Cycle of Mating

Summary: The cycle of demon mating has been going on for thousands of years. Not one demon complained about the consequences of their mating. Not one demon very much liked the choice of who their eternal mate is. Except one. The powerful dog demon lord isn’t too questionable about who his mate is, until he see’s she is his worst enemy. A human girl is his destined mate whether he likes it or not, he must claim her as his mate. There is no way out of it. Will she accept the fact that’s she is destined to be with a demon lord? Will he forget she is human and take her as his mate? What will others think about this ‘arrangement’?

“It would be splendid, let me know before tomorrow night so I can talk to my dear ex-mate about it. He would like to meet you.” With that Rin gave Sookie a hug then left, grabbing Chiyo’s hand and walking back to their house.

Chapter Two: Mystery Mate Revealed?

Rin and Chiyo walked into the house, setting down her bag Chiyo went to run over to couch and laid down. Rin smiled as she picked up her cousins bag and put it in the corner then walked over to the kitchen to see what her aunt wanted her to cook for the family. Looking at the note on the fridge she read it as she grabbed the meat from the fridge. Her aunt wanted spaghetti tonight, fun. Putting the unfrozen meat on the counter Rin grabbed the spaghetti sauce out of the pantry and the others ingredients for it.

Rin grabbed all the pots and pans she needed to make the food then she started. She looked over at her cousin who was grabbing the remote to turn on the TV but Rin grabbed it and said, “Chiyo, don’t you have homework to do?” Chiyo giggled as she gave Rin the puppy dog eyes.

“Aww, can’t I watch a little bit of TV before homework?” She begged as Rin shook her head, “Why not?”

“Aunt Mimi’s orders were to make sure you did your homework before TV and playtime. The faster you get that done then the faster you can start watching TV and playing with your friends!” Rin exclaimed as she carried the remote into the kitchen with her. Rin started to chop the garlic for the bread and opened the sauce for the flavor. This time her aunt wanted it a little bit spicy so she added spices and a few peppers.

Chiyo grabbed her bag and pulled out her binder, grabbing a full white paper with words and numbers covering both sides of it. She grabbed her pencil and started on the adding and subtracting on her homework. Her homework was easy, except the small numbers she had to multiply. They start a small section of division. The teachers wanted to start teaching the kids out to spell third grade words and do fifth grade problems. To prepare them for the real world.

Rin looked at her cousin get sort of frustrated with her homework. She turned off the finished sauce and stir the meat into it, putting the food on medium she walked over to her cousin and sat down next to her. “Would you like some help Sweetie?” She nodded her head as a tear slid down her cheek. Chiyo hated to getting things wrong or when she never understood what she was looking at, it frustrated her and annoyed her, much like Rin when she was her age. “What would you like my help on?” Chiyo pointed her small delicate finger to the problem, it was multiplication. “Well if five times one is five then what is five times two?” Rin read the problem to her. Chiyo lifted her fingers to show she was going to try to solve the problem. She doubled five which gave her ten, she wrote the answer on the paper and looked at Rin nodded her head, “That’s right Chi, now do that too all of them. Double it with two, like you know three times two is six, if you add three with three then you get six.”“So six times two is twelve right?” Her sweet voice whispered as Rin nodded her head as she gave her cousin a hug and kissed her forehead before getting back up.

“That’s right sweetheart, see you can do it. Your almost done, when you finished we will eat then you can watch TV.” Chiyo nodded her head as she concentrated on the problems in front of her.

Rin finished dinner just right when Chiyo finished her homework. They sat at the table eating then sat down on the couch to watch a little bit of TV. Chiyo claimed she was tired of watching TV, she wanted to go play with her friends, but no one was outside so she was forced to stay in and play with her dolls in her room. Rin was texting Aria and Suya as they were telling her what they decided to wear for their dates on Friday. Rin looked at the clock, it was ten minutes till six-thirty, she had to start practicing her piano, she had a recital in a month and the songs she was performing had to be perfect for the recital.

Sitting at her ordinary black piano, she placed her keys on the piano as she sighed then started playing. Just as she started playing the keys Chiyo runs over to the piano and sits down next to Rin. Rin laughed as she asked, “Chiyo you want to sing with me?”

Nodding her head automatically, Rin continued to play as Chiyo hummed the notes. “Ohhh….yeahh…” Rin hummed as she played the keys on the piano. She had made the notes for one of her favorite songs which might been in the recital, Angel’s On Earth. Naturally the song had drum beats and harp in the background, but she just played the song as a piano.

Chiyo hummed, “Ooohh…yeahh…” She sang, her voice humming in a soft tone.

Rin sang the song as Chiyo whistles and hummed the chorus, just as they were finishing the song the front door opens. Chiyo looks over to the front door and screams as she gets up and runs over to the overly tired women with bags in her hands. “mommy!!!” she goes to hug her when her mom puts the bags down and pulls her daughter into a tight embrace. “your home early mommy, I missed you!”

“I missed you too sweetheart!” she said then looked over to her niece who continued to play the piano, “It sounds wonderful dear.” She exclaimed as Rin turned to her then stopped playing, “My office let me leave early, it looks like you have everything in order.”

“Chi did her homework, we ate dinner, watched a bit of television, her friends weren’t outside so she stayed in and played the piano with me. She’s a great help in helping me practice.” Rin smiled as she watched her aunt release her cousin and bend down to get the bags, Rin ran over and rushed to the bags before she could get them, “let me get those for you Aunt Mimi.”

Mimi smiled as she nodded her head, “Thank you darling.” Mimi slowly walked over to the couch and sat down before Chiyo started running over to her sitting on her lap. Mimi looked stressed and tired, “How was school sweetie?” Chiyo smiled.

“My teacher said I did excellent in singing today. I’ve improved. I did.” Chiyo was overly excited about the complement her teacher gave her. “all the practice me and Rin has been doing is helping me improve and get better for the talent show in two weeks. Rinny is going to videotape me.”

