Okay I corrected an error in chapter 4 where I mentioned Kikyou, I deleted it so he doesn't know Kikyou yet.

Chapter 9

Kagome woke up and blinked as sunbeams hit her face, illuminating her beauty. `Today is Friday! YEAH! I get to meet up with Victoria after school AND wear whatever I want to school!' Kagome jumped out of bed and ran to her hidden walk-in closet.

She remembered reading in the student's handbook about how once a month the students get to wear whatever they wanted to as long as it was appropriate for school.

`And it lands on today! YIPPY!' Kagome went to her underwear drawer and looked down at it; every thing consisted of `Victoria Secrets' lingerie, in Victoria's words: `Only the best for my friends.'

Kagome snorted and laughed, `She'd probably kill me if I even looked at another store.' Pulling out a black hidden wire bra and black low-rise bikini underwear, she put them on and then walked around the shelves looking for something to wear. `It's a little cool out sooo...I'll wear…ohhh…ah hah!'

Kagome smiled and held up a Boatneck, long sleeved dusty teal sweater designed to leave people guessing but fit snugly. She picked out a pair of faded Blue Jeans, and pulled up a pair of ankle length socks.

To say she really looked stylish as she took a pair of bamboo hair-sticks and put her hair up in an elegant yet wild twist would've been an understatement. After brushing her teeth, she flew `gracefully' down the stairs.

"Ohayou Gozaimasu Kaa-san Jii-chan Souta!" Kagome smiled brightly and plopped down on her cushion. "Hey Kago-chan!" Souta smiled admiringly at his older sister though with a hint of teasingness; she playfully stuck out her tongue at him.

"Ohayou Kagome-chan, say did I tell about the story of Seiseitou-" Jii-chan was interrupted by Kagome jumping up and grabbing her lunch and a piece of toast, Souta doing the same. "Gomen na Jii-chan later!" Kagome ran out of the room and through the door.

Jii-chan sighed, and Mrs. Higurashi came and sat next to him. "Its alright, Jii-chan. She wouldn't have listened anyway." Mrs. Higurashi grinned, "I wish they'd stop doing that…Kagome really needed to listen."

"Ano ne maybe after school-no she is going out with Victoria-san…hmmm." Mrs. Higurashi stood, picked up the phone, and dialed a number.

"Ohayou Victoria-san…hai…alright Victoria-Chan," Mrs. Higurashi smiled and shook her head, "ee, well could you do me a favor?"

"SANGO-CHAN!" Kagome yelled in a singsong voice, "Hey Kago-chan! Geez you don't have to deafen me you know." Sango said, one finger in her ear.

"Aww… I know, I'm just HAPPY! LOOKY THERE'S SEESHOU-KUN AND INU-KUN!" Kagome jumped up and down and pulled/dragged a startled Sango towards the two brothers.

Halfway there Hiten moved in front of her. "Yoi wench, I challenge you!"

Kagome huffed, "Again?"

Hiten flushed, "Well yeah…you could put it that way."

"Can it wait? I'm a woman on a mission right now." Kagome jumped from one foot to the other, trying to look over Hiten's shoulders.

"Are?" (Ah-reh) Hiten turned and looked behind him, he growled low. Sango had on a startled look as she was pulled by. Hiten twirled around and walked towards the back of the school building.

"Konnichiwa Sesshou-kun! Inu-kun!" Kagome hopped the last two steps towards them,

"Don't you ever run out of energy?" Inuyasha asked, amazed as Kagome smiled and waved to a boy with brown hair and bright brown eyes who blushed and looked away (for some reason this annoyed Inuyasha)

Kagome didn't answer his question, "What cha doin'?" Kagome leaned on her heels and moved forwards to balance herself,

"Walking." Sesshoumaru said coolly.

"Don't state the obvious Sesshou-kun….its just not you to be like that." Kagome said smiling innocently as she flicked her gaze over his choice of clothes.

He was wearing a white sleeveless undershirt and a white `UNBUTTONED' dress shirt over it…well lets' just say he had some NICE ABS' (said slowly)…ahem…ah ya, and nice fit khaki pants with a black belt that rode his waist nicely.

