Two Brothers

“Aw, man. Don't tell me I forgot to pack that too!” A hanyou yelled as his face turned red in frustration as he stood in front of a large suitcase, scattered with clothes, toiletries, and some money placed into a side pocket.
“I have to be there in little more than 24 hours! I can't believe this!” The hanyou kept his voice tone rather high as it rose to a sterner yell every so often. A youkai stood at the door, leaning his weight against one of the sides.
“I guess it was a mistake coming home this summer if this is what I'm greeted with practically every morning.” The youkai just kept a still face as he moved his long silver hair away from his face and back behind one of his elfish-like ears. The hanyou just huffed at him as he brought down his right hand, his claws detracting forward from his hand.
“Shut the fuck up, Sesshomaru. Why the hell are you standing there any way?” The hanyou yelled once more as his hand stayed in a steady position.
“Well because, little brother, I'm leaving a day early, and with what little time I had to rest you had interrupted.” The youkai, revealed as Sesshomaru brought a bit of an annoyed voice in his tone. “And I'm not pleased that you're going to be attending the same university.”
“Feh, like I had a choice in the matter.” The hanyou huffed, his silver hair raggy and all over the place, as the two silver dog ears on the top of his head twitched. The hanyou's amber eyes staring down at the youkai in front of him.
“Have you been trying to pick a fight?!” The hanyou yelled as he moved a few steps forward.
“Inuyasha! I better not here you fighting up there.” A woman yelled from down at the bottom of the stairs, making the hanyou's ears twitch again. “Inuyasha? If I, or your father, find you fighting again we'll end up cutting you off from our bank account.”
“But-” Inuyasha yelled, though was quickly stopped short of what he was about to say.
“What was that?” The woman had yelled again up the stairs, waiting for an answer. Before hearing it however, she heard a `Feh' escape the man's lips.
“Yes, mother. I understand.” The hanyou, Inuyasha, said as his ears flattened on his head, watching his brothers amused face in front of him, over the course of the small conversation, which to Inuyasha lasted `too' long.
“Ha-ha, being told by your Mommy at 20? That is simply pathetic.” The youkai said, rather amused by the situation, walking from the hanyou's bedroom door down the steps to the ground level of there household. Inuyasha just stamped his feet on the floor a few times in anger as he turned back towards his suitcase, looking over a list of `necessities' that he needed for bring with him to college.
“Man…” Inuyasha sighed as he ran his hand over his forehead and down through the back of his hair. “…I need to take a break.” He sighed once more and plopped down onto his unmade bed.
`I don't even see why I have to go to this stupid college anyway…it's completely useless to me.' He thought, letting his head fall down to the cushiony bed that he sat on. `The only good thing that'll come out of this is getting out of this god forsaken house…that's all I care about.'
“Inuyasha!” The woman's voice called up from the bottom of the stairs again as the 20 year old picked up his head slightly. “Why don't you come downstairs and eat? We ordered some Chinese food, so why don't you take a little bit of a break?” The woman said once more, in more of a nicer tone than she had previously spoken in.
“I'm coming! I'll be down in a second.” Inuyasha yelled down his eyes shut as he had waited a few more moments before picking himself up from the bed. As he sat up and began to stand, the weight pushed on the bed, changing the angle of how the bed had been placed. The hanyou watching as the bed tilted slightly, his suitcase falling from the bed and onto the floor in an instance, thus scattering the clothes and other materials across his bedroom floor.
“Dammit!!”
“Did you here something?” The woman revealed as Inuyasha's mother placed chopsticks and disposable bowls around the table, stopping for the moment when she had asked the question.
“No, I didn't here anything.” Sesshomaru said with a bit of a half smile on his face. The youkai grabbed a thermos full of coffee and began heading out of the kitchen and to his way to the front door.
“Nice goodbye, Sesshomaru.” The woman stated bluntly as Sesshomaru just simply brushed the woman's comment off and made his way out the door and to his car. Inuyasha's mother just shook her head lightly and let out a small sigh.
