“Kyouryoku-san, there have been many rumors that Higurashi Kagome is your girlfriend. And of course it has surfaced that the both of you live in an apartment together. Perhaps you can lay the rumors to rest right now?” The reporter asked while the tap recorder sat on the desk between them.

After he had ushered the reporter into his office and shut the door. She sat down in front of his desk, turned her little recorder on and laid it between them. She proceeded to thank him for seeing her today because she knew a successful man like him couldn't possibly have much time. She also explained that she wanted to use the recorder in this interview so that she wouldn't be scribbling down notes and they could have a real conversation.

Inuyasha didn't like the double meaning he could sense in that but he was well schooled in how to handle press. When you have a famous father and a famous brother, you deal with the sharks a lot. He didn't like using the “nice” way of dealing with them because they don't stay gone. He wanted to get rid of them forever, but since he was dealing with them now it seemed his way hadn't work either.

This reporter was young, which meant she would be easier handle. She was cute, with her short brown hair, which she had highlighted with subtle black streaks. She was of average height and wasn't too skinny. She was wearing a little black dress that hugged her curves and flaunted them well--and he knew that wasn't a coincidence.

The only thing he could do was make this as painless as possible because the more he resisted, the more questions she would ask, and the longer this would drag out. And of course it would put a black mark on his company's reputation. So he flashed his smile at her, forcing it to reach his eyes.

“Unfortunately I still have no comment on the subject. Higurashi and I wish to keep or relationship privet, whether it be a romantic one or a friendship. We don't want our lives becoming mainstream gossip.” He had intentionally called her by her last name to distance himself from her. It wouldn't do much, but it would help a little.

“But I also have it on good authority that you had a recent relationship with Yoshida Kikyou, the editor of the high fashion magazine Hime?”

“Yes, but we decided we weren't right for each other; and the relationship ended.”

“It ended recently?” she asked.

“Yes. A few weeks ago actually,” he said truthfully.

“You and Higurashi-san must be friends, then, because I doubt you would cheat on any woman, much less with your own roommate,” She said smiling. Inuyasha laughed and it tinted her cheeks a little.

“Thank you. You're right. I don't believe in cheating on women.”

“So Kyouryoku-san, what do you look for in a woman? Judging from the reason of why your relationship ended with Yoshida-san, you must be looking for someone to settle down with.” He was expecting this question so answering it was no big deal, but he did find himself describing Kagome quiet effectively.

The rest of the interview rattled on from topics such as what his favorite food was, to other things that made he want to growl. You couldn't expect anything more from a teen magazine, but he kept himself calm and played nice. Soon, it was over; and he was walking her out of his office with much inner delight.

“Thank you again for the interview, Kyouryoku-san. I hope we can do it again soon.” The young girl bowed, and Inuyasha did the same. He was now happier than ever to see her go because he could taste the double meaning in that one.

Kagome and Miroku had always been big Hayao Miyazaki fans; so, of course, those were the movies Miroku went for after he'd finished bringing the plates into the living room. Kagome and Sango sat on the couch while Miroku sat on the floor right in front of the coffee table. They were currently in the middle of watching Princess Mononoke.

“I love those little things!” Sango enthused, while gesturing to the tree sprites.

“It always cracks me up when they do the bobble head thing,” Kagome snickered. She was finding it easier to relax and enjoy herself since Sango and Miroku were sure her fears of Inuyasha not wanting a real relationship with her were groundless, but that did make her a bit nervous about being with him in such a way.

What would they do now? Would she still sleep her room and him in his? Sango assured her that these problems would seem like nothing once she and Inuyasha got passed this hump and defined their relationship.

“Inuyasha, you have to set times for the rest of these interviews,” Jakotsu said.

“Right now?” he asked, irritated.

“Yes. You know the boss will be angry if you blow off all these magazines while we're trying to promote the product.”

“Fine, you reschedule them; and just tell me when one comes up. I'm not staying in this fucking building another minute,” he said, walking away.

The tension began to ebb away as he made his way to the parking structure. He unlocked his car with the small remote on his keys and got in. He threw his jacket in the passenger seat and started the car to make his way home; but his temper flared again when he saw the pile of traffic that awaited him. Rows and rows of angry drivers as far as the eye could see. Some were unmoved by the cluttered roads because this was commonplace in Tokyo; but others, no matter how many times they'd gone through it, still couldn't believe the way the roads got held up. Inuyasha was one of the latter.