“I’m glad Chi.” looking over to Rin she said, “and how was your day at school Rin?” Rin placed the bags on the counter, the ones she grabbed from her aunt. Turning to look face to face with her she said.

“My day was fine, a little problems here and there, but everything is great.” Rin moved her hand to open the bags to put the grocery items and other things away for her dear aunt, “I’ve been practicing my shots in archery, I believe I’m improving dramatically. I’m sure I’ll be ready for the Tournament in three weeks.”

Mimi smiled as she got up from her spot on the couch. She had taken off her shoes and set them by the door as she looked over to her niece who looked troubled on some level. Turning to her six year old child, she said, “Chi I believe it’s time for you to be getting ready for bed.” Chiyo frowned as she hopped out of her seat. Her face was lit with sadness. She hated to go to bed very early, but she also had to get up early tomorrow. Mimi had a business meeting at seven and have to drop Chiyo off at school earlier then normal, “Don’t frown Chiyo, you have to be up early tomorrow and I have to be at a meeting as well. I’ll see you sometime around four.” Mimi turned to her niece and said, “Can you watch her until I get home. I have a meeting with my boss and very important clients. Plus were having a lunch-in at one, I’ll be home around four-thirty or five. Not later then that.”

Rin nodded her head as she finished putting the last of the grocery items away. Rin smiled as Chiyo ran into her room. When everything was clear Mimi walked over to Rin as Rin poured herself some orange juice and sat down, “Aunt Mimi, I have a request?” Mimi looked at her, her blue eyes staring down at her nieces hazel ones. “Sookie Sadamoto asked if I could join her for dinner tomorrow night at her son’s estate, I wanted to know if I could go?” Mimi smiled as she made a little giggle with puzzled Rin.

“Rin, of course you can go to this dinner with Sookie. Sookie has been a dear friend to our family, and her little niece Akasha is good friends with Chiyo. I do thank you for asking me, but you don’t need to. I trust you and trust that Sookie will take great care of you, she always has.” Rin smiled, Mimi put her hand on Rin shoulder as she drank the orange juice. Mimi glanced down at Rin’s wrist to see her burn mark was fading, “My dear, it seems your mark is fading. Did anything interesting happen at school today?” Shaking her head, Mimi grabbed her wrist softly and examined the mark with her own eyes, “It was said that during the mating season, ones mate would find his beloved and the mark will start to fade. A connection is made and builds a stronger bond between the two, making it impossible to separate the two.”

Rin looked at her, her aunt knew so much, “Ms. Hakama told me the mark will fade as the connection is being built. I can feel the pull, its indescribable to me. I mean,” She looked over to her aunt and sighed, “Its so hard to ignore it, I can be concentrating on my studies one second and another second there’s this pull that makes it impossible for me concentrate on anything except…him” Looking up, her aunt smiles.

“So you basically have a clue who he is?” shaking her head, “No?”

“I have a idea on who he might be, I can’t be certain though.” Frowning she looked up at the clock as she yawned, “I still have a bit of homework to finish then off to bed I go.” Mimi nodded her head as Rin rose from her seat grabbing the empty glass of orange juice and walking to the kitchen to clean the glass, placing it in the dishwasher Rin gave her aunt a hug and kissed her goodnight. Rin grabbed her bag and steady walking to her room.

Opening the door Rin walked in and closed her door throwing her bag on her bed while walking to her dresser and grabbing a pair of black shorts and a white tank top. Rin unbuttoned her pants and threw off her shirt. She put on the shorts and the shirt on then placed her clothes she just took off in her dirty clothes basket she had to do laundry tomorrow, before she goes to dinner with Sookie. Jumping onto her soft bed Rin grabbed her book and started her math then finished the rest of her essay she had to do for one of her classes.

After a hour of finishing homework Rin put her homework away then got under her fluffy dark blue covers and closed her eyes to sleep. Allowing sleep to overcome her body.

Tuesday Morning 5:05 a.m.

Five o’clock a.m. came around, the sounds of her alarm clock woke the sleeping beauty from her dear sleep. Rin crawled out of bed as she turned off the raging roaring of her clock. Stretching out her arms, Rin yawned as she scrambled to her feet. Walking to her bathroom she looked at herself in the mirror then yawned once more. Glazing into the glimmering mirror, seeing her reflection from the other side. Her hair was almost messy and her eyes showed she was still tired. She stretched her arms once more before stripping of her sleepwear and turning on the water to her shower.

Placing her clothes in the hamper in her bathroom she steps into the shower to be met by a rushing of warm water. Rin pulled her head back and let the water pour onto her head and soak her long black hair. Leaning her head back to its normal position Rin runs her hands through the edges and ends of her hair. Sighing she grabs her coconut shampoo and pour a large amount into her hand, rubbing her hands together she puts the shampoo in her hair mixing it all over. Running her fingers through her hair to spread the shampoo throughout the ends of her hair.

Standing to the side where the water wasn’t hitting her, she stood there for a few minutes before rinsing out the shampoo and applying some conditioner this time. Her conditioner softens her hair, which gives it the smooth, silky look. After repeating the process over a few time Rin grabs her luffa and pours her coconut, raspberry cream shower gel into it. Rubbing her hands through it as well she moves the luffa all over her body, leaving no spot untouched, making sure she cleaned her body very well she does this process a few more times, which also made her small extra good.

After a half hour of being in the shower Rin turns off the water and grabs her towel. Wrapping it around her body she steps out of the shower and heads back inside her room. Rin hurried over to her closet in her towel dripping water all over the floor, she looks for the outfit she will decide to wear. When she went to grab a short, low cut dress her phone goes off. Someone texted her right as she got out the shower. She walked to look at the message and smiled.

From: Aria Somei
Message: Rin, wear your mini black skirt, I’m wearing mine. Suya and Ayame are wearing their white mini skirt and Kagome and Sango are wearing their pink one. We all want to look good for our men!!!
Time: 5:40 a.m. December 3, 2009

Rin looked at the message then nodded her head before texting her back and throwing her phone onto her bed.

