Chapter Eight:Can't get you outta my mind



Kagome sat at her school desk and smiled happily as she listened to the lesson being taught. She was all smiles today and she just couldn't help it. She had the man she loved waiting for her when she got home, and she was finally able to stay home and focus on school. What wasn't there to be happy about when that was your set up in life? Looking at her Algebra book she sighed a little. She hadn't studied and there was a test today. That was okay though.. she was good at Math. As the teacher passed Kagome her own test he said, "I see you've gotten over your cholera.."

Kagome nearly fell out of her chair. "Grandpa.. you ought to stop making up that I have all these problems.. people will wonder why I'm not dead yet..." she muttered under her breath as she began on her test. 'Inu-Yasha.. how are you doing today? I hope Grandpa and Mom aren't in too much of a fussy mood about pestering you...' Kagome thought to herself as she continued the test.

*Higurashi Shrine*

Inu-Yasha awoke in Kagome's bed about noon. "Aww... I missed saying goodbye to Kagome-chan..." he said, then remembered something.

~Flashback~

"Inu-Yasha.. I'm going to school now..." Kagome said, leaning over to gently kiss Inu-Yasha's lips.

The former Hanyou nodded and wrapped his arms around Kagome and pulled her down closer so he didn't have to get up to return the kiss, but ended up with Kagome laying on top of him as they kissed. "Have a nice day, Kagome.." he said falling back asleep, with a blushing Kagome on top of him.

"Ne...Inu-Yasha.. you hentai.." she muttered, but grinned to herself. 'He's such a good kisser..just a normal one of his kisses makes me melt.. wonder how an 'intimate' kiss would be...'

~Flashback over~

"Heh...that's right... I did say goodbye." he said as he stood up and looked around. "Hmm... wonder what's for breakfast.." he asked as he walked downstairs. He noticed that Kagome's Mom was in the kitchen, while Kagome's Grandpa was at the table, reading a newspaper. "Morning..." Inu-Yasha muttered as he sniffed around for food. "Ramen...need..ramen..." he muttered as he began sniffing out for it. Luckily, he still had his demon senses thanks to the wish he made on the Shikon no Tama. Then, he smelled it. "All right!" he said, grinning as he opened one of the cabinets and grabbing a package of Ramen. "Wait.. it's not cooked...Hey, Kagome's Mom? How do I work this..?" he asks.

"You sure are rude, sometimes..." she said before she looked at Inu-Yasha then gasped. "W...W-who are you!?!?!" she questioned in shock. She hadn't ever seen the human Inu-Yasha, and had no clue who he was. She quickly grabbed the broom and hit Inu-Yasha over the head.

"HEY!!! IT'S ME! INU-YASHA!!!!!!!!" He yelled. "Notice the clothing!?! Notice the beads around my neck?!?!?! I'm INU-YASHA!!!!!"

"But.. Inu-Yasha has cute little dog ears and silver hair! You're a liar!" Mrs. Higurashi yelled.

"I ain't a liar! I'm Inu-Yasha!" he yelled. "I wished to be a human so I could show up around here without people giving me weird stares!"

"The boy tells the truth, daughter.." Kagome's Grandfather said simply. "But you still don't look normal in your feudal age clothing.."

"Yeah... well I ain't got any money to go and buy new clothing!" Inu-Yasha yelled in retort.

"Here." Kagome's Grandfather said lying some yen on the table. "I'm sure Kagome won't mind losing her allowance.."

"Erm.. okay." he said, picking up the yen. "Where can I buy clothing?" Inu-Yasha didn't know where to go.

"I'll take you to the mall in Tokyo." Mrs. Higurashi offered.

"Erm..all right..." Inu-Yasha said blinking a little. "Now?"

"Sure. Come on." Mrs. Higurashi said as she lead Inu-Yasha off out of the house and too the mall.

*Higurashi Shrine-3:00 PM*

"Grandpa, Mom, Inu-Yasha, I'm home!" Kagome exclaimed as she entered, but only her Grandfather was there. "Nani..? Where is everybody?"

"Your Mom took Inu-Yasha shopping.." he said simply.

