kumi meyano: The name of the story was kind of mentioned in the first chapter when Sesshomaru asked her what her heart cried out for, her answer had been him. Plus there is some drama going to be coming into the picture. So Rin having pups isn't all this story is about. Sesshomaru gets tested again and again to see if he's able to know what Rin means to him and how he feels about her.

Chapter 6: The Truth and Butterfly Kisses

"I wish to speak to you little brother about your family."

Inuyasha's eyes widened in utter amazement, he couldn't believe what he was hearing. His cold-hearted brother wanted to talk to him about his family, now that was weird. Inuyasha cocked an eyebrow up as he continued to look at Sesshomaru.

`He sure as hell doesn't look different, but he sure is acting weird.'

He then folded his hands in front of him as he laid his back against a near by tree.

"So what is it about my family you want to speak to me about?"

Sesshomaru couldn't believe he, a great lord, was asking his half blood brother for advice. At first he started to walk away, and then an image of Rin's lovely face drifted into his minds eye. It was then he knew that his fate was seal, for he would do anything to kept Rin happy.

"I require information."

Inuyasha became startled by his brother question. What the hell kind of information could he give Sesshomaru? His dog ears swiveled and twitched at the sound of Miran and Inuhiko's screams of delight, causing him to look quickly in their direction.

Inuyasha couldn't stop the smile that appeared on his face as he watched his sons giggle as butterflies landed on their noses.

He then turned is attention back to Sesshomaru. An eyebrow raised, in confusion just what was he up too.

"Just what kind of information, are we talking about here Sesshomaru?"

His cold eyes glanced once more over at his giggly nephews as they chased after a butterfly, as it fluttered back and forth between the two of them.

"I wish to know, when is it the right time to have a pup. How did you and your mate know that you were ready?"

Inuyasha was completely dumbfounded as his stared wide eyed at his half brother.

`I can't believe this Sesshomaru is asking me how I knew I was ready to become a father. Boy is his going to be surprised.'

Sesshomaru's face remained stoic and still as he waited for his brother's answer.

`I need to know, I must know how I will know when I am ready. If I let it happen, if I have already let it happen, I will be unprepared.'

The sound of Inuyasha clearing his throat brought him out of his thought. He then looked over at his half brother and waited for him to speak.

"I'd love to help you out Sesshomaru, but I can't."

Sesshomaru narrowed his eyes at Inuyasha as anger poured through his body. He could not believe what he had just heard.

"What is the meaning of this Inuyasha?"

Inuyasha had slowly started to make it over to Miran and Inuhiko. When he suddenly stopped and turned too looked at Sesshomaru.

"Like I said I can't give you the answer to your question, it something you have to find out on your own. Kagome and I were taken by surprise when we found out Sera was on the way. Both of us were nervous as all get out, I even had doubts about being a father. However, the very first time I held Sera I knew, I was ready. I was ready to give my life for her if need be."

Sesshomaru stood shocked to here what Inuyasha had just said. He was then amazed at what he said next.

"I guess you'll just have to wait and see how it feels when you hold your first born pup. If you ask me, I'd say you're already ready to be a father. Just look at Rin, you raised her from a kid didn't you? Look how she turned out."

With is his head whirling with Inuyasha's words. He was surprised to find Inuhiko staring up at him with his amber orbs. Sesshomaru then found himself lightly smiling at him as Inuhiko tried his best to say his name.

"Sess…hoemaryou."

Perhaps his half-breed brother was right. Maybe he already was ready to be a father. He had never really looked at it that way.

Rin smiled as she listened to Kagome talk. After Lord Ringo and his wives had left, she found her self back in the castle. Where she then bumped into Kagome and Sera, she had taken them to the dinning area for some lunch. It felt good to have another human woman to talk too, however she knew that no one could ever replace Mina.

Kagome noticed how Rin would glance off and on at her round abdomen, and she couldn't help but smile at her. It was very clear that the young woman hungered to have a child of her own. Yet, Kagome wondered if it would truly ever come true. She knew of Sesshomaru's hate toward hanyous all to well. So she could never see Sesshomaru breaking through that wall of his, and becoming the father. Kagome then noticed how nervous Rin had become as she continued to watch her.

"Kagome-sama? Is it all right if I ask you something?"

Rin's face lit up as she saw Kagome smile at her.

"Of course Rin, what is it you would like to know?"

Rin hung her head at first unsure of how she should ask. After thinking it through in her head Rin voiced her question to Kagome.

"I was just wondering Kagome-sama, how did Lord Inuyasha react when you told him you were carrying his child/pup inside of you?"

Kagome blushed at hearing Rin's question. Seeing Kagome's reaction, Rin thought that perhaps she had asked some thing to personal.

"Gomen Kagome-sama, I did not mean to embarrass you."

Kagome eyes widened at Rin's words as she then giggled.

"Oh no Rin, it's fine. It's just that both of us where surprised when we learned that we were expecting for the first time. Naturally, we both were nervous at first. Then over time the idea grew on us and we couldn't wait to meet our little miracle."

Kagome then placed a hand on Rin's as she squeezed it gently.