To: Aria Somei
Message: Getting dressed right now. I had no idea on what to wear, thanks for giving me an idea on what to wear. My black skirt, with my black and white tanks and my pumps.
Time: 5:41 a.m. December 3, 2009

After writing her message Rin grabbed a pair of her black laced panties and a black lace bra. Drying her body she puts her panties on and her bra as her phone begins to vibrate on her bed once more. Rin ignored it for the moment as she straps the bra hooks. Rin walked across her room over to her dress to grab her spaghetti strap tank tops and her black mini skirt that was a bit shorter then her fingertips. But if she bent over her butt wouldn’t be all hanging out like the whores at her school.

Putting on her skirt and her tank tops that sort of made her breasts look bigger. Rin smiled in the mirror as she grabbed her lose jacket in the closet. The jacket was white, with black letters that said ‘Black is Beautiful’. the jacket was lose and not tight on her which she didn’t mind. She threw the jacket on her bed as she picked up her cold wet towels and threw them into the basket with all her other dirty clothes. Rin went back into her bathroom to look for her rollers which she was going to use. She found them in the bottom cabinet below her hairdryer which she used first then placed the rollers into her hair. The rollers will take at least thirty minutes to work and to fully curl her hair.

Meanwhile she had time to eat breakfast, brush her teeth, find her heels and lay down for a bit. School doesn’t start till 7:15 a.m. and her friends don’t come get her until 6:35 a.m. Rin found her heels at the end of her bed on the floor. She forgot she had worn them a few days before when she went to a party with her friends. After lotioning her legs, she put on her pumps, which were about three inches tall, with strap that wrap once around her ankle and shows the edges of her toes. Rin sat on her bed as her phone vibrated once more. She sighed as she looked at her phone.

From: Aria Somei
Message: Very cute dear. I’m almost ready. I’m thinking we leave early today to go get some star bucks and a muffin. I’m hungry. What do you say?
Time: 5:43a.m. December 3, 2009

Quickly texting her back Rin stared at her ceiling for a while until her alarm went off once more reminding her that it was time to take out her rollers. Rin pulled every roller out of her hair one by one. Even though the rollers made her hair super curly the length of her hair was still past her butt. After ten minutes of pulling the rollers out Rin walked to her bathroom in her heels and brushed her teeth. Once she was done she put on a light amount of black eye liner, not too much. Then applied mascara to her eye lashes that brought out her eyes more. And a light shade of grey eye shadow, you could barely see it. Then she put on some lip gloss. Smacking her lips as she walks out of her bathroom grabbing her bag and her books then hurried into the living room.

Mimi was in the kitchen drinking coffee. She smiled at Rin as she watched her niece walk out the front door. There she was greet by three overly excited girls, Aria, Suya and Ayame. She was told Kagome and Sango was running late, so they would have to meet up at school. Rin hopped in the front seat of Suya’s car as she pulled out the drive way of her house.

The four girls stopped at Star Bucks. Getting a total of six drinks and six muffins, four which were blue berry and two which were chocolate chip. Rin texted Kagome and told her to meet them at the locker. They drive off to school and pull into the somewhat empty parking lot. The cars they had saw yesterday was already there. They were twenty minutes early. Rin exited the car with her bag, books and muffin in one hand while drinking her frappecino, which was a vanilla bean. Looking over to her left she saw the same pair of golden eyes looking at her. She smiled as she walked to her locker.

As she hurried to her locker she drops her book. Attempting to pick it up someone picks it up for her. To her sudden surprise it was Hitoshi. Rin grabbed the book from his hand, not even thanking him, just rolling her eyes at him and continued on to her locker. “Wait Rin…” he ran over to her. Kagome was at the locker and helped open Rin’s locker so Rin can put her books down, which she did. Rin turned to him while her hands were empty, “I wanted to apologize for yesterday, I was out of line.”

“Don’t try to apologize to me now Hitoshi. I don’t want to hear it. I have better things to do then to be standing here talking to you.” Turning to look at her locker she grabbed her drink and took a sip.

“I know what I did was wrong, and I thought the best way to…fix our friendship was to apologize.”

“Wrong…there is no friendship anymore. I have better things to do Hitoshi.” Hitoshi looked at her, his eyes changed into a sad look, Rin closed her locker then pushed him out of her way, walking the other direction. As she walked off he attempted to take a grasp of her hand when she turned around, her hand came in contact with his right cheek, “do not touch me Hitoshi, this will be your last warning.”

“Rin….” She walked away and into the brown building across from the lockers. Hitoshi shook his head and walked off, not noticing the death glares he received from the demon across from him. Sesshomaru gave him a look that if he noticed it he would probably be cowering to his knees in fear.

When he turned his red glare to Rin she was no longer in sight. When Hitoshi walked off that satisfied him to know that the human man wasn’t following her now. He walked the way she walked, glazing at her friends who followed close behind him. Kagome was in her own world and she was waiting for his pathetic brother. Aria wanted to know why he was so interested in her friend, Suya was the same. Ayame was concentrating on controlling the feeling she felt when her soon-to-be mate was around. And Sango, well she was arguing in the parking lot with Miroku, over something stupid probably. Sesshomaru noticed their presence the second they started walking in behind him. He figured they were going to find their friend but his thoughts were wrong when they continued to follow him. Sesshomaru growled as they continued to follow him. Aria and Suya wanted him to admit his reasoning on following their friend.

Aria had wanted to just go up to him to talk to him, but he seemed to be the type that never spoke unless it was necessary, but that would have to change if he was destined to be with Rin. Sure Rin was the girl that had the brains, the rocking body and the sweet characteristics, but she doesn’t deserve to be with the asshole boyfriend who will neglect her and take advantage of her. Her friend will not be ignored.

While following the great demon around Suya started thinking it wasn’t necessary to ruin a perfect connection between her friend and her soon to be mate, even when she has no clue that he is her mate. But she did believe that Aria and herself needed to make some boundaries between this demon they know nothing about and her friend. Because if something were to happen it would be all crashing down on Rin and not them. So some boundary lines were needed.