He, of course, started blaring his horn and cursing at the top of his voice. It was only when he began to get a headache from himself, and the other disgruntled drivers, that he decided to get out of the car.

`Not like this mess is going anywhere soon.'

He got out and walked over to a nearby magazine stand. Figuring that maybe if he distracted himself he wouldn't get so pissed at the traffic, he was scanning the Manga when he caught sight of his name on another magazine cover. He picked it up and read the little headline under his name. He couldn't help but laugh out loud and startle the little man working behind the counter. Under his name were the words “Japan's Newest Heartthrob.”

“Hey, buddy, buy it now; and read it later,” the man said.

“Fine, how much?” he asked.

“56 yen.”

Inuyasha paid the man and bent down to continue looking for the Manga he wanted, but he found himself more interested in the teen magazines than anything else. He ran across three more with his name on the covers and other headlines such as:

“Kyouryoku Inuyasha, Japan's Hottest Bachelor,” or, “Is There a Secret Romance in the Young Inventor's Life?” And lastly, “Kyouryoku Inuyasha and the other Gorgeous Men on Our `Too Hot' List.

He paid for them all and went back to his car. It was easy to block out the noise of horns and shouting people once he had something else to focus on, and it did help that the content was so funny. The first one he read was the first he'd picked up off the shelf. The article went on about how handsome he was and touched on the fact that he was part of a famous family. His father was Minister of Justice and his brother was rumored to become either the next Minister of Internal Affairs and Communication or the next Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry since he had shown interest in both, but that was pretty much as fair as the article went. He threw that magazine down in the passenger seat on top of his jacket and picked up the next one. The one saying he was the hottest bachelor in Japan was the same as the last one so he didn't even bother to read it. He just threw it down and picked up the next one.

The one with the “Too Hot” list was the funniest so far. He got number two on the list, but he snorted when he saw that his brother was number one. There was even a little joint article on them. The funniest part was that it started off: “Taking after their gorgeous father in looks…” He seriously thought about buying another copy to send to his father just for kicks, but then he figure that he could just send this one--it's not like he wanted it really anyway. His father had always been openly proud that his sons had inherited the family looks, and his family had been a power positions since his Great-Grandfather was the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Of course, his father had hoped that Inuyasha would follow in his footsteps like his brother had done and become a Minister, too, but Inuyasha had always proved to be more like his mother in spirit, more carefree and a bit wild.

It wasn't that much of a big deal or a shock to his father when he told him he wanted to design video games. The man had been around him all his life and he had seen that Inuyasha was not one for serious business and having the responsibility of running major things, so he had come to terms with the fact that his second son was different long before Inuyasha had even graduated high school. His brother, however, was more of a pain in the ass about it. When he told his father of his plans, his brother had scoffed and babbled on about how he was breaking family tradition. When their father had told him it was none of his business what his brother wanted to do with his life, he had replied by saying; “It is just as well. If Inuyasha was in charge of anything, the family reputation would be destroyed before his first year as Minister was over.”

Then his mother had slapped Sesshoumaru hard on the shoulder, and ran over to hug Inuyasha. She, of course, was the most happy with his decision; and told him he would have to design a game and name one of the characters after her. He hadn't spoken to his father yet, but he knew he kept a close eye on him from afar and would know all about his new invention and “success.” But he could care less what his brother thought; and, knowing Sesshoumaru, he didn't think much about his brother's achievement anyway. If it didn't have anything to do with government or didn't affect Sesshoumaru personally, then he barely lifted a brow at it.

The last one was more annoyingly funny than anything. It was about his so-called “secret romance” with Kagome. It made mention of how he stuck close to her during the press party and even had a picture of them looking at each other when they were up at the podium standing behind everyone else. The article went on to say that both he and Kagome had denied any romantic relationship between them but that it was obvious that they felt something for each other. If last night had not happened, he would have snorted and rolled his eyes at them; but he couldn't now.

He was startled out of the magazine article when a woman came up and knocked on his window. She was angrily pointing at the open road ahead of him, and he quickly put the magazine away and started his car up. Before he drove off he heard her say, “Hey! Aren't you…?” but he didn't stick around long enough for her to finish her question. The traffic was clear and all he wanted to do was get home to be with Kagome so they could laugh at the stupid magazines together.