"I wouldn't worry too much about him through. Sesshomaru cares a lot about you so I'm sure that when the two of you have your first, he'll be happy for even if it takes him awhile to show you that he cares."

Rin smiled as she nodded her head. For she knew how right Kagome had been, surly if Lord Sesshomaru did not love her, he would have never taken her as his. Both women continued to talk as the pup inside Kagome womb gave her a swift kick, startling both Kagome and Rin. Kagome rubbed her abdomen in a circular motion as she spoke familiarly to the pup inside.

"Hey, you in there, take it easy. I need all those organs that you're kicking around in there."

Rin smiled and then giggled lightly as she listened to Kagome talk to the pup inside. Inuyasha's voice was soon heard from the doorway.

"Hey, I hope three of you left some food for us to eat?"

Both Inuhiko and Miran jumped out of Inuyasha's arms and rushed over to their mother. After receiving a hug from her they both jumped into the food that was on the table. Inuyasha's eyes popped out of his head as he watched the food disappear into his son's bellies.

"Hey you two, leave some food for me."

Kagome glanced around the room for Sesshomaru; she frowned when she did not see him anywhere. With curious eyes Kagome looked of at Rin.

"Where's Sesshomaru, isn't he going to join us for lunch?"

Rin just shook her head.

"My lord's taste is very different then mine. He dislikes the smell and taste of what I dine on. He prefers a meal that is not made of human food."

Kagome's brown eyes sadden as she looked at the young woman who sat across from her.

"I'm very sorry to hear that Rin. You must get lonely eating in a huge dinning hall like this by yourself."

Rin could stop the small giggle that escaped her lips as she heard Kagome's words.

"I never eat alone, Lord Sesshomaru's comes and sits with me and talks while I eat. I'm sure he's not here now because you and Inuyasha are here with me."

"Oh, okay." Kagome responded as she looked around the room. She then noticed that something, or someone was missing.

"Inuyasha, where did Inuhiko go?"

"Heoh, wasuh jest haere a pecond a hole."

The angry glare that Kagome was now giving him, made him swallow the food in his mouth and try again.

"He was just here a second ago. I wonder where the little squirt ran off too now."

Sera, made a sound that sounded like a feh as she sat beside her mother and looked over at her father.

"He's probably off some where getting into trouble like he always is."

A few seconds later a very excited little Inuhiko came bounding back into the room. Kagome and Rin couldn't help but giggle at his antics, as he jumped up and down as he tried to talk to Rin.

"Rin, Rin, guess what? Come on guess what…I found, I find it just for you."

Rin smiled as Inuhiko looked up at her with his amber golden eyes.

"What did you find for me dear?"

Inuhiko pulled Rin out of her chair, just before he ran to the door and then stopped and looked to see if Rin and his family were coming. Grinning he ran outside to find his prize, just as Rin and the others were about to step outside, when Inuhiko walked back inside with something following behind him. With his little fist hanging onto his prize, he walked proudly in front of Rin.

"See Rin, I found your Sesshoemaryou for you. I make you happy with the present I bring you?"

Rin did her best to hold in her joyful laughter. When she had saw what her nephew had brought her. There trailing behind him was her usually stoic lord. However, he looked quite amused with something. Yet his lips never turned up into a smile, he remained his quite self.

"Yes, Inuhiko I'm very happy. Thank you it is a wonderful gift."

Inuyasha just smirked over at Sesshomaru.

"Looks like you're losing your touch, Sesshomaru."

Sesshomaru glared at his younger brother before speaking.

"Hardly little brother, however I was very surprised by my nephew's prowess, and tracking ability. His sense of smell seems to be even better then yours little brother."

Inuyasha's response was a low growl, right before he looked over and Kagome and his pups.

"As much as I love our little family get togethers, we've got to be heading home. Kagome, Sera, Inuhiko Miran let's go."

Kagome at first was surprised by Inuyasha's outburst yet she said nothing. She then looked down at her children.

"Come on kids we should get going, follow your dad."

She then turned to face Rin and Sesshomaru and bowed.

"Thank both for inviting us."

Sera, Inuhiko, Miran followed their mother's manners.

"Yes, thank you."

They then followed Kagome out through the doors. Inuhiko and Miran walked in front, while Sera walked beside her mother. Rin cast Sesshomaru a look as their guest disappeared.

"Lord Sesshomaru, do you always have to insult him and make him angry?"

Sesshomaru's cold glaze remained on the door.

"If I did not, he would think that I was starting to like him. In which it is not the case, however I do find his children interesting. They are less demon the Inuyasha, yet all three of them content a great amount of power, and agility."

Turning toward Rin he gestured for her to follow him.

"Come Rin, the castle ground will be quieter now that all of our guests are gone. Shall we take a walk through the garden, before the sun sets?"

Rin smiled as she walked beside her lord, her head lying gently on his shoulder. Now that Inuyasha and Kagome were gone, her lord had no problem with showing her affection, or in receiving affection from her. It was just the way he was.

(A/N: Well another chapter comes to an end. Hope this chapter didn't confuse any one. I promise things will start getting more interesting. In the next chapter a month and a half has past and we get to learn if Inuyasha and Kagome's pup/child was boy or a girl what do you guys think?