Sesshomaru was irritated with their presence, he would sense them even when they weren’t three feet behind him. When he stopped in the middle of the hall they cowered behind the wall. He disappeared between the halls, waiting for them to show their face to look for him once more. But he caught on to their game, ignoring everything else he moved swiftly in front of them, close enough to hear their gasps.

“Your lack of sense is bothersome!” he growled sending shivers down Aria’s spine.

Aria rolled her eyes as she opened her mouth to speak, “And you constant glares toward her is bothersome!” she came back at him with just as much of force as he had “I’ve felt your glare, I could tell when you were and wasn’t looking at her.”

Suya looked at Aria while feeling the demonic aura building around Sesshomaru, she could feel Aria’s as well. They both gave off a strong aura that was as strong as a fighting demon. “Aria calm down, you need not to get mad…”

Ignoring her protest Aria’s green eyes locked in on the grin Sesshomaru gave as he growl through his fang’s. “It’s been a day now, today makes the second day, when do you think will be the right time to tell her, huh?” Sesshomaru growled, he hated the fact that her friends were getting in their business. “you’ve had all this time to tell her, or even try to communicate with her, Rin will not be that girl that will be neglected by her mate because her pompous ass mate is a jerk.”

“This is none of your concern.” He said as she growled stepping forward before Suya held her back and said.

“Aria calm yourself.” Suya screamed, her voice echoing throughout the halls. She turned her glaze to the demon in front of her, “And you, Rin can feel the pull, and I know you can feel it as well, I can feel the strange connection both of your bodies are making, it is strong, but you had yet to make it apparent to Rin.” Sesshomaru growled, but Suya continued, “As one of Rin friends we need to be worried about her, there little humans that are destined to be a mate to a demon…”

“This is none of your concern.” He stated once more.

“Oh but it is…” Aria growled, “You see, Rin is one of the prettiest humans we know and seen, she could have whoever she wants, she can easily replace you with, I don’t know…Hitoshi…” Right when she said Hitoshi’s name Sesshomaru growled and slammed her into the wall closest to her.

Her green eyes glaring at his crimson red ones. His eyes were cold, as his glare glazed over her. “Never again will you mention that pathetic humans name in my presence again!” he growled. She shook. She could tell by the look in his eyes that he was protective of his property, even when he didn’t want her.

“Rin is more then what people think of her, she deserves more, don’t you dare even think about hurting her.” Aria pushed him away as the bell rang. Sesshomaru walked away. His aura had yet to disappear, Aria felt his inner demon, and it was angry. “Suya, he’s very protective of her, their connection has gotten stronger…” Aria looked at her, “he cares for her, but too damn stubborn to admit it.”

The bell had already rang causing the hallways to fill up seconds later, Suya looked at Aria then said, “We will not repeat any of this to Rin. If Rin learns of what just went on here, the connection will be destroyed. We can’t let her get hurt, this bond is what has kept her stabled and alive all these years.” Aria nodded her head as they headed toward their class. Sesshomaru had walked into the room a minute after the bell rang. Aria sat in her seat while texting Rin back and forth. Suya was doing the same. Rin was feeling weak at the time, she could feel the pull stronger then what it was yesterday.

It was different this time, as if she knew who he was. The pull was strong, but very noticeable. Rin looked over to Sesshomaru then turned while pulling out her phone. No message. She looked over to the door to see Hitoshi walking in and over to his seat next to her. She placed her bag and books on the seat and rolled her eyes before getting up to go talking to the teacher.

The teacher moves Hitoshi in the back, right behind Sesshomaru. He couldn’t even see Rin from his seat. Sesshomaru growled every time he felt Hitoshi’s eyes wanting to look Rin’s way. Mizu walked into the room right as the bell rang. Aria smiled as she lost herself in her own dreams. She was still in disbelief that they had a date on Friday, that he would actually say yes to her request. Mizu sat on Sesshomaru’s other side as the teacher got up from her desk and started walking around the room handing back the test from the day before.

Rin looked at her test and smiled then cheered when she saw the grade. Her teacher gave her extra credit for working out all the problems, on top of that she got a ‘A-’ on it. Aria looked away from Mizu over to her overly excited friend. “Rin what you get on your test?” Aria asked as she glared at her friend.

“An ‘A-’ with a bit of extra credit…” her voice was soft. Sesshomaru could hear it even through the soft and gentleness of it. Rin stared at Aria and smiled, “what about you aria, what did you get?” Aria smiled, as she held up her paper.

Rin giggled when she saw the grade, “I got a ‘B’ I didn’t study on Sunday. But I know you did, you were up all night studying weren’t you?” Rin nodded her head as she turned around to face front when the teacher begun speaking to her class.

Tuesday 11:35: Lunch

Aria and Rin waited at their table for the rest of their group to arrive. Rin had got her lunch and Aria just bit into an apple as she stared across the quad, there she found Sesshomaru leaning against a tree, his eyes were closed, but he looked liked he was keeping an eye on Rin. Making sure she stayed out of trouble. Suya ran over to the table and sighed, as she took out her tube of fresh fruit.

“Suya are you alright?” Rin asked as she continued eating her lunch, biting into her green apple in front of her while looking across the quad as well to find Sesshomaru just leading against the tree. She couldn’t feel the pull, it wasn’t strong, maybe it was because he was so far away from her. She had a feeling that he was her destiny. When he wasn’t near her she felt her heart tug and cry out to him.

Suya looked at Rin and turned to look at what she was looking at. “I’m fine Rin, are you okay?” Nodding her head turned her sight to her friends. Kagome was at the snack bar talking to Sesshomaru’s brother Inuyasha, they were laughing, looked like they were flirting, “Can you believe after one day Kagome is already digging her claws into him?” Aria shook her head, knowing if Kagome saw what she liked she would go after it. She did the same thing with her ex-boyfriend Hojo. “She already knows he is her soon-to-be mate, but shouldn’t she be taking it easy, getting to know him and getting to know his family and such. I mean flirting should be the last thing on her mind.”

