Chapter 2
Kagome just stares at inu yasha, she could see the love in his eyes. I can't believe this is happening. She thought, as inu yasha pulled her in close. They laid there, her wrapped in his arms. She closed her eyes and drifted off in to a peaceful dream full of the wonder half-bread that she had grown to love. He just laid there holder her for what seemed like a millennia…but still that didn't seem long enough to him. All he wanted was this, and it felt better than he imagined it. Her sent was all over, it played as an aphrodisiac, sending inu yasha over the edge. However, no matter his desire he loved her too much to ruin this perfectness with lust.
However, when the morning came something happened that would change everything. The sun was just rising when Kagome woke up. She snuggled closer to the sleeping half-bread. He slowly opened his eyes, noticing what she had been doing. He wrapped his arms tighter around her.
"kagome" he whispered. I am going to tell her. This is it.
"yes inu yasha"
"I just wanted tell you that I want you by my side forever. I want to be able to protect you. I can't bare the thought of loosing you."
"inu Yasha" she smiled. Her heart started to pound. I am going to tell him, it's now or never. "inu yasha…I love you" her heart stopped as she waited for is reaction. When nothing happened she began to worry. She looked up to see him eyes close. He was sleeping. She moved closer to him face as she leaned towards him, kissing him once again.
BANG!!!...they both woke up while falling out of bed.
"what are you doing? Who is this guy?" kagome looked up too see that her aunt Ridsi was looking right at her.
"its not what it looks like" inu yasha said.
"It better not be i jut made plans for you, I can't break then now" she looks to kagome who is laying on the floor confused as ever.
"what do you mean" kagome asked.
"Gentu had asked your mom is he could marry you and she said as long as you said yes. He's coming over in a few hours. This family has money, Kagome." She helps kagome up "he can take care of you"
"But…" he started when her aunt stopped her.
"Just think about it kagome. They could really help out your family." She walked out of the room. Kagome just sat there staring at the door trying to take in what just happened. He turned to inu yasha who was now growling.
He isn't going to touch her…
"if I go with him then my family will be better off., but I would be unhappy." She turned to inu yash who was standing behind her looking sad as ever.
Is she really considering going with him? "so is that it then? Are you going to go with him" he couldn't look at her.
"inu yasha I…"
"no you should go," he walked to the window, "He can give you the life that you deserve." He didn't look at her he just jumped out the window.
She walks over to the window. "I want to be with you inu yasha. My family has been doing ok so far, so why would now be any different? We don't need his money." She sighs while she watches the sunrise. "Of course I'm not going to marry him."
In the feudal area inu yasha is sitting in a tree that over looks the little plot of green grass surrounding the well. Kagome, please come back to me. I need you by my side! About two hours had passed and inu yasha had fallen sleep.
"Inu Yasha!!!!!!!!" screamed a little voice. He jumped, falling off the branch and crashing head first into the ground.
He looked up at the small shippo who was looking at him confused. "why you.." she growled as he picked up shippo by his tail. "I told you not sneak up on me like that." He yelled.
"inu yasha, there are more important things to worry about!" He screams back at him. Inu yasha just stares at him in confusion. "I found this next to the well. It's a letter, although I am not sure what it says I am sure that it's from kagome." shippo held out the letter and inu yasha grabbed it from him. He examined the letter.
"Come on shippo, we have to take this to kiade."
"Why?' shippo asked. He did not reply. He too could not read but he could smell the tears that soaked into the paper, the paper that smelling like kagome. He ran as fast as he could to the village. He ran into the hut but she was still sleeping. He wanted to wake her but couldn't bring himself to do it. He walk out of the hut only to realize miroku was standing right in front of him with a huge red mark on his face. "monk!" inu yasha yelled. "Let me guess, you checked on sango" the monk didn't reply. "Enough, I need your help miroku."
"Yes inu yasha" Miroku walked closer to him.
"I need you to read this for me." He shoved it into mirokus face.
Miroku took a quick glance at the letter. "Its from kagome" he said
DearInu yasha,
I could not bear to tell you this in person but I have to marry Gentu. If we don't find a way to get money, and quick, we will loose our home and our shrine. I have to do my duty and help my family. The wedding will be the day after tomorrow. Please forgive me. Tell the others that they will always be in my heart.
I love you more than anything, and I will miss everybody, but I cannot return there. Inu Yasha my heart will always belong to you. Please don't forget about me.
I will always love you, not even time can break that,
Kagome
Miroku looked at inu yasha who was squatting. His eyes were glazed over and slightly closed. "Kagome isn't coming back?" Inu Yasha asked.
"If this letter bares truth then no. She is not coming back."
Inu yasha didn't look up. He continued to stare into nothingness. She promised she would come back, she said she would stay by my side.
"inu yasha." Inu yasha didn't budge. "Are you going to go to her?"
"ppphhss, shy should I? She's made her choice. She'd rather be with him." Inu yasha crossed him legs and arms putting his nose high into the sky.
"Inu yasha, she wants to be with you. I know she does, but things do not always work out. I think that if you took the time to think about it you would realize that she is trying to protect her family my sacrificing herself. That is a noble and brave thing to do. By the look of the letter she was crying when she wrote this, meaning this cause her great pain"
"I promised to protect her, I can't let her hurt like this."
"So what are you going to do?"
"I don't know" inu yasha replied as he brought himself to his feat and walked toward the well. Miroku just watches him leave. Miroku folded the letter and places it in his robe and looks off into the morning sky with sad eyes.
Inu Yasha finally reached the well. He looked down it wondering what he should do; hoping that she would come to him. He spent the entire day just sitting in front of the well thinking to himself. Finally, well into the night, he walked back to the village. When he arrived the only one still awake was miroku, who was sitting infront of kiades hut. Inu yasha walked over to him and sat down.
"Have you decided?" Miroku asked already knowing the answer.
"Yeah"
"What will you do then?"
"If Kagome's family looses the shrine the well would be destroyed and I would never see kagome again." He pauses, "I'm going to let her marry him but still watch over her. I won't break my promise."