Kagome snapped her eyes over to Inuyasha, fighting a blush. Inuyasha was looking at her with an eyebrow raised, waiting.

"I mean in more detail, like how was your morning, what did you do yesterday, was your pride bruised enough?" Kagome slipped that last sentence in, grinning as Inuyasha flushed and `feh'd'.

"Don't know what you're talkin' about, female," Inuyasha muttered and glared flaming daggers at her.

"So now my name is female ne? Well then MALE, what did you do after school yesterday?" Kagome crossed her arms and leaned on one leg, she looked over at his brother. Inuyasha was wearing a long black shirt that read, `Stay back, Danger Zone.' On the front and had a `Beware' on a picket sign on the back with blood oozing out of small holes (Kagome didn't see this yet but will later), and baggy khaki pants and black shoes.

"None of your business, FEMALE." Inuyasha snapped back looking down his nose at Kagome.

"Oh, picking up your brothers habits I see, though you could never pull of that intimidating glare you're too short…and hot-tempered." Kagome teased as Inuyasha quickly snapped his arms to his side and leveled his eyes to her face.

"I knew that would getcha." Kagome looked at Sesshoumaru who was amused at the two children…there was one point between where the two ignored him and the other girl; the two took a familiar scene that was played less then 24 hours ago.

"Sooo, wanna walk to class together?" Kagome directed this to Sesshoumaru,

"Like if I said no you'd just leave?" Sesshoumaru raised an eyebrow, slight amusement lacing in his words (this surprised Inuyasha, who gave him a look but Sesshoumaru ignored him).

Kagome looked at the sky for a sec. "Hmmm, your right lets go!" Kagome grabbed his and Sango's wrists and some how managed to drag them both behind her.

This again struck Sesshoumaru's interest, THIS also happened less then 24 hours ago as well. He listened as Kagome talked his ears off to that other girl named `Sango-chan', `her voice is very pleasant…I must admit.'

Sessoumaru suddenly did not mind having her drag him to class and was painfully aware of her hand's gentle hold around his wrist.

Kagome stopped mid-sentence and looked down at her right hand. "Are?" Kagome followed from fingers up. The perfect-clawed nails to the strong slim porcelain artist-like fingers, `I never noticed those stripes there…' Kagome thought as she left the stripes, to the elbow, the forearm, the sleeve of a white dress shirt, the collarbone.

(Oh yes she WAS taking her sweet time uh huh.)

Up the elegant neck, the pointed chin, the straight nose, too two marvelous molten gold colored eyes, that right now had amusement written all over; his one eyebrow raised in amusement.

"Arree…" Kagome felt small and `casually' let go (yeah right, more like snapped her hand back to her side as if she had been burnt.)

"Gomen nasai, ne ano, Sango-chan what where we talking about?" A very pink Kagome turned back to her friend who looked like she was about to crack.

"Stop it!" Kagome yelled annoyed and stomped off into the classroom. Sango laughed as she walked to her classroom a hallway over.

The situation did not; I repeat DID NOT get any better as Menoumaru walked in and did his usual `harassing Kagome' routine. "I swear it's been only three days and already I feel like I've been here for a year." Kagome mumbled and sulked into her seat as Menoumaru grinned at her, making her blush `Geez he's hot…'

"Hey, what are you doing to today after school?" Menoumaru suddenly became more civilized, Kagome sat up in her chair, more than surprised, "Ano, are…I'm going to go out with a" Kagome hesitated, "`friend'."

Kagome pause; Menoumaru frowned, "then I have to go -ah - practice something." Kagome waved a hand dismissing the topic.

"Oh is it a boyfriend? What's his name?" Menoumaru leaned in, the humor in his voice not really reaching his eyes.

"What boyfriend?" Kagome looked at him leaning back.

"You said you were going out with a friend, I want to know his name."

Menoumaru had a mysterious look on his face.

"You assume too much." Kagome raised an eyebrow. "If you must know I don't have a boyfriend, I've never had one!" She somewhat laughed at the last part; suddenly the male population in the classroom got closer.