“Suya what do you expect that Kagome for you.” Aria said as she looked at her then at Rin and back at Suya, “How are things with you and Takashi?”

Suya blushed as his name slipped from her friends mouth. “We have a little date on Friday, around the same time your’s is with Mizu, were going to hang out after school tomorrow, and were meeting in the study hall today for lunch…” Right when she mentioned Study Hall she dashed out of her seat and collected all her things, “I forgot we were meeting today. Dammit!” Suya hurried putting all her things together then rushed to the Library and over to the area that had huge bold letters with STUDY HALL on the door.

Rin giggled as Aria moved to sit in front of Rin, “So Rin, how’s it going finding your mysterious man?” Trying to make it seem like she doesn’t know already.

“I’m not sure, I’m still unsure Aria, I’m so confused. He could be anyone, what if I’m wrong, I’m going to feel so stupid.” Rin put her head into her hands as she sighed, “the pull is so strong today, I can’t explain it, it’s just keeps getting stronger.”

Aria nodded in understanding, then said, “Don’t feel stupid Rin. I’m pretty sure your on the right track, I can feel a connection your making with him, even though you can’t feel it, I can, my demon instincts don’t lie.” Trying to give her a hint to talk to Sesshomaru, but Rin was too shy, too demure. “The longer you wait Rin the more it will hurt being so far away from him, even when he’s two inches away from you. You can’t continue waiting, the pull will get stronger and soon you won’t be able to ignore it, your body will call out to him, your going to end up crying for him, begging him to come for you.” Rin nodded her head as she understood what she was saying. But Sesshomaru seemed too serious, too calm, he didn’t look like he was looking for her.

Rin groaned as she went to change the subject, “So Aria, do you remember Sookie?” nodding her head, “Well she invited me to have dinner with her at her ex-mate’s and her son’s estate. I feel so honored.” Aria looked at her then smiled.

Not really knowing what to say about the dinner Aria bit into her apple once more then said, “That’s wonderful Rin, didn’t you tell me once that she used to be mated to a powerful dog demon of the west, but he had strange feelings for a human?” Rin nodded her head.

“Her mate had removed the mating mark from her neck, because of his feelings for this human. He couldn’t explain what he felt, but he knew for sure that his heart didn’t belong to Sookie any more, so he left.” Rin smiled as she continued her story, looking back over to that tree Sesshomaru was leaning against before, but he wasn’t there any more, “Sookie seems so fine with it, she said she holds no anger, no hatred for her mate, well ex-mate, nor does she hate his human mate now, what was done was done.” Rin finished her apple before saying, “He promised her he would keep her safe and protect their son.”

Aria was confused on why he would feel the need to keep her safe, “Rin, did Sookie ever say why he promised her that?”

“She was his first mate, and they had a son together, there will always be that small fragment of feelings between them. At the time when he made the promise to keep her safe and to protect their son there was a war, that threatened his family.” Rin opened her bottle of water and drank from it. “But enough of that, Aunt Mimi won’t be home until after Chiyo gets out of school, so Sookie will meet me at my house and we will go together, her son lives in these huge estates, that you need a pass code to get through it, they don’t let just anyone to get into the main gates.”

Aria smiled as she grabbed her water and drank from it as well. Then looked across the courtyard to find Mizu talking to Hitoshi. She got up and said, “I’m going to go talk to Mizu, see if we can study for our exam after school.” Rin nodded as she watched her friend collect her things and went running toward him, Hitoshi moved over to the side only to be pushed to the ground, all his stuff being knocked to the ground. Rin laughed as she too collected her things and went walking to the library. Throwing away her fully eaten apple and her now empty water bottle Rin started walking toward the library doors. Dropping her books she didn’t need no longer and grabbing the ones she did need in her locker just before she walked through the library doors.

Walking through the large doors, she felt the nice, cool breeze hit her face as she looked around to see not many people were there. Suya and Takashi were in the corner talking, they were laughing, Suya’s face was red from her laughter, and Takashi had laid on her knee as they continued to laugh. Smiling she walked over to the myth section of the library with was like a quarter of the library. She read most of the books about demons, and dragons, and about the warriors back in the 1400’s. Dropping her stuff on a empty table Rin walked into the section looking in the D listings of the section. There she found four books about dog demons, two books about the lords and ladies of the dog demon clan, and found exactly one book on dog demon mating.

Rin grabbed the book on dog demons, a book on the lords and ladies of their time, and the book of their mating rituals and such. She wanted to read about their culture. She knew that if Sesshomaru was her mate then she would have to know at least a little about his kind, his clan. Sookie taught her a lot about her clan, when she was still mated with her son’s father, how her family survived through the hundreds of years of being alive. She learned a lot about their kind, but she wanted to know more.

Rin carried the books to the front desk to see the librarian sitting on her butt reading a plain old fashion magazine. Looking up to see Rin’s bright face, she smiled as she leaned over and took the books from Rin and said, “My dear, are you doing a research paper on the Dog Demon Clan’s?” shaking her head, “Then why the curiosity about them?”

“I really am curious about their clan’s, how they survived so many years ago. I’m friends with one of the Ladies of the dog demon clan in the west. I want to learn more about their culture and their clan’s, I want to know more then what my teachers teach us.” The librarian nodded her head as she scanned the books.

“There’s a book store on Elk Avenue, there is so much more books about demons, or particular demons like a dog demons for example. You should check it out.” Nodding her head Rin grabbed the books.

“Thank you Miss Aoi.” Rin turned to walk back to her back pack and the table she set it at. Picking it up, she put it on then carried her books out the library. Miss Aoi watched her leave the library, smiling curiously at her. Never in her life has she ever seen a human with a burn mark attempt to know a demon culture, Rin proved her that her instinct weren’t always right about humans. Rin was different from her kind. She wanted to know of the demon world, she already took so many classes on demon history and mythological classes that was filled with demon and the humans that were just there for the credit.

