She couldn't move; she just stood there with her eyes wide open and her heart beating like a base drum. She heard keys jingle and only one other person had keys to this apartment. The footsteps came next and she scrambled for place to hide. She couldn't look at him right now. What if he came in and wanted to know why she was still in his room? All she managed to do was trip over a thick extension cord one the floor, which was one of many.

She caught herself and took a deep breath; she couldn't hide from him. She made her bed and now she would have lie in it, figuratively speaking. She would hold her head up high and face him like a woman. She left the room and walked into the living room just as he was about to turn into the kitchen.

“Inuyasha?” She said, trying to smooth her hair down a little.

“You're awake,” he said, looking back at her.

“Yeah, where've you been?” She asked `No sense in jumping right into the problem at hand.'

And yet, as she thought this another little voice in the back of her head said “Why not? You jumped right into bed with him…” But she ignored it with the best of her ability. She didn't need to be reminded of how badly she had screwed up.

“I went to get breakfast,” he said, holding up the bag in his hand.

“Oh…” She said dumbly.

“Inuyasha I want to talk to you…” Before she could finish there was a knock at the door.

“I think you should get dressed,” he said, grinning and pointing at her sheet covered body.

Kagome pulled the toga tighter and headed for her room. She could hear Inuyasha talking to someone but she couldn't make out who they were. It might have helped if she hadn't been so focused on how to address the issue of last night. She was dressed in grey sweat shorts and a pink tank top and just when she opened the door, she head Inuyasha shut the front one. She walked back into the living room to see him looking more than a little annoyed.

“What's wrong?”

“I have to go the office,” he growled.

“Why?”

“Because somehow, the shipment for England never left the warehouse.”

“So who was that at the door?”

“Shippou, I accidentally left my cell phone in my desk and no one answered this phone because I was out and you were asleep so he came in person.”

“Inuyasha I'm sorry.”

“It's not your fault. Here's your breakfast, I'll eat mine at some point,” he said, handing her the take-out container.

“I'll be back soon.”

He shocked her by kissing her on the cheek and then he left without another word.

“Miroku!” Sango said, stumbling back from the kitchen doorway.

“Good morning my love,” he answered, calmly.

“Miroku you're naked!” She said, blushing.

“Oh, so you noticed?” He asked innocently.

“Miroku why are you cooking our breakfast in the buff?”

“I thought you might like it,” he said, grinning.

“I don't know what to say…”

“It's not like you haven't seen all of me before.”

“That's different!” She yelled, as her cheeks heated up.

“I don't see a difference…”

“When we're in the heat of the moment it…it…just put some clothes on!”

“If it will make you more comfortable,” he said, turning around.

“Very!” She said, averting her eyes.

“Okay, watch the eggs.” He kissed her the forehead and disappeared down the hall.

When he came back clad in pajama bottoms she let him take over the stove.

“I have to go back to work tomorrow,” she said, sitting at the breakfast bar.

“I know. Do you think you're ready for it?” He asked.

“I guess. I certainly can't leave Kagome in Kouga's hands anymore.”

“Sango…” The warning in his made her roll her eyes.

“This isn't about Kagome, it's about you. Do you think you're ready?” He asked again.

“Yes,”

“Good; because I don't want you finding something else to worry yourself over. It's not good to-“

“It's not good to trade one problem for another,” she finished for him. She heard that sentence so much from him lately.

“I'm going to call Kagome and see how she's feeling. That press party was interesting…” She said, pushing away from the bar and standing up.

“Yeah, I thought they were going to run her into the ground with all the questions. Don't stay on the phone too long.”

“You'll be fine for a while,” she said, walking away.

“I was simply implying that your breakfast would get cold,” he said, innocently.

“Yep, that and something else…” She yelled back.

Kagome had never felt so somber before. She sat down at the table in the kitchen and stared at the food Inuyasha bought for her. It was one of his sweetest gestures to her but she was still having doubts. She was sure Inuyasha wouldn't hurt her intentionally and the endearing kiss he gave her only helped to reassure that thought. But she was constantly being hounded by her own judgments. She just couldn't do anything but beat herself up over how quickly she acted on her impulses.

She was a grown woman not ruled by her emotions and urges like some sixteen year old. Luckily, the phone rang at that moment because she was spearing a strawberry with a large amount of aggression.

“Miroku pack up breakfast and get some decent clothes on,” Sango said, rushing down the hallway past the kitchen.

“Why?” He asked curiously.

“We're going over to Kagome and Inuyasha's,” she yelled back.

“And again I ask why?”

“Because Kagome needs us.”

“Well what did Inuyasha do now?” He asked, rolling his eyes.

“I don't know but she didn't sound good at all.”

“Well I guess I can't say no then…”

“No you can't.” Sango said with force.

A/N: To all the sixteen year olds that shouldn't be reading this anyway, no offense. I was going more on my experience at sixteen, but thankfully I had the good sense not lose control like most other sixteen year olds.

If I had added everything I wanted to into this chapter it would have been really random so just bare with me here.

It starts off with her own original characters and the Inu gang will show up later. But it's so well written that it's joy to read right now.
