Chapter 14

Chaos

"What the hell are you doing here? You're supposed to be dead." Inuyasha yelled. He was pissed that she was still alive.

"I'm not dead. The worst that miko bitch did was injure me badly." Kikyo said.

"You have no right to call her that." Inuyasha yelled. Only he was aloud to call her that. "Why aren't you dead?"

"I was able to keep myself together. Didn't you think it odd that there was no body or trace of one?" Kikyo said. "Besides I still have a piece of MY soul. It never went back to her."

"I shot you. How did you manage to live?" Kagome said.

"I've escaped death many times before." Kikyo said. "I can do it again."

"Where are Inuki and Shippo?" Kagome yelled.

"They're fine inside this hut." Kikyo said.

"Let them go." Inuyasha said.

"I think we should have a little fun before we deal with them." Kikyo said. She summoned her soul stealers and they gathered the youkai that were near them in the forest.

"Dammit." Inuyasha yelled. He jumped in front of Kagome and started slashing at the youkai around him.

Sango and Miroku were fighting as well. There were youkai everywhere. At the rate they were going they were going to tire out before all the youkai died. Kagome started shooting arrows at the youkai. It would take a lot of her energy but she needed to help.

Kikyo stood where she was and watched as they defeated the youkai one by one. She was amused. Inuyasha promised her he would go to hell with her. She was going to make him keep that promise no matter what.

She wasn't one who could be killed so easily. It had taken her a while to gather enough souls and energy to heal herself but she did it. While she waited for her body to heal she swore she'd kill Kagome.

She was the one who took her soul. She was the one who took her love. Everything was taken from her and given to the reincarnation. Kagome was nothing but a cheap imitation copy of herself.

Kagome noticed that everyone was starting to tire themselves out from the endless fighting. She gathered her energy into a ball on her hand. She let it go and white shots of light hit the enemy youkai.

All the youkai were gone within seconds. Sango and Miroku caught their breath while the youkai were being taken out. Inuyasha rushed to Kagome's side when he saw her wobble.

"Seems like your mate wasted a lot of energy doing that." Kikyo said.

"Why the hell are you doing this?" Inuyasha yelled. He held Kagome in his arms. Sango and Miroku made their way to his side.

"She has taken everything from me." Kikyo said.

"What has she taken that was yours to begin with?" Miroku shouted at her.

"She has taken my soul, my love, and my miko powers." Kikyo said.

"None of those things were yours to begin with." Miroku said.

"I never belonged to you Kikyo. Kagome awakened me. I belong to her now." Inuyasha said.

Kikyo strung a bow in anger. "You're mine to bring to hell with me Inuyasha. I will not let you break your promise to me." Kikyo yelled.

"I had no right to make that promise to you." Inuyasha said.

"It doesn't matter. Kagome will die and you will go to hell with me." Kikyo said. "You owe me for the love we shared."

"I owe you nothing. Our love died with us." Inuyasha said. "You didn't love me. You wanted to change me and get rid of the jewel so you could be a normal woman."

"That's not love." Sango said. "You wouldn't have tried to change him if you really did love him."

"And what about her?" Kikyo pointed to Kagome. "Do you think she loves you? Do you really think deep down inside her heart she could love you? She thinks of you as a half-breed. I don't, I was the only one who would look at the person inside."

"You are such a hypocrite." Kagome said standing herself up. "You wanted to change him. I never thought of him as a hanyou. I thought of him as Inuyasha and nothing more."

"I'm a hypocrite?" Kikyo laughed. "You don't even have a life. Your just walking around with my soul. But you won't have it for long."

"I think she's getting nervous or something because she's not making any sense." Sango said.

"I think she's lost her mind." Miroku said.

"You think I've lost my mind?" Kikyo hissed. "I was going to spare your lives but now it seems I only need Inuyasha to stay alive." She summoned her soul stealers and they once again gathered the surrounding youkai.

