Chapter 11

Gone?

Kagome's friends looked after her retreating form confused. "She's gotten really busy hasn't she?" Yuka asked.

"Hai, she's changed a lot too." Eri said. The girls all agreed and went back to their shopping.

Inuyasha, Kagome, and Inuki ran as fast as they could to the shrine. Kagome couldn't get the feeling that Sango and Miroku were in trouble. Inuyasha had Inuki on his back since he couldn't run like a youkai in her time and he was the slowest of the three.

Kagome pushed herself to run as fast as she could. Inuyasha was surprised at her speed. When they got to the shrine they wasted no time jumping in through the well. Inuyasha picked Kagome and Inuki down once out of the well.

"Be careful I smell youkai." Inuyasha said. Suddenly they heard a scream. "Dammit, that was Reiha."

"We'll never make it in time." Kagome said.

Inuyasha picked Kagome and Inuki up. He ran faster toward the house. When they got there Sango and Miroku were fighting off tons of random youkai. Someone must have summoned them.

"Are you guys ok?" Inuyasha yelled.

"Hai." Miroku said.

Kagome ran over to Reiha and Shippo with Inuki. She threw a shield around the kids. She ran over to everyone else to help them fight. She formed her arrows and started shooting at youkai who got too close to her.

"There's too many of them. Someone's going to get hurt." Kagome yelled. "Everyone get back behind me."

"You're not doing anything." Inuyasha yelled.

"I don't have a choice. The worst that will happen to me is that I'll pass out for a while. I won't get hurt." Kagome said.

"You're going to get it if you get hurt." Inuyasha yelled. "Sango, Miroku, Kohaku get behind her."

"But…" Sango started.

"Just do it." Inuyasha yelled. "Watch out."

Sango had gotten hit by one of the youkai. "Sango." Miroku yelled as she fell to the ground. He ran to her.

Kagome looked at Sango on the ground. Now she was pissed. This would take more energy but she had to do it. She couldn't wait for them any longer. She threw up a shield around the two and threw one around Inuyasha and Kohaku too.

She formed an arrow and waited until all the youkai gathered up right in front of her. She shot the arrow and let it fly in front of her. It stopped right in front of them all. Inuyasha thought she might have done something wrong.

The arrow turned into a ball of her energy and little rays of white light shot out towards the youkai. All the youkai fell one by one until the ball ran out of energy. By that time there was nothing left. All the youkai were gone and disintegrated.

Kagome collapsed on the ground and the shields flickered and went away. "Kagome." Inuyasha yelled. He ran to her. "Are you ok?" He asked.

"Hai." Kagome said. Then she remembered Sango had gotten hit. "Sango." She got up before Inuyasha could stop her. She managed to reach Sango. "Are you ok?"

"Hai, it's not that bad." Sango said.

"Hold on." Kagome said. She put her hand over the wound and it grew into a white light and then the wound and her pain was gone.

"Arigato Kagome." Sango said.

"I'm just glad everyone's ok." She said before falling backwards. Inuyasha caught her.

"She's being too damn reckless." Inuyasha said. He walked to his house. Shippo and Inuki followed him.

"She worries too much." Sango said.

"Someone must have sent those youkai." Miroku said. "Kagome wasn't here so they couldn't be after the jewel. There's no other reason to attack."

"Let's go see how Inuyasha's doing. We know how he worries too much." Miroku said.

They both walked over to their house. Everyone was in Kagome and Inuyasha's room. "You seemed to know we were in trouble." Miroku said. He remembered how they came out of nowhere and expecting what happened.

"Kagome had a vision after some youkai tried to attack her." Inuyasha said.

"A youkai attacked Kagome in her time? I thought they kept themselves hidden?" Sango said.

"Hai, but this youkai sensed she was a miko. She said there weren't many miko's left and that she would kill her before Kagome killed all the youkai."

"What happened after that?" Miroku asked.

"Kagome showed how much power she had and the youkai ran." Inuyasha said.

"How long do you think she'll sleep this time?" Sango asked.

"I don't know. Where does she learn to do this stuff? I've never seen her do what she just did." Inuyasha said.

"I don't know." Miroku said.

"How about I go cook? I'm sure everyone's hungry." Sango said.

"Hai, you can cook here if you want." Inuyasha said.

"Why don't you kids go play in Inuki and Shippo's room? Kohaku you can stay if you want." Miroku said.

"Hai." The kids said. Even though they wanted to stay it was better for them to get out of the way.

"Seems like Kagome can take care of everything herself." Miroku said

"I'm her mate. She shouldn't have to do things herself." Inuyasha said.

"Don't worry about it. She just thought the way she did it was easier and there would be less injuries this way." Miroku said.

"I'm going to go clean up around the area just in case some youkai are left around." Kohaku said.

"Arigato Kohaku." Miroku said.

"I'll go down with Sango." Miroku said. Inuyasha nodded.

He looked at Kagome. She'd done it again. She took care of all those youkai by herself. She was his mate. He should be doing the killing not her. He was the male. He was just worried. Who the hell was after her?

A little while later Inuyasha went downstairs to eat. He would've ate with her but he didn't want to wake her up. She needed her sleep.

"I wonder how long until we find out who's after Kagome?" Sango said. "We're bound to find out sooner or later."

"It seems like the attacks are getting worse every time." Miroku said. "This is the first time someone got hurt."

"We'll find out soon. I'm going to kill the person trying to kill her." Inuyasha said. He walked back upstairs to Kagome.

"Do you think we should take Inuki and Shippo with us for the night so he won't have to worry about them?" Sango asked.

"Hai." Miroku said. "I'll go tell him that we'll take care of them."

"I'll gather the kids and meet you at home." Sango said.

"Inuyasha we're going to take Inuki and Shippo with us for the night so you can stay with Kagome." Miroku said.

"Arigato." Inuyasha said.

"You should get some sleep too." Miroku said and he left.

Inuyasha laid down next to Kagome and held her tight. He wished they could just live normal lives. Nothing would ever get easy as long as the jewel was whole. He closed his eyes and went to sleep.

The next day Kagome woke up. This time she didn't feel tired. She tried to get up but was shoved back down by Inuyasha. "You shouldn't be up." He said.

"How long was I asleep?" Kagome asked.

"Just the night." Inuyasha said.

"Oh, well I'm going to make breakfast." She started getting up. "Are Inuki and Shippo up?"

"They are at Miroku and Sango's house." Inuyasha said. "They're up. They came over earlier. Sango has breakfast ready for whenever we get up."

"Oh." Kagome said. "She's fine right?"

"You healed her wound." Inuyasha said.

"I know I just wanted to make sure." Kagome said.

Inuyasha got up. "Get dressed we'll go over there."

"Hai." They both got dressed and walked to Miroku and Sango's house. Reiha, Inuki, and Shippo were outside playing.

"You're awake already." Reiha said.

"Hai." Kagome said as she hugged all three of them. Kagome and Inuyasha walked inside the house.

"Kagome, you're awake already." Sango said.

"Why does everyone keep saying that?" Kagome asked.

"Last time you were out for a lot longer." Miroku said.

"Here I have some food for you guys." Sango said and handed them some soup.

"Arigato." Kagome said. Kagome ate and talked to everyone. She put her dish away when she was done.

Then suddenly everyone heard screams coming from the kids. They all ran outside as fast as they could. The only thing they saw was Reiha standing there crying.

"What happened Reiha?" Sango asked her.

"Where are Inuki and Shippo?" Kagome asked.

"A shadow thingy took them." Reiha said.

"I can't smell them anywhere." Inuyasha said.

"Inuki and Shippo are gone?" Kagome said.
