Cycle of Mating
Summary: The cycle of demon mating has been going on for thousands of years. Not one demon complained about the consequences of their mating. Not one demon very much liked the choice of who their eternal mate is. Except one. The powerful dog demon lord isn’t too questionable about who his mate is, until he see’s she is his worst enemy. A human girl is his destined mate whether he likes it or not, he must claim her as his mate. There is no way out of it. Will she accept the fact that’s she is destined to be with a demon lord? Will he forget she is human and take her as his mate? What will others think about this ‘arrangement’?

Recap of the previous chapter
“We are actually. He agreed to take me home after school so we can study the material that will be on our exam that’s on Friday.” Aria shut her locker as Rin put her lotion back in her locker then slammed the locker closed and closed the lock. “He’s really sweet, and he is a complete gentlemen!” she nearly screamed as she put her hand over her mouth, “oops!” She whispered.
The next bell rang as Rin giggled and grabbed her books and told her friends she will meet them in class, she had to go to her locker to drop off all her books.
Chapter Three: Awkward Dinner
Tuesday Evening: After School
2:45 came around a few hours later. Rin returned to her classes after dropping off her extremely heavy and large books to her locker. Rin was relieved that school was over and she didn’t have to worry about anything else until tomorrow morning, when another day started over again, once again ending the same. But Rin’s mind was on bigger things. Like the dinner party that was in a few hours. She was very excited that she get to have a night out, without having to take her cousin along with her, just her and Sookie together with her ex-mate and their son together.
Rin’s mind was so concentrated on the dinner tonight, that she didn’t notice what was happening around her. Rin was walking away from her lockers, she had to get her three books and her bag from her locker. Her heels were clicking on the ground as she walked past Kagome. Kagome waved at her, but she didn’t seem to notice, her mind was somewhere else. Kagome was sitting at a small table outside the library doors near the lockers, she was waiting for Inuyasha. He was taking her to his place to meet his parents. She wasn’t too thrilled to meet his parents before their actual date, but she didn’t care as long as she got to spend her time with him.
As Rin walked out the school yard, stopping at the cross walk. Watching three or four cars go by, Rin took the opportunity to walk on the cross walk after the last car went past her. Yawning for a second Rin continued her walk, remembering not to go down the same alley had gone through yesterday. That demon had pinned her to the wall, attempting to rape her and hurt her. Sesshomaru had saved her though. The demon had hit her in her face yesterday which left a bruise, but somehow the bruise went away.
It took Rin a good ten minutes to get home. She rushed to her house, opening her door, placing her keys on the counter and her books on the coffee table. She closed the door and nearly fell over on her couch. She yawned as she looked at her watch. She had a hour to go get Chiyo from school and a hour to rest before meeting with Sookie to go to the dinner. Rin was so psyched about the dinner party, mostly because she was able to get out of her house to do something interesting, even if it is a little dinner party with a friend of her families. Instead of having to go to school, and practice, or to watch Chiyo and practice the piano for hours she got to be with people, demons to be precise.
And what excited Rin more was the fact that she can ask Sookie questions about the courting and mating with demons. She can learn a little more about the demon culture from Sookie. She can learn more about dog demons. There’s so many questions she had, and little time to ask. Maybe Sookie’s old mate can answer some of her questions as well. He is a great lord from the west, who best to ask then a demon lord himself.
Rin laid on her couch looking at the binding of the book in front of her. She wasn’t sure if she wanted to read it or sleep instead. It wasn’t much of a choice for her, she was exhausted and tired from school. What was worse all day Hitoshi couldn’t take a hint that she wanted nothing to do with him. But something had been bothering her ever since Aria said it.
I can feel a connection your making with him, even though you can’t feel it, I can, my demon instincts don’t lie. Ever since Aria told her that Rin had been thinking crazy. And had been trying to figure things out. What was worse was when Aria continued on talking to her about it, The longer you wait Rin the more it will hurt being so far away from him, even when he’s two inches away from you. You can’t continue waiting, the pull will get stronger and soon you won’t be able to ignore it, your body will call out to him, your going to end up crying for him, begging him to come for you. Aria’s words were ringing in and out of her mind. She just didn’t understand that if Sesshomaru was the one she was destined to be with for the rest of her life, why hasn’t he came for her, like Mizu, Takashi or Koga did? That was what she didn’t understand.