Menoumaru gave them heated glares and they sweat dropped and continued with their conversations or gossiping.

"Menoumaru-san, does this nauseating babble have a point? (This is all I can come up with for now.) get to the point…or I will." Sesshoumaru looked down at the two people who were now looking at him.

Menoumaru pursed his lips, "And why, pray tell, would the great ice prince himself even care?" Menoumaru tilted his head, an edge to his voice.

Sesshoumaru didn't answer but growled low and Menoumaru flushed and growled back. "Okay settle down you two," Kagome looked worried as all the demons and two hanyous turned to watch the three.

Kagome waited and was being ignored. "Fine." She huffed. "While you two argue in a different language, I'm going to go sit somewhere else." Kagome stood up and grabbed her briefcase. She asked if she could sit with a bunch of girl who blushed and made room for her, then started talking; Kagome ignoring the two demons she'd ditched.

The teacher came in and everyone bowed and took their seats. "Everyone, I have exciting news!" Yamasaki exclaimed happily. "Everyone knows that every year, Higashi Joukaku allows one lucky school a field trip there to relax and learn about the ancient family of the Kanseiyou."

There were murmurs around the classroom, Yamasaki-sama quieted everybody down, excitement radiating off him in waves.

"Yes well, our school as been chosen and three classes will be able to attend, we are one of those classes; Hara-sama, and Okiwa-sama are the other classes joining us!"

There was full-blown excitement and throughout the class they talked about it. Yamasaki-sama handed them permission slips to take home.

Kagome was the first one out of the classroom after the bell rang, and quickly went to her next one. It seemed like the whole school knew about the classes going to Higashi Joukaku, and no one was really paying attention to the teachers who soon gave up and joined in on the conversations.

At lunch, Kagome looked around and saw Sango in the way back with Miroku and Inuyasha. `I didn't know we had the same lunch together.' Kagome smiled and walked over to them, they where whispering in low voices.

"Hey." Kagome smiled looking at the three who suspiciously put on a fixed smiles and quickly said `Hey' back. "Nani desu ka?" Kagome sat down and looked at the three who gave quick glances at each other then looked at her.

"Nani mo." They said quickly,

"Hai." Kagome rolled her eyes and looked at them," No really. If it has anything to do w/ me tell me please, I'll find out one way or another."

"She's right…" Miroku said and looked over at Sango and Inuyasha,

"Nani?" Kagome asked irritably, "Well, the whole schools `Hot Gossip' right now is you and dating…more specifically, dating you." Inuyasha put bluntly.

"Well that's putting it down gently." Sango glared at Inuyasha and slapped Miroku's hand away at the same time.

"Oh, is that all?" Kagome began to eat her lunch.

"There's that, and what happened in first period…in your class, with Menoumaru and my `high and mighty' brother." Inuyasha snorted.

"I was wondering what they where growling about…" Kagome put her chopsticks down and looked at Inuyasha.

"Will it was will crypt, ( What do you mean here?) but the students had a hunch it was something about you…" Inuyasha fidgeted in his seat.

"Oh…" Kagome looked down at her lunchbox. `Did I do something wrong?' Kagome thought, a look came over her face and Inuyasha and the rest thought it was distress, so they dropped it and changed the subject.

They soon started talking about how it was a coincidence that they all were going to the Higashi Joukaku together. "I can't wait!" Sango squealed. "We get to spend New Years Eve, come back a day before school starts, THEN get excused a day to relax!" Sango jumped up and down in her seat of pure excitement.

"Oh this is going to be SOOOOO GOOD!!!!" She yelled. Every one in the cafeteria stared at Sango, who blushed and sat down lower then her seat. "Gomen ne." she muttered from under the table.

"Someone's excited." Kagome smiled, peeking under the table.

"HECK YA!" Sango jumped out and looked at her with a happy expression.

"I hope we room in the same wing, or even better, right next to each other!" Kagome smiled, the boys just looked like the girls where from another planet.

"Females…" Inuyasha shook his head.

