(A/N: It's been like months since I've updated this story but I've been so busy with my others. This one will probably take the longest to finish but I'm not going to give up!! And I'm not ever going to own Inuyasha either, that I will give up on. 009)

Chapter Two

Kagome, Sango, and Miroku were in the back of the school auditorium of Western University. The seats were crowded with students as old friends got together and chatted about the summers, relationships, and everything else known to man. Sango was watching from behind the curtain with Miroku beside her, a Pepsi bottle in his hand.

"Miroku, that cannot be good for you in the morning," she stated. Miroku scowled and pointed over to Kagome.

"It's no different than what Kagome's got." Kagome looked over at him and shrugged cooly, not really giving a damn. Her expression was the same as it always was early in the morning. It screamed, `Everyone just shut up and leave me the hell alone' and it probably would have intimated anyone except her friends. She sat on Sango's bass amp, legs stretched in front of her, sipping from a Starbucks cup.

"Kagome, I thought you were gonna cut down on your caffeine intake." Sango scolded motherly. Kagome huffed and took another sip.

"I said I was only gonna drink coffee on special days. And ta me, everyday endin' in a `Y' is a special day." She would have added, `get off my back' but Sango had this habit of pounding her into the ground for such stupid remarks. Kagome wasn't a morning person, but that didn't give her an excuse to disregard her common sense.

Kagome stiffened when she heard Ms. Kaede's footsteps echo on the empty stage in front of them. She was the headmaster of the university and was about to give her annual speech of welcoming the new students and greeting the old ones. It would probably just be easier to use a tape recorder, the words never changed. Kagome tuned the elderly voice out and stood up. She placed her coffee cup down behind the amp and slipped on her guitar.

As she fixed her headset microphone she looked at her friends. As soon as they were set they gave a thumbs up sign. Kagome sighed, cricked her neck and waited for the speech to end. Time to give West U a much needed wake up call, she thought as she adjusted the volume on her own amp.

Inuyasha leaned back in his auditorium seat and sighed. Kaede had a talent for using big words that no one understood nor cared about. He hated orientations, they were so pointless. Why didn't he just skip the meeting, it's not like they had classes today anyway. He still needed to get an apartment, and a job, or Sesshomaru was going to freak out. He sighed and closed his eyes.

"Hey," came a voice from the seat next to his. He opened his eyes to meet a small boy with fiery red hair and green eyes. He looked young, probably an under classman.

"My name's Shippo, what's yours?" he asked.

"Inuyasha," Shippo nodded.

"This is real boring huh?" he asked while leaning back in his own seat. Inuyasha nodded and closed his eyes. "But you know, no one ever comes to these to listen to Kaede." Shippo continued.

"Then why do you come here?"

"You'll see," Suddenly there was a loud guitar rip which went through every note imaginable. The students screamed and cheered. Inuyasha shot open his eyes to see that the headmaster was gone and the black curtains were opened. When he saw who was on stage, he gasped.

It was that Kagome girl and her band Demonic. They only difference was this time instead of being in black and white performance clothes, they were dressed like ordinary college students who were just having a good time. Kagome was wearing blue jeans that were faded in the knees and ankles from obvious wear and tear, a white tank top and a red, short-sleeved shirt that was left unbuttoned. She still had the hemp bracelet from last night on her left hand and an inch-thick, black, leather bracelet on her right. She had small, gold hoop earrings and three sapphire blue studs in her left ear. Her hair was pulled up into a messy ponytail and she had a small grin on her face as the music took control of her body. All in all, she looked hot, and he found himself staring at her once again.

(A/N: "Hero" by Chad Kroeger)

I am so high, I can hear heaven
I am so high, I can hear heaven
Oh, but heaven, no heaven, don't hear me

And they say that a hero can save us
I'm not gonna stand here and wait
I hold onto the wings of the eagles
Watch as we all fly away

Someone told me, love will not save us
But how can that be?
Look what love gave us
A world full of killing
And blood spilling That world never came

And they say that a hero can save us
I'm not gonna stand here and wait
I hold onto the wings of the eagles
Watch as we all fly away

There was a large instrumental break where Kagome started soloing like crazy, playing from her heart and soul. Shippo looked over at his new friend and smiled as he saw that Inuyasha's eyes were glued to the young girl. Shippo laughed and Inuyasha looked over in surprise.

"That's Kagome, she's awesome isn't she." Shippo said with pride as he looked back over the stage. "She's my best friend, I help do sound effects for Demonic. She's the best guitarist and singer in the entire school. She's got skill, she's loves the stage and she loves people."

Inuyasha turned his gaze back to his angel, still coming to grips with the fact that he would probably be seeing her everyday. Shippo continued.

"Did you know she makes up all the songs and the lyrics?" (A/N: Lie, Lie, these are real songs. I suck at original lyrics, okay. Don't give me credit!!!009) Suddenly, Sango and Miroku died out and Kagome just strummed chords softly.

Now that the world isn't ending
It's love that I'm sending to you

It isn't the love of a hero
And that's why I fear it won't do

Sango and Miroku entered back into the song at full force and the entire room shook with the sound as the cheers from the audience grew louder.

And they say that a hero can save us
I'm not gonna stand here and wait
I hold onto the wings of the eagles
Watch as we all fly away
And they're watching us
They're watching us
As we all fly away
And they're watching us
They're watching us
As we all fly away
They're watching us
They're watching us

As we all fly away

Inuyasha and Shippo stood up and cheered with the rest of the crowd as the three teens bowed. The curtain closed and Kaede reappeared on stage.