Sighing to herself, she turned her head from the book for a moment, then looked at her phone. She had no messages, and a missed call from Sookie. Rin smiled as she decided to call her back and tell her that she was coming. Rin called her and hung up off the phone two minutes later. Rin told her she would like to talk to her about a few things before they head toward the dinner. Sookie told her that she would answer whatever questions Rin had for her. She hung up the phone with a smile and a giggle.
Rin got up, kicking off her heels and grabbed her books and brought them to her room. She sighed as she dropped them on her bed and looked at herself in the mirror. She smiled at her reflection. Looking over to the dark blue clock that hung on her wall. She had at least a half hour until she had to go pick up Chiyo from school. She had no idea on what she was going to do for the next half hour.
Grinning, she put her finger on her bottom lip and smiled. “I got it…” she said to herself. She ran out her room and into the living room and over to the piano.
For the next half hour Rin played a few songs on the piano. Figuring she wouldn’t be playing long and playing would kill time. She rehearsed the songs she had to do for the recital and other random songs. Once the clock said it was five minutes until four she was up and out the chair by the piano and over to the couch to put back on her heels. After putting on her heels she was out her house in less then ten seconds.
Walking down the street and over to the small elementary school not far from her house. There she waited by the front gates like she normally did and waited for the bell to ring to release the children to the world. When the bell rang, Rin watched tons of kids running outside the large double doors and into the arms of their loved ones. Chiyo was surprising one of the last kids to come outside the doors. She was walking with Akasha, Sookie’s niece.
Rin smiled as the two girls came running over to her. Rin gave Chiyo a big hug then turned to Akasha and hug her as well, “How was school girls?” She said with a soft voice, glancing over to the woman walking over to them. She smiled, it was Sookie.
Akasha took the honor of speaking first, “It was terrific Rin. I get to be the opening act for the talent show.” Rin’s eyes went wide and smiled. She was happy for her. Chiyo loved to be last, so the audience could admire her more then the others. “Chi and I both got the spots we wanted.”
“That’s terrific girls!” Sookie said as she walked over to her niece and hugged her, “I am very proud of you my dear, you have done very well practicing and getting ready for this show.” Akasha smiled and jumped into Sookie’s arms. Sookie turned to Chiyo and said, “And Chiyo, your voice is as lovely as ever, I wouldn’t be surprised if people start confusing you for Rin. You both sing wonderfully.”
Rin giggled as Chiyo grabbed her hand and smiled, “Thank you Ms. Sadamoto, your too kind.”
“Your very welcome Chi…” Sookie turned to Rin as she set Akasha on the ground so she can talk to her, “I called my ex-mate, reserving a spot for you for dinner. He said that dinner is at eight-thirty, maybe nine o’clock, but I always arrive early, that’s the way I am. I love to be early instead of arriving late.” Rin nodded her head. “Your aunt called me this morning saying she will be home around five maybe. When she gets home we can leave, I would like to talk to my ex before dinner and to answer any questions you have for me.”
Rin smiled as she nodded her head, Sookie was too kind, she could mistaken her one day as a human. Most demon women she known or met were always rude and cruel to her, only because she was a human with a demon mate, one she knew nothing about. “Aunt Mimi said she should be home no latter then five. So when she gets home I’ll call you and come to you…”
“No, no, no my dear, I’ll come get you. My driver has already been informed to come get you.” Rin looked at her, confused on why she would need her driver come get her, “I will not have you walking to my house, nonsense, I’ll come get you.” Sookie was one of those demons that had a heart. She was kind, graceful and very giving. She donated to many charities at least three times in a year. She had a way being the person she was and still gave others what they need, even though she was a Great Lady of the West. She was no longer the Lady of the Western Lands, but she sure did feel like it.
Rin smiled and nodded her head then said, “I should get Chiyo home, get her started on her homework.” Sookie nodded her head and gave Rin a small hug then let her go her separate ways.