"I didn't understand a word they said…" Miroku said, staring at the fast moving mouth's of the girls.

"I'm going to class now," Inuyasha inched away, closely followed by Miroku.

Kagome felt someone watching her, so she turned away from Sango while she chewed her rice. Looking around the cafeteria she saw a figure that blended well in the darkest corner of the cafeteria, glowing red eyes meeting hers.

`Is that who I think it is?' Kagome excused herself and said she would meet Sango later.

She walked over to the figure, "Hi, are you Kuromoto-sama?" Kagome smiled.

He nodded and Kagome brightened. "One of my `friends' told me you were coming here soon." Kagome jumped into the seat next to her, "So how was your first day here so far? I hope it was a lot better than mine." Kagome rolled her eyes.

"It was pleasant enough so far." He answered silkily. Kagome felt a shiver go down her spine. `Whoa, I don't remembering his voice being this…nice…' Kagome gave him a small smile. She found it a little hard to breath and the temperature in the room went up a few degrees.

"What was your first day like?" Naraku tilted his head to the side, his black wavy hair cascading down his back and shoulder.

"Uh, ano, are, ne, it…it was interesting." Kagome blushed. Her voice wasn't working well for some reason. A twitch tugged at Naraku's lips as her studied the girl.

She was stunning he would admit, her hair giving off a light of its own and her bright gray-blue eyes looking at him shyly. Her soft-looking pale cream skin looked slightly pink then. He could feel waves of heat radiating off her. `She's infatuated…' This made him genuinely smile.

`Yikes…' Kagome mind was on max alert, `he smiled he smiled…I bet if another stoic person smiled they would have me- whoa…where did that come from?' Kagome turned red.

Naraku chuckled, "Nani desu ka?" like he didn't already know, "Na-nani mo." Kagome hurriedly said.

She looked at her watch, wanting an excuse to look away from him. "We have five minutes until the bell rings." Kagome looked up at him, "What class do you have?"

"Chemistry." Naraku answered.

"Me too, maybe we have the same class, come on!" Kagome jumped up and pulled him out of the cafeteria (she like pulling doesn't she?).

They entered the class together and sat by the window. Kagome introduced Sango, Miroku, Inuyasha, "And HIM, over there is Sesshoumaru-kun." Kagome pointed to Sesshoumaru who was sitting in the back row closest to the shadows.

Naraku received a very intense glare that could stop the wind from blowing. Naraku wasn't fazed one bit, simply tilted his head to one side and looked at Sesshoumaru with amusement sparkling in his eyes. "Sesshou-kun, stop glaring! He's not going to just disappear." Kagome eyed Sesshoumaru warily.

"Do not call me that wench." Sesshoumaru bit coldly.

Kagome blinked and looked at him. "What ever you say Nishitsuki-sama." Kagome stated bored, "I've had enough of your damn High and Mighty attitude anyway."

Kagome looked straight ahead in her seat and tried to loosen the tight knot that was in her chest. She couldn't breath right either. Her breaths came in and out in small amounts. `No! That did not get to me, I don't feel anything-I don't feel anything for him…' Kagome looked do at her desk, "Then why does it hurt so much?"

"What hurts so much?" Naraku silky deep voice spoke in her ear, Kagome jumped then blushed.

"Ahh nani mo…" Kagome put on a fake smiled and turned around when the teacher came in.

Halfway through the class, Kagome felt something that she hoped would never happen: her miko abilities picked up the rise of three strong demon energies. She was looking down at her paper, and her eyes widened and she whipped her head to look over her shoulder. Sesshoumaru and Naraku were having a contest of some sort.

A very dangerous one…

She quickly looked around the classroom and was surprised the other youkai's and hanyou's didn't feel this. Kagome was getting the jitters. `My god all this youki is going to set my miko power loose.' Kagome hid her fingers under the desk: they where sparking electric pink.

She turned in her seat and pleadingly looked at the two. "Stop..." her voice cracked into a barely audible whisper. Though thankfully they had excellent hearing, they turned to her, eyes slightly wide, before returning to their normal expressions.