"Oh.. okay." Kagome said, then heard the door swing open. "Hey Sota!" Kagome said as she turned around and greeted her brother as he came home from school.

"Hey Kagome-san! I'm surprised you're not with Inu-Yasha already.." Sota said grinning.

Kagome smirked. "I would be if he were home, but Mom took him somewhere."

Once more the door to the home opened and there was Mrs. Higurashi. "Oh, everyone's home already?" she questioned. "Kagome, you're going to love the outfits I got your boyfriend!"

'Oh no...poor Inu-Yasha.. I wonder how many hours she dragged Inu-Yasha around the mall for..' Kagome thought.

Then Inu-Yasha walked in, with about four bags just of his clothing. The former Hanyou was dressed in a pair of long, baggy blue jeans and a baggy black t-shirt. "Hey, Kagome-chan..." he muttered as he looked to his feet. He was wearing socks and sneakers! "These damned things hurt..." he mutters and shakes his head.

"Inu-Yasha..." Kagome said, blushing incredibly as she stared at him. "You look so handsome...wow...kirei.." she managed to stutter out.

Inu-Yasha blushed slighty and grinned. "I try... nice to know I managed to pick out good clothing... though.. I'm not crazy about these stupid erm..'snee...kurs...' " he admitted, shrugging his shoulders some.

Kagome giggled. "Mom, is it okay if me and Inu-Yasha go out to see my friends?"

"Sure hun.. be home before dinner." Mrs. Higurashi said.

"Come on, Inu-Yasha!" she said, grabbing him by the arm and running out the door with him.

"Errr... okay..." Inu-Yasha said sweatdropping as Kagome dragged the teen out of the shrine home.

*The Park, fifteen minutes later*

"Okay, I called the others, they'll all be heading this way soon, Inu-Yasha." Kagome said, smiling and leaning against her boyfriend.

"Are you sure they're not going to think I'm weird or somethin'..?" Inu-Yasha asked, wrapping his arms around Kagome's waist. "I mean... I am a Hanyou.." he said instinctively.

"Were... remember?" she questioned and tugged his human ears. "Were.."

"Right, were." Inu-Yasha said with a smile, leaning down to kiss Kagome when he noticed that her friends had arrived. "Oh.. they're here...wait.. I thought you said they were all girls..." Inu-Yasha said, growling in the direction of the fourth. Houjo.

"Oh...hi guys. I didn't know you were bringing Houjo-kun." Kagome said, still leaning on Inu-Yasha while she looked at her friends.

"Oh, Houjo wanted to make sure you were feeling better... and.. who's this guy...?" One of her friends asked.

"Yeah.. is he new around here?" Another asked.

"Uh-oh..." the last said, figuring out who Inu-Yasha must be. Kagome's new guy.

"Um, guys, this is Inu-Yasha." Kagome said, blinking, not understanding why the others were confused by Inu-Yasha.

"Houjo had something to ask you Kagome, maybe we should let him do that.. we'll catch you at school.." the first girl said as she led the other two away. Leaving Houjo, Kagome, and the rather angered Inu-Yasha.

"Um..well..Kagome.." Houjo said nervously as he began to sweat, hearing Inu-Yasha growling. "I was wondering if you'd want to go with me to a movie this afternoon..."

Inu-Yasha's dark eyes stared blankly as Houjo said this, and, just as Inu-Yasha went to move forward, planning on killing Houjo, Kagome placed a hand on Inu-Yasha's chest to calm him. "I can't Houjo-kun, me and Inu-Yasha, my boyfriend, are going out on a date tonight." she said sweetly. She didn't do it to upset Houjo, but just more to let him know that she didn't like him the way he liked her. "Sorry, Houjo. I think we make better friends."

"It's fine, you're probably right Kagome. I'm sorry to bug ya. Catch ya at school." he said and walked off. He didn't feel too bad actually..

"Well.. wanna go to a movie, Inu-Yasha?" Kagome asked cheerfully.

"Erm...sure..." he said as Kagome began to lead him off. "Hey....Kagome? What's a movie...?"