Chiyo hugged Akasha and said goodbye then went walking with her cousin back to there home. The girls got back to their house a few minutes later. Rin crashed out on the couch as Chiyo did her homework. She had to read and do a few math problems. Rin needed to quiz her on her spelling homework, but Mimi told her she would do that when she got home. Mimi called Rin twenty minutes after they got home from the school and said she was leaving her office now and would be home in ten or twenty minutes.

Tuesday 5:15 p.m. : Dearily Residence
Mimi came pulling into the drive-way fifteen minutes after five. She was late, but Rin wasn’t going to bother her about it. There was always heavy traffic around five. She opened her car door, grabbing the heavy folders in her hands and attempting to balance her purse on her arm while shutting the door. Chiyo looked out the window and saw her mother walking to the door. Smiling she jumped up and opened the door for her and helped carry in whatever her mother needed her to carry in.
Rin smiled as she turned off the television. Getting up from the couch and walked over to her aunt. Her feet walking against the cold floor. Mimi smiled as she said.
“Rin, I’m so sorry I’m late, I know you had to meet Sookie soon. I left the office, but my boss…” Before Mimi finished her statement, her niece smiled and giggled.
Rin shook her head as she grabbed everything from her aunt’s hand and carried it to the counter. She wanted her to lay down, she could tell her aunt had a hard day of work. “It’s okay Aunt Mimi, no need to explain, I understand. I already called Sookie and told her you might be late.” Rin set everything on the counter, her aunt crashed on the couch. She was exhausted after a long day of hard work and business was packed at her office. “Sookie should be here soon, in the meanwhile, can I get you something?” Mimi shook her head no. But Rin got her a bottle of water for her just in case.
Mimi never understood why Rin was so sweet. She would have thought Rin would have grew up wanting to be alone. Or maybe grew up angry, because her parent died at such a young age for her. They wouldn’t be able to see her walk down the aisle when she gets married, or get to see their first grandchild. They won’t be able to see her minutes before she left to prom, or the days he graduated from high school. Instead Rin grew up sweet and daring. Rin had a tough life, but she stuck through it and continued on with her life. Rin was the same little girl she raised when she was seven, but a lot older now, and she has a life.
A few minutes after Mimi got home the doorbell rings. Chiyo goes to get the door, but Rin gets to it first. Rin smiled as she opened the door. There Sookie was. in back of her was a black Mercedes. All the windows were tinted to a dark grey color. Sookie had a huge smile on her face as Rin invited her inside her home. She had to get her heels on and grab her keys and her phone, then off she goes.
As Sookie walked through the door Chiyo frowned as she noticed Akasha wasn’t with her. When she went to ask where she was Mimi looks at Sookie and said, “Sookie, you look wonderful!” She complemented her on her wardrobe. Sookie was wearing a long dark purple dress, the sleeves were long, and were sliding down her shoulders. There was no collar on the dress, just a ‘V’ curve doing down her chest, exposing the skin in-between her breasts. Her whole back was exposed in the dressed. Her hair was curled and placed in a high ponytail. She had on heels that were similar to the ones Rin wore, except hers were the color of her dress.
Around Sookie’s neck was a pendant. It was a purple diamond shaped as a heart. Looked like from the looks of it that it was new, but it also looks like a jewel passed down by many generations. Sookie smiled at Mimi as she admired her physique while Rin ran to her room grabbing her phone and her keys to her house. While she was in her room she quickly brushed her hair, making sure it was perfect. Her hair stayed straight. Rin put on a light touch of her lip gloss and came walking back into the living room where Sookie was talking to her aunt.
Putting on her heels, Rin stood up from the couch and went walking over to the door. Sookie stared down at her and smiled. She looked beautiful. Rin was such a great person, she had wished that one day she would become her family. “Ready my dear?” Nodding her head slightly. She bit her bottom lip as she turned to her aunt and said.
“I have my phone with me, just in case you need to call me and check in. I have my keys as well, and I left Sookie’s number on the counter just in case you can’t get a hold of me from my cell…” Rin tried to think what else she needed to do. Mimi was amazed at how responsible her niece was.