Kagome looked at them with a pained expression, small tears at the side of her eyes and whipped towards the front of the classroom so they wouldn't see.

`I could have killed them…I haven't practiced for two years.' Kagome hugged herself and tried to suppress her raising miko powers from the aftermath of the three powerful demons and strange half-demon.

`Curse this treasure of mine…I could have killed them.' Kagome started to rock in her chair, flashes of the demon's faces disintegrating. She shivered, flashes of Inuyasha disintegrating into ash with the horror and betrayal on his face.

She stopped stock-still. Menoumaru's face, Naraku's face, Hiten's face, and why did her defenses crumbled as the face of Sesshoumaru's disappear? Kagome spaced out and the taste of tears entered her mouth, out of the corner of her eye. She saw Sango try to catch her attention. `I don't want to hurt anyone…' Kagome thought she sounded somewhat pathetic.

`So instead of sulking, I'll train. I'll control this…' Kagome relaxed and looked over at Sango and gave her a bright smile. She then noticed that all her friends were looking at her. `What?' She mouthed, an innocent look on her face. She grinned and rolled her eyes at their expressions.

She shook her head and took notes as the teacher spoke. The bell rang and Kagome stretched, which got her some stares. "Hey, Kago-chan…daijoubu desu ka?" Sango put a hand on her friend's shoulder.

Kagome made a cute sound, "Hai, I feel great! In fact, I want to go dancing…" Kagome was practically jumping inside.

"Oh-okay." Sango looked at her with startled eyes.

"Nani?" Kagome looked around at her friends who were all staring at her.

"Stop staring at me!...stop it…Okay I'm just leaving now…uh yeah I'll do that." Kagome gave them all `are you psycho' looks. "Ja…" Kagome walked out the door leaving behind five very confused people behind, five seconds ticked by and they didn't move.

"Will you move it!" Kagome's voice reverberated off the walls. Inuyasha, Miroku, and Sango jumped some feet in the air, and Naraku gave a little twitch. Kagome poked her head in side the classroom, "Don't make me come in there…" Kagome warned. At that Sango and Inuyasha gathered their stuff quickly and rushed to the door, Miroku following closely behind.

Kagome smiled happily at them as they walked out giving her nervous grins. "Yoi come on…Naraku-kun…Se- oh, ah, I mean Nishitsuki-sama?" Kagome looked at them and smiled, they didn't move. Slumping and putting on an annoyed face Kagome huffed and stalked over to the two.

She put her hands on her hips and gave them both a calculating glance. Rolling her eyes Kagome turned to Naraku. "What class do you have?" It was half a demand half a question.

"Study hall." was his short answer.

"Me too, let's go." Kagome took his hand and started to leave, and then a short, deep sound made her stop and slightly turn her head. `that sounded like a…growl?' Kagome looked curiously over her shoulder at Sesshoumaru. His eye turned from their cold ice glare to dry ice, so cold it burned, and it was directed to Kagome's waist.

Naraku had somehow woven his arm around it. She gave him a questioning stare and he her let go, though not before he looked at Sesshoumaru and smirked.

`Okay, what was that about?' Kagome thought and started to walk towards the door. "Okay I think we have everybody so, lets go!" Kagome lead the way, a bounce to her step. Her happy energy turned the nervous/tense mood before into a talkative and light environment.

(Authors comes out of nowhere)

It was strange how they all had almost every class together, and they were all going to the Eastern Land's castle together…it was like fate had it all planed out…

Rosie: I know nan and nani are the same they both mean `what',(I know a lot of Japanese, I'm not braggin' though) but in a question I think its written as "Nani desu ka?"

Kwool-sesshou-fan: Okay you know Kayla, don't ask stupid questions…(^_^), (I know this person, she goes to my school, she sometimes annoying all she talks is about Sesshoumaru this and Sesshoumaru that, Kagome this Kagome that, Sesshoumaru and Kagome this and Sesshoumaru and Kagome that. Arggah it gives me a headache and she knows it…but that's okay I'll still love her.)