Rin walked back to her locker after leaving the library to put all her books away. She bumped into someone as she walked in front of her locker. Looking up to see brown eyes glaring down at her, “What do you want Hitoshi?” She kneeled down to pick up her books. He grabbed them before her. She stood up brushing the dirt from her knees, then flipping her hair backwards before saying, “Why are you even over here Hitoshi? Have I not made it clear enough that I don’t want you in my life? I don’t want to be your friend, I want nothing to do with you!”

Hitoshi looked at her, holding onto her books she just got from the library, “you made it perfectly clear, but you haven’t gave me the chance to explain my actions!” he almost shouted before making Rin back away from. “I’ve apologized already, why can’t you forgive me Rin?” Hitoshi said, his voice sounded calmer. Rin snatched her books from his hands before slapping him.

“You creep me out Hitoshi. I don’t want to be anywhere near you, I’m afraid to be around you!” she screamed as the bell for the end of the lunch rang, “That’s the bell, I have to go…” she went to walk away from him, he grabbed her hand, she snatched it away from him as she said, “just leave me alone Hitoshi, there is no longer a friendship here so go on with your life.”

And with that she walked away, she would be late if she put her books in her locker. She started pacing toward her gym class. Almost dropping all her books in her hands. She saw Aria and Mizu next to the entrance of the girls locker room, they were talking, Aria was exchanging number with him, after giggling to something that was probably not even funny Aria walked into the locker room and let Mizu get to his class. Mizu stayed by the door as went running to the opened door that soon closed. Rin sighed as she attempted to open the door, instead of having Rin open the already closed door, Mizu opened it for her.

Rin thanked him as she hurried into the locker room to be greeted by her teacher and her friends. Walking by her locker Rin sighed as she sat down on the bench and set her books down before saying, “Stupid Hitoshi made me almost late. I couldn’t even put my books into my locker. Now I have to carry them to the rest of my classes.” Rin groaned as Aria and Suya picked up one of the books.

“Rin what’s with the books?” Suya asked as she looked into it, scanning the pages to look for a bit of information on what the book was about. As she read she saw the words, Dog Demons in bold letters on the front page, “Rin are these books all about dog demons?” Rin nodded her head as she opened her locker, “And why in the world would you be reading about dog demons?”

Aria was reading the book about the tribes and the clans, setting the opened book on the bench as she opened her locker as well and started undressing herself as she read on, “This is interesting information about dog demons!” She exclaimed as she continued to read and put on her shorts at the same time. “Did you know certain dog demon clans produced a poisonous poison that runs in their blood, and is exposed during fights or…” she put on her shirt then finished her sentence, “or when they place the mating mark on their mates neck, which their blood and poison will have to mix to become one?” Aria sat down on the bench as she put on her running shoes, “This is very interesting!” She stated as she tied the knots of her shoes.

Suya looked at Rin, “Well, why exactly are you so interested in Dog Demons, and their clan.” Suya asked as she tied the knots into her shoes as well. She was all dressed for gym class today.

Aria didn’t even wait for Rin to answer the question, she basically attempted to answer it for her, “I bet it’s because her mysterious man, that saves her butt every time she’s in trouble is a full fledge dog demon.” Aria giggled as Rin hit her with her shirt, staring over to the other side of the locker room to find her teacher walking in to talk to them.

“Girls get dressed in only your shorts and sports bra, were going to play a few activities that will wear you out if your wearing your gym shirts.” She shouted throughout the locker room, making sure all the girls heard her. Once she realized they all did, she walked back to her office to grab a few things. Before she walked out of the locker doors she shouted, “Meet on the tennis court so I can see who’s here and divide you girls in three different groups.”

Rin was only in her sports bra and shorts in the first place. She put on her black running shoes then grabbed all her books, nearly snatching one of the books from Aria, she was so interested in the book as well. “I’m doing a little research on dog demons because Sookie is a dog demon, she told me so much about her clan and the history of her family, I want to learn more, it’ll be sort of a hobby for me.” Rin told them the truth, but not all the truth. She knew of the connection that she was making with Sesshomaru, she wanted to make sure if he was the one that she would know more about his clan then know nothing at all.

All the girls walked out the locker room with water and extra hair ties in their hands. They all walked out the locker room, all in their sports bras. Rin and her friends were all matching, black shorts, black sports bra and a pair of black running shoes. They all raced each other to the tennis court, Rin won as usual. Looking out toward the field, the guys were lined up for football and basketball. Rin saw Sesshomaru was in a pair of white hakama pants and no shirt. Her eyes went wide as he turned toward her, she saw a full view of his shirtless body.

Gasping, her mouth was a little open. Aria looked at her, while closing her friend’s mouth then told her to concentrate. But when Aria saw Mizu, she almost went crazy. She saw his light brown skin, his chest was muscular, he had a red scar on the right side of his chest, it looked almost like a birth mark, it was the same mark she had on her hand except his was bigger. Her eyes feasted on his shirtless toned body.

The teacher came running outside the doors with a whistle in her hand. She blew into the whistle making the girls spread out into their formations, eight single lines with four or five people in each line. Rin was the first person in the third row. Kagome was the last girl in her row, Aria and Suya were in the last row, Aria was first, Suya was behind a girl that was right behind Aria, the girl separated Aria and Suya. Ayame was the last girl in the last row. Kagome was in the fifth row and Sango was in the row next to hers.

Mrs. Faorii marked the girls that weren’t there absent then placed her notes, and roll call on the floor as she clapped her hands and saying, “Alright girls, there are eight girls missing today, that’s a lot, but I can split you up better this way. “ Walking back and forth in front of her students, she grin as she talks once more, “Row three, six and eight will join the boys in the field, you will play a few games of football.” Rin looked back to see who was playing football. Sesshomaru and Mizu was one, she saw Hitoshi walking to the coach to talk to him. “Row two and four will go join the boys on the volleyball court and play a few games with them.” Suya sighed as she was relieved that she didn’t have to play volleyball. The guys strike the ball too hard, but now she had to play football, “Row five will join the guys on the basketball court and play a few games there as well.” Kagome nearly jumped up in excitement. Inuyasha was playing basketball. “Last I had to add a game of soccer because of the number of girls missing, so the last rows one and seven will play a innocent game of soccer on the far left field.”

