessaiga at it's full strength, as a human, and I have my demon strength and senses." he said, sheathing the blade, then unsheathing it, making it the fang, just to make sure before he sheathed it for good. "Now.. we can be together.. anywhere, Kagome." Inu-Yasha said, smiling as he leaned down and kissed his lover softly on her lips.

Kagome kissed Inu-Yasha back, and moved her arms around him as the lips parted. "Inu-Yasha.. I don't deserve you. You do so much to make me happy...and I probably make you miserable.."

"Oh stop.. you make me happier than anyone ever could.. which is why I do all this for you." Inu-Yasha said. "Anything to see you happy.."

Kagome blushed. "Ai shiteru, Inu-Yasha."

"Ai shiteru, Kagome" Inu-Yasha said back. "Now let's go back to bed... you have class tommorow." he said simply, taking her hand and walking back into the house with her. "Your Grandpa's going to hit me after he sees the wall..." he muttered.

"And I'll hit him back.." Kagome said, kissing Inu-Yasha's cheek as the two walked into her room and laid back down.

Another successful chapter. Inu-Yasha, now human, is still able to wield the Tessaiga, and the Shikon no Tama is no more. But.. is everything really over? I doubt it...