Nodding her head, Mimi hugged her niece goodbye and said, “I won’t need to check in on you sweetheart, your in good hands. I trust Sookie will bring you home safely.” Sookie nodded her head as Rin opened the front door. The driver of the Mercedes was standing by the back door, awaiting for Sookie and herself to hurry. Rin gave her one last hug as she walked out the door with Sookie following close behind her.
“Need not to worry Mimi, your niece is in great hands.” and with that they both left with Mimi waving them goodbye from the open front door.
The driver opened the door and allowed Rin to get into the back seat and allow Sookie to get in as well. Rin sat near the window and Sookie sat in the other seat near the window. Rin looked out the window as the driver got in the drivers seat and started the car. He pulled out her driveway and went speeding down the road, stopping at all the red lights and stop lights in front of them. The driver seemed like a careful driver, but he also seemed like he just wanted to hurry up and drop Sookie and Rin off at the estate and get on with his life.
Sookie settled down, fasting her seatbelt as Rin did the same. She was comfortable. Looking over to Rin who was looking outside the window, “So Rin, you had a few questions for me?” Rin nodded her head, “I’ll try to answer the best I can my dear. What is it about?”
“Well…demons and dog demons and mates.” Sookie gasped then listened for her first question. “I want to know about the demon culture, your culture.”
Sookie looked at her, Rin was smiling slightly, “There is a lot to know about demon culture…” Sookie said as the driver continued driving down the street, “Is this because of the scar on your wrist? Have you found the one you are supposed to be destined with?”
“I’m not sure, this pull that’s pulling me toward him is pulling me to this demon that doesn’t seem to recognize me. Aria said she can feel a connection I’m making with one of the new demons, she said its really strong. I can’t feel it, I can feel the pull growing stronger when I’m near him. He seems to only notice me when I’m in trouble, he’s always there.” Rin said as she stared at Sookie, her golden eyes gleamed, they reminded her of him.
“When your in trouble? What do you mean, dear?”
“I bumped into him at school yesterday, he caught me before I fell to the ground. I was walking home yesterday and was caught in a ally by this demon who tried to rape me, tried to hurt me. But he was there before he could do anything to me. He told him to, ‘never come near me again’.” she smiled as she continued, “I figure he is the one I’m destined to be with, but if so why hasn’t he came forward about it like everyone else?”
Sookie scooted over to her and said, “Some demons have too much pride. Some demons don’t want to be mated to a human. They see humans as weak and too vulnerable, but you my dear, you have so much power in you, so much strength in you.” She spoke, her voice was soft, yet sweet, “But demons are protective of their mates, even when they don’t like them or even want them, they protect them from all the other demons and humans around, to make sure they know you’re taken.”
“Sookie he’s a dog demon, that’s the reason why I want to know more about your culture, since you too are a dog demon. I checked out a few books on dog demons, the lords and ladies of a dog demon clan and on dog demon mating.” Sookie nodded her head, “If he is the one I am suppose to be with I don’t want to be clueless on his culture. I want to be prepared.”
Sookie giggled as she put her hand on Rin’s knee, “My dear, I believe you are the first human I’ve ever known to actually wants to know more about her mates culture and clan. I honor you for that.” Rin smiled as she continued, “My ex can answer a lot of your questions when we get there. He is still a lord, and he can help you prepare yourself for your future with this mystery mate of yours.”
“Thanks Sookie…”
After ten minutes of silence the driver pulled into a gate with huge estates surrounding them. Pulling into these silver gates with huge bold letters that said SHADOW RIDGE ESTATES. There were numbers of estates inside the gates, they were beautiful, but when the driver drove into these huge golden gates with bold letters saying SADAMOTO ESTATE Rin’s mouth went wide as she looked at the huge garden on her right and the big fountain that made the driveway into a circle. From where the car was driving she saw a lake with a waterfall out in the back. Her eyes were sparkling when the car finally stopped.
