Chapter Three
Kyoko
Kagome woke up the next morning to find she had fallen asleep next to Kouga before they changed back. She noticed that she now had a tail, pointy ears, and fangs to boot. Then she felt a strong arm strengthen it's hold on her waist. A blush came full force of the knowledge of the position she and Kouga were in. Kagome was laying with her backside facing towards Kouga, and he had fallen asleep with an arm draped over hers, his legs entangled with hers. Kagome tried to break away from Kouga without waking him, but to no avail. The wolf woke up, blushing the same way she did when she woke up. “Uhm… Ah… I didn't… Uh oh…” He said, scooting away and scratching the back of his head, expecting Kagome to slap him, but again, nothing. “Ah, Kagome?” She was facing away from him, not saying a word. She extended an arm behind her.
“Kouga-kun? Can you hand me my clothes, please?” Kouga blushed even more.
“Um… They're torn up, you know.” He saw Kagome visibly flinch. He decided to hand her one of his pieces of clothing without armor; a small yukata. “But, you can wear this for now. It should cover you up well enough.” He turned away as Kagome dressed behind him. He was blushing like mad, now. No doubt she was as well. He could smell her scent spike when they woke up. No doubt she noticed his did, too. While deep in his… er… thoughts, he felt a tap on his shoulder and jumped.
“How does it look, Kouga-kun?” He turned around as she twirled in a circle. His jaw visibly dropped. He shook his head, mentally scolding himself. He hesitated before answering.
“Ah… It's lovely.” The yukata went just above her knees, and the sleeves went just below her elbows. The brown really brought out the color of her skin and eyes. Those eyes… Kouga mused. Soon enough, he noticed that he also needed something. He quickly grabbed one of his furs, sliding it on.
“Oh, Kouga-kun, I'm going to go take a quick dip in the spring nearby. Are you coming as well? Without any peeping, that is.” Kouga blushed again.
“Ah… Hai.”

“Ah… This feels so nice,” Kagome exclaimed, closing her eyes and sliding further into the soothing water. One eye suddenly shot open, peering towards the corner of the rock. “You'd better not try and peek on my side, Kouga-kun. I might just have to hurt you,” she said, trying to be serious, but ended up chuckling softly, the chuckles soon turning into silent sobs.
“You know as well as I that you would not hurt me. It's not like you could, either. My woman would never wish to truly hurt me.” Kouga swam over a little closer to where Kagome was, wondering why she didn't get angry at him for calling her his woman, and discovered her crying. “Kagome? What's the matter?” He said, wiping away one of the tears with his finger, looking at her with a concerned face. She turned and flung herself to cry in her chest, her arms wrapped around him tightly.
“Kouga-kun! I'm so lost! I… I don't know what to do anymore… I'm so confused…” She concluded, sobbing into his well toned chest. He took her into a tight embrace, comforting her.
“About what?” he questioned. “What are you so confused about?” Kagome stopped sobbing for a little while. She looked at him with tear-filled eyes, then looked away.
“I can't tell you. Not yet… Not until I know for myself with whom I belong…” She sniffed. Kouga hugged her close.
“Right now, to me, you are my beloved, and belong with me. I may not be able to make you think the same way, but I am, and forever will be, yours. I'll always be here for you, whenever you need me.”
Kagome held on tightly, not wanting to let go. She had finally realized where her heart truly lied. She loved him, and he loved her. The words that she had just heard had found her heart, unlocking the feelings she never knew she had for the wolf. She hugged him tighter, then let up, staring at him with hopeful eyes. “Kouga… kun… I've realized something now... But I don't think I can tell you just yet.” Kouga smiled warmly at her.
“You have all the time in the world. I won't pressure you into telling me anything. But remember,” he exclaimed, kissing her lightly on the forehead, “You can tell me anything you want to; don't forget that.” His ears flinched. All of a sudden, they heard a howl in the distance. “That's the rest of the pack. We must go.” He let go, allowing her to follow him back to the den. When they got there, there was a small ring of wolves in the entrance to the den. He sniffed the air. Remus…
Inside the entrance there was a female member of the pack on the ground, with auburn hair and pale green eyes, a deep wound on her side. Kouga ran up to her, demanding what happened. The she-wolf looked up at him with pleading eyes. “A… A foreign wolf… He wanted me to be his mate, but he hurt me. I ran away. Augh!!!” She curled into a ball holding her side. “It hurts…” she said through clenched teeth. Kouga cursed. He picked up the wolf, holding her in his arms.
“We need to take her to Lady Kaede,” Kagome said.
“Kagome, climb onto my back. I expect I'll be needing your help.” Kagome nodded, climbing onto his back, and off they went in a flurry of dust and wind. Hakkaku frowned.
“I really hope she's okay.” Ginta frowned as well.
“Me too. That was Kyoko, wasn't it?”
“Yeah. I really hope she's okay.”
“You like her, don't you, Hakkaku?” Ginta questioned.
“Yeah… I was going to ask her… to… I don't know if I can ask her that, now that she's hurt like this.”
“I'm sure she won't act differently. I'm sure… that she likes you as well. When she's all better, you should ask her to be your mate.”
“I really want to, but I don't think she likes me enough.” Ginta smiled, remembering that her scent spiked whenever she was around his friend. Funny how Hakkaku was the only one who didn't notice.
“I'm sure she would think otherwise.”