"Not again." Inuyasha said.

"I don't know how long we can keep fighting like this." Miroku said.

Kagome stood up and once again prepared to eliminate the youkai. Inuyasha stopped her. "You can't keep wasting your energy like this." He said.

"It's the only way to get rid of them." Kagome said. "Sango and Miroku are tired. They can't fight for much longer."

"It's all right Kagome." Sango said. "We'll get rid of these youkai."

"That's right. We can handle it." Miroku said.

"See. Just stay right here and don't move." Inuyasha said. He ran to the closest youkai and cut it in half with the tetsusaiga. Kagome watched as they fought. If only she had a regular bow and arrow she could help fight without using her miko energy.

Kagome was trying to think of a way to get to Inuki and Shippo. Maybe while they were fighting Kikyo would be distracted. Kagome tried to move closer to the hut. "Take one more step and I purify them." Kikyo said holding a hand towards the hut.

Kagome stopped. Maybe if the youkai were gone Inuyasha could run into the hut and grab Inuki and Shippo. She said herself she wanted Inuyasha alive. So she wouldn't try to hurt him.

As much as her body protested it she gathered her energy in her hand and released it. White light in the form of arrows shot at the youkai. Inuyasha saw the light from the corner of his eye. He saw Kagome holding her hand with the ball of energy.

"Dammit Kagome." Inuyasha said. He quickly killed the youkai in front of her and ran towards her. "I told you not to do that."

"We need to get Inuki and Shippo." Kagome said weakly. She slumped against his chest.

Sango and Miroku ran towards them. "Inuyasha you run in and get them while Sango and I distract Kikyo." Miroku said.

"Kirara can take care of Kagome for a little bit." Sango said.

Inuyasha looked at Kagome. She nodded for him to do it. "Fine but be careful." He said. He looked at the transformed Kirara. "Take good care of her Kirara."

Kirara nodded and stood in front of Kagome in a defensive stance. She growled when the undead miko lifted an eyebrow. "Lets go Miroku." Sango said. They both ran towards Kikyo.

Kikyo notched an arrow when she saw the two coming for her. She knew they were planning something. She released the arrow at Sango. Sango saw it coming and dodged it just in time.

Miroku silently thanked kami that Sango had fast reflexes. He swung his staff to hit Kikyo knowing that his Houshi powers wouldn't work against her. Kikyo was able to dodge both of them.

Inuyasha saw the opportunity and made a run for the hut. He tried to run into the door but was thrown back a couple of feet. Kikyo had made a barrier around the hut. He was about to break it with the tetsusaiga. As soon as it turned red Kikyo stopped him.

"Break the shield and she dies." Kikyo said holding the point of an arrow to Sango's neck.

Miroku stopped all movement. His love was in the hands of their enemy at that very moment. "Let her go." Miroku said.

"As soon as Inuyasha moves away from the hut." Kikyo said. She applied pressure to Sango's neck making the arrow cut her slightly. Miroku stared in horror as he watched blood trickle down her neck.

Inuyasha growled but moved away from the hut. Kikyo smirked and pushed Sango away from her. She notched her arrow quickly just in case anyone tried anything. She gasped as an arrow barely missed her.

She looked at Kagome. She was panting heavily and her hands were placed in the air as if she was holding a bow. Kikyo aimed her arrow and released it. Kirara was able to pick Kagome up and jump away before it hit.

"I'll make you a deal." Kikyo said. "I'll give you your kids back if…"

"If what?" Inuyasha said. "What do you want?" No doubt it would be something he wouldn't give or do.

"I'll give your kids back if I can have Kagome's life." Kikyo said.

Read and Review. Yes I know another cliffy. I just realized how mean and crazy I made Kikyo. Scary. Some women do go that crazy over their ex love though. Trust me I've seen it and it's not pretty. They didn't try to kill anyone but it was still scary. Let me know what you think. Ja ne.