The girls separated and went running to their activity station. Rin and Aria slowly walked over to the field. Rin stopped in the middle of the court as she saw Hitoshi getting suited up to play football. Suya grabbed the jerseys for the girls as the guys stayed shirtless. Ayame talked to Koga before the game started. Suya gave Rin a small pink jersey, as she herself put on one as well. Aria was all suited up.

As the teacher blew the whistles for the games to start Rin and her team huddled up to make a plan, “Alright, I guess we should just run for the finish line, get past the guys, I’m not sure if we will be able to tackle them, but we can sure try.”

After making up a plan Rin, Aria, Suya and another girl who went by the name of Alannaya Somoko came face to face with four of the guys of their team. Which the guys were Koga, Hitoshi, Sesshomaru and Mizu. Aria smiled as she looked over to Suya then whispering hoping he didn’t hear her, “I get Mizu, I’ll bring him down!” She exclaimed, looking at him, he had a huge smile on his lips. He heard her. She blushed as Rin looked up, not even looking at Sesshomaru her aim was for Hitoshi.

“ Well, well, well seems like the girls want to play!” Hitoshi said as he looked at Rin, “You sure your up for a little game of football with us?”

Rin smiled as she said in a annoyed tone, “Positive!” She backed away before saying, “Girl’s ball…” Hitoshi threw her the ball, Rin caught it as she gave Aria and Suya the signal to go for the ball, the other six girls on their team were separated out on the field, they were readying themselves for a tackle opportunity.

Grabbing a hold of the ball Rin closed her eyes, reopening them as she backed up and threw the ball over to Suya, Suya went to run for it, but she was only inches from Sesshomaru’s grasp. Rin grasped as she went running after them both. Suya was almost to the finish line when Sesshomaru sent her tumbling into the ground. Suya got up and gave him a glare that she wish she hadn’t done. Rin helped her up and changed her and Suya’s position. Suya threw the ball to have Rin catch it, Rin ran for the finished line when both Sesshomaru and Hitoshi went after her.

Sesshomaru growled as he caused Hitoshi to trip, he too went tumbling into the green grass. Getting back on his feet he screamed out to Sesshomaru, “What the hell, were on the same team?” Sesshomaru growled as he went after Rin.

Rin turned to look at who was following her and gasped Sesshomaru was hot on her trail, Suya and Aria stopped running to watch Rin and Sesshomaru go face on. Sesshomaru went to leap for Rin when she dashed running to the side and flipped away from his strong arms.

Aria stood there and laughed, Hitoshi was standing next to her when he groaned as he saw Sesshomaru grabbed a hold of Rin and caused her to fall inches away from the line. Rin cursed herself as Sesshomaru helped himself up and helped her up. Aria saw Hitoshi’s face when their hands touched, and he grinded his teeth nearly growling when he saw the way Rin looked at him. “Jealous Hitoshi?” He looked at Aria and shrugged his shoulder, “Seems like Rin found her mystery man, looks like you lose…again…”

Hitoshi groaned as he watched Rin locking her hazel eyes in Sesshomaru’s golden ones. Hitoshi went running after the two to say something to Sesshomaru. Aria and Suya noticed this and went running after him. Rin turned her head as her eyes went wide, causing Sesshomaru to look at what she was staring at. He saw the human male that had made attempts to get Rin to date him running toward them. Hitoshi stopped in front of the two of them, grabbing the ball that was on the ground.

Aria and Suya stood behind him, Aria went walking in front of him, snatching the ball from his hands. Hitoshi looked over to Sesshomaru, “Why the hell did you trip me? Were on the same exact time!” Hitoshi yelled causing all the fields and guys on the field to look at him. Sesshomaru growled causing Hitoshi to back up for a moment, “I’m not afraid of you!”

With another growl sending Hitoshi scooting back a few more steps. Sesshomaru went walking in front of him, Rin noticed it, so she scooted in between them both, “Lets get back to the game, shall we?” Pushing both of the guys in different directions. Rin went to run to the other direction, so they can start on another pass, Sesshomaru had his eyes locked on her.

Rin smiled as she stayed on the opposite side of Sesshomaru. She tried to make herself not too vulnerable to him. If she stayed too close to him she wouldn’t be able to get far, plus her mind wouldn’t concentrate. Her thoughts were going back and forth from the dinner that was that night and what had just happened. The heated tension seemed to grow even after both of the guys were away from each other. Hitoshi was the type of guy to continue a fight until he won, but this was a battle that he would surely lose.

Sesshomaru was able to kill Hitoshi with a swift of his claws. His claws contained poison and if they entered Hitoshi’s body, he could die from them. Sesshomaru was able to leave permanent scars all over Hitoshi’s body if they continued their little ‘fight’, and could injure him critically, sending him into the emergency room for surgery or something. Rin couldn’t stand Hitoshi, but she couldn’t let him get hurt like that, she would feel bad,

So Rin attempted to cure the problem between the two. Pulling them away from each other. But choosing sides made it worse. She was on Sesshomaru’s side, which made Hitoshi mad. She wasn’t going to choose Hitoshi, why would she do something like that? That would have been such a stupid idea. Siding with Sesshomaru was the best option, he seemed concentrated more on her then Hitoshi. As if he was pulling himself toward her, which made Hitoshi jealous and want to fight with him to win her heart. But she knew that if he started a fight Sesshomaru looked like he would kill him without even thinking about it, or if he had gone after something that was his. Which was her. Killing Hitoshi wouldn’t solve a thing though.