Outside the estate three servants were standing in front of the door. One at each side of the double doors and the other in the middle holding two glasses for Rin and Sookie. “Sookie…this estate is…beautiful.” Rin said, she couldn’t think of anything else to say to her, except how much she should praise the estate in front of her eyes. “Did you used to live here?”
Sookie shook her head, “No…we lived in a mansion toward the forest outside of Tokyo in the West. It was where we ruled the land back then. I’ll take you there some day.” Rin nodded her head.
Both of Rin and Sookie exited the car when the driver opened the doors. Rin stood beside the car as Sookie got out the car as well. Sookie went walking over to the servants by the front doors, Rin followed closely behind her. In the glasses on the tray in one of the servants hand was a glass of fine wine and sparkling water for Rin. The servants holding the glasses gave Sookie the glass with the fine wine and handed Rin the glass with the sparkling water.
“Thank you girls…” Sookie said as she took a drink of the wine as Rin did the same with the water. Sookie grabbed Rin’s arms and pulled her into the estate as the other two servants opened the doors for them both.
As they both walked into the estate Rin’s eyes went wondering on the portraits on the wall and the fine antique valuables all around. Walking into a elegant room Rin smiled as she saw a very tall man standing at the end of the hall with a women , they were talking and laughing as they looked over at the two women walking into their home. Rin looked at the man and gasped. He looked very much like Sesshomaru. She guessed dog demons had similar looks.
The man looked at her and gasped as he looked up and down at Rin’s figure then smiled as they both came face to face. The demon man in front of her had a blue zigzag line going across both his cheeks. He wore a white kimono with a blue pattern on it and a blue sash around his waist. The woman next to him was dressed in a red dress, similar to Sookie, but hers was quite different in some ways. A white ribbon was tied around her waist and in her hair.
Rin bowed her head at them both as he spoke. “Sookie, your early, dinner isn’t until nine, you’re two and a half hours earlier.”
“What can I say, I like to be early and not late, I thought you knew that by now.” He nodded his head as he looked down at Rin. Sookie pushed Rin closer then said, “Inu Taisho, Izayoi this is Miss Rin Dearily, my guest.”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you Miss Dearily, Sookie has told us so much about you.” Rin smiled, “And she was right, you are as beautiful in person.”
Rin giggled as she bowed her head once more, “Thank you Mr. Sadamoto. Your home is beautiful.”
Izayoi looked down at the mark on her palm then said, “Sookie also mentioned your destined to be a demon’s mate. Is that true?” Rin nodded her head, as she held out her hand . Izayoi took her hand in her own and examined it, “It seems your mark is fading. Have you found your mate yet?”
She shook her head and said, “I’m unsure if I have or not.”
Sookie walked over to Inu Taisho and whispered in his ear, “You know her don’t you?” he nodded his head as Sookie glanced over to Rin then over to the figure at the end of the hallways that connected to the other hall way known as the Dinning Hall, “Who on earth is that?”
Rin turned to look at her then gasped, “Kagome?” Inu Taisho stared at her then watched the girl disappear within view.
“That is my youngest son’s mate-to-be…” Inu Taisho didn’t want to scare Rin. He knew who she was, in fact he was the one who asked for her to come along to the dinner. So her and his son can come face to face and discuss their…future together. He stared over to Rin and said, “My dear would you like to see the rest of my families estate since you are incredibly early?” Nodding her head Izayoi stepped to the side, as Sookie went to speak.
“I can show her the basic parts of the estate. And after dinner, she can take a tour of the rest.” Inu Taisho nodded his head then turned away from them both and over to his mate. He wanted Izayoi to tell the cook to start dinner earlier.
Sookie grabbed Rin’s arm and dragged her down a different hall, out of the view of her ex-mate and his mate. They walked up a few stair cases before Sookie got to the floor she wanted to be on. The third floor. This floor contained the Library, the Demon Studies, Inu Taisho’s office, a few guest rooms and her son’s chambers at the end of the West Wing. Rin wanted to know more about dog demons so she wanted to show Rin the Library, where Inu Taisho keeps thousands of books of their clan and about other dog demons and demons of the world.
