Chapter 3: Remembering when we first met

She looked everywhere but to no avail. Kagome just about gave up; actually she decided to give up. She blew it. She didn't know what to do. `He is such a hot headed two-faced jerk… I know he won't say he's sorry, but I can't give him the treatment he wants.'

She noticed she had walked to the park; she sighed and sat down on a bench. `You know I wouldn't have minded him being a jerk if he hadn't been so forward in the lobby at school. But then again I would still be mad wouldn't I?'

She rummaged around in her pockets for her chap stick and her gum, she knew it was there. A few seconds later of searching, all she came up with was the Chap Stick and a note. `Grrr!!!' What is this, a joke? I just can't win today…' She just sat there looking at the note, on the front her name was neatly written in Kanji.

"What!?! Oh…I can't win, who ever wrote this did it on purpose…" when she had opened the note she found, it written in English. `This is going to take forever…'

She sat there on the bench and tried to figure it out. A half an hour later she had gotten the overall jest of the note to realize it was InuYasha, he had pick pocketed her out of her gum, and that he wanted to meet her… at…

Kagome quickly looked down at her watch; she had about… 5 MINUTES!! And he wanted to meet her at the Pizza Parlor which was a 15 minute walk from the park.

She got up and started running, as fast as she could. `I'll make it; I have to talk to him.'

She just kept running bumping into people and slowing down after a while, noticing she was close and still ahead of time.

She went in and looked around, he wasn't there. She went outside and waited for a good 10 minutes, before checking inside again, no sign of the jerk. "OH! I can't believe him! How could he do this to me? First I have to read his ridiculous note, he stole my gum and he made me run 10 blocks? I don't believe this!" But just as she was turning to leave she bumped into someone, when she went to see who it was, it wasn't prince charming.

"You weren't leaving were you? I hope you haven't eaten, I thought we could get a bite to eat?" he smirked.

"Umph! You are a jerk! I ran… and the note… and FINE! Let's get something to eat." He had started to pout once she opened her mouth, `He is such a baby'. They had gotten something to eat and sat down at a booth. Kagome just sat there staring out the window.

"So I hope my note wasn't hard to read, I mean I know how messy my handwriting can be."

"I read it fine, thank you. What did you want; I know you just didn't want the pleasure of my company." She said sipping on her soda.

"How would you know, besides we enjoyed each others company the last time we were together". Getting an annoyed look from Kagome he cleared his throat and continued. "I wanted to tell you about why me and Miroku popped up here all of the sudden." he cleared away the trash from their food walking it over to the trash can and sat back down.

"You know InuYasha, I don't care why you moved here, temporary or permanent, I don't care. I just don't want you to talk to me after this, ever again. I was a fool last time and I'll hate myself if I become stupid again and associate with you." She got up and stormed out of the restaurant.

"Damn it!" the cute black haired boy said.

She just kept walking, the tears burning through and blurring her vision, just enough that she tripped, bracing herself her a fall that would never come. She let the tears run as she knew she had been caught by him again.

He stood her up and she turned to meet his gaze, she knew he knew that she was crying even before the first tear fell. "Why did you touch me, why? Can't you see that you hurt me and I don't want to go through this again!?" she yelled.

At this point people were watching, InuYasha didn't care, he wanted his turn to speak damn it and he was going to make her listen. "Kagome, I…" he reached out to her only to get slapped. The people who were being nosy made noise and started whispering among themselves.

"I told you to leave me alone!" It was her chance, he was in shock and she was going to run for it.

Once InuYasha got over the overall shock of being slapped he was pissed. "That's it." He said under his breath, he lost control, and ran at the high speed he could go to catch up with her. The people gaped at what just happened, no one could move that fast.

But what the couple was unaware of was someone was watching them, and not just any ordinary stranger or by standard, and he knew InuYasha's secret, his kind would, it was only a matter of time before he would strike and protect Kagome from this filthy brat. There weren't many of his kind or Kagome's left and he'd be damned if he was going to let his filth ruin a nice girl like Kagome.

"Kagome! Kagome wait! Just hear what I have to say!" InuYasha yelled after her as her jumped in front of her, knocking them both to the ground. He could feel Kagome's body shaking slightly when she sobbed, slowly she tilted her head up, and started pounding on his chest. He hated smelling tears, his mother used to smell of tears all the time, and he hated knowing these tears were his fault.

"How dare you!? I don't want to listen I just want you to leave me alone!" But before she knew what had happened he was hugging her, she liked him hugging her she always had, but she had to be strong, and she struggled to get out of his grasp. "Let me go! Let me go!"

"No! I won't let you go till you listen! Listen here wench I'm sick of your damn bitching! All you do is talk well it's my turn to talk! Got it?" She still didn't stop squirming, so he continued in a softer tone then before. "I know you don't care, but I'm going to tell you anyway, me and Miroku, well we moved here for good…" He stopped when he felt her body go limp and the squirming stopped. "You know what our parents do and so that has relocated us here," he pulled he back so he could see into her eyes, all he could see though were the tears.

"And now that you think since you happen to be in town for good you'd pick up where you left off? Remember I'm just a plain and simple girl living on the grounds of a shrine, nothing more. Remember? So don't give me this bull…" she couldn't finish her sentence because he had crushed his lips onto her on holding her to her spot.

When InuYasha had pulled back, all he could do is feel pain in his cheek. "What gave you the right? We are over though, I see, that you have been spending too much time with Miroku."

InuYasha looked at her, and rubbed his cheek. "For a bitch you hit pretty well." Kagome just gaped at him, he smirked. That is what threw her over the edge, his cocky attitude.

"I know in your little world you get what you want but here, in Kagome's world, you don't get me." As she was getting up she too brushed herself off, and started to walk away, as she did she frowned, paused in her walking and whispered, "I never told anyone you know, your secret. It's funny how now you think you are good enough for me when you were good enough all along."

She knew he heard, but InuYasha heard every word so well it stung him in the chest. Though he would never admit it he did mess up, and badly. He just wanted her back no matter what it took; he would even stay the same for her instead of changing like he had promised another….