Rin stood on the other side of the field next to Alannaya and another girl. Sango was across from her just staring at her, hoping she knew what she was doing. She seemed lost in her own little world. Sango called out to Rin as she looked at her then over to Aria and Suya who was standing by two of the guys on the other team.

Aria and Suya stood by the other guys, they had watched everything hat happened a few minutes ago. They thought about the situation. They laughed when Hitoshi said he wasn’t afraid of Sesshomaru. Sure looked like it, he backed away from him as soon as he started growling. He wasn’t all macho and tough, he was just a weak human. Aria stared at Hitoshi who stared at Rin the whole time as she took the ball in her hand and closed her eyes, thinking of what she should do. Reopening her eyes she growled at Hitoshi who turned to face her as she threw the ball over to Rin who jumped in midair to catch the ball.

Hitoshi ran after Rin, he tripped over one of the other players as they ere running for her as well. One of the girls on their time had fallen over when Hitoshi tripped, causing her to tumble into the grass and scrapping her knee. She growled as she pushed him away from him, “You asshole, you nearly killed me…” Rin heard what she said as she helped herself up after Hitoshi did the same. Hitoshi attempted to help her up, but she pushed him down onto the ground and went running after the guys going after her. “Don’t touch me jerk.” She yelled as she jumped up into the air and went to grab one of the guys that was close to getting Rin. She grabbed his shoulder and threw him onto the ground.

He looked at her as she smiled then went after another guy. She was a strong demon, but not nearly as strong as the other male demons on the field. She went running after Sesshomaru next. She was stupid enough to go after him, thinking she could tackle him into the grass, but her attempt failed as she was tackled into the ground by him. Sesshomaru forced her down into the ground as he speed up, running close behind Rin, He went to grab her when Aria and Suya went after him.

Dodging the two charging women, Aria held out her hand, trying to scratch him wit her claws, as she was close enough to grab him out of the blue she was grabbed and forced into the grass under a muscular body. She looked up as she ground then gasped. Mizu had tackled her into the grass. Mizu smiled as he refused to let her up, he kept her in the grass. He wanted his team to win, but he also wanted to be closer to the women beneath him. Suya stopped running and looked at Aria then over to Rin where she saw her rolling in the grass.

Sesshomaru had tackled her into the grass. By the looks of it he had pulled her down when he jumped into the air. Didn’t look like she was hurt, but she needed to check. “Come on Aria, lets make sure Rin’s okay!”

Aria nodded her head, as Mizu allowed her to get up. She rushed past him and past the emotionless demon that had tackled her friend. Suya was by her side helping her up. Rin smiled as she spoke, “Dammit, I was close.” She looked over to Suya and Aria, “So close…”

Tuesday Evening: 12:45 p.m.

After gym class Rin was all sweaty from all the running she had done and all the playing in the grass while she was outside playing football. Her skin felt itchy, after being tackled into the grass multiple times she felt that she needed a shower before going to her to her classes. A shower would do her good, get all the grass off her, and to clean off all the sweat from her body. Rin grabbed all the accessories she needed for her shower and went walking over to the stalls where the showers were. Aria and Suya thought it was best they did the same thing. They were tackled to the ground not as much as Rin, but they were playing rough with the other demons while playing football.

Kagome, Sango, and Ayame thought it would be best to shower along with their friends as well. They were all dirty from the rough playing and from the sweat they got from being outside. Surprisingly it was sort of warm outside, it was winter and it should start getting cold by tomorrow or the next few days. Rin grabbed all her body washes she had in her locker and a extra pair of clean clothes that she had on her top shelf just in case she needed it like today. She walked over to the stalls and saw her friends were saving her a shower and had already started their shower.

The locker room showers were private only a few girls were able to use them at a time. There was eight showers, not all of them were being used, two were open for the ones that would like to take a shower now. Rin set her clothes on a dry stool outside her shower, and placed her lotions right next to it as well. Entering the shower, she washed her body and her hair, making sure all the sweat was out of her hair and off her body before going to her next classes. Rin twisted the knob of the shower and turned off the water minutes later. She had washed her body with her wild cherry blossom and bamboo scrub.

After the shower Rin changed into a mini black skirt, similar to the one she had came to school in. she had a black and white spaghetti strap tank tops. She had on a new set of white laced bra and panties as well. Rin dried her hair and brushed it out. She had bought a extra straightener and curling iron and brought them to school just in case she needed to use them after gym and right now she did. She didn’t have enough time to curl her hair again so she just decided to straighten it and be off to class.

Once her hair was all finished Rin put all her clothes that she worn this morning in a bag and set them in the back of her locker. She will come to get the clothes on Friday when school is over and when she has to walk home. That way she can wash them for the next time she would want to wear her skirt again, or maybe her tank tops.

Rin looked at herself in the mirror. She applied a little bit of make up to her face, finishing it off with a light dab of light pink sparkling lip gloss. Rin looked over to Aria, she was texting someone, she had a clue on who it was, she giggled as she grabbed the books that were stuffed in her locker then said, “I see your getting to know Mizu very well.” Rin smiled as she turned and put the books down on the bench behind her, Grabbing her lotion, she begun lotioning her legs.

“We are actually. He agreed to take me home after school so we can study the material that will be on our exam that’s on Friday.” Aria shut her locker as Rin put her lotion back in her locker then slammed the locker closed and closed the lock. “He’s really sweet, and he is a complete gentlemen!” she nearly screamed as she put her hand over her mouth, “oops!” She whispered.

The next bell rang as Rin giggled and grabbed her books and told her friends she will meet them in class, she had to go to her locker to drop off all her books.

Author’s Note: Hey everyone, took awhile to finish. I had everything already planned out and what I wanted to write, but I just haven’t been in the mood to write for the past few days. Ever since I started my vacation I’ve been, well, quite lazy you can say.

Well I hope you liked this chapter. I happen to like to write a lot, so my apologies for writing too much. Next chapter is the chapter I’ve been waiting to write, the dinner party. Lets see how a dinner that made Rin totally excited for turns into a awkward dinner.