Sookie walked through a empty hall. All the curtains were drawn and candles were lit down the hall. The windows were opened. Rin looked out one of the windows and saw a huge Cherry Blossom Tree. “It’s beautiful…” Rin looked out the window and glanced at the falling leaves of the trees.
“You like the Cherry Blossom Trees?” nodding her head yes Sookie reached out the window and let one of the leaves fall onto her hand. The flower itself was beautiful. Grasping onto the flower she leaned back in from the window and gave Rin the flower, “Inu Taisho grew those trees in his yard because of the beauty they give off, he knew one day someone would cherish it’s beauty…that someone is you Rin.”
Rin ran her finger on the flower as Sookie started to walk away. Sookie walked over to a double oak door and opened it. There were a few servants in the room. The room was filled with all kinds of books. When Rin followed her into the room she put her hand over her mouth and said, “wow, amazing…” her voice echoed as she walked in further.
“This is my son’s Library. He comes here when he wants to get away from his younger brother and away from everyone else. I’m sure he won’t mind you being in here.” Sookie said as she walked in and closed the door. Walking over to a soft, comfortable chair, she sat down as Rin went running her hand against the bindings of each book. “There are thousands of books in here about our culture, there are many books about dog demons and about other lords and ladies that were dog demons. There are also many books about demon mating in here. You can learn a lot from the books.”
Rin nodded her head as she grabbed one of the books and opened it. She stood there for a few minutes before sitting down in one of the chairs and continued reading the book. Sookie stared at her as she sensed someone was coming down the hall. It was a servant. Sookie stood up as the servant walked into the room, “Sorry to bother you Milady, but Milord and Lady would like for you and Miss Dearily to meet the new addition to the Sadamoto family. And your son is down stairs waiting for you.”
“Thank you Sara, we will be down in a moment.” Sookie said as she straightened out her dress. Rin placed the book she was reading down on the desk as Sookie said, “After dinner I will show you a tour of the rest of the estate, then you can come back here to finish reading if you would like.”
Nodding her head. Sookie walked out the double doors and waited for Rin to follow her. Rin followed close behind her as they went back the way they came up. Walking down the stairs Rin started to feel that pull again. This time it felt like he was far away from her, but the pull was very strong. Rin looked at her palm and saw that the mark is fading more.
When they got back down stairs Inu Taisho and Izayoi was waiting at the side of the stairs for her and Sookie. Sookie took a glance over to where the thrones were, The thrones were where the lord and lady take their place. But two figures were standing there just looking at them. One of the figures was her son’s half-brother, Inuyasha. Inu Taisho and Izayoi’s son. And the other figure was a woman. By the looks of it they looked like they were mates, or mates-to-be. Rin noticed them both then saw a shadow figure in the corner of the hall. His face was cover, yet his body was not.
Inuyasha and his mate came walking hand-in-hand over to the group Rin smiled as she looked at the woman’s face. She gasped as she noticed it truly was Kagome. “Kagome?” she whispered.
“Rin, I didn’t know you were going to be here.” Kagome said as she let go of Inuyasha’s hand then went walking over to Rin and hugged her, “wait…why are you here?”
Izayoi stepped in-between the two girls and said, “It seems you two knows each other.” Both girls nodded their heads, “So then Miss Dearily you must know my son is Miss Higurashi’s mate-to-be?” Rin nodded her head.
“Inuyasha is your son…then that means…” Rin looked over to the shadow figure then over to Sookie, “He is your son…”
Sookie was confused on what she meant. “Rin you know him?”
Inu Taisho stepped in and said, “Sookie, there is something you don’t know about this girl here?” he took Rin’s hand in his, “there was a reason why I ask you to bring her here.”
Rin and Sookie was confused. Rin shook her head and looked at Inu Taisho, “How do you know me?”
“I’m the one who chose you, my dear. I chose you for my…” Before Inu Taisho got another word out the shadow figure went walking over to the group. He rushed over to his mothers side before Inu Taisho could say one more word.
“Father?” Rin looked up and looked into the golden eyes in front of her. Then shook her head. “You’re the one who invited her here?” his father nodded his head then said, “this is the reason why you set up this dinner.” he shook his head as Rin backed away from them.