"Well, as you all know, that was our own band, Demonic. And the best part is we don't need to pay them to play." she said. Kagome stepped out from behind the curtain, her headset still on so the audience could hear.

"You know, we can change that if you want?" she said, impertinently. The headmaster looked over at her and Kagome smirked, raising an eyebrow. Kaede calmly strode over and hit the girl gently over the head with her clipboard. Kagome faked a dazed look, crossing her eyes and looking dizzy.

"Get out of here!" Kaede said, chuckling as she pushed Kagome back through the curtains.

"Hey!! You're the one who said it!!" Kaede sighed and faced the students who were all laughing at their antics.

"Have a wonderful day, all of you. Classes start next week. Good luck." She said and stepped off the stage.

Inuyasha stood up and stretched as all the other kids bolted out of the auditorium. Shippo stood up and looked at him.

"Hey, you wanna go meet them? I can tell you wanna say hi to Kag," he said, grinning widely. Inuyasha's eyes widened and he suddenly felt nervous.

"Uh, no. No, that's okay." he fumbled trying to escape. Shippo laughed.

"Oh come on, there's nothing to be nervous about. Kagome is real down to earth kind of girl, you wouldn't even know she was practically famous unless you saw her perform. You'll like her, I swear, she's really nice." He said reassuringly. Inuyasha sighed and nodded. He followed Shippo to the back of the stage. He froze as he stood a few feet away from Kagome who was packing up her guitar. He had always thought she looked beautiful on stage, but she was even more up close. Shippo ran over and tapped her on the shoulder.

"Hey, Kagome!!" he said.

"Shippo, hi," she replied and gave the boy a friendly hug. Shippo then grabbed her hand and pulled her over to the frozen half demon. "Kagome, this is Inuyasha. He wanted to say hi." Inuyasha's mouth was open but he couldn't find any words.

Kagome laughed softly and raised an eyebrow. She recognized him as the guy she had seen in the club last night. She smiled and gave him a warm smile. She held out her hand and she slung he guitar case strap over her shoulder.

"Hi, I'm Kagome." she said. Inuyasha shook her hand and grinned, glad that she had said something first.

"I'm Inuyasha. You were really good out there."

"Thank you." Shippo elbowed Inuyasha in the ribs.

"See, I told you you'd like her." Inuyasha blushed slightly and Kagome just laughed.

"So what year are you?" she asked, trying to make him more relaxed.

"Uh, a junior." He replied.

"Oh, me too. So are Sango and Miroku. Hey guys, come `ere." she called waving to her friends. Sango and Miroku looked up from their equipment and joined their friend. "Guys, this is Inuyasha."

"Hey," Sango said. Miroku nodded, Inuyasha did the same.

"So, where are you staying, Inuyasha?" Shippo asked. He was a sophmore, though he still looked like a high school kids with his height. Kagome was the only one who didn't bother him about it.

"Well, heh, I'm kinda...not living anywhere yet," Inuyasha said, slightly embarrassed at his predicament.

"Oh, you need a place to stay. Hey, I'm living by myself in an apartment building about four blocks away from the school. There's an extra room and the rent's not bad." Kagome offered.

"You'd let me stay with you?" Inuyasha asked, stunned that she made such an offer to a complete stranger.

"Sure, it'd be no different if I was in a dorm." she replied. Sango looked at Kagome in shock, she then grabbed her roughly by the arm. Inuyasha noticed that Kagome's hand flew instinctively to the right side of her belt. Sango turned to him.

"Excuse us, we'll be right back." she said and dragged Kagome off a ways. Little did Sango realize that Inuyasha could hear them perfectly fine.

"Kagome, what are you thinking? Offering some strange guy to live with you. You don't even know who he is?"

"His name is Inuyasha. What more do you need to know?" Kagome replied nonchalantly.

"A hell of a lot more! Kagome, this is not a good idea."

"Sango, the guy need's a place to stay, and I wouldn't ask him if I thought he was threat. Everything is going to be fine, nothing's gonna happen to me, kay? That's all in the past, leave it there." Kagome said calmly. Sango sighed and hugged her friend.

"Just promise me you're not going to make this kind of thing a habit?" she asked. Kagome laughed.

"I promise." They walked back over to the guys.

"So what do you say? Are you willing to share a place with a tomboy?" Kagome asked.

"Sure, thanks," Inuyasha replied, grinning.

"Hey, no prob. I was getting lonely anyway. Do you have a truck to get your stuff?"

"No, I have a motorcycle."

"Okay," She pulled out a piece of paper and wrote down an address. "Come here at 1:30 and give you a hand, that's when my shift's over. I have a pick up." She gave him the paper.

"If you can ever get it fixed that it," Miroku muttered. Kagome punched his arm lightly.

"Shut up!!" She then turned back to Inuyasha. "I gotta go, I see you later."

"Okay," She winked and then grabbed Miroku by the arm.

"Come on, Hentai. You can give me a ride." She said dragging him off.

"Hey, hey, I've been good today!!" Miroku cried waving goodbye to his friends.

"Yeah, and how long will that last?" Kagome replied sarcastically as they disappeared. Inuyasha chuckled and then turned to Sango.

"Hentai?" he asked. Sango sighed.

"You'll see, eventually."