(-------------)
“Another of your kind? What happened?” Lady Kaede asked, mixing herbs. Kouga frowned. Kagome noticed this and hugged him lightly.
“I'm sure she'll be alright.”
“I hope so,” he whispered in her ear before answering Lady Kaede. “She was attacked by the same werewolf that Kagome was, apparently with the same intentions of taking her as his mate.” Kagome hugged him tighter, sensing his rage.
“Kouga-kun… It's going to be alright. I'm sure of it.” Kaede finished wrapping Kyoko up, letting her sit with the others.
“I'm sorry, Prince Kouga. Forgive me for being so weak.” She bowed, then walked over to Kagome.
“Kagome-nee, may I speak with you?” Kagome let go of Kouga, nodding. She led her outside.
“Of course. What do you need to speak with me about?” she asked. She saw Kyoko blush slightly. She was curious.
“Well, I don't want Prince Kouga to know why I was out alone, and I needed to ask someone about this, so I was wondering if I may ask you, Kagome-nee.” Kagome nodded, smiling brightly.
“Of course. I understand. You may talk to me anytime you need.”
“Well… you know Hakkaku, yes?” Kagome nodded. Kyoko continued. “I've been having feelings for him, but I'm not sure what kind. I always want to be around him, yet I can't be around him. I get too nervous. I think I've fallen in love with him, but I don't know if he loves me. Do you think that maybe, you could talk to him, Kagome-nee?” Kagome nodded again.
“I know what you're going through. I went through the same thing. But believe me, he'll tell you on his own, later on. You just have to be patient,” she smiled. Kyoko bowed again, heading inside.
“Arigato, Kagome-nee.” Once inside, they heard a string of curse words radiating through the walls of the hut, right before Inuyasha burst inside.
“Old hag! I found where… she was last… Kagome…? Is that you? You… smell different,” Inuyasha exclaimed, walking towards her, oblivious to her new features. She stood up, grabbing Inuyasha's arm, dragging him outside into a nearby wood. She stopped, sighing. “Kagome, why…? Why didn't you tell us where you were?” he asked, resting a hand on her shoulder. Kagome roughly pulled her shoulder away, on the brink of tears at seeing Inuyasha.
“Inuyasha… I don't want you to come looking for me anymore… Something bad might happen. I don't want either of us… to be hurt,” she cried. Inuyasha grabbed both of her shoulders tightly.
“What are you talking about? How would it hurt us? It,” he began, letting go of her shoulders to cup her slender neck and face, “…hurts me when I'm not around you.” Kagome felt tears flowing down her cheeks, knowing that this was going to hurt him, and her as well.
“Inuyasha… I can't…” She sobbed, and the inu kissed the tears falling down her face.
“Why not?” he murmured in her ear then licked it. He heard Kagome gasp. She couldn't believe he didn't notice the way she had a tail, and fangs, and pointy ears. He pulled back slightly. “Kagome, I… I love you.” Kagome gasped again, and he took the opportunity to kiss her senseless, all rational thoughts in his mind erased. Right now, he wanted her, and nuzzled into her neck, inhaling her beautiful ginger scent. Kagome tried to get out of his grasp, but he only held her tighter, not wanting to let her get away from him. He wanted her at that moment.
“Inuyasha! Let me go! I can't… I don't want… Inuyasha, sit!” The inu slammed into the ground hard. Kagome ran further into the forest, attempting to lose Inuyasha. He was not himself. Suddenly he appeared in front of her, his eyes red, and jagged stripes on either side of his face. He grabbed her tightly, pushing her to the ground. He pushed her against the ground again, making a dent in the forest floor. “Inuyasha, you're hurting me…” Kagome cried. Inuyasha laughed.
“Do you really think I care right now? You're gonna be mine, and that's all that matters, now.” He leaned forward, claiming her lips as he lay on top of her, his hands clasped tightly around her arms to keep her still. She suddenly freed her mouth, howling loudly. Demon Inuyasha thought nothing of it; maybe that's how she acts when she's with a man. No doubt she's been with a few. “You're such a whore, you know that?” He scratched her face with his claws in anger. She yelped. Suddenly Kouga came out of the darkness, kicking Inuyasha square in the face.
“You're such a bastard, Mutt Face. Leave my woman alone! She doesn't want to be with you! And I can tell why!” He barked something to Kagome, who pulled herself against a tree. “When I give the word…” He exclaimed before Inuyasha launched himself at him. “Damn it, Mutt!” He spun on his heel, punching Inuyasha in the side, knocking him far away. “Now!” he yelled at Kagome. He turned into a wolf, running towards Kagome who had also turned as well. She took one tearful look at Inuyasha who sat, returned to normal, baffled. `I'm sorry, Inuyasha. It just… couldn't be,' she thought as she ran into the woods along side Kouga.
(---End Chapter---)
Gary: That's a really crappy ending for such a long chapter.
Niki: I don't think so. It'll leave my readers begging for more!
Kouga: Exactly! Love it, Niki.
Niki: Arigato, Kouga-kun. You're so nice.
Gary: Where the hell did you appear from, wolf boy?
Kouga: Wouldn't you like to know.
Gary: What was that, wolf breath?
Kouga: What did you call me?
Niki: Please R&R! No flames! You guys, stop fighting or I'll have to beat you both up myself.
Gary: Like you could.
Kouga: Oh, she could. I have scars to prove it.