Just before Inu Taisho went to answer him a servant walked into the hall and said, “Lord Inu Taisho dinner is ready.” Everyone nodded their head as Inu Taisho turned away from the group. They will talk more about the situation at dinner.
Everyone went walking into the dinning hall. Sookie stopped Inu Taisho in his tracks before he could go any further. “How do you know her?”
“She is our son’s mate-to-be. She was chosen to be with him by the consul and I.” Inu Taisho said.
“But why her? You know how our son feels about humans. He hates them, much like he hates you for mating with Izayoi.” Sookie was worried. She knew her son would never accept Rin because she was human. Rin will only be another object to him.
“That girl will be able to change him from the cold-hearted beast he is. He may hate humans, but he sure hasn’t let anything or anyone harm her.” Sookie then thought back on what Rin told her in the car.
I bumped into him at school yesterday, he caught me before I fell to the ground. I was walking home yesterday and was caught in a ally by this demon who tried to rape me, tried to hurt me. But he was there before he could do anything to me. He told him to, ‘never come near me again’. Sookie remembered exactly what Rin told her. Inu Taisho was right, Sesshomaru may hate humans, but ever since he laid eyes on her and knew she was who he was destined to be with he made sure nothing happened to her.
“I wanted you to bring her here so he can discuss this with her. I know you can feel that connection building between him and her, its strong and hard to miss. Rin has had a tough life, you know she has, it’s time for her to be happy, time for our son to be happy. He’s not going to be able to avoid her much longer, she won’t be able to deny the connection much longer either.” Sookie nodded her head as she walked away and into the dinning hall. There every one was sat down in their spots.
Rin had hid her face from everyone. Kagome was talking to Inuyasha while Izayoi was attempting to make small talk with Rin. “Rin, I hear your going to be competing in the Battlement Tournament? Kagome has told me a lot about the tournament and how all her friends are going to be competing in it.” Rin nodded her head.
“Mrs. Sadamoto the tournament is to test your strength and test your skills. At the end of the tournament the winner of each segment will face each other, the one who wins that battle win’s the tournament.” Kagome said cheery. Her voice was full of excitement as she tried to help Rin. This dinner was going to be quite awkward now that she knows one of her friends is the mother of her mate. “Rin and I will be participating in the Archery Segment.”
“Is that so?” Izayoi said as she smiled. Sookie took her seat next to Rin. “Rin what class are you in?”
Rin looked up at her then said, “I’m in the advanced AP class for Archery.” She nodded her head as Izayoi seemed more fascinated with how she was reacting then what she was competing in.
A servant came out of the kitchen with a few trays in her hand. Another three servants came out of the kitchen as well. Each servant set down two trays in front of each person. It was a good thing that the dinner table was long and had enough room for each tray. Kagome opened her tray and saw a huge piece of steak next to mash potatoes and corn on the cob. There was celery sticks with dipping sauce on it. Kagome licked her lips as Rin opened hers. She had a salad in front of her and so did Sookie. One tray held the meat and the other held the salad.
Rin grabbed her fork and ate quietly. Finishing the salad she went on to the meat and mash potatoes and everything else next. She cuts the steak in pieces and slowly ate them bit by bit. Sesshomaru stared at her. Rin felt his eyes lingering on her. She finished half the steak, most of the celery stick, parts of the corn and the whole mash potatoes before becoming full.
The table was silent. No one was speaking. It just looked like everyone was looking at Rin. Rin felt like all eyes were on her and it was just too awkward for her, so she excused herself, “If you will excuse me…” Rin excused herself from the table and went walking out the doors of the dinning hall and into the main hall.

Lady Siyana<3

Author Note: Well, there goes another chapter. The dinner was awkward, well in the beginning was. I’m continuing the rest of this chapter in the next chapter. Let see what happens to Rin when she finds herself lost in the hallways of the Estate.
Well hope you like this chapter and the story so far. The next chapter Rin and Sesshomaru are going to have a little talk. Lets see what fate has in store for the two. I’m going to update in the next week, I promise.
