Chapter 2
Hotaru, a Kitsune youkai warrior of the Daisuke’s and now Sesshomaru’s court was one of the many people that had gone out in search of Amaya after Asa brought the news that he had not found her. Many thought her dead, but Sesshomaru had not lost hope and had sent many out to search for her. Hotaru sniffed the air and caught her scent. He took on his true form as a large auburn, red fox with bright green eyes. He ran towards where he caught her scent and found an injured Inuyoukai girl, covered in blood and dirt. He reverted back to his humanoid form and picked her up, holding her to his chest.
Amaya looked up as she was taken into a strong set of arms. She looked up into the green concerned eyes of Hotaru, one her father’s advisors. She began to cry once more and buried her face in his auburn red locks. He hugged her close as he began to run toward the castle.
Hotaru smelled Amaya’s fear and held her close, as she cried, no doubt from her father. He ran for a long while until he reached the castle. He took her straight to Umi’s chamber. Umi was the healer and a Kitsune youkai as well. She had hair that was silvery red and deep blue eyes. She took Amaya and laid her on a mat. “Bring Lord Sesshomaru,” she instructed a servant. The servant bowed and ran to Sesshomaru’s study. She knocked on the door. It was answered by a slightly agitated Sesshomaru. “Yes?” he asked wanting to go back to what he was doing. “Lord Sesshomaru, Amaya has been found,” the young servant girl said timidly. Sesshomaru ran to Umi’s chamber and found Umi treating Amaya’s many wounds and burns. When Umi was done, he hugged her tight and caught a scent that did not make him happy. He smelled his uncle on her and not in a place that he had wanted to smell on her this early in her life. She was carrying her uncle’s pup. “Amaya,” he said, glad to see his slightly younger sister alive. “Can we talk alone?” Umi nodded, letting him know that she was done with Amaya and would check on her later.
Sesshomaru stood and helped Amaya stand. They took a few steps and Amaya couldn’t do much more, so Sesshomaru picked her up and carried her to his study. He sat down on a large pillow in the corner and cradled Amaya in his arms. She was still crying and from the tone her brother used, she knew something was wrong. “Amaya,” he said. “What did uncle do to you?” Sesshomaru asked firmly. Amaya wouldn’t look at him. She couldn’t even speak. She merely pulled aside her long silver white hair to reveal a bite mark on her neck. Sesshomaru couldn’t believe it. His baby sister had been forced to mate with their uncle.
Amaya stood from his lap and left his study. She ran to her room and locked the door. She threw herself onto her bed and cried into the pillows. She ignored the knocks at her door. She didn’t want to face her brother. Not now. Maybe not ever. She felt dirty and she felt as though she was at fault. She couldn’t face her brother. She had dishonored him. She had dishonored her family. She was suddenly being hugged by her brother. She knew that he had snuck in through her open window. He held her tight and whispered words of comfort. “It’s my fault,” she whispered. “No,” Sesshomaru said. “I know you. You would not let him do that of your own will. Now tell me what happened.” Amaya inhaled and exhaled and regained her composure. “Father made me leave after Takemaru hurt me,” she said. “After awhile the building caught fire and I ran to find father. I found his dead body and uncle found me crying over father. He told me to stay while he brought you father’s body and then he took me and… and raped me.” She finished on barely a whisper. She began to cry once more. Sesshomaru held her close and whispered words of comfort to her, like their father had often done.
“It’s ok,” he whispered. “I won’t let him hurt you again.” There was a gentle knock on the door and Sesshomaru stood and answered it. Umi had come to check on Amaya. Sesshomaru sat at his little sister’s side as Umi changed the bandages and put medicinal herbs in them. Umi looked up at Amaya, as she caught the scent of pregnancy. “Lady Amaya,” she said. “Do you know that you carry?” Amaya turned paler than ever and began to cry into Sesshomaru’s shoulder once more. Sesshomaru dismissed Umi and the Kitsune left the room. Sesshomaru held Amaya close, stroking her long silver hair. He began to hum a lullaby their father would sing to her when she was frightened or sad. He hoped it would calm her. It calmed her a bit but then she began to cry again. “Daddy,” whimpered. Her tears came harder now. She had been close to their father as close if not closer than he had been. “I want my daddy,” she whispered. “I know,” Sesshomaru cooed. He felt tears of his own forming, but he held them in. He needed to be strong for his sister. He needed to be strong for her. He held Amaya to him and let her cry, her tears soaking his kimono and hers. He didn’t mind. He knew she needed to let it out.
Asa watched this from a perch in a tree. He laughed to himself triumphantly. His thoughts were interrupted by a hit on the back of his head. His sister Kaiya had jumped up next to him and hit him on the back of the head. “What is wrong with you?” she asked. “You raped my niece. You raped a pup! How dare you hurt my niece?” “Shut it Kaiya,” Asa growled. “You have no say right now.” Kaiya full out slapped him. “It is my twin brother who has been killed,” she growled at him. “It is my twin brother’s daughter you violated. How dare you say that I don’t have a say in things. I have more say in things around here than you ever will!” She stomped off to the castle.