`I guess he'll never really like me, will he?' The woman thought as she heard the pattering of quick footsteps run down the stairs, turning her complete attention away from the thought and to the know panting hanyou that only stood a few feet away from her.
“Inuyasha, is something wrong? You're never worn out this easily, unless that is you're angry again.” His mother said with a smile, moving forward to pat the man's head lightly. Making him get a bit angrier.
“Mom, I'm just here to…well, to ask a favor.”
“Hm, what is it?” The woman smiled again, practically already knowing what he was going to say.
“What's that look for?” The hanyou lifted an eyebrow and watched as his mother just cocked her head to the said with a bit of a confused expression on her face. “I…I need your help.”
“Even after you said you were to `old' now to receive your mother's help?” She laughed and poked fun at the aggravated hanyou for a second, calming herself down a bit and responding again. “Of course I'll help you out.”
“T-Thanks.” Inuyasha said as he felt his stomach growl, turning his head towards the food on the table. “Chinese? I asked for ramen!”
“You'll be eating ramen throughout your college days; you need a bit more variety than just ramen in your diet.”
“That's why they make different types of ramen, mom! Like beef ramen and chicken ramen and ramen with extra noodles and…” Inuyasha now had a bit of a smile on his face as he talked on about the different types of ramen, his mother just developing some sweat drops on her face, a bit embarrassed by her son's reaction.
“Well for now what we have is Chinese, so let's eat before it gets called.” His mother stated as Inuyasha's smile turned to more of a frown as he looked back over at the food.
“But…”
“What was that?”
“Huh…oh it looks delicious.” Inuyasha said as he took a seat at the table, and grabbing a hold of the chopsticks in his right hand. After a good 20 minutes, the both of them were finished as Inuyasha placed his used chopsticks in the bowl and pushed the bowl towards the center of the table.
“Oh, don't forget your dessert.” His mother said as she handed him a fortune cookie. Inuyasha took the small folded cookie in his hand and examined it for a few seconds.
“You know you can't really consider a fortune cookie a dessert, it's called a cookie, but mostly it doesn't have that much of a sweet taste and some people don't even eat the cookie part.”
“Uh-huh” His mother nodded as she broke her own fortune cookie in half and took out the small strip of white paper inside. “Now let's see, mine says - `6, 24, 35, 8, 32'. Huh? Oh wait that was the wrong side of the fortune. Whoops.” The woman laughed lightly as she turned her fortune around. “Hm - it says that I'll have good health and wealth in the future, oh that's nice.”
Inuyasha just shook his head as he watched his mother's awkward moment as he broke open his own cookie, taking out his own fortune that stuck out from the middle.
“Oh, well that's stupid.” Inuyasha grunted and tossed the fortune in the middle of the table, his mother peeking over to read it.
“Love will be found, go and take that love to new heights.” Inuyasha's mother read aloud. “What's wrong with that fortune?”
“Those fortunes are all bogus, plus that's a fortune a chick would get.”
“Excuse me?”
“No offense to you, mom. I don't really consider you a woman, really.”
“Oh, well thanks.”
“You know what I mean!” Inuyasha raised his voice.
“No I don't get what you mean!” His mother responded back to him.
“Hmph, whatever.”
His mother just smiled as the hanyou turned his head as he stepped up from the table and made his way back over to the bottom of the steps, turning back once he got there towards his mom.
“Well, are you going to help me or not?”
“Sure.” The woman put down her chopsticks and followed after her son.

A/N: Well that should be the end of introductory chapters, and the actual `college days' will begin in the next chapter. Well to say I didn't have many ideas, I just wanted to introduce Inuyasha and Sesshomaru, I never really meant for Inu's mother to come into the story, but oh well. So these chapters were taken place at different times of course, this last chapter just a day before they gang starts attending. Today is my birthday by the way, August 12, 2006! I had the time today to quick write this chapter and make the readers happy. So please read and review. Thank you.
