A/N: I'm sorry I'm late but I got sucked into this really good book. I'll tell you more about it at the end of the chapter.

“Daddy we could buy that dealership out and you could own both.”

 

“Very persuasive sweetie. How did you come up with this?”

 

“I've been doing my homework. I also have a list of investments you might be interested in,” Ayame said, laying the documents out in front of her father.

 

“I never knew my little girl had so much business savvy. Kouga must be helping you,” he said, grinning.

 

“Daddy we need to talk about that.” Ayame sat down in front of her father at his desk. “I don't think Kouga and I have a future together.”

 

Her father took on a very serious look. No one was allowed to hurt his daughter, and if Kouga had done wrong by he,r he would make sure the whole country heard of it.

 

“Why are saying this Ayame?” He asked

 

“Well I just don't ever think that he ever had interest in me anyway. The whole marriage was arranged by you and his parents, he and I never actually agreed.”

 

“But you were thrilled about it.”

 

“Yes but I think it was just that I had such a big crush on him. Now that I realize I have a life I should be paying more attention too I'm just not interested.”

 

“You sound so grown up; I don't think I'm ready for that. If he hurt you Ayame he will pay for it, but you don't have to stop being yourself because of it.”

 

“It's not Kouga, really. While I was interning at the advertising company I met this girl named Kagome. Daddy she's made me want to take control of my life. She's so young and already one of the best in her company. I want to have the kind of success you and she have. I'm ready to grow up.”

 

He reached across the desk and took his daughter's hands in his.

 

“Are you sure you don't want me to hurt him?” She shook her head and they both laughed. He had forgotten she would grow up one day. But he would just have to get use to her new attitude.

She didn't really wake up; it was more as if she jumped up. When Kagome's eyes opened and she saw that she wasn't in her room, she sprang at least one foot off the bed. She sat there tangled in sheets not her own, looking around wildly.

 

“What happened?” She whispered to herself.

 

Images started to flash back, the kind that gave her cheeks a rosy color. It was something in the middle of the night. She had woken for a minute and found herself tangled up with Inuyasha. However, she was in such a sleepy state of mind that she snuggled back into him without a second thought. She thought about it now and remembered what they had done. And for a minute she panicked, she had lost her virginity to her roommate!

 

What was supposed to happen now? What did he think of her? What did he think about any of this? They weren't married, probably never would be. Did he think it was just some fling and that they were supposed to forget about it? Would he want to keep doing it? Would she want to keep doing it? She was in his room alone; where was he? Had he gotten up and left her there alone to figure this out by herself? Did that prove that he didn't care?

 

Kagome started breathing harder, she felt like she was about to cry. She couldn't be one of those girls who just slept with people and thought nothing about it. It was a big deal for her; she had been raised differently than that. And it was her first time, had she blown one of the best experiences of her life on someone who wouldn't appreciate it?

 

`Well it was nice…' When she thought it about it, her cheeks flared and so did her internal temperature.

 

`It was way more than nice…' The more she thought about it the more her feelings changed. She got excited; she could feel it in the pit of her stomach. When it started to rush down to the lower parts of her body it hurt. It was like an ach that hadn't dulled yet; and all it did was serve to remind her of what she had done.

 

There was nothing left for her to do now except go to her room get dressed and maybe go over to Sango's a cry. She stood up off the bed and winced because her thighs were sore too. The sheets were wrapped around her and her hair was a mess. She knew her clothes were on the floor but didn't want to bother herself with picking them up now. And then she heard the front door up and close, and she froze.

A/N: Stop it! Stop it right now, I know you're mad. I know it's short! It's a rebound chapter for the lemon. I didn't want to give you too much, or maybe I'm just evil…~snickers~

 

So about this book that kept me per-occupied. It's called “A Kiss of Shadows” by Laurell K. Hamilton. It's actually the first book in a four book series about the main character Merry Gentry. I have the first two books now, but have to wait for my local Books-A-Million to restock on the third book. I've been waiting for weeks and they won't get anymore until March 8th!!

 

Anyway, it's a seriously good book, lemons every where ~wink, wink~. It's such a sexy book and has a great plot. This series deals with a magical fairy type kingdom, and even though it has the word “fairy” it's really not what you think of when you hear that word. It's more like bunch of magical creatures. She also has a vampire series of books.
